Covergirl Skin Milk Foundation
COVERGIRL - Clean Fresh Skin Milk Foundation I know a lot of people got this for PR but I bought this with my own money because I saw it came out and I’ve been using other versions of covergirl foundation for literally years. This is a very very very dewy foundation so I would not recommend for oily skin unless you’re into looking extremely dewy. For my dry skin, it feels so thin and non drying, while giving a totally naturally dewy finish. I personally really enjoy how natural it looks. It doesn’t build at all so if you want heavy coverage this is not it. Best suited for a casual type look. Once again, this didn’t break me out (but CG has never done me wrong here so I was feeling pretty confident). I didn’t notice any smell when I used it so I don’t think they’ve used fragrance in this which I like. Biggest downside is that it does have a tendency to rub off at the slightest touch and as a result doesn’t last that long once it’s on. I’d give it a decent few hours but it is not a longwear foundation by any means. Would I recommend? Yes if you’re looking for a super affordable, easy to pick up, dewy finish foundation. Would recommend for acne prone, dry skin like mine for sure.

A love story cloud jelly toner
I purchased the a love story. - CLOUD JELLY— PURIFYING WATER-GEL TONER after ordering pretty much everything they have. This is the last thing I’ve opened from them. The toner is a thicker gel like toner that sort of melts down into the skin. I apply straight with my hands because that just feels best. It smells a bit like witch hazel but it’s pretty mild (also this is fragrance free so no added scents). It doesn’t feel drying like many toners but I didn’t find it left my skin feeling a bit sticky. Due to this, I’ve only used it at night so far because I don’t like how it feels under makeup. It’s a decently hydrating toner so it’s probably good for dry skin types but I think anyone could benefit from it. It has tea tree oil as well so I think it’s helped a bit with my acne too. The brand overall is pretty affordable. I think this is like $13. I will probably pass on repurchasing for a bit because I don’t feel like it’s totally necessary in my routine but I do like it.

Covergirl TruBlend Matte Made Foundation
The COVERGIRL - TruBlend Matte Made Liquid Foundation has honestly been one of my favorite drugstore foundations I’ve ever tried. I normally don’t like matte formulas but this one just works for me. Despite the shade being just a touch too yellow for me, it looks really natural overall. It blends out really well with a sponge and just looks very natural without being cakey. It doesn’t stick to my dry spots either which is rare for a matte foundation. I would easily say this can work for any skin type, dry and oily both. It has never aggravated my acne or made my skin feel heavy with the product on either. In terms of longevity, it lasts most of my day. By the time I get home from a full day of work, it’s looking pretty thin but not too bad. If you’re doing a lot doing the day or touching your face it might fade a lot faster than it does for me. It applies really smoothly and spreads across the skin easily. It tends to go on rather thin. I think you could build it up if you so chose but I think it’s probably just best suited for people looking for a moderately matte, light formula that still lets your skin breathe underneath. I have repurchased this multiple times and it’s my go to daily foundation.

Fourth Ray Watermelon Face Milk
I purchased the Fourth Ray - WATERMELON FACE MILK to try out. So I have no idea what spurred me to purchase this other than Instagram pressure. I couldn’t tell you what exactly it is meant to do or what skin type it’s meant for. I’m assuming I thought it would by hydrating and maybe brightening due to the watermelon. It’s got the consistency of what I would consider to be watery elmers glue which is about how it felt on my face. It never felt like it sunk in and just sat on my skin. It didn’t pair well with any other serums or with my makeup because of how it sat. It didn’t hydrate my skin better than anything else I have either and I noticed to beneficial effects. It did end up breaking me out as well so I had to stop use. At least this specific face milk contained coconut oil which I think is why it didn’t work for me. It’s not expensive but I feel like there are products that work better out there as this did almost nothing. It ends up being a waste of money because it has no benefit to the skin. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone because I just think it’s an overhyped Instagram product with no benefits and moderate ingredients.

Canmake Mermaid Gel UV
If I could give the CANMAKE - Mermaid Skin Gel UV 1000 stars, I would. This is a chemical spf that is lightweight and works well with everything. It gives a bit of a dewy finish so if you have oily skin, it may be a little too much. For my dry skin, it’s perfect! Leaves me protected and looking glowing! The spf protection is 50+/PA++++ and has a few different filters in it for both UVA and UVB protection. I’ve never used it for a day out in the sun but for a daily spf, it’s absolutely perfect. It doesn’t pill under makeup, even when I don’t use a primer. In fact, this works better than some primers I’ve used! It has the lightest, thinnest texture ever without being too watery. It doesn’t sting my face, it doesn’t cause my skin to react, I haven’t broken out from it. I’ve repurchased this 3 times because I love it so much. I really can’t think of a negative thing to say about this. Everyone needs this spf. Go buy it ASAP!

