Biore Charcoal Acne Scrub
The Bioré - Charcoal Acne Scrub is marketed to help with acne and to clear out your pores. So basically it’s targeting oil but it does have a low percentage of salicylic acid for chemical exfoliation and acne treatment. It has a jelly texture with scrubbing particles in it so it can also be used as a physical exfoliant. I’ve used this product on and off for about three years and every time I wonder why I go back to using it. I decided to try it because they were giving out free samples and that’s how I keep ending up with it in my life— samples. This isn’t a terrible product, but it kinda burns every time I use it. Almost like I’m using menthol on my face. My skin isn’t even super sensitive. After I’m done using it, my face feels excessively dry and tight. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone unless you enjoy your skin feeling super dry and tight. It’s from a cheaper drugstore brand but I’d save your money and try other things. I’d you do decide to buy, make sure to use a good moisturizer after because your skin will need it.

Clay Masks for oily and dry skin
Clay masks are great for helping treat blackheads and other irritates in your pores. Here are two options for two different skin types... HONEST - 3-in-1 Detox Mud Mask If you've noticed your skin gets too tight and dry after washing off clay masks, try this one. It has some great moisturizing ingredients that will help it from being too stripping to your skin ORIGINS - Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask to Clear Pores Great mask if you have oily or normal skin. My boyfriend who has blackheads and has an oily skin type uses this one and has noticed a difference in his blemishes. Charcoal can be an irritating ingredient, but luckily it is low on the ingredient list that it should be ok
🌙 CURRENT NIGHTTIME ROUTINE 🌙
My biggest skincare goals right now are focused on texture and hydration. I find it can be challenging to find a routine that is balanced in exfoliants and hydrating/ calming products. I’ve tried to rush my skin into results and it never works, and while I wouldn’t consider this my “holy grail routine” it’s something that’s working for me right now to target specifically texture, without drying out my skin. Here’s what I’m using, and why I love it! 1st cleanse: EARTH HARBOR - Sunshine Dew Antioxidant Cleansing Oil a heavenly smelling, effective oil cleanser that gently removes any sunscreen, makeup, or gunk from the day. 2nd Cleanse: CLARISMA - Cool Ocean Breeze Daily Cleanser this cleanser has really been the driver in retexuring my skin, the fruit enzymes in this cleanser are gentle exfoliants that didn’t give the dead skin cells on my face a chance! It really brightened and purified my skin. Serum: #Intoxicated Cosmetics - Snail Venom Serum[products]#[FiveStars] I just did a results post of this serum, and was amazed and how effective this serum was! Check out the post, you gotta see it to believe it 😉 Eye Cream: FARMACY - Cheer Up Brightening Vitamin C Eye Cream with Acerola Cherry I like this eye cream, nice texture and good brightening results! I’ve enjoyed using this eye cream but will probably go back to BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Marine Algae Eye Cream when this pot is finished. Treatment: HERBIVORE - Bakuchiol Anti-Aging Serum I love this natural retinol alternative! I’ve been nervous to integrate a retinol into my routine so I’ve been happy to use this alternative as a placeholder. Great hydrating and plumping qualities! Moisturizer: SATURDAY SKIN - Waterfall Glacier Water Cream love the bouncy gel texture of this cream. I like that it’s a little bit cooling upon application, calms my skin and makes me feel ready to catch some zzZZzzZ’s. If my skins feeling really dry I’ll add 1-2 drops of HERBIVORE - Emerald CBD + Adaptogens Deep Moisture Glow Oil to my moisturizers, this oil is amazing for hydrating, calming and reducing redness! And of course lip care! I always slather on a nice coating of SUMMER FRIDAYS - Lip Butter Balm before bed, smells amazing and gives my lips a nice drink! Helps me wake up with soft, hydrated lips. I also have been rotating these three masks and using each once per week! LATHER - Honey Moisture Mask with Propolis Extract : For deep hydration, and soothing dermatitis flare ups. HERBIVORE - Blue Tansy Resurfacing Clarity Mask : For resurfacing. I only use this for 8-10mins at a time right now to ensure I’m not over exfoliating or over-drying my skin ORIGINS - Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask to Clear Pores : For pores, T-zone only!
