Don’t leave your products on too long!
Okay so I’m not very new to the skincare game being that I’ve had cystic acne since I was 13 and have probably used every brand of every cosmetics/skincare that exists BUT I learn something new about my skin every day! That being said, I have assumed my whole life that as long as what you’re using is meant to heal (anything that’s hydrating, clearing, and not charcoal or an acid like AHA/BHA), I have had absolutely no problem leaving masks on my face for up to 3 HOURS... yes, sadly you heard that right. A few weeks ago, I made a post about SAND&SKY - Australian Pink Clay Porefining Face Mask The instructions tell you to keep it on anywhere from 5-20 minutes and knowing the masks I use normally, I tend to leave it on as long as possible. Today, I took it off as soon as I saw it was dry and OMG did I see such a difference compared to my past uses. Not only was my skin tone more even and face looking hydrated as ever, but it looked as if I had just gotten the most natural makeup look done by a professional. I did not get a picture of this sadly, but I decided that using my favorite glycolic mask of all time afterwards would be quite helpful (PS any night I use this mask and top with a hydrator, the next morning I have the most plump and hydrated skin ever). So yes you can change your mind about products but most of all, you can be using a product incorrectly. These products we buy are made by professionals in skincare and they know how different skin types can react.
Why I ALWAYS multimask!
As some of my followers may already know, I LOVE my wide range of masks... but sometimes my face gets picky and different parts of my face react very differently to the same products :( After using hundreds of products in my lifetime, I have decided that the best way for my hormonal combination acne to heal when I find a good product is to multimask! Description of my skin: About a year ago I watched a video of Bella Thorne going through her skincare routine and she mentioned having “combination skin where it’s super oily underneath and dry on top”. I had never heard anyone use those words to describe their skin but I knew right away that that was exactly my skin type! When dermatologists told me that I was super oily and gave me products to consistently dry my skin out, I had the worst surface breakouts of my life. When I used products that were made for dry skin, I would get a different type of breakout from the oil-based products. In college, I began taking birth control which essentially stopped my acne as a whole, but made me gain almost 40 pounds and put me at risk of stroke due to the migraines with auras I get every so often, so I needed to stop. The pill was the only product that completely stopped my acne altogether and I couldn’t use it any longer, so I had to resort to dietary restrictions and picking the perfect products for my skin. The photo: In this photo I have a hydrating mask on my forehead, an antioxidant mask on one of my cheeks, and a pore purifying mask on my other cheek. All parts of my face react differently and these are the masks that I have found worked best for these different parts of my face. My forehead is the only part of my face that doesn’t consistently breakout so I just use hydrating products on it. Verdict: If parts of your face don’t react well with a product and other parts love it, then listen to your skin! The reason I don’t use paper masks often is because all of the skin on my face is not the same. Hopefully my experiences will help at least one person on here!

The Biggie Bum Bum Cream🐆💫
I was really excited to get my hands on one of these: Full disclosure, I don’t think this size is in stock at the moment, but Sol de Janeiro releases it as a limited edition product every so often. They do have the surfboard spatula available on their site though! A nice option for those trying to keep their jars more sanitary.🏄🏻♀️ SOL de Janeiro - Biggie Biggie Bum Bum Cream $76/16.9 oz It’s about $1 cheaper per ounce than the standard size, so the savings aren’t insane— it’s definitely more of a novelty or collectors piece. With over twice as much Bum Bum (pronounced boom boom btw 🤯 ) as the standard size, this should last me a while! It also comes with the silicone surfboard spatula. 🏄🏻♀️I find the spatula very easy to use & clean. While this is a great additional tool to have for the standard size creams, it’s forsure a necessity with the Biggie! ✨The special edition artwork is really fun & even more beautiful in person! You have to spin it around to see all the pretty ladies, so swipe through for all the angles! 🏖Not everyone loves this as much as I do to buy a giant vat of it-but it’s not become a new cult favorite since it landed at Sephora 5 years ago without reason. I was initially drawn to it back then for it’s caffeine content for preventing cellulite, the long lasting scent kept me coming back the most. For most days it’s an excellent body moisturizer, but there are definitely better creams for dry skin sufferers. The texture is dense with creamy emollients like Cupuaçu seed butter, Squalane & oils from Coconut, Açaí, Carrot seeds & Brazil nuts. It’s easy to use with my disability & leaves a healthy semi-sheen with very subtle micro shimmer, extremely wearable for all skin tones. Phthalate free fragrance ☕️Back to caffeine! There are mixed results for studies regarding caffeine & preventing or reducing cellulite. I’ve had a great experience using this cream pretty