THOUGHTS ON FARMACY’S CLEAN BEE CLEANSER
FARMACY - Clean Bee Ultra Gentle Facial Cleanser I’ve been using this cleanser for about 5 months now. Here are my thoughts so far: OVERALL OPINION: It is definitely gentle on my skin. I’ve used cleansers before that left dry patches on my cheeks & forehead area or that left my skin feeling tight. This cleanser didn’t dry out my face at all, but it also didn’t leave my skin feeling more hydrated/bright like other brands [Boscia’s cleanser is really good for this specifically!]. It has a nice texture & melts onto the skin easily. This is definitely one of my favorite cleansers I’ve tried thus far, but not a HG product. USE: I use this after removing my makeup with a makeup wipe. It helps break down any makeup or excess residue still on my face. I only need a small pump of product to remove everything. SCIENCE: The cleanser’s key ingredients include amino acids, sugar, coconut, honey, hylauronic acid, aloe, & chamomile. Honey is known for its anti/bacterial & moisturizing properties which makes it a perfect ingredient to include in a cleanser. Aloe contains antioxidants, vitamins A and C, and is known for its anti-inflammatory properties. This means that is very gentle on the skin & can help with inflammation of the skin [surface-level acne especially!] Chamomile has very similar properties. It is known for its high level of antioxidants & anti-inflammatory properties, which makes it a great ingredient to those with acne or with sensitive skin. VALUE: This cleanser is $28 at Sephora. That’s a pretty average price for a good cleanser & it’s lasted me SEVERAL months, so you get a good amount of product for what you’re paying for. I’d definitely use this cleanser in the future, but once this bottle is done I think I’ll try YTTP’s cleanser next.

THOUGHTS ON SHEA MOISTURE CASTOR OIL
SheaMoisture - 100% Pure Jamaican Black Castor Oil I’ve been using this product for over a year to try and thicken my eyelashes & eyebrows. Here are my thoughts: OVERALL OPINION: I have pretty long lashes already, and my brows are not too thin but not too thick. The reason I wanted to try castor oil was to see if it would help speed up the regrowth of the hairs that I overplucked in high school that never seemed to grow back. I also wanted to see if it would help strengthen my brows and lashes overall [they would fall out really easily, and although it was never noticeable & didn’t bother me, I thought there’d be no harm in trying to strengthen them using some sort of oil or treatment]. I picked this up at Target on a whim without reading reviews [which I never normally do]. I was just curious. I’ve yet to try any other treatments so I don’t have much to compare this product to, but overall I have noticed that my brow hairs & lashes don’t fall out as often as they used to. They used to come out with a simple tug using my fingers & I find they don’t do that anymore. I have definitely noticed that my lower lashes have grown out A LOT & that my eyebrow hairs are coming back slowly but surely. I don’t think the overall thickness has changed much, but the strength & length has definitely improved since using this product. USE: For months, I only used this oil once a week & didn’t notice any immediate results. The past couple of months [since quarantine] however, I’ve been using it daily or every other day & have definitely noticed a difference. I’ve had this product for a year and have only recently noticed the results I listed above, so perhaps the catch is that you have to be consistent in use to notice results. I apply it with an old eyebrow brush wand [clean of course] and I do it an hour before bed. I only use a pea sized amount & rub the excess into my hands. SCIENCE: There are two types of castor oil, one lighter and one darker. The darker is Jamaican Castor oil, and is usually associated w/ hair growth. While there is no scientific evidence or research to back claims that castor oil causes hair growth, there is evidence that its main component, ricinoleic acid, helps to stimulate the receptor of a molecule called PGE2 which is supposed to stimulate hair follicles and encourage them to enter the growth phase. This means that the acid helps to improve circulation to hair follicles & aids in delivering oxygen & nutrients for growth. So, perhaps my results are more mind-over-matter, but I do visually see a difference. VALUE: This product is $9 at Target. I might try other products once this is done just to experiment, but I would definitely suggest trying this out if you would like to try and see how this affects the growth of your eyebrow hairs and lashes as it is not too pricey & lasts a while [probably 2 years worth with consistent use].

THOUGHTS ON OLEHENRIKSEN BANANA BRIGHT EYE CRÈME
OLE HENRIKSEN - Banana Bright Eye Crème I’ve been using this eye cream for 5 months. Here are my thoughts: OVERALL OPINION: I have dark shadows underneath my eyes & have accepted that those are genetic and probably aren’t going anywhere. The color/shade of my under eyes stays the same no matter what product or treatment I use. However the brightness of the area can be improved from various products [for me at least]. This eye cream does reduce the dullness and dryness under my eye area when I apply it. I also have slight folds/fine lines in that area, and while this product didn’t do anything for me in that department, the brightness it gives makes them less prominent. SCIENCE: the creme is made with pigments that are meant to mimic banana powder, which is known for its pale yellow tint to color correct dark areas. It also contains vitamin C, which aids in boosting collagen production. This is important especially because the body does not naturally produce vitamin C for itself, so if you are not already consuming foods high in vitamin C, then your skin will not be in the most supple/firm state. The under eyes can become much drier than the rest of the face, so it is important to maintain their moisture from the inside out. VALUE: This product is $39 at Sephora, which is standard for a good quality eye cream. I previously used Kiehl’s avocado eye cream and definitely noticed the difference in quality of both products. The Ole Henriksen creme is so much more hydrating & I notice it lasts a lot longer. It also holds makeup in place, esp concealer compared to other eye creams I’ve used. I’ve been using it for 5 months and I’m only halfway done with the pot. I’ll probably try a different eye cream once this one’s done just to experiment, but this is something I’ll definitely go back to in the future.

