A Simple Morning Routine with a View 🏙
Since moving to Honolulu, the name of the game has been hydration! Despite what you would think about tropical climates, it’s not unusual for hot and humid weather to dry you out with UV rays and dehydration. So I’ve really whittled down my morning routine to 3 steps (and a coffee, of course!) CLEANSE: MARIO BADESCU - Enzyme Cleansing Gel

i wanted to like it but
It irritated my skin! I bought this product last year, but it’s still for sale. Looking at the ingredients, though, none if them have changed. Sensitive skin peeps, beware! I don’t know if it was the Fragrance or what, but this thing made my skin tingle. And not in a good way. I noticed my skin getting red every time I used it. And, when it combined with my acne medication, it made the skin around my mouth peel for a week. I bought it because the store rep told me how popular it was online. And it was $14.00 for 8.0 oz, making it more affordable than a lot of hyped cleansers. But it just didn’t work :c In the 2nd pic, I lathered it with water on my hand. It also isn’t easy to rub into your face since it’s not foamy at all- though that could be a personal preference. But still, I did research and found some controversy around this brand. 🚨BRAND LAWSUIT 🚨 In 2014, Mario Badescu faced a lawsuit. People were using their Control Cream and Healing Cream, which were marketed as only having plant-based ingredients. But they each contained two steroids: hydrocortisone and triamcinolone acetonide - and they were stronger than prescription strength. Some had been using it for up to 14 years, but when they stopped, they got withdrawal-like symptoms. They suffered from higher cortisol, skin atrophy, and Cushing’s syndrome. To learn more about the science of these, I recommend Kaur Beauty’s video on Youtube titled, “STUDENT DOCTOR BREAKS DOWN MARIO BADESCU STEROID CREAM LAWSUIT.” Companies can reform themselves and change their formulations. But I couldn’t find any statement from Badescu on changing their practices. 🙁 So yeah. Thought it was important to get the word out on that. And hopefully this will encourage more ethical practices in the skincare industry.
My evening skin routine
Hey there, I am a combination/oily skin person. I recently started a new skincare routine because the previous routine was not working and it was actually making it worse over time. However it's a new day so here's my new nightly routine from left to right. 1. Gentle cleanse- MARIO BADESCU - Enzyme Cleansing Gel This is actually been working nicely on my skin. There is no foaming which in not really used to but it cleanses the first layer of dirt off with no reactions to the product so that's great so far. 2. Exfoliating Cleanse- philosophy - The Microdelivery Exfoliating Facial Wash I absolutely love this product. I've been using it for months now and I love how it exfoliates my skin leaving it feeling smooth and I feel like all the dirt and make up is gone. Be gentle on your skin though because if scrubbed too hard you can tear your akin from the tiny beads inside the cell. 3. Toner- The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution I just started the ordinary brand altogether. So far I really like this toner vs ACV/water toner that I was using that complete dryies my skin out ad burned it. This does the complete opposite. It clams my skin and tighten my pores as well as leave my skin feeling supple and soft not dry. 4. Serum The Ordinary - Mandelic Acid 10% + HA I instantly loved this product because the results were very clear from the first application. I do about 4-5 drops on my face and apply it evenly letting it sit for 5 mins before moving on to the next serum. I have scarring that instantly smoothed out and the textured healing skin is much smoother than before. I'm so happy about that. 5. Blemish treatment- The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Right now I really can tell how well this product is working because tonight was my first time. I will say that with me combining them with the other serum it worked just fine on my skin no irritation at all. I'm currently dealing with period breakout so I won't fault the product quite yet. It's supposed to help with breakout and reducing sebum. 6. Moisturizer- The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Moroccan Argan Oil I never thought you use argan oil on my skin I've used it on hair but now I love using it on my skin. I was afraid it would make my skin oily but it actually hasn't. It's a very lightweight oil and It's best in my opinion to apply at night. I oil up a lot during the day so I use something else during the day.

I have officially switched moisturizers from the thicker cetaphil/cerave tubs to the neutrogena hydro boost to have lighter coverage now that my skin is not drying out like it used to. MORNING/AM (listed in order of use) Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser CeraVe - Skin Renewing Vitamin C Serum Vaseline - Cocoa Butter Healing Jelly, Rich Moisturizing EVENING/PM (listed in order of use) Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer Absolutely loving all of these products. No irritation from any of them. Let me know what you think!
