DRUNK ELEPHANT MOISTURIZER PRODUCT REVIEW
I’ve been using this moisturizer for 3 months now. Here are my thoughts: -OVERALL OPINION: The moisturizer is probably at the top of my list of favorites [my favorite of all time being Clinique’s Moisture Surge Replenishing Hydrator]. While it has a thick texture, it absorbs instantly into my skin. Immediate results include baby-soft texture of the skin, slight increase in visible brightness of the skin, and an overall glow. -PACKAGING: I love the function of the packaging [pump allows for as little contamination as possible as opposed to other moisturizers that require you to dip your fingers into the whole pot to access the product]. I also like that it helps with portion size, as this is not cheap and only requires a small bit to deliver results. -USE: I use it in the morning as a sort of primer in the morning before applying foundation & at night before bed. It gives me a good base for foundation throughout the day & gives my skin a beautiful glow when I wake up the next morning. -SCIENCE: Polypeptides are simply a chain of amino acid residues that form part of [or an entire] protein molecule. This means that this moisturizer is a combo of amino acids & signal peptides [which function to prompt, or “signal” a cell to transport a protein to the cellular membrane]. These elements combine to mimic human peptides, meaning the ingredients work to help encourage your skin’s cell turnover without overworking your body’s natural system of production. All this to say, this moisturizer encourages collagen production which makes me happy because that means constant brightness & plumpness in my skin. I always believe what you put on the outside of your body should mirror what you put on the inside of your body. This moisturizer checks that box perfectly. -VALUE: $68 at Sephora. Definitely a splurge. I might purchase again in the future, but I think there are so many other products with lower price points that do a good job at delivering [although this moisturizer has specific ingredient combinations that are hard to mimic & find in dupes & might not perform as well as this one does in problems it was intended to address].

original.megxitLove, love, LOVE Protini (and also moisture surge)! It’s a lot to spend, but it’s basically the one product I will spring for and not feel guilty. It’s extraordinary.

soumayaIt really is. After trying it, I always find myself comparing other moisturizers to this one. I hope to find a dupe for it soon bc I can’t justify spending that much on a moisturizer forever!!

Products Getting Me Through Winter! ❄
Since I can remember I've had oily to combination skin, until this winter. It's been a rough one! My skin has been SO dry, and it's hard to keep up with it. Especially since I'm prone to acne and clogged pores, so I can't use a lot of heavy creams and pore clogging products. These I wouldn't be able to live without this winter! COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence 🐌 I love this essence! This is a Korean product (Korean skin care will always be a hit). And it's made with Snail Mucin, weird right? This contains 96% snail mucin, which has incredible healing and antimicrobial properties. It promotes collagen production and aids in skin regeneration. And it's a top pick for dry skin types because of its amazing ability to hydrate. This has a jelly-like texture and I find myself ALWAYS reaching for this. Most of the claimed benefits do come with time. Another product I'm loving is the DRUNK ELEPHANT - B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum 💧This is a serum that came in a DE kit and I really want the full size! This seriously feels like a cold drink of water for your skin. It's lightweight and spreads nicely. It not only has Sodium Hyaluronate, (which is like hyarulonic Acid on steroids) but also Pineapple Ceramide and provitamin B5, an amazing humectant. As well as a lentil/apple/watermelon complex. It's not crazy different from other Hyarulonic Acid serums I've tried, but it's great! I finally got to try the cult favorite DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Cream . And wow I'm glad I did! This cream does have a few possible pore clogging ingredients so I was afraid to use it, but It's helped my dryness so much! It feels sooo moisturizing and soothing. I love that this is a protein moisturizer that has peptides, growth factors, amino acids, and pygmy waterlily to improve your overall skin health. This is an amazing anti-aging and skin strengthening moisturizer. I love using this it's a great experience. I already reviewed this incredible product, the Glossier. - Balm Dotcom 👄 It's become a staple lip balm for me. It's extremely hydrating and packed with antioxidants and natural emollients. It has Castor Oil, Beeswax, and Lanolin to seal in moisture. It leaves my lips looking sooo hydrated and smooth. It's THE perfect lip balm and I am obsessed. ~ Drunk Elephant “The Littles” Review pt. 2 ~
In my first post, I reviewed the 4 products I would NOT be repurchasing in DRUNK ELEPHANT - The Littles In this post I am sharing the 4 products I will be repurchasing and why. I was impressed overall by the 8 Drunk Elephant products, but these 4 are my favorites. The price point of Drunk Elephant products make it so I am unable to try the the full version of all of their products. I am happy with the purchase of “The Littles,” as I am now able to repurchase full sizes of the products I love. 4. DRUNK ELEPHANT - Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser Deluxe Sample This cleanser was great! I personally love a glycerin cleanser, and this did a great job removing makeup from my skin without feeling harsh. My skin felt clean after use, the formulation is gentile and caused no irritation. It’s a product I plan on repurchasing, The only reason it is at number 4 3. DRUNK ELEPHANT - B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum I originally thought this product was a moisturizer, but it is actually a hydration serum. I used this during the day and it kept my skin from getting dry and lasted all day. I was extremely pleased with the results, the texture is light and goes on well under a moisturizer. This is one I will be repurchasing and am looking forward to trying out more in the Winter when my skin tends to be more dry. 2. DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum This product was the most pleasant surprise for me. It pairs great with their T.L.C Baby Facial, I use the facial about once a week and T.L.C night Serum in between uses at night, and let me tell you my skin stays soft all week! I have struggles to find a good AHA to use at night, this is my new go to. The price is a bit high, but worth it in my opinion. I will be repurchasing. 1. DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Cream This moisturizer is incredible. The texture is amazing, it is not thick like most hydrating moisturizers I have used. I put this on and it immediately absorbed into my skin and left it feeling hydrated. This is my go to nighttime moisturizer. I have already recommended it to so many people, and have repurchased the full sized product- I cannot get enough.

