Affordable haircare that feels luxury✨
Nothing makes me love brand more than chic packaging + affordable price + effective formula🤍 I don't usually talk about hair products, but thought I would share two Kristin Ess products that I love. ✨ I picked these up at target quite a few months ago and use them all the time. 🤍Soft Shine Beach Wave Spray: This is essentially a light texturizing spray. It brings out the natural waves in my unstyled hair and also helps enhance the style when I curl it. KRISTIN ESS - Soft Shine Beach Wave Spray 🤍Weightless Shine Air Dry Creme: I run this through my hair after washing while it's still damp. This leaves my hair feeling smooth and quite noticeably enhances my natural waves. KRISTIN ESS - Weightless Shine Air Dry Crème Have you tried any Kristin Ess products? I'm interested in trying more of her products, especially her new fragrance-free line!
Some good products 👏
⭐️Cosrx Honey Ceramide Full Moisture Cream: My favorite cream ATM. Extremely hydrating. It's great for winter/fall, I've now switched it out for a gel cream for the hotter months. COSRX - Honey Ceramide Full Moisture Cream ⭐️First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream: A solid moisturizer. Doesn't feel heavy but is a very good moisturizer when my skin is acting out. FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration ⭐️Kristin Ess Weightless Shine Air Dry Creme: Love how this hair cream amplifies my hair's natural texture. It enhances the waves while imparting a nice scent. I apply this to my damp hair and comb through. KRISTIN ESS - Weightless Shine Air Dry Crème ⭐️Klavuu Nourishing Care Lip Sleeping Pack: This looks beautiful on the lips, like a thick, wet gloss, but doesn't actually do too much for my lips. I have other lip masks I prefer. KLAVUU - Nourishing Care Lip Sleeping Pack ⭐️Versed Day Dissolved Cleansing Balm: This gets the job done, but if you use too little water it creates a strange almost gummy texture. It wasn't my favorite cleansing balm. VERSED - DAY DISSOLVE Cleansing Balm ⭐️Boscia Vegan Collagen Booster Serum: I love this serum, it's a great texture and the packaging is an airless pump which keeps it sanitary, fresh, plus looks super cute. This is a product that you don't see immediate results with but I like mixing it with my strong LAA products. boscia - Vegan Collagen Booster Serum ⭐️Tatcha Silk Peony Melting Eye Cream: This is a super thick eye cream. It's great for winter and colder months or for anyone with super dry under eyes. I don't use it too often but it does give a nice glow to the undereye area.TATCHA - The Silk Peony Melting Eye Cream ⭐️Kristin Ess Soft Shine Beach Wave Spray: I love this spray. It's meant to be used on dry hair. It's like a texture spray but it also enhances my natural waves. A little goes a long way so this will last me a while. Beauty Superlatives - Hair Awards
Welcome to my last Beauty Superlatives featuring My Hair Awards! 🙂 Let’s start off with the fact that I have long wavy brunette hair with a huge case of frizz! I live in the east coast and Maryland weather is notorious for humid days that do not care if you need to go to work or on a date! First off is my best item for frizz, Living proof. - No Frizz Instant De-Frizzer , which retails for $29.00! This spray can be applied on dry hair and smoothed in with your hand to soften and shine in between shampoos and gets you an instant de -frizzer! I was lucky enough to find this one at Marshall’s for $19.99 with a sleep mask! Be on the lookout at your local TJ Maxx or Marshall’s. Next, is the best hair serum PAUL MITCHELL - Smoothing Super Skinny Relaxing Balm which retails for $21.00, that gives silky smooth hair with the added bonus of humidity resistance. It also helps control frizz while adding the extra shine! It smells nice and leaves hair feeling fantastic. Ulta sells this baby during their 21 Days of Beauty and I managed to get my bottle for 1/2 off so make sure you check when this sale come around again. Finally, the best tool Briogeo - Scalp Revival Stimulating Therapy Massager goes along with the best shampoo Briogeo - Scalp Revival Charcoal + Coconut Oil Micro-exfoliating Scalp Scrub Shampoo ! Both amazing Briogeo products that exfoliates your scalp with the charcoal and coconut oil ingredients. You use the therapy massager to really get into the scalp and revive it! This retails for $42.00 and $16.00, both can be purchased at Sephora or Briogeo.com. Hope you all enjoyed my Beauty Superlatives! Cheers! 🙂