Vichy Liftactiv Peptide-c
I was gifted the VICHY - LiftActiv Peptide-C Anti-Aging Face Moisturizer for review purposes. This is meant to be a moisturizer containing vitamin c meant to brighten the skin. While I think the results were okay, my skin did not sit well with the formula at all. It is an all skin types product but I would not reccomend for acne prone or sensitive skin. It’s heavy in silicones which make it feel slick and mattifying but also have a tendency to cause breakouts for me. I was able to get away with this using it 1-2 times a week without too many breakouts but it wasn’t quite worth it. It did seem to make my face seem super bright and smooth which was great until breakouts began. It’s hard to actually see the results of peptides so I can’t speak to any long term benefit. It also has an orange scent to it which I could definitely live without. I think there are more effective vitamin c products out there so I probably wouldn’t opt for this unless you’re someone who likes how silicones work on their skin. A plus for me is that you can pick this up in drugstores rather than having to special order it. And the jar is super pretty too which is nice

One of my glowy skincare routines
Just because you have acne and scars doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try to take care of your skin. Don’t let the stigma of beauty make you feel like you shouldn’t care for what you have. I used this routine for a week now and I’m impressed at how light my dark marks are getting and the texture of my skin is so smooth and supple. The Sand & Sky mask really helps plump up the skin and that’s why I also use it over my lips. SAND&SKY - Australian Emu Apple Super Bounce Mask

Drugstore Products That Work - Versed Vit C
VERSED - FOUND THE LIGHT Powder With VC *skin is normally oily/combo but has been dry recently. Does Versed count as drugstore? I think it does? It’s affordable and sold at target right? That’s drugstore. Ok good glad we agree. So Target. My favourite place on earth. I miss Canadian Target so dearly. Anyway, I headed over to the states last year and of course stopped in at Target and this is how I tried Versed for the very first time. I had seen the brand all over the skinstagram world and had heard such great things about it. There were so many products that I wanted to try but this ultimately was the very first product I tried from them. This is a Vitamin C brightening powder which is just revolutionary. Instead of a vitamin C serum or cream, this is a literal powder that you can mix in with any of your favourite moisturizers. That’s initially what called to me about this product. I like to change my moisturizer (and really all of my skincare) depending on what my skin needs and so this being a powder that I can mix in with whatever is super helpful. It means that I can still get some vitamin c and some brightening worked into my routine whether I’m using a gel moisturizer or a cream moisturizer or whether my skin is oily or dry. This little bottle has lasted me so long because you only need to use a little bit of powder to mix in and it’s so easy to do. I just apply my moisturizer in my hand and put the powder on top and blend it in. It mixes so nicely with any consistency. I think this was only about $12 USD so about $15 CAD for me? I definitely think it’s worth it because I’ve been able to make it last for so long and it’s such a versatile product. I will say I don’t see a ton of results in terms of brightening but I do like the idea of just having a Vitamin C in my routine and I feel like it helps to even out my skin tone! Would definitely recommend trying this product!

OMG！🌟Best couple for acne
These two are the best couple of products for my acne-prone skin! I have been fighting acne since I was 16 and nothing has been able to clear my face totally. Until last month my dermatologist recommended SkinCeuticals serum and Differin Gel to me. After using them a few days a week for one month, it is very helpful for helping reduce breakouts and calm redness-prone skin. These two products really had made a difference and also seem to have clarifying qualities to it. Phyto Corrective Gel is a hydrating, soothing gel serum with botanical ingredients ideal for calming and hydrating skin. The key ingredient contains hyaluronic acid, cucumber, thyme, which help to soothe and calm skin. I think it does exactly what it claims. It calms the skin, reduces redness, is moisturizing and calming. I have been using it for more than a month, consistent night and day use is the key and not putting too much on because a little goes a long way. Best discoloration product ever! Differin Adapalene Gel, this is a great acne treatment. Prescription-strength retinoid provides the fastest results—you'll start to see changes in about a month. So it took only a fast 3~4 weeks until my skin was completely cleared, and I've never been more confident in my skin ever! I like that it absorbs easily when applied and does not irritate my skin. Since using the product regularly, I have seen a significant difference in my acne breakouts, and my skin is more even-toned. It is also smoother & softer.

It feels like jelly on the lips and hydrated for a long time. My lips are super cracked and this made them feel really plump and smooth after a lip scrub and kept them feeling that way all day. I wish it had a rose scent, but I’m guessing thats because of a lack of fragrance which I can appreciate, I’m also disappointed it’s in a pot since it’s not hygienic. Love most things Biossance, but this isn’t my fav. I’ll still use it since it works! BIOSSANCE - Squalane+ Rose Vegan Lip Balm

I do NOT get the hype on Bliss’s What a Melon!
Product: Bliss What a Melon Overnight Mask Price: $12.99 (Target) $15 (Bliss Website) Product Claims: Removes dead cells and toxins for a refreshed, dewy complexion; boosts skin’s defenses against stress and the environment, balances to calm and de-stress; rehydrates as it tops off moisture levels and electrolytes to plump and soften, and wake up to vibrant, supple skin Product Target Concerns: De-stress and calm skin, dry skin Texture/Consistency: Almost runny, light moisturizer that then dries against your skin quickly My Thoughts on the Product: Everyone raves about this products so I was so excited to try it but it was horrible for me! It left my skin so red that I had to wash it off before bed. I never see bad reviews so it must just be my skin but I'm shocked no one else had issues with it! Recommend to Others?