Fav moisturizer for sensitive skin
DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Cream It’s a protein moisturizer that is made of signal peptides, growth factors, supportive amino acids and pygmy waterlily for visible and immediate improvement of the skin’s tone, texture and firmness. It claims to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and signs of sun-damage while leaving skin moisturized and strengthened. Drunk Elephant is “clean compatible” and free of the “suspicious 6” which include includes silicones, essential oils, chemical screens, SLS, drying alcohols, and fragrance/dye making it good for ALL skin types including sensitive skin. Protini is very lightweight and has a gel-like texture that sinks into your skin upon application. I have used protini about the same time i have used CFirma which is around 10 months. I love this moisturizer because it’s gentle enough for my sensitive skin. I felt no stinging when i apply it on my skin unlike the moisturizers i have used before. It’s light enough to wear day and night and it does not clog my pores. No breakouts from using it as well which is really important to me. It has no scent in my opinion. My skin definitely looks hydrated, bouncy and firmer after using this for some time. I also love the airtight container that pumps put a dime sized amount of product that is enough to use alone or mix as a smoothie with other DE products and make a smoothie. I have recommended and will continue to recommend this product for anyone that is looking for a lightweight yet effective moisturizer. It can be expensive being $68 for 50ml but it is worth it if you ask me. If you are like someone like me that has tried a bunch if drugstore brands, i do not mind paying a little bit more for something i know will not irritate or break me out and for that, this is a 5/5 for me.
DRUNK ELEPHANT-Protini Polypeptide Cream
Drunk Elephant Protini Polypeptide Cream Review
Drunk Elephant’s 🐘 Protini is a protein moisturizer that is supposed to improve skin’s tone, texture, and firmness through its proprietary blend of polypeptides. It is a white, thin, lightweight gel that readily absorbs into the skin. . I had received a sample of this product previously, which was my first introduction to peptides in skincare. Unfortunately, after trying this product a second time, I’m still not crazy about it. I found it is not hydrating enough (even in the am) for my dry skin, so I always mix in a pump of oil prior to applying. Aside from that, I’ve also experienced some stinging/irritation in the more sensitive parts of my face. Additionally, while this product does contain copper peptides (which have enough evidence to support skin repair/firmness), the other peptides had studies done “in vitro” (NOT on real skin as opposed to “in vivo” (on real skin). . One of my other main issues with this product is the price. For $68 I expect to get “revived, younger-looking skin, almost from the first application”? (quote from Drunk Elephant). However, all I got was irritated, non-hydrated skin. I don’t think the polypeptides have had any anti-aging effects on my skin either, especially compared to my regular tretinoin use. . Personally, I don’t think it is worth the price, especially when you can get the Acure Radically Rejuvenating Whipped Night Cream as a dupe, or even get The Ordinary “Buffet” + Copper Peptides 1% at a much cheaper price. I really wanted to love this product, especially since the LaLa Retro worked wonders for me. . If you have dry, dehydrated, or sensitive skin, or are looking to get immediate skin firming/anti-aging effects I would not recommend this product for you. However, if you have oily skin, and don’t mind spending the $$$ for a nice, lightweight moisturizer and want to try out peptides, I would get a sample first before committing. I give this product 2/5 stars.⭐️⭐️ DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Cream