Skincare Favorites: Hyperpigmentation & Oil
These are a few of my favorite skincare products. I have extremely oily skin, which leads to occasional breakouts. The scars from my breakouts seem to never seem to go away. Since using these products I have seen a dramatic change in the amount of oil my skin produces, the amount of breakouts I get and the appearance of my dark spots. ✨Neutrogena Clear Pore Oil-Eliminating Astringent: This product is better than any toner that I’ve used in the past. It strips away the oil from my skin and when used consistently prevents my skin from producing too much oil. This product is extremely drying so I make sure to follow up with an oil-free moisturizer that is very hydrating. The combination leaves my skin feeling balanced. This is less than $10 and every drugstore or grocery store that I’ve been to carries it. ✨Dermalogica PowerBright TRx C-12 Pure Bright Serum: This is one of the only products I’ve used that has helped to reduce the appearance of my dark spots. It is very lightweight and because I only use it on my problem areas it lasts a long time (if you have dark spots all over your face like I do this can be very time consuming but it’s worth it). I began to see my dark spots begin to fade after the first week. You have to be super consistent with this product. Missing a few days could significantly delay the fading process. It is pricey but I think it’s worth the investment. ✨Venn Age-Reversing All-In-One Concentrate: This is a super hydrating moisturizer. It helps to replenish my skins moister after it is stripped away by a toner/astringent and speeds up the fading of my dark spots when used with my Vitamin C serum. The product leaves my skin looking radiant and hydrated and feeling soft and smooth. This is a pricey product but it leaves me feeling pampered and gives great results. ✨Venn Concentrated Revitalizing Lifting Mask: I use this product at night and wake up with a fresh luminous face. If I am leaving my home with no makeup on I will put this on my face to give myself a dewy glow. The product is a thick lotion and a little goes a long way. It lasts forever because you only need a dot. Because it is so thick I don’t apply it before putting on makeup because I like a matte look. This is a little pricey and I do not buy it as frequently as the other 3 products but every once in a while I treat myself.

current skincare favs and ditch list!
all of the products above are all skincare products that i have accumulated over a few months! FAVORITES CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin i reviewed this one in my last post, saying i wasn’t seeing any results. although i still have acne, my fave always feels cleaner and purer after using this cleanser. CeraVe - AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion these moisturizers are so good! they do such a good job with my dry, peeling skin, and as soon as i put them on, i see immediate results. STRIDEX - Daily Care Acne Pads with Salicylic Acid, Sensitive with Aloe (i have the off brand version since they didn’t have on brand in the store) these acne pads are fairly good and they do burn, but it makes me feel likes it’s working i guess! i do think it helps with my acne but it drys out my skin so much!!! i have to moisturize a lot because of this. i don’t know if i should ditch it yet.. HERO COSMETICS - Mighty Patch Original and Invisible+ Bundle i don’t have a lot of whiteheads so finding places to put these where they’ll actually work is a guessing game. sometimes they’ll do a great job and sometimes nothing will happen at all. it’s not he patch though- it’s my skin haha! i actually love these though! DITCH LIST Clean&Clear - Morning Burst Oil-Free Gentle Daily Face Wash although i can’t say i’ve used this consistently since i bought the small travel bottle just to try it- every time i use it my face just feels sticky? just super dry and sticky. Clean&Clear - Share NIGHT RELAXIN Deep Cleaning Face Wash not even gonna lie this worked kind of well for me and i could feel the cooling after i used it. i don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing but it was actually really refreshing to use. the only reason this is on my ditch list is because i’m biased from hyram and started using cerave lol. Clearasil - Rapid Rescue Spot Treatment Cream ok this actually sucks. i don’t see any results at all and it just drys up so quickly and PEELS. i have to use a damp cloth to scrub it off my face because it just layers and peels all over the place. please comment any advice or anything you would like to share! thank u, hope it helped!