frequently for 5 years, I’m 33 & still have no cellulite, but this could be from so many other things or simply my genetics🧬 So maybe Bum Bum is just my butt’s lucky charm, but I’m glad I was willing to invest in my butt back then way before I did much else thoughtful for body care... Some experts have found that caffeine is able to facilitate the breakdown of fat by stimulating the enzymes which do just that. It’s been shown to temporarily constrict blood vessels, which decreases blood flow, reducing the appearance of inflammation. This can explain the temporary smoothing results some experience. The caffeine content in Guaraná is 2-5x the amount in coffee beans! Guaraná seeds were ancient medicine for the Guarani tribe & are still used today to produce energy drinks, supplements & Bum Bum! Other products mentioned: #Sol de Janeiro - Brazilian Bum Bum Surfboard Spatula[products]#[FiveStars] $8.50 each SOL de Janeiro - Brazilian Bum Bum Cream $45/8.1 oz OR $20/2.5 oz More in-depth review in a previous post.
Minis that I loved 💘
Happy Mini Monday 👌🏾 These are some products that I actually loved and bought bigger sizes of: SOL de Janeiro - Brazilian Bum Bum Cream . Smells heavenly and leaves my skin so soft. This is costly, but its so worth it. HERBIVORE - Blue Tansy Mask . I’ve never finished a mini so fast. My skin felt so soft and clear after every use. I used this the recommended every other day and now that I have my new one I can use it every week. Nature Lab. - Shine Clarifying Scalp Scrub Yes any texture can use a scalp scrub and I loved this one. I used it as a patch test on the middle (where my hair is most congested) and i can’t wait for my bigger size for my next wash day! @cosrx : snail mucinCOSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence . I still have the bigger size of this baby but Ulta sent me a sample size which I still love. NEOGENLAB - Real Rerment Micro Essence This baby one plenty of awards last year and I can see why. I actually use this one in the morning and the snail mucin essence at night. It’s way lighter and since I don’t use harsh ingredients I don’t need the buffer effect that I need at night. Have you tried any of these minis?

I am a huge skincare lover and love to try out ingredients and brands. Check out my collection and my favourite brands and products. Favourite brands: Versed: this is a brand that I have tried many products and they have worked well for me. This is a drug store brand that is mid range. It is cruelty free and eco conscience, going so far as to state the percentage of usage of recycled material and having recycling instructions on their website. My holy grails are VERSED - PHOTOS, PLEASE BRIGHTENING TIGHTENING MASK and VERSED - Doctor's Visit The ordinary: this is a great brand as it is super affordable and it’s cruelty free. The way I like to benefit from this brand is to try out ingredients to see what works for my skin, their serums are my favourite. My holy grail is The Ordinary - "Buffet" + Copper Peptides 1% The Inkey lists: this brand is similar to the ordinary but I think some of their formulas are better. They focus on ingredients that allow me to find the best ingredients for my skin, they are also cruelty free. My holy grail isTHE inkey LIST - Q10 Antioxidant Serum Cosrx:this brand was my introduction to K-beauty and they are very accessible through Amazon ( also cruelty free). They focus on the primary ingredient that is either natural or chemical. My holy grails are COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence and #Cosrx - Full Fit Propolis Light Ampoule[products]#[FiveStars] Brands with 1-2 favourite products: First aid beauty: this brand focuses on healing the skin with the incorporation of oats which are amazing. My holy grail isFIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration Glossier: this is a brand started by a beauty editor and are all very aesthetically pleasing and gentle on the skin (cruelty free). My holy grail is Glossier. - Milky Jelly Cleanser Paula’s Choice: this is a great brand that is science driven (cruelty free). My holy grail isPAULA'S CHOICE - Youth-extending Daily Hydrating Fluid SPF 50 Pyunkang Yul: this is a K-beauty brand that started in a medical clinic and focus on short ingredient lists. My holy grail isPyunkang Yul - Essence Toner Pixi: this is an English brand that has lots of products and lines to target different issues (cruelty free). My holy grail is pixi - Hydrating Milky Mist The body shop: the body shop is a very established brand that has tons of products (cruelty free), I love their masks in particular. My holy grail isTHE BODY SHOP - Tea Tree Face Mask Niod: this brand has the same parent company as the ordinary but it is the more expensive and technologically advanced. I love that they are pushing the bounds of skincare (cruelty free). My holy grail is NIOD - Modulating Glucosides
Are they worth the try? Short answer: yes. Long answer is if you experience some pimples every now and then, and/or cannot resist picking at them, pimple patches may be for you. In my experience, they do reduce the pain/swelling and prevent you from touching it directly. I think the coolest and most satisfying part of using pimple patches is when you peel it off and see the remains. Would I repurchase? Probably not as I’d rather spend the money for a 🥪 or 🧋 however I found that the dollar store version (shown in the middle) works quite well in comparison. What are your thoughts/experiences with pimple patches?