Beauty Year-in-Review 2020 🍒🌹
This all about 2020 New launch skincare that I love most for lifetime and some find that was never expected. 👍🏻 With a blink of an eye, November is about to over . The bright side? Fall always brings an enormous hall of beauty launches, and this year, they're ridiculously good. 📌 There's something about skin care that just soothes our souls. Maybe it's the sense of normalcy that a routine brings, or maybe it's that spark of joy when discovering a new ingredient — it can be an escape from the chaos and the unknown. 📌skin care can be intimidating — there are so many products out there. And with such a wide range of options comes a lot of questions. 🔗When you take skincare as seriously as we do, you're always on the hunt for the next generation of game-changing skincare products. 📌You know the ones—those holy-grail, often best-selling products that not only cut down on time getting ready, but also restore your skin to its most glowy, angelic state (you know, what dreams are made of). 🔐Well, you read round-ups like this—so you're already ahead of the curve. Then, you weigh your options and spend accordingly, because good skincare is an investment. 🗞It's all about whatever works for your skin type, which is unlike anyone else's. 📚 Hyaluronic acid, for instance, is always a good idea (and pops up in many of our faves). The same goes for niacinamides, salicylic acid, AHAs, and retinols. From cleansers and balms to concentrates and masks, and get ready for a lifetime of five-star reviews of your complexion. Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution THE inkey LIST - Retinol Serum The Ordinary - Salicylic Acid 2% Solution

Sephora Sale: tried & true with some new! 🛍
If you haven’t yet stopped by Sephora for the holiday sale, make sure you do! The sale ends 11/9 and Beauty Insiders get 10% off, VIBs have 15% off, and Rouges have 20% off! Shop soon to take advantage of the sale for holiday shopping or a treat for yourself! TATCHA - The Liquid Silk Canvas: Featherweight Protective Primer - I absolutely love this primer! As a person with combination skin, I try to not use heavy primers so that my pores aren’t clogged and my makeup doesn’t last, but this primer is so light. In addition to making your skin look great by blurring pores and lines while reducing oil, the floral fragrance and packaging are beautiful. On light makeup days, I love wearing this, spot concealer, and a light round of setting powder as a base. Kiehl's - Ultra Facial Toner - This is a new find for me that I picked up the other day and have already seen incredible results from! My typical combination skin has been dry in patches on my forehead and nose making it hard for me to wear foundation and or see any effects from my other skincare products. I decided to change my toner after seeing some reviews of this online and I’m so glad I picked it up. The fragrance is minimal, if any at all, and the hydrating properties are simply incredible. My skin feels smooth and the dry flakes have vanished over two days. Yesterday, I was able to wear my foundation for the first time since the summer without my skin feeling tight or having to slather on moisturizer. If you struggle with dry skin, take advantage of the squalane in this toner to revamp your skin! NARS - Soft Matte Complete Concealer - I purchased this concealer after hearing Mikayla rave about it on tik tok and needing a replacement for my benefit - Benefit Boi-Ing Industrial Strength Concealer that I’ve used for about a year! In comparing the NARS and Benefit, the NARS concealer has about twice the product! I’m incredibly pleased with this concealer’s ability to blend into the skin, be matte while not drying, and the pot packaging! If you’re looking for something to coverup a spot here and there, this is it. fresh - Rose Deep Hydration Oil-Infused Serum - I have an undying love for fresh products that began with thefresh - Sugar Lip Treatment Sunscreen SPF 15 about two years ago. Since then, I have tried thefresh - Rose Face Mask , fresh - Rose Deep Hydration Toner , fresh - Lotus Anti- Aging Daily Moisturizer , and many more. This product is no exception and is one that is hydrating while not greasy. I’m totally aware that oil in the name can be unappealing, but it provides a nice healthy glow, softens, soothes, and absorbs so quickly. This is great face serum/oil that I recommend to people with dry, combination, normal skin and those who are not sensitive to fragrance.