DRUNK ELEPHANT MOISTURIZER PRODUCT REVIEW
I’ve been using this moisturizer for 3 months now. Here are my thoughts: -OVERALL OPINION: The moisturizer is probably at the top of my list of favorites [my favorite of all time being Clinique’s Moisture Surge Replenishing Hydrator]. While it has a thick texture, it absorbs instantly into my skin. Immediate results include baby-soft texture of the skin, slight increase in visible brightness of the skin, and an overall glow. -PACKAGING: I love the function of the packaging [pump allows for as little contamination as possible as opposed to other moisturizers that require you to dip your fingers into the whole pot to access the product]. I also like that it helps with portion size, as this is not cheap and only requires a small bit to deliver results. -USE: I use it in the morning as a sort of primer in the morning before applying foundation & at night before bed. It gives me a good base for foundation throughout the day & gives my skin a beautiful glow when I wake up the next morning. -SCIENCE: Polypeptides are simply a chain of amino acid residues that form part of [or an entire] protein molecule. This means that this moisturizer is a combo of amino acids & signal peptides [which function to prompt, or “signal” a cell to transport a protein to the cellular membrane]. These elements combine to mimic human peptides, meaning the ingredients work to help encourage your skin’s cell turnover without overworking your body’s natural system of production. All this to say, this moisturizer encourages collagen production which makes me happy because that means constant brightness & plumpness in my skin. I always believe what you put on the outside of your body should mirror what you put on the inside of your body. This moisturizer checks that box perfectly. -VALUE: $68 at Sephora. Definitely a splurge. I might purchase again in the future, but I think there are so many other products with lower price points that do a good job at delivering [although this moisturizer has specific ingredient combinations that are hard to mimic & find in dupes & might not perform as well as this one does in problems it was intended to address].

SAVED MY HAIR
Olaplex Hair Perfector No. 3 is such a savior if you have damaged or color-treated hair. It is a concentrated hair treatment suitable for all hair types. What’s different aboout Olaplex No. 3 is that rebuilds and strengthens your hair from the INSIDE. Most hair treatments just mask the damage temporarily. This treatment, with consistent use, will rebuild and strengthen your hair to make it healthier. I decided to start lightening my hair last year to achieve a blonde balayage. As you may or may not know, going lighter from dark hair takes a long time and a lot of color sessions to achieve a blonde look. This means I have put my hair under bleach damage countless times to achieve my color. I started using No. 3 about 7 months ago and my hair is the healthiest it has EVER been. It takes time to see amazing results, but even after one or two uses I could tell my hair felt stronger. Olaplex has a system that numbers from 1-7 now. •1 & 2-Can be used in the salon where your stylist adds it directly to your hair color formulation. •3-Bond Rebuilder Home Treatment (pictured). •4 & 5-Shampoo & Conditioner •6-Bond Smoother Styling Cream •7-Bonding Oil Olaplex is not cheap. For the bottle shown, 3.3 oz is $28. I have gone through countless bottles and recently stocked up during the sephora sale. You apply a generous amount of product to wet hair (very important) and let it dry down, they say 10 minutes is enough. However, I usually sleep on it and do a jojoba/tea tree scalp treatment the same night. Overall, if you have damaged or colored hair and want stronger hair this is the best product on the market that you can buy for your hair. Holy-grail status. OLAPLEX - Hair Perfector No. 3