My mini @versed collection 🖤 I wanted to take this time to do two small reviews and a first impressions on these products. REVIEW: ⚡️Just Breathe - Clarifying Serum: I have been using this product for about a month now and wow, the improvement in my acne is incredible. I have very dry/sensitive/acne-prone skin and this serum does an AMAZING job at calming down all my acne, reduces the redness in my skin and I just love how gentle it is on my skin. I will be using this product for a VERY long time. I need to stock up on my few bottles soon. ⚡️ The Shortcut Overnight Facial Peel: Okay so at first I was very skeptical about this product. I wasn’t sure how well this peel would work for me, but then again I’m not familiar with peels because I never bothered to give them a try. Let me tell you.. I am so happy I bought this product. I’ve been using this twice a week for the past 3 weeks and my skin the next morning, is GLOWING. It’s perfect for acne-prone sensitive skin. Another amazing product from Versed that I will re-purchase once I finish this tube. FIRST IMPRESSION: ⚡️Found the Light - Powder w/ Vitamin C ⚡️Stroke of Brilliance- Brightening Serum: I just bought these this past week and had the chance to use them twice so far. With these type of products, you see results with a more consistent/long term use, so nothing was seen immediately, but it didn’t further irritate my acne at all, which makes me very happy. I can already tell I am going to love these two products the longer I use it. What is your favorite versed product? 😍
HOW TO: Vitamin C. All Tips and tricks!
Skin need a little pick me up? Some brightening? You definitely need to add Vitamin C to your routine! Our skin naturally produces vitamin c, but as we age the amount we have naturally becomes less and less. Sun exposure and pollution accelerate the loss of natural VC. Why Vitamin C? It’s a powerhouse ingredient! it evens out skin tone reduces fine lines and wrinkles protects skin from environmental stressors And radical damage “Problems” with Vitamin C it’s extremely sensitive to air and light. It’s oxidizes and breaks down. It loses it potency. packaging needs to be opaque and let as little light in. It also needs to be able to be closed and keep air out. YOU NEED TO WEAR SPF when using vitamin c. Your skin becomes more sensitive to the sun. *from my own personal experince, I felt burning and breakouts from taking any dog for a walk after applying my VC and no sunscreen.* How to use it in your routine? apply morning and night. Always use SPF in the day time with it. apply in the typical order of your routine. If it’s a serum, apply from thinnest to thickest serums. Vitamin C works just fine with other ingredients, so feel free to use it with Niacinamide and even retinol. Just be wary of what your skin can handle MY FAVORITE VITAMIN C PRODUCT: VERSED - FOUND THE LIGHT Powder With VC + powder form has a longer shelf life. + add to/mix into your favorite serum or moisturizer. + a lot more effective that I thought it would be! + noticed visible brightening and faded dark spots within the first 3 days of use. + fine powder that mixes in perfectly with other products. + made with tapioca starch. No talc. $19 0.3 oz/10g available at target or on Versed website. I bought this on clearance for $10!

