KVD VEGAN BEAUTY - Lock-It Concealer Crème
I’ve been using the same concealer for YEARS. Crazy, right? So many of us like to hop around and try new ones, but once I found this baby, I couldn’t let her go. The Kat Von D line became controversial when it’s namesake did, but has now become KVD Vegan Beauty and is unattached from the tattooed icon. I seriously love so many products from this line, and have been using them for so long, I can’t imagine my life without them! The Lock-It Concealer Creme is my #1 holy grail when it comes to foundation and concealer. What I love about it: ✨ I’ve always had a hard time finding concealer and foundation that matches me perfectly, but the shade range in this formula is pretty great. I totally recognize that there will never be one brand that makes something that’ll work for everyone, but I do find their range to be better than most. This stuff matches me perfectly. ✨ The formula is medium-high coverage, super buildable, but isn’t heavy feeling and won’t crease when set properly. I always use this after foundation but before powder, and have never had a pesky under-eye crease, even after a long day at work! ✨ This concealer is suitable for all skin types - I’ve been able to use it on dry patches in the winter, oily T-zones, and my super sensitive areas without any trouble. I always feel confident that my skin will look great when I have this on. ✨ KVD Vegan Beauty is paraben, phthalate, and cruelty-free, and is a vegan brand. I know, I know, there are SO many good concealers out there, and you bet I’ve been wanting to try some. But honestly? I have such a good relationship with this stuff, I can’t see myself giving it up anytime soon…even for a day! 😋 What’s your #1 base product? Do you like the KVD line?! 📝

SLAY at home ✨💄🏠
The way I slay at home is with a bold, exaggerated cut crease with a neon ombre and custom false lashes. I have included a list of ALL the products featured in this makeup look, however, I will be focusing more on the eyes, and how I achieve this look. Firstly, priming the eye before shadow application is great. For this, I use the Revolution Conceal & Define full coverage foundation in F11 to create a lighter base for my whole eye. After I have seat that, I begin with the B Perfect Cosmetics Carnival III palette using the color Reef first to create the overall shape of where I want my crease. When I’m comfortable with that, I go in and deepen the crease with a smaller brush blending both Lagoon and The Deep. One thing that I truly love most about this palette is the SATURATION of the colors, as a dark-complected individual, I find it nice knowing that I don’t have to use a lot of product to achieve a bold and impactful eyeshadow application. Once I have achieved that, I go in with a clean flat brush and apply the Kat Von D Lock-It Concealer in Whiteout to Prime the lid, and create a clean crease. I like this product a lot because it is REALLY white, and dries very fast with a nice matte finish. Once that is dry I layer in a bit more of Reef, and Lagoon, blending them outward. I then add the Give Face Cosmetics poly pigment in neon green blending outward away from the inner corner of the eye to create a nice ombre. I then further define the crease by taking my Nyx Epic Ink liquid liner in black and trace the outward line of my cut crease to make it even sharper. Starting above the center of the iris and working out. I then take the Nyx Epic Ink liquid liner in white, and trace the outer corner of the crease starting at the inner corner of the eye, and pulling it back until it meets the black liner. I finished that with a sharp black winged liner using the Nyx Cosmetics Epic ink liner in black, apply my YSL mascara in black, and then top it off with custom-built lashes. Do You Really Need Concealer and Eyeshadow Primer? 💥
Well… Yes and no, let me explain...   So you want your eye shadow to have the best color pay off and durability possible? You are going to want to apply it on a base. Imagine you’re painting a wall, to make the color look bright and uniform, you must prime it or paint it white with a base coat then put the color on top. In doing so, you have created a base to which the color can stick to it. ❤️   Without it, your skin will absorb the eyeshadow making it dull and lifeless, and on hot days the color will merely run off and leave you looking tired.   This is why we use primers for eyeshadow, but this is the thing -  you don’t need a specific eye primer. Stop the Press! 👀You can do the same thing using a great concealer, but it must be a quality concealer with staying power. 💪🏼   As long as you use something as a base and make sure that it’s a matt product with some powder, you will notice the results, and they will be positive.☀️   Go for….   KVD Vegan Beauty Concealer - Lock-It Concealer Crème A dual product use to conceal under the eyes and also on the top lid as a primer. It’s a great product that comes in 21 shades, so there will be one for your skin color.   Fenty Beauty Invismatte Blotting Powder The next stage is to add a little blotting powder to your skin, especially if you have oily skin and are prone to breakouts. Now we are talking about staying power, and this means your eyeshadow won’t move.   Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion If you decide you want a primer and it’s always better to have everything than nothing, choose Urban Decay, it’s a great product from a fabulous brand.   Investing in the right products is always a good move.

