2 1/2 week update 😦

The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% is one of my latest and favorite additions to my routine! My skin at times can get sensitive because I tend to get a little carried away while exfoliating. This soothes whenever my face gets a little red and really has helped regulate the oily-ness in my T zone. Did I mention it even helps with any inflamed breakouts! I saw this stuff and was skeptical at first for something that literally cost $5, but I’m very impressed with this product and will definitely be buying another. You don’t normally expect a high-quality serum that just absorbs beautifully to the skin at such a low price point.

Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% This is my favourite product from this brand!! I started using this in January and this is my second bottle! I only apply it on my T-Zone or I'll apply it in areas that I find myself getting more acne. This product is great for decreasing blemishes and combating congestion. I prefer this consistency because I am able to wear it both during the day and night time! This product has been another great one that has helped combat my acne! Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 My second bottle and I love it!! My skin is super dry (yes even in the summer time🙄). This product has helped me combat my dry and flaky skin! Although I am not the biggest fan of the consistency, I find it's too sticky and I don't like how it feels on my face. So, I usually only apply it at night. Unless, my skin needs an extra dose of hydration during the day. I prefer applying this product when my skin is a bit damp just because I find the product absorbs better into my skin. Alright already...I’ve told you how important I feel Niacinamide is for everyone and now I want to show you it in action. Then maybe it’ll be out of my system and I’ll stop yapping about it, but probably not! 😂 As you can see in the video you only need a few drops to cover your face. I had already cleansed the area and prepped it with toner and hyaluronic acid. These are two steps I feel are very important, obviously cleansing but I am also a fan of using a toner or an essence to prep the skin leaving it damp before adding Niacinamide. You can also just use water. You’ll notice it applies like water but it does have a bit thicker of a consistency than water. If you’ll also notice towards the end of the video you can see it start to give a “soapy” look to my hand (why I took one star away). This is normal and okay! Albeit a bit annoying, I do find if I wait about 30 seconds it will absorb fairly easy. This is an absolute must for me! I went a few weeks without using Niacinamide in my routine and I could tell the difference. I like this most for its abilities to keep my face clear and balanced. I’ve only ever tried The Ordinary’s brand so I can’t at this time give you a range to choose from. I have heard Paula’s Choice has a good option and I am sure The Inkey List is great as well. So if you’re interested stay tuned. I’d also like to add that taking care of your hands is a great idea! I had a man once tell me he could usually tell a woman’s age by the look of her hands. He said, “you can hide the years written in the face but the hands will show them.” I beg to differ but I understand what he was getting at. I absolutely adore the ordinary and this, along with their aha/bha serum, is one of their most hyped up products. Most people love The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% and with the affordable price, I didn’t think twice before purchasing. The first time I used it, I broke out really bad. I couldn’t figure out what was breaking me out and I continued using this product because I didn’t think it was the culprit. After the third or fourth time of breaking out after using this, I looked through the many reviews and found that a lot of people were going through purging. I really wanted this to work for me so I continued using, even though I was sure I wasn’t purging as I was breaking out in places I have never broken out in before. After my skin only getting worse, I eventually decided to stop using, giving the product over to someone who’s skin really benefitted from it. After doing some research, I’ve come to the conclusion that the 1% zinc is what irritated my skin as I’ve used niacinamide before and it worked well for me. This experience taught me that everybody’s skin is different. What might work for me might not work for you. Always take in to consideration that the most popular and talked about products may not be for your skin and always do your research beforehand.

The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% $6 Niacinamide is Vitamin B3 which is indicated to reduce the appearance of skin blemishes. It will also help with wrinkles and fine lines. I swear by this product and has helped clear my acne so good!! This is an affordable product that many skin care professionals have recommended and still do recommend!