I’ll start this off with my favourites: MISSHA - Missha All-around Safe Block Essence Sun Milk I’m so sad that I’ve run out of this. If you don’t like the feel of sunscreens that feel thick and heavy, pick this up! you won’t regret it! I also ran out of the Volition sunscreen that I paired along side this one, but recycled it before I took a picture. Briogeo - Don't Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Hair Mask (📍) Again, was so sad to run out of this, check out my post featuring this and the new hair mask I picked up for more info! THE inkey LIST - Niacinamide Oil Control Serum If I could give this 100 stars out of 10, I would. This is my favourite serum of all time and I always have two back ups in my collection! Now for my meh products: SUNDAY RILEY - CEO 15% Vitamin C Brightening Serum I liked the way that this felt don’t get me wrong, but I think because of the shimmer effect it has, it may have been breaking me out a bit. This didn’t have enough in it to last me long enough to see any effects. Kate Somerville - DeliKate Recovery Cream this is unbelievable. Although I will never buy this at the $104 price point, it’s a beautiful, thick, heavy cream. Wonderful for winter skin. fresh - Sugar Hydrating Lip Balm, Watermelon I actually have the lime+mint scent, but this is also amazing. I’ve just began started applying all my lip balms on damp lips, and I’ve found it’s made the biggest difference. No more dry lips! DRUNK ELEPHANT - Sili™ Body Lotion (📍) If you’ve seen my marula oil post, you’ve seen that I don’t support Drunk Elephant anymore, this is one of my last products I have from them (that they sent me) and it was too light to be a body cream. I have really dry legs and this didn’t do the trick. I ended up keeping this on my desk as a hand lotion and it worked well! Now for my no good product: Too Faced - Better Than Sex Mascara (📍) I don’t understand that hype around this mascara. On me, it doesn’t make my lashes look longer or fuller, it flakes super easy and it doesn’t hold my curl. Happy to have finished this so I can move on. 📍= product was sent to me for free
Lastest Inkey Order
Hey y’all! So, put in a new inkey order. I’m totally in love with their Q10 serum. Makes my skin super dewy, feels hydrated, and it has its benefits as an antioxidant. I love it primarily because it makes my niacinamide sticky feeing go away! I have only ever tried TO’s niacinamide serum, so giving inkey’s a go. I have heard that the inkey’s is better if you have drier skin, so hoping this works out! I have never tried any squalene oil or alpha arbutrin, so this will be a first for me. If you have any tips, leave them below! ✨✨✨✨✨
The only products I didn't see working!
Do you like Skin & Co? I have used few of their products and they weren't really impressive for me! These three I use currently and I don't like these much either! I feel like these are the products which have great packaging, look and smell good but when it comes to performing they don't do much! Also, it's not very affordable not to feel bad about spending on these. I would purchase anything but these again. A fairly new product added to my collection is their Sardinian Spirit shower gel SKIN&CO - Sardinian Spirit Limited Edition I really had high hopes for this but it sadly smells overwhelming and spicy. I think I have never had bodywash or shower gel smelling this weird and the texture and formula is very liquidy. I like my bodywashes either thick or creamy. It's none of that. The good old scrub is actually the only product I find decent. SKIN&CO - Truffle Therapy Gommage It's a physical scrub with really fine granuals. And it smells delicious! It's not harsh on skin because of it's soft creamy formula. I like to use it on my neck and hands more! The Truffle Therapy toner is another disappointment. SKIN&CO - Truffle Therapy Face Toner It is a good hydrating toner. Apart from that I have seen no results with this. I believe a toner should do atleast balancing skin's PH but with this, I see only a fragranced water filled in a fancy packaging. Their all products have big claims but I wouldn't fall for it. I think my skincare choices are always inclined towards effective actives than gentle or non-active filler products. I like non-active skincare too, infact I use it all the time when I take a break from actives. But some products don't necessarily do anything to skin and I believe that makes it just a filler product. If you're to try the brand, try only the Gommage! SKIN&CO - Truffle Therapy Gommage
Review my Routine