Week 3 update
I’ve noticed I’m gained more pimples rather than losing ? Is that normal within the first 3 weeks ? Or is it a reaction to one of the products ??? It could have to do with wearing a face mask and going outside , but I need a solution 😭 See third photo for all products I’ve been using ! Is there anything else I can add to my routine or something I should stop using ? Please help!!!!

Summer Favs ☀️ To My Combo People!
For me this is a perfect solution for Summer. I have some uneven texture on my face. The t-area is always oily and always looks dark comparing with my cheeks. I like to use these two products from Origins during this whole summer. As a combo I am oily in summer and dry during Winter. For my summer skincare, I usually try to avoid something heavy (oily or creamy) that would easily breaks me out. ORIGINS - GinZing Oil-Free Energy Boosting Gel Moisturizer The entire line of origins smells very light and fresh and refreshing which is another reason I love to use it during summer. Usually in the morning, I like to use water to rinse off my face and then use a waterbed toner before applying this gel moisturizer. Since the texture is gel, I feel it is very light to use during summer times. And it is kind of fluid when you actually apply it. It is oil free and stated to be for all skin types. I love the consistency and how it sets on your face without leaving your face looking or feeling greasy. Even my boyfriend has started using this regularly and has already asked for a second tub! ORIGINS - High-Potency Night-a-Mins Resurfacing Cream With Fruit-Derived AHAs I found this cream very gentle and does a great job on soften and purifying the skin. My face tends to be quite sensitive sometimes after exposure to sunlight, but this moisturizer has been perfect since day one. I love the way it makes my skin feel. It has a little consistency, smells nice and refreshing. It spread nicely on my face without leaving it sticky or oily. It is really lightweight, easily absorbed by skin, and Glides on the skin really nicely. I like alternate between this and the gel moisturizer depending on time of year and how dry I am. This one is more hydrating. It leaves a super smooth and soft base for me to apply my makeup as well. It work perfect before make up or just alone. It's kinda high but definitely worth the price.
Refreshing or Ruining?
🍊So I don’t know about you guys but I used to love Origins. Origins was the first high-end brand I ever used and I used to love them! Love was probably an understatement at the time. With the whole pandemic going on I have been experimenting with my skincare more, trying more products along with going back to old skincare loves!! Also keep in mind I have sensitive, dry, and skin that easily breaks out. 🍊ORIGINS - GinZing Ultra-Hydrating Energy-Boosting Cream this is honestly such a good day cream. The texture of this cream is a gel cream and light-weight!! This product sinks right into your skin and layers super well on top of your skincare! Works super with your sunscreen as well! 🍊ORIGINS - High-Potency Night-a-Mins Resurfacing Cream With Fruit-Derived AHAs also such a good night cream and smells so so good! The texture of this night cream is thick and literally makes your skin glow. I did not see any pilling with this product and works super well with retinols! I think this is such a hydrating cream for someone who has incorporated retinols into their skincare routine because it’s so so hydrating!!! 🍊Do I recommend? Absolutely!!! Let me know if you have tried this product & your thoughts on it in the comments below!!!

Start of Documentation
I’m mostly using this to keep track of my skincare routine and try and figure out what works. I’m just getting into the skincare world and am excited to experiment and figure out a routine! Usually I use Aveeno - Ultra-Calming Hydrating Gel Cleanser in the shower at night and then use Melaleuca - Renew Skin Therapy which I like as a nice thick moisturizer before going to bed at night. In the morning I’ll sometimes use Clean&Clear - Morning Burst Oil-Free Hydrating Face Wash which I give 4 stars only because the beads aren’t my favorite. I’ll also use Lubriderm - Daily Moisture Lotion, Vitamin B5 and SPF 15 which has a bit of a white cast. I’ve used The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution twice in the past week which I’m only rating 4 stars because I haven’t noticed a huge difference and I’m waiting for more long term results. However, it didn’t really sting either time I’ve used it, and it’s seemingly reduced a red spot I’ve had on my nose. I was meaning to try out some other full face treatments tonight but got minorly sunburned during the day so I put on some #CareOne - After Sun Gel with Aloe[products]#[ThreeStars] which stung pretty bad. I’m still trying to find a moisturizer that doesn’t have petroleum in it so first I went in with an eye cream for the first time and dabbed on BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Marine Algae Eye Creamand we’ll see how that goes. I’ll most likely go with the Melaleuca lotion for the nighttime even though it has petroleum/petrolatum which isn’t recommended for post sunburn since it traps in the heat. TLDR: got a sunburn, does anyone have a recommendation for lightweight nighttime moisturizers without petroleum/petrolatum or not oil based?