Good Molecules Review
This week is finally over! I am so relieved haha I had my med school interview today. It was alright I felt pretty good. I’m just relieved that it’s over and I can just relax for the weekend. 🙌🏻 Anyways I have been really enjoying these @goodmolecules products! I have been using them every day since I got them and even though it has only been 2 weeks, I 100% understand the hype! 🙌🏻 Thank you so much to Serene from @beautylish for gifting me these goodies to try. I am so grateful 💕 🧬 Niacinamide Brightening Toner: This toner is amazing! I love niacinamides! It has helped me so much with the texture on my face and so when I got this toner, I was very excited to try it. This toner contains niacinamide, vitamin c, arbutin, and licorice extract. It claims to promote brighten and even out the skin and also help with minimizing pores. Usually when a lot of products claim to be brightening, I don’t notice that right away. But I don’t know if I’m crazy but I actually did notice my freckles start to fade. It could be the other vitamin c serum that I had used the week before or I might be just too stressed. 😂 The consistency of this toner is different than my usual toners. It is runny and still watery but it feels a bit more emollient or slightly thicker than other watery based toners. I really have been enjoying this and I think it is safe to say that I will continue to incorporate this into my permanent skincare regimen. Definitely recommend this product 5/5 🙌🏻 🧬Niacinamide Serum: This serum is thick. It is a little bit gloppy and I have read other reviews of the serum and how they were having some problems getting it out of the dropper. I didn’t have any problems with it and I actually really liked the consistency of this serum. It really saturated and hydrated my skin and I really loved how my skin just drank this up. Especially during this time of the year. I need all the hydration I can get! I will 100% purchase this after I use this up. For $6 this is an amazing serum! It contains 10% niacinamide and like I said, anything niacinamide 🙋🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️ I’d also rate this 5/5! 🧬Hyaluronic Acid Serum: This serum is thin and watery and reminds me a lot of the Sephora Collection Glow Serum that I recently used up. I love using this serum at nighttime right after cleansing my face. It immediately makes my face hydrated and moisturized. I sound like a broken record but honestly, my skin just absorbs this right up. I really do feel that it is deeply hydrating and I love how lightweight it is. I do like how my skin feels but I love the niacinamide serum better. I just love the consistency of that one more. 🤗 I would rate this one 5/5 because honestly for the price ($6) this is too good 🙌🏻 I also received their Overnight Serum but I’ve only used that one once and I need to try that more. Thank you again to Serene and @beautylish for gifting me these to try. These were gifted but my opinions are my own.
Empty: Tatcha Water Cream
Suitable Skin Types: Normal Oily Combo Sensitive Solutions: Dryness Pores Dull & Uneven Texture What It Is: Oil-free, anti-aging water cream that releases a burst of “skin-improving” Japanese nutrients, powerful botanicals, and optimal hydration for poreless-looking skin. The water cream provides nutrient-rich, balanced hydration with the unique water-burst that breaks upon application to deliver nourishment without leaving skin sticky or greasy. It clarifies and refines skin with pure, powerful Japanese botanicals: Japanese leopard lily helps control excess oil and purify skin by supporting natural skin turnover; and hadasei-3— an anti-aging trinity of green tea, rice and algae— restores healthy-looking radiance. The formula imparts subtle, shine-free glow with a touch of 23-karat gold. My Thoughts: After trying a sample size I bought the full size. After the first use I did notice my skin felt hydrated but not greasy. My pores did seem to shrink as time went on. I loved the thin water-like consistency was great for my oily skin. I felt by the end of the pot my skin was softer, more supple, my pores are noticeably smaller and my hydration level has increased, almost erasing my oily skin. This is a wonderful moisturizer with wonderful benefits, is it worth the price tag of $68, yes and no; I’m sure you can find something cheaper that gives you a similar effect, unless you just want it to display (because it is eye pleasing) I’d say try the $20 jar and see for yourself. I do feel it lives up to the claims made by Tatcha.

An Eye Cream That Works???
THE inkey LIST - Brighten-i Eye Cream This is by FAR one of my favorite products. I struggle with under eye bags and lines and they definitely have me taking hits to my confidence. However, this 15 ml, $10 eye cream is a savior is my eyes 👀👀 I noticed right away a difference. It literally says in the title that it brightens and it absolutely does what it says! 💓 Not only that, but it’s incredibly hydrating and melts into my moisturizer beautifully! The texture is your typical cream with a metal applicator that feels super cool and relaxing against the skin under your eyes. At one point in time, it did irritate my eyes, but that passed quickly so I’m glad I kept up with it. This product is a must! I hope you guys love it as much as I do! 🥰

The Ordinary 10% Niacinamide + zinc 1%
Niacinamide is great for reducing oil and sebum production in the skin. Niacinamide is also a brightening agent which will help calm down redness and irritation in the skin. The zinc will also help reduce redness and ideation in the skin. - I like to use this product a couple times a week. After using this product for about 4 months I have seen less redness in my skin. This product really helps my acne scars and I notice that the spots go away within a couple of days. I’m almost out of this product and I already have a back up.
The Ordinary-Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
GLOW RECIPE - Pineapple-C Brightening Serum I love love this serum a lot. It contains pineapple juice , chamomile, and vitamin c. Says that it helps with uneven texture and tone but also hydrates and soothe the skin. The pineapple juice helps create the look of healthy bright and hydrated looking skin. The chamomile helps calm and soothes irritated skin perfect for people with sensitive skin. The vitamin c to help reduce the appearance of dark spots, redness (hyperpigmentation) . It is a lightweight serum with a water-like kinda of oil type of serum. It smells like straight up potent pineapple juice . So I don’t suggest it to those who hate the smell of pineapple. But for those who don’t mind the smell it’s a very good product to use. I’ve been using this product for a few months now and I have seen significant changes in my skin. My acne scars are fading and my skin has been looking more clear and bright like have glass skin. I totally recommend this and it’s an affordable price for what it’s meant for!