These Toners change my skin
🌼In honor of Toner Thursday here is my Toner Collection 🌼One of my favorite chemical exfoliants is the Kale-lalu-yAHA from @kravebeauty. It has glycolic acid but is still very gentle on my skin. It is packed with antioxidants which help with discoloration, skin texture and clogged pores. Definitely helping me #pressreset on my skincare journey. 🌼Next is the BHA Liquid Exfoliant 2% from @naturiumskin. It is formulated with salicylic acid which exfoliates and brightens skin, while also unclogging pores. I use this in the morning and it’s very effective 🌼Next is the @freshbeauty Deep hydration Facial Toner. I bought this because I wanted to try products from Fresh Beauty, and I was quite disappointed by this toner. The smell is slightly overpowering and I did not see any changes to my skin. I also did not get any extra hydration, so I would not be purchasing this product again, if I ever finish this bottle. 🌼Finally is the GlycolicAcid 7% from The ordinary. I only use this if I need to treat really bad spots on my skin which I don’t get as often anymore. So I use this maybe once a month. 🌼What is your favorite Toner? . . . . . . . #tonerthursday #naturium #naturiumskin #freshbeauty #theordinary #kravebeauty #skinroutine #deciem #skincarecommunity #skincarecollection #skincare101#affordableskincare #skincare #skincareroutine #skincareproducts #skincareblog #skincareblogger #ihaveathingforskincare #vitaminc #selfcare #glowingskin #deciem #skincarecommunity #skinessentials #skinessential #skincarereview #skincareregimen #skincareaddict #skininsta #hyperpigmentation #acne #discoverunder1k #towerthursday
Kiehl’s Calendula Deep Cleansing Foam Facial Wash I don’t like splurging on a face wash because I think anything can do the job of cleansing your face. But since I have sensitive skin, I have to consider that I should get something that won’t cause any inflammation or redness on my skin, but still cleans it. I also have a dry combination skin type so the cleanser has to take off my makeup and all the grime but it can’t dehydrate my skin at the same time. I know, it’s pretty complicated but I find it therapeutic to look through skin care products and experiment with various brands. I have been using Kiehl’s for quite some time now. I discovered the brand and all its amazing products in our local Kiehl’s shop. I love this Calendula line cause all the products in it are so calming and gentle on sensitive skin, plus they’re hydrating as well. This face wash does the job of cleaning my face (after a good micellar water) and one pump is enough to foam my whole face. I guess it’s moderately pricey for a facial wash but not extremely expensive, so it’s all good. I like to use it day and night as a second cleanse, then I’ll move on to a toner if I was wearing heavy makeup (which is rare), essence, serum, rich moisturizer, eye cream, and sunscreen if it’s daytime. This routine, and specifically this face wash, works so well for my skin. I recommend it to someone who’s looking for a gentle facial wash that foams and doesn’t strip off the face with natural oils. Kiehl’s Calendula Herbal Extract Toner This is one of my holy grail products. It’s so gentle and hydrating on my skin. I’ve been using this product for at least 3 years now, and never did it disappoint me even once. I have a sensitive dry combination skin, so I need products that are hydrating and gentle at the same time. Kiehl’s Calendula range is one of my favourite lines.
How to Build a Skincare Routine for my combination skin
I have the most complicated skin type, combination skin. Oily T-zone areas(nose, eyebrows, chin) and dry skin at the periphery are the typical features for combination Skin. How to take care of my skin correctly had been bothering me for a long time, since different parts of the face have different needs. After trying a lot of products, and finally, I found the perfect balance by following the skincare routine for my combination skin and checking out the best skincare products for my face. I try to keep it simple with these four steps, including a Cleanser, Toner, Moisturizer, and Cream. First of all, wash my face with a gentle cleanser. I use freeplus mild soap cleanser for many years, which is low-irritation and suitable for daily face cleansing for all skin types, especially sensitive skin. Usually, I use water to wash my face in the morning and use this cleanser in the evening, which creates lots of foam. After washing, my skin feels smoother and clean. Another plus point is not scented. Use the proper toner. I chose Kiehl's - Calendula Herbal Extract Alcohol Free Toner, which is one of my favorite toners. You can see there is a lot of real Calendula in the bottle. After application, the toner balances all parts of my face. My skin is not dry or oily; it's right. Apply a medium-weight moisturizer, Kiehl's - Ultra Facial Moisturizer SPF 30 and Kiehl's - Ultra Facial Creamcream are excellent matches to moisturize my combination skin. When I massage these products onto face in a circular motion, I can feel my skin soaking it in. They are light, not greasy, no smell. I feel great. My face feels comfortable and steady after been using the four steps for a skincare routine for more than two years, and I will keep this routine.