Brand Spotlight – Kristin Ess Hair
KRISTIN ESS - Weightless Shine Leave In Conditioner KRISTIN ESS - Air Dry Cream I discovered this brand at Target and I couldn’t be happier that I took a chance on a drugstore haircare brand that I wasn’t familiar with. The brand features a variety of lines, which suit different hair types and concerns The Signature, Scalp Care, Revive, Curly, and Fragrance Free. I have personally tried products from every line (except for the curly line because I have pin straight hair) and I think that her products are so well and carefully thought out that she can do no wrong. An all-around excellent brand that you have to try out! FAVORITE The Leave-In conditioning treatment is by far my favorite product from the line. It smells amazing, lasts forever, and leaves my hair super soft and shiny. It has a very thin and watery texture, which means that it is lightweight and won’t weigh your hair down. Plus, its only $10 for 8.45 oz. This is an A+ in my book! SECOND FAVORITE The Air Dry Creme took me a while to love, but when I learned how to use it correctly (just read the directions and don’t try to wing it like I did) it works so well and allows your hair to air dry without flyaways while reducing humidity-induced frizz (which happens to me around where my hair touched my neck thanks to Miami weather). Like all other KE products, this is an absolute steal and I would repurchase it over and over again.

WAVY HAIR FOLKS REJOICE
I have naturally wavy but not curly hair (2A-2C depending on humidity, product, and health) and there are almost NO shampoos for us wavy peeps! This shampoo and conditioner is so light and moisturizing and has brought some of my wave back to life that I’ve been losing due to chronic illness. It is also natural, cruelty free, vegan, and has no synthetic fragrances (huge eczema irritant for me). It also makes your hair smell like a tropical dream! Love it! Amika hair products
Absolutely in love with these products- the First Base cream is a lovely thick, yet blendable cream that doesnt feel heavy when applied. I use this on my ends, about halfway down my hair, to tips, to help with frizziness and split ends. I love how it make my hair fee soft, moisturized, and I really fee like it protecting my ends from fraying. The Soulfood mask is hands down the best hair mask I’ve tried to date- and I’ve tried enough 🙌🏼 You feel a difference after one application. My hair feels softer each time, more conditioned, nourished, easier to brush when followed with a shower, and looks so healthy and shiny! I was almost finished my tub and was SO happy to have been gifted this mini! The tub lasted me soo long because I used it sparingly, so I know I’ll work through the mini slowly too

Why I Stopped Using This Brand....
When I tell you I used to use this brand religiously... I used to straighten my hair a lot more than I do now (never) and I used this when my hair was curly. I would use their shampoo and conditioner all the time and I used it for about two years. After getting more into hair and skincare I noticed my hair was super heavy and dull. I changed all my products and shampooed my hair like crazy but it did nothing. My hair felt like it had a heavy layer of wax on it and it was just gross. I finally changed the brand I was using and now I feel my hair is the best it ever has! The brand I'm using now is the best and I'll never turn back. Let me know about your hair horror stories and what helped!

TRESemmé - Micro Mist Extend Hold Level 4 Hair Spray TRESemmé - Moisture Rich Shampoo With Vitamin E TRESemmé - Moisture Rich Conditioner With Vitamin E My hair was so dry and messy that it would make my back sweat and brushing my hair became a problem lol. But this shampoo and conditioner just made my hair turn into a blessing! It smells great and my hair is less oiler then before that taking a shower once a week is enough! It has given lots of moisture to my hair and brushing my hair was just a quick and easy task to do. I don't have the exact spray because it came with the package of the shampoo and conditioner but it's a level 4 strong firm control hair spray not the micro misted one (just to let you guys know before any of you get confused😅). Anyways, my hair became soft and silky to the touch. I recommend it to those who would want this type of hair or just wants some hydration and moisture to their hair and scalps.

My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.Feb. 17