I started noticing my skin changing when I turned 28, now I’m 30 and I’ve had a hard time figuring out what works for me now. I’ve noticed enlarged pores and redness in the cheeks. My skin has gotten VERY sensitive and through this journey I found that Retinol, Salicylic Acid and HA are very harsh for my skin. Also products with Alcohol, strong fragrance and exfoliators are big NO for me. So I started reading a bit and found the products I’m using now. I’ve been using them for about 1 week and hopefully I’ll see some improvement. Here they are: 1. Cleanser: Cetaphil - Redness Relief Face Wash I’ve have noticed it helps soothe my skin and doesn’t leave it overly dry. 2. Cleanser (if I used makeup): GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Cleanser & Waterproof Makeup Remover Not harsh, gets rid of makeup fast. 3. Avène - Thermal Spring Water Spray Love spraying this after showering and drying off, it just helps soothe my skin even more. 4. Toner: SKIN&CO - Truffle Therapy Face Toner I’m not sure if I totally like it yet, haven’t seen much of an effect or change. 5. Eye cream: N°7 - Protect & Perfect Intense Advanced Eye Cream 6. Face oil: feel - Bright Another product I’m not sure is working that much. 7. Day moisturizer: Cetaphil - Redness Relief Facial Moisturizer SPF 20 It does relieve the redness but it’s still very visible. 8. Night moisturizer: Cetaphil - Redness Relief Night Cream Super moisturizing without it being to heavy or sticky. 9. Bonus! ELEMIS - Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm Use it once a week as a deep moisturizer and definitely wake up feeling my skin tighter and brighter. And that’s it! Please let me know what you think ☺️ #reviewmyroutine

Reviewing My Followers Skincare Routines pt. 2
Hey y’all! This post is part 2 of my last post, which was me reviewing my followers skincare routines. That post would’ve been too long to do in one post, so here’s part 2! If you haven’t read part 1 I suggest you do, but this will still make sense if you haven’t. Someone messaged me concerned I was assuming pronouns, but I must assure you that I did ask. Our first routine comes from @matureskinwithErin. She starts off by cleansing with the#Murad - Resurgence Renewing Cleanser[products]#[TwoStars] which is $40 for 6.75 fl oz. This cleanser does have glycerin and a bunch of hydrating oils, but because of 2 ingredients I can’t in good faith support it. First is that it has fragrance, but the more important one is that it has lemon extract. Because lemon is a citrus fruit, it can be up to 5x more irritating in skincare. In general, you want to avoid all citrus extracts and oil. Next for a little bit of extra cleansing, she goes in with theBIODERMA - Sensibio H2O Soothing Micellar Cleansing Water which costs $14.90 for 16.7 fl oz. Because it’s a micellar water, there’s not a lot to say about it other than your getting a great deal. She then goes in with a Vitamin C serum, but I don’t know which one. I think is is unnecessary because of the next product that also has Vitamin C. Next she uses her LED light therapy mask (check out my resent post on these) with the#Paula’s Choice - RESIST Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum[products]#[FourStars] which costs $39 for 1 fl oz. This serum seems pretty good, even though it’s expensive. It has antioxidants including Vitamin E and C, Vitamin C also adds a brightening effect, and it has Ceramides, which help protect the skin from environmental damage such as pollution. Next she uses theDHC - Concentrated Eye Cream which is $35 for .7 fl oz. This eye cream seems to be really hydrating which is amazing for @matureskinwithErin’s dry skin! It has a lot of glycerin and squalane, both super hydrating ingredients, plus it has some cucumber extract, which is brightening and soothing. And finally she uses the#Paula’s Choice - CBD Oil + Retinol[products]#[FourStars] which is $54 for 1 fl oz. I do know that CBD oil and Retinol work great together to prevent severe aging, but as CBD oil is a new ingredient, there isn’t a ton of research. (For all about CBD check out my post on it) Not to mention this product also has Squalane! I think it’s a great product overall! BUT again we need some moisturizer and sunscreen! If y’all need recommendations, I can totally make a post and them! Our next routine comes from @EZ. She starts off by cleansing with the CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser which is $14 for 16 fl oz. This a a great cleanser for normal to dry skin, and it had both glycerin and hylauronic acid. Next she goes in with the#Tonymoly - Vital Vita 12 Poresole Ampoule[products]#[ThreeStars] which costs $20 for 1 fl oz. This serum has a super long ingredients list, which is generally not a good thing in serums. Let’s start with the positives: this serum has Nicinamide, glycerin, squalane, lactic acid, Vitamin C, salicylic acid, and glycolic acid. The issue is that in between these awesome ingredients are tons of essential oils and extracts that can potentially irritate the skin. I went through and counted. There are 7 essential oils, and 12 extracts. If this product doesn’t irritate your skin @EZ, keep using it, but I have to warn people with sensitive skin to stay away. Now @EZ also uses 2 other treatments, but she never uses all 3 on the same day, which is an amazing practice to avoid irritation. Yes, your skin can breakout from too many ingredients! Now her first alternate treatment is#The Ordinary - Nicinamide serum[products]#[FiveStars] which is $5.90 for 1 fl oz. As you