new moisturizing skincare 💖
I just recently added 2 new products to my skincare routine and I wanted to let everyone know how it’s going and hear anyone else’s experiences with these products :) I just picked up the Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Water Gel Cleanser a couple days ago to replace my Palmer’s oil cleanser to remove my makeup before going in with the Cerave hydrating cleanser. I really love how well it removes my makeup before going in with a cleanser, but it is slightly fragranced, so it definitely burns around the eyes. The other product I got (since I am always looking to try new moisturizers) is the GLAMGLOW - MOISTURETRIP Omega-Rich Face Moisturizer . THIS PRODUCT. Absolutely. amazing. My skin is extremely dry right now from Accutane, so by the end of the day it is peeling like crazy. It is such a nice consistency and I don’t have a problem using this AM and PM. It does not cause any irritation as it has no fragrance — which I prefer it not to, and it doesn’t sting at all! I’m finding with a lot of even the most gentle moisturizers will make my skin burn or sting just from how sensitive it is right now. I would love to hear any thoughts on these products and anything I should try! 🤍
Neutrogena-Hydro Boost Water Gel Cleanser
Today, I want to introduce you to espa which is a luxury skincare brand known worldwide in particular for their spa treatments as well as skincare products tailored to different skin needs and concerns by combining aromatherapy with knowledge (science) in order to bring the ultimate pampering experience at home as well. . My focus will be on the Optimal Collection today. I will share my thoughts based on my experience after testing these products in different ways for a month. My skin is combination, mature, acne prone - no wrinkles. . ✨Optimal Skin Procleaser - starting with my favourite product from the range, a multi-purposeful cleanser infused with Morniga Seed Extract, Pumpkin Enzymes and Jojoba spheres. I absolutely adore it, leaves my skin extra smooth, can be used as a mask (my preferred method) after 1st cleanse in the pm, or as a 1st step in the am. Really nourishes the skin, but it doesn’t leave any kind film after rinse, which is great. Brilliant for those days when the skin is dull and dry, especially when you need an extra kick to shed off those nasty dead cells. . ✨Optimal Skin Promoisturiser - this smells incredible (reminds me of Midnight Jasmine - my take on the scent), however the stellar ingredients are South African Resurrection Plant (for dehydration), Navarra Asparagus Extract (anti-aging) and Yeast Bioferment. 🌸 In terms of texture, it feels rich, yet very light. Absorbs completely into the skin and dries to a semi-matte/matte finish. This is recommended to be used at night, I use it at night, as well when I am prepping my skin for certain procedures and I have to be off actives. I sometimes use it in the am too, if I am stuck in the office (at home) and not going anywhere. I will however recommend to use it mostly in the pm or in the am if you don’t plan to wear any makeup as it can pill a tiny bit. Unless you plan to use a powder foundation or cushion foundation.
ESPA-Optimal Skin ProCleanser
Love me some rosen skincare ! The face wash is probably my favorite of the three — super gentle and natural feeling. My skin feels soft after use without any tightness or feeling like there’s a film on my skin. The moisturizer is really pretty and has mica in it to give you that ~luminous~ glow ✨ I love how moisturizing the toner is and it keeps my oiliness at bay!

I Used Up These 2⃣ Hyped Products, Here Is What Happened👉👉
I recently used up several skincare products. I noticed that these two products are pretty hyped these days, so here is my honest review. I hope this is helpful. 👇 Youth To The People focuses on natural organic ingredients. I love their idea of using recyclable packaging and being cruelty-free. YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Limited Edition Pride Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser Main ingredients: Vitamin B5, vitamin C, kale leaf extract, spinach leaf extract and green tea leaf extract. Among the ingredients, the cleansing ingredient is considered gentle. Vitamin B5 and vitamin C provide a moisturizing and whitening effect while the various superfood extracts have great anti-oxidant and anti-microbial properties. Feeling: It smells really nice, doesn't create a lot of foam and can be washed off easily. It's suitable for oily skin but I don't recommend it for those with dry skin as it leaves your skin dry after it's washed off. There's nothing special about it except for its nice scent. TATCHA TATCHA - The Water Cream Main ingredients: Rice ferment filtrate, green tea and algae. Rice bran keeps the skin hydrated, soothes it, and keeps it healthy. Feeling: I don't really like it as it contains exfoliating particles, causing my skin to break out in acne after using it just once. It has a jelly-like gel texture with beads that burst when it's rubbed into the skin. Simply massage it in until fully absorbed. I've read online that it's moisturizing, anti-aging and it minimizes the appearance of pores, but I didn't experience the latter two effects. It's quite moisturizing though, so I think it's suitable for both oily and dry skin. Have you used any of these products? How do you like it? Let me know😉