HELP! Huge Pores and Cystic Acne
Hello all! These are the first pictures of my skincare journey. I amjust starting out with actually building a routine, working with what’s tagged in the last pic (My skin is a little red, today was clay mask day 😝) Summer weather wrecks havoc on my oily combo skin. The pores on my cheeks are HUGE, especially on the less acne prone side (first pic). I get a lot of hormonal cystic acne on my cheeks and chin. I take Spironolactone and BC but they don’t help much anymore ☹️. If you have any recommendations or pointers, they would be greatly appreciated!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Here are the few products that currently are working for me: Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Gel-Cream Fav moisturizer, just bought the SPF version to try! Queen Helene - Mint Julep Masque My fav mask for acne and redness. Aveeno - Clear Complexion Sheer Daily Moisturizer SPF 30 This version leaves my skin oily. However, the non-SPF version is fantastic, and is a fav for winter. AZTEC SECRET - Indian Healing Clay Improves pore size and acne, can be a tad drying.
🥀 Empty! Thayers Facial Toner🥀
THAYERS - Rose Petal Facial Mist About me 🤗 and the product 🥀Skin type/skin tone I have combination skin. My t-zone is in the range of normal to oily skin and I have dry skin on my cheeks. My skin tone is warm ivory with a slight reddish discoloration in my cheeks 🧐I also have some freckles across my cheeks and my nose bridge. My skin type for the rest of my body is dry. 🥀Product function The product claims to create healthy looking skin by hydrating💦 the skin and protecting it from impurities in the air 😷. 🥀Texture/consistency The texture and consistency is the same as water. It is not viscous at all, is clear and has a light pleasant smell of roses 🌹. 🥀Packaging The packaging is a simple plastic bottle with a cap on top that can be screwed open. There seemed to be no leakage when I went though the product. Beauty story📖 🥀Overall experience Again, I’ve seen 👀 and heard 👂of this product everywhere and bought it to try it out. After buying this product I added it to my nightly skincare routine by temporarily replacing it with my usual toner (not a traitor I promise! 🥴). 🥀Verdict💔💔 I really wanted to like this product but I couldn’t 😭. The product dried out my already dried combination skin and it irritated my sensitive skin causing it to become red 🥵! I thought it was something else that made my skin become that way so I gave it a second try the next day but sure enough that was the culprit 🧐. Again, after I used the toner, my face was irritated so I stopped using it immediately. I gave the product to my sister to use since she has oily skin and non-sensitive skin. It seemed to work fine for her since she emptied the bottle and did not seem to have any problems?🤷🏻♀️ 🥀Recommend?❌✅ I would absolutely NOT recommend this if you have combination, dry, or sensitive skin since it causes dryness and irritation! ❌ I would maybe recommend it to people with oily and non-sensitive skin since it does have a drying effect and seemed to be fine on my sister. ✅ 🥀Worth it?💰 I bought the small size since it was my first time using this product. The 3 oz was around $4 and the full size, 12 oz is around $10. I would say that it’s worth it 👍🏻 if you have oily skin but not 👎🏻 if you have dry and sensitive skin. I will not repurchase this product and it’s a good thing it worked on my sister and she was able to empty it for me! 😅
THAYERS-Rose Petal Facial Mist
HELP! Jaw and chin acne