know, this is one of my favorite serums, super simple and efficient. Her other alternative treatment is the ordinary The Ordinary - Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2% which is $5.80 for 1 fl oz. The main ingredient in this is of course Vitamin C, and it also has a lot of squalane. So in her post she mentions that she has to mix this with her moisturizer otherwise it stings her face. I know exactly why. Most products with Vitamin C are formulated with 10-15%. Anything over this can be too much for people with sensitive skin such as @EZ because Vitamin C is very strong. I suggest you stop using this immediately, even mixed with moisturizer, because it’s clear your skin isn’t a fan. She also has 2 moisturizers that she switches out for. Her normal moisturizer is theCeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin which costs $11.99 for 8 fl oz. This a a super simple hydrating moisturizer which is great for combination skin like @EZ has. Her other moisturizer is theI DEW CARE - Say You Dew Moisturizing Vitamin C Gel + Cream which costs $23 for 1.69 fl oz. This is an interesting 2 in 1 moisturizer that you mix together. However I hate it. Here are the positives: glycerin, and nicinamide. And the negatives: it has a ton of fragrance, and a ton of irritating extracts and oils. One of those being lemon extract, which is awful. And finally she ends with a sunscreen with spf 50 (she doesn’t say which one). She says her sunscreen is greasy, so leave recommendations for her in the comments. I recommend theSupergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 and theLA ROCHE-POSAY - Anthelios Dermo-Kids Gentle Sunscreen Lotion SPF 60 . So here’s what I’d do @EZ: keep your cleanser, keep your 2 serums because they seem to work for you, ditch the Vitamin C cream, and ditch the I Dew Care moisturizer. Keep the other moisturizer though and hunt for a sunscreen you love. Alright y’all that’s all I have for today, but look out for pt. 3 coming sometime next week. Please cheer for this post, comment below your sunscreen recommendations for combination sensitive skin, and follow me for similar content! -Mae
Let’s talk toners
Toners...remove any last traces of dirt and grime stuck in your pores. They are really useful for people with oily/ acne prone skin. Toners with good ingredients can restore the ph balance of your skin, clean clogged pores and prep your skin for the next step of your skincare routine. But make sure you choose a toner that has good and clean ingredients otherwise it will end up stripping your skin. Choose wisely! I listed the four toners that I am currently using. Rating them from best to worst from my personal experience. 1️⃣ CAUDALIE - Vinopure Natural Salicylic Acid Pore Minimizing Toner love love love this toner! The bottle I currently use is almost finished in a month and I am definitely going to repurchase it. That’s how much I love it! Lol! It vegan and cruelty free which is great. It has surely help unclog my pores to a certain extent. It’s mild aroma really soothes me and makes my skin cleaner. It has salicylic acid which helps fight my acne as well. Overall a win-win and definitely a repeat buy for me. 2️⃣ #Frudia - Avacado Relief Essence Toner[products]#[FourStars] I have only recently started using it so cannot talk much about it. Though the initial reviews are great. It’s vegan and cruelty free which is something I am keen on and trying to transition all my skincare to. It has over 60% avacoado extract and amino acids that are really great for both oily and sensitive skin types. Really excited to this and if I love its long term effects then I will try the FRUDIA - Pomegranate Nutri-Moisturizing Tonernext. So fingers crossed! 🤞🤞🤞 3️⃣ THE BODY SHOP - Tea Tree Skin Clearing Mattifying Toner I like this product because there was a time when nothin else helped me keep my acne in check except for this one toner! That was when I didn’t know much about skincare. It has been a long journey since then and now I like to keep myself updated with the ingredients and what they really do to our skin. On the flip side this one contains alcohol which is a bit drying at times. Because of this I won’t be re-buying. 4️⃣ THE BODY SHOP - British Rose Petal-Soft Gel Toner I don’t really use it on my face anymore. Only on my neck and hands. It has a lot of fragrance which is something I am really trying to avoid right now. I feel like harsh ingredients like alcohol, fragrance etc. are really stripping on my skin especially my hormonal acne which can really get worse at times. So I wouldn’t really recommend this to anyone. But since I have bought it and paid good money for it I don’t wanna throw it either. I think as consumers we should be more responsible about product buying and wastage. So I use it on the rest of my body but will definitely not re-buy it. Phew! That is a long post. If you made it till then end I would love to know what you think about my post and these products. If you didn’t make it till the end I would still love to know when I lost you!
