How you sleep can cause wrinkles!
How you sleep can cause wrinkles!
Did you know that sleeping on your side or stomach can cause wrinkles! Mushing your face into a pillow (especially for hours at a time, over years of your life) creates unnecessary pressure, creasing, and pulling. All dangerous to your delicate skin. I've been a side sleeper my whole life (because I tend to snore on my back) and have formed wrinkles around the eye and chest (shout out to my heavy chested sisters!). I am currently in the process of training myself to sleep on my back. not just on my back, however, but elevated as well. Elevation will help with snoring and also help fluids to drain and not settle in my face. Bye bye puffiness! I picked up a wedge pillow from Amazon that has been extremely helpful with this. I also place a couple pillows behind my knees to increase comfort and prevent me from sliding down the bed. I've been doing this for a week and my face has zero puffiness in the morning now. Also, no pillow creases when I wake 🥰 I'm in the process of researching and ordering silicone skin patches and masks for sleeping and increasing the efficacy of serums and moisturizers. . Dermatologists use silicone sheets and patches to improve the look of scars, stretch marks, and wrinkles. Another thing they are great for is preventing TEWL (trans-epidermal water loss), so placing them on your skin before sleep can ensure you wake to a fresh and dewy complexion. They can also be used over sheet masks and serums to prevent drying and increase product absorption. (I may make another post on these in the future.) I will be using these, while sleeping on my back, to see if I can improve the look of the damage I've done over the past 40+ years. Wish me luck, my beauties!