Help me please!! I am out of ideas and need some guidance! I have always had oily/combination skin. For the last year I have had little congested pores all over my chin, but they didn’t turn into acne. In the last 2 months, I have developed acne all over my chin and jawline. I have been exfoliating a few times a week for the chin congestion, recommended 6 months ago after a facial, with a scrub once a week and enzyme peel once a week. In the AM i cleanse with Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser, use witch hazel toner, insta natural - Vitamin C Serum and moisturize with ACURE - Radically Rejuvenating SPF 30 Day Cream. In the PM I do double cleansing using DHC - Deep Cleansing Oil followed by either Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser or Willa Beauty clear skin exfoliating scrub. I use eb5 anti aging toner, alternate days to use CeraVe - Skin Renewing Retinol Cream Serum, and moisturize with MINERAL FUSION - Nighttime Recovery Face Cream. Most of those products I have been using for a while, the new ones since March are the double cleansing method (been doing that for 5 months, first three months were amazing!), the retinol cream, and the Vitamin C Serum. Could a retinol increase breakouts? I use it maybe twice a week at this point because I’m worried it is making things worse. I recently got SheaMoisture - African Black Soap Clarifying Mud Maskand have been using that once a week. Any recommendations would be so appreciated! I’ve done prescription products in college with little to no results, so I’m hesitant to go that route again.
SheaMoisture-African Black Soap Clarifying Mud Mask
Hello everyone, I know that is it but this is night/removal of makeup routine that I do when taking off my makeup and also for full video you can find this on my Instagram account username is provided in my bio. Also for the makeup look you guys just seen can also be found on my YouTube Channel eyeart_byrose For starters, I love to start off the with Neutrogena - Make-up Remover Cleansing Towelettes to remove my makeup. I love this product it not only removes makeup on the skin, but also on any surface that comes in contact with makeup. Next, I love to use the Neutrogena - Fresh Foaming Cleanser even though I love the makeup towelettes this product works better on your skin removing all of the excess makeup that didn’t come off when using the towelettes. Another face cleansing mask I love to use is the FREEMAN - Polishing Gel Mask + Scrub This mask is very breathable, and it sinks into your pores and removes all dirt and any oils that come in contact with your skin and once you take it off this mask leaves your skin smooth and glowing. I must warn you though the product does make your pores tingle. You leave is this product on your face for at least 7 minutes and once you take it off you notice your skin is smooth. Finally but not least I love to use the OLE HENRIKSEN - Goodnight Glow Retin-Alt Sleeping Crème this product removes any dark spots, wrinkles, and leaves your face smooth, smelling great and also glowing and hydrated.

Night Skin: Remove and Cleanse (I/III)
This is my march night skin routine Part I Skin type: Oily, Acne, scarring, pores 🌙 Night Cleanse 🌙 The Products 1) FARMACY - Green Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm Effective at removing makeup, with a very pleasant green-tea herbal scent. However, its a bit pricey for me 2) BOTANICS - All Bright Cleansing Facial Wipes Inexpensive, good at taking off makeup, and full of brightening ingredients that treat as you take your makeup off. win-win! 3) Neutrogena - Oil-Free Acne Wash Pink Grapefruit Foaming Scrub An oldie but a trusted goodie: this scrub is inexpensive and has the active ingredient of salicylic acid along with an excellent grapefruit scent. Im not a fan of the beads as much though 🌙 After a long day of wearing makeup, making sure all of it is off my skin is super important. Any debris could clog me up and make my skin break out in awful awful painful zits. So i get a dollop of the Farmacy Green Clean and rub it into my face, then remove all makeup with the Botanics Facial Wipes. 🌙With my makeup removed, I wash my face with cold water and the anti-acne Neutrogena wash. This removes any traces of makeup, dissolves oil, and cleanses my skin so its ready for my night treatment. 🌙While my products may vary, I always double cleanse. Remover + soap, oil Soap + soap, it makes a difference in my skin Please see my profile for in-depth individual product breakdowns!