Battle of the moisturizers 🥊
It is always important to use a moisturizer regardless of the type of skin you have. To be honest, I generally skip this step because I have had bad experiences. But I have found 3 creams that haven’t caused me breakouts and that don’t leave my skin oily. The first place is taken by DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Cream a protein moisturizer with signal peptides, growth factors, amino acids, and pygmy waterlily. It’s ideal for all skin types. It doesn’t leave the skin greasy, absorbs quickly and it helps to relieve dryness. The only downside is its price. I like it for the winter season, when my skin is usually drier. Price: $68 for 1.69 oz. Second place GLOW RECIPE - Banana Soufflé Moisture Cream a soothing lightweight moisturizer with banana, magnesium, turmeric and cica. Ideal for all skin types. It doesn’t cause me breakouts, it absorbs quickly, it’s very lightweight, smells amazing and leaves a nice glow. The price is quite reasonable. I prefer to use it in summer. Price: $39 for 1.69 oz. And third place goes to SUNDAY RILEY - Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream an advanced brightening and refining treatment infused into a next generation water cream. Is light and soothing, it absorbs fast and has not caused me breakouts. It's a little expensive but worth it. Price $65 for 1.7 oz

Recharge, Rehydrate, And Re-Plump With Polypeptides
Ingredients: Polypeptides Product: DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Cream I came across this product while browsing on a local skincare and makeup seller on Instagram. I trust the brand as Drunk Elephant has been raved by a lot of beauty and skincare influencers on social media, and I’ve watched tons of YouTube review videos saying that this brand’s skincare line has changed their skin. I’ve always wanted to have something in my routine to have peptides and EGF in them. Peptides are small molecules of proteins, and if you’re a skincare addict like me, you’d know that our skin needs protein to maintain its elasticity and firmness. Elastic skin surface means our skin will be able to maintain its youthful glow. It assists our body in producing collagen and is very useful in fighting against aging. I have a dry combination skin type that goes more on the dry side. Even if I live in a tropical environment, my skin needs proper hydration and care. Moisturizer is something I cannot not have in my routine. I’ve tried a number of variants- some worked, some didn’t. This cream, thankfully, works for my skin. It is lightweight in texture hence it’s ideal for the weather especially in summer. It’s rich in EGF (epidermal growth factor) so it really helps in regenerating new skin cells. I think that’s what is responsible for the smooth texture of my skin after using this for just a couple of times. I exfoliate chemically every day, and this helps me in keeping my skin hydrated.
DRUNK ELEPHANT-Protini Polypeptide Cream
Hi friends! It’s been awhile since I shared my face so here it is lol! I wanted to give you an update on where I am in my relationship with drunkelephant 🐘 I started with DE at the end of February of this year. I am now in my 8th month and let me tell you my confidence has never been better. I started a new job in Late July and they have yet to see me in any makeup! Shocker I know since this is a beauty account lol! Before DE I would never ever have had the courage to go to a new job and meet new people without a lick of makeup. Thank you @drunkelephant for giving me the confidence I’ve always dreamed of. My routine is as follows. I am now longer using the Beste or the Slaai as I am out of both and haven’t been able to replenish. I hope to soon as well as add the bars. AM: ( more like 1:30 in the morning since that is when my day starts)I cleanse with warm water only, then I go in with 2 drops of the Virgin Marula Oil, 2 pumps of C-Firma, 1 pump of B- hydra a tiny dab of a-passion I and dab each of the Shaba complex and c-tango under each eye and on the eyelid. I finish off with the Umbra Sheer. If I need extra then I also add some protini. PM: ( usually around 5pm as I go to bed around 7pm) I cleanse with whatever cleanser I have on hand. 1 drop Virgin Marula, 2 Pumps TLC Framboos, 1 Pump B-hydra, a tiny dab of a-passioni and again a dab each of the Shaba complex and c-tango for the eyes. I finish off with a little of Lala.