Organic Toner is a No No 😕
Here is the Caudalie Vinopure Toner. A Natural Salicylic Acid Pore Minimizer ✨ I’ve heard so much great things about this purifier toner to help clear skin by getting rid of acne, blemishes and pores. Although I’ll talk about the good things about this product that I loved: •organic🌿 •cruelty-free🐰 •preps the skin •refining texture •tighten pores •purification made with a good amount of concentration of natural salicylic acid and grape polyphenols🍇 BUT THIS PRODUCT STATES ITS FRAGRANCE FREE AND MEANT FOR SENSITIVE SKIN IT IS NOT❌ There is different forms of fragrance within the product such as: Citric acid, limonene, citronellol, and other essential oils that act as fragrance that can be VERY SENSITIVE TO THE SKIN. If you are looking for a fragrance free toner this isn’t the one for you. Can cause a lot of irritation and redness to the skin. From experience I have bought this product before knowing anything about ingredients inside skincare products. Using this product caused my skin to breakout more and cause more redness with irritation. Not made for sensitive skin 🙃 Overall I loved the product just didn’t like the fact it had a lot of fragrance but I did like how it worked, but the treatment didn’t last long on me
Sephora favorites samples worth it? 👀✨
When I saw this Sephora favorites bag, I really wanted to get it for the ren body serum and the caudalie gel cleanser. I debated if it was even worth it, I bit the bullet and got it. I’ve got to say these are worth it. It’s great that it includes a 15% off code for each item. The caudalie purifying gel cleanser is 1oz. The full size is $28 for 5oz so it comes out to $5.60 and oz. first time I tried it it felt really good on my face. Didn’t dry me out and if I end up loving it I’ll have to get the full size. CAUDALIE - Vinopure Pore Purifying Gel Cleanser Ren clean skincare body serum, this came in a great 1.7 oz. The full size is $42 for 6.8 oz. so it comes out to about $6 with some change. I’ve been using this for a couple days and it feels great on my skin. REN CLEAN SKINCARE - AHA Smart Renewal Body Serum Lancôme mascara. This is the mini 0.06oz. The full size is $25 for 0.33 oz, $13 for the 0.13 travel size so the mini 0.06 comes out to $6.50. Pretty nice mascara so far. It doesn’t clump up. LANCÔME - Monsieur Big Mascara Ouai hair oil. This came in the 0.33 mini size. The full size is $28 for 1.5 oz, $14 for 0.45 oz. This mini size I will assume it’s about $10-12. Just used this oil and it’s incredibly soft. The downside is the smell. It’s pretty heavy but it kinda smells like gardenia flowers to me. OUAI - OUAI Hair Oil Make up for ever ultra HD microfinishing loose powder. It’s in a tiny 1 g jar. The full size $36 for 8.5 g, $20 for 4 g travel size so the 1 g jar would be about $5. I’ve had this powder before and really likes it a lot. It’s super fine which I love. It sets my makeup well and hasn’t given me that many creases. MAKE UP FOR EVER - Ultra HD Microfinishing Loose Powder Versace perfume sample. In a very tiny spray. It’s 0.03 oz. The travel size in a spray is $30 for 0.3oz. So for 0.03 it would be about $3.75 I’ve had this in the travel size roller ball. Really nice perfume with flowery notes. I love the peony, lotus and magnolia scents. VERSACE - Bright Crystal Eau de Toilette This bag was definitely worth it to me. I ended up liking every single product. As in the price, I’d say it’s pretty good. Personally the value of the bag is more than the $10 I spent. This may definitely not be correct but this bag could have a value of about $37! The math could be way off but to me I really liked this. Have you tried or bought this bag, or are you not interested?