A $7 Concealer Worth Trying
A $7 Concealer Worth Trying
Yesterday I was rushing out the door for work and realized on my drive that I remembered everything except to put on my usual mascara and concealer. I decided to stop and grab any old concealer because that’s the one makeup product I can’t leave the house without (well, can leave the house without but don’t want to lol). I can do without mascara for a 12 hour night shift at the hospital though. I stopped at Walmart and decided to try the e.l.f. - Hydrating Camo Concealer because the price was right and the shade seemed relatively close to my favourite Too Faced Born This Way concealer. My Thoughts: + Concealer is light-weight. It claims to be full-coverage but I found it more sheer than other full-coverage concealers I’ve tried + It comes in a lot of shades which is great (28 I think!). I don’t think I picked up my exact shade but it was close enough when I was in a pinch. I grabbed the light beige. + It’s a satin-finish which I liked + It blends nicely at first. I did notice a tiny bit of creasing after a few hours of wear, but nothing anyone would notice unless you were looking for it haha + It’s hydrating! There’s nothing worse than a concealer that dries out your under eye area + The price is right. $7 CAD and you get a decent amount of product + I think this concealer oxidizes so be mindful of that I would definitely repurchase this product, although it wouldn’t be my number 1 concealer. I need to find my correct shade haha :)

Overall a really nice formula for a drugstore selection. Texture is creamy, soft, and lightweight. Blends out fairly nicely and comes in a good variety of tones. This brand does lack representation of darker tones and ultra light tones but does offer more selection than some. Retails for $9.99 MAYBELLINE - SuperStay Better Skin Concealer

🌺 drugstore blush for warm-neutral tones ☀️
🌺 drugstore blush for warm-neutral tones ☀️
If you’re wondering whether we have the same skin tone, here’s 3 foundations I’ve more-or-less matched with: L'ORÉAL - True Match Super-Blendable Foundation Makeupin N2/N3 Too Faced - Born This Way Natural Finish Foundationin Vanilla PHYSICIANS FORMULA - Super BB All-In-1 Beauty Balm Cream SPF 30 in Light Aaaaand through trial & error, I’ve learned the best colors for my skin tone are: Peaches Salmon tones Rosy pinks The last of which is the tone of today’s product! L'ORÉAL - Visible Lift Radiance Cheek Duo in Romantic in Rose. Their website says the product is discontinued, but it looks like Walgreens still carries it. And I hope it does, because I really like this product. 🌺 PRODUCT REVIEW 🌺 This is a very pigmented blush and highlighter duo. Both have sparkles in them~ But the blush’s finish is like satin, while the highlighter is somewhere between metallic/ natural. The product is easy to build up for maximum pigment. In my swatches, I just circled my finger on it for a few seconds and THAT was the result. It lasts pretty much all day, though someone with more oily skin may want to blot off excess sheen. It’s definitely not a matte product. Easy to blend, easy to match for any occasion- I keep it in a bag in my car in case I need to stay the night at a friend’s and need a back up makeup kit for the next day. 🌺 HOW I APPLIED IT 🌺 I put the blush on my: Cheeks Undereyes & in the crease Since peach and pink cancel out blue under eye tones, I applied it there. I was partially inspired by Momoko makeup from Japan, where blush tends to go near the eyes! I brought it up to my eyes and crease, where it was pigmented enough to double as eyeshadow. Which I love to make the look cohesive. Keep in mind that I applied with a heavy hand in these pictures! You can use a lighter hand to look more natural. 🌸 COMPARISON TO COOLER-TONED BLUSH 🌸 Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with using colors outside what anyone recommends for your tone. Actually, sometimes “unnatural” colors are the best for experimental, creative looks. But I put the blush MAKE UP FOR EVER - Artist Face Color Highlight, Sculpt and Blush Powder in S214 to compare because it’s noticeably more cool-toned than the L’Oreal product. Sometimes, I have trouble telling if something is cool or warm toned alone. But when you put them next to each other, you see the difference. I still love this blush for more metallic, goth-ish makeup! But still, it can help you notice the colors that may be trickier to pull off on us like Mauve or Fuschia. What recommendations do you have for finding good blushes?

My Go-To Pallet gives you a Kim K-worthy contour
My Go-To Pallet gives you a Kim K-worthy contour
Who doesn't enjoy convenience? We're human. We love convenience in all shapes and sizes. Why do you think delivery apps are skyrocketing in popularity? While I love a good meal delivered to my front door, I can also appreciate an all-in-one makeup pallet.   My Go-To All-In-One Face Pallet: The Kevyn Aucoin Art of Sculpting + Defining pallet is my #1 choice for a natural everyday pallet that gets the job done fast. I find myself reaching for this pallet when I know I don't have much time to spend on my day's makeup. The pallet retails for $59. Is It Worth It? For me, the creme de la creme of face pallets is the 'The Contour Book Volume II' by Keyin Aucoin. As a longtime fan of his Sculpting Powder, which gives you a Kim K-worthy contour, this pallet comes with my beloved chiseling power and a cream version, highlighters, and four eyeshadows. Altogether, you get a total of eight pans. Naturally, the face products are larger than the eyeshadows.   I love almost everything in this pallet. I'm personally not the biggest eyeshadow person, so I use the shadows as an inner corner highlight instead! Plus, the darker eyeshadow shade can double as a brow powder for me. It comes with a huge mirror, too, making great for travel or minor touch-ups. There's also a handy guide that teaches you how to sculpt your cheekbones out and use the eyeshadows to naturally shape and define the eyes.   Tip: I love layering the Candlelight Cream and Candlelight Powder. The subtle shimmer in the powder really makes the cream highlight pop. Plus, it makes it last longer! Final Thoughts: I love this pallet, and I ultimately think it's worth it. If not for anything else, I continue to buy this pallet for the Sculpting Powder alone. It's seriously THE BEST contour powder I've ever used.