🌟My Skincare Journey: Adult Acne ❕❕💫
Pimples don’t stop at puberty. And I learned the hard way 😭. I was lucky to not have had a lot of breakouts in my teens. But it hit me when I turned 20 (2 years ago!). All the insecurities I thought I confronted when I was in high school, all came flooding back. 😳 🌱2018: Painful Acne🌱(2nd slide, left pic) I don’t have many photos of myself from 2018 because I was so insecure about my skin. I would pick at it and avoid mirrors at all costs. And at times it even hurt to touch my face. The pic shown, was me on a VERY good skin day and one of the only photos I have of myself without makeup in 2018. 🌞What I wish I knew: just because my skin is having trouble, DOES NOT equal needing more products! it’s all about using the right ones. STOP over-exfoliating! ESPECIALLY with harsh acids everyday. try not to pick! (Easier said than done) your worth is not defined by your skin! (ALSO easier said than done) SUNSCREEN!!!!! 🌱2019:Scarring🌱(2nd slide, pics on the right) Finally seeing results in my skin! But I wasn’t prepared for the scarring and texture. What made it even more obvious was the makeup I was using. It also dried out my skin (which was already flaky w/ dry patches & oily at the same time😭). My skin also seemed dull and tired—which was probably to do with the anxious over-cleansing. I was terrified my acne would come back! 🌞What I wish I knew: treat your makeup like your skincare. ingredients are so important! don’t cleanse in the AM like you do in the PM. you’re stripping your skin and increasing the overproduction of oil=oily, flaky, dry MADNESS 🥴 be kind to yourself! you’re seeing results 💓 🌱2020: Feeling better, still learning I’ve FINALLY found a routine that’s helped me. And I am no longer afraid of the mirror. And TBH I never should’ve been! Confidence comes with time and while no one wAnTs acne, it is normal and we should de-stigmatize acne. We shouldn’t treat ourselves (or let others) poorly because of it. (‼️SIDE NOTE: if you are having serious, painful, etc. acne, see a dermatologist or a professional‼️) PRODUCTS USED: (they do change occasionally but these are staples!) NEW Naturium & Farmacy BHA comparison
Naturium and Farmacy were both gifted in PR. I have oily, dehydrated, acne prone sensitive skin at the moment. For full review on Farmacy’s BHA, check out my page. Here’s a comparison to Naturium’s new BHA ($20/4 oz) and which one I prefer! I have been using Naturium for nearly two weeks. The product is marketed toward all skin types, and claims to do exactly what a BHA does: exfoliates/clears pores, even tone, and smooth fine lines. My experience with this product so far is nice. It’s a more hydrating product, so my dehydrated skin loves it. It’s also alcohol free, oil free, and fragrance free, making this perfect for sensitive skin. The formula is relatively basic, which isn’t bad at all, considering the price! Since my skin is used to salicylic acid, I’ve used this daily since receiving it with no issues. I love to use SA in the morning after I cleanse, and this is the perfect toner step. If you normally tone after cleansing, I definitely recommend using this. My skin is left feeling balanced and it leaves no residue. My pores are noticeably better and I am less oily overall, thanks to the SA. Comparing this to Farmacy’s: Overall, both formulas work similarly, however for oily skin I am leaning more toward Farmacy. I find myself gravitating toward the formula more because it absorbs quicker, has more added benefits and feels more refreshing on my oily skin. If you prefer using SA at night or have drier skin, Naturium is a great option for the added moisture, plus it is more wallet friendly. I just prefer SA in the am, so I prefer what feels best for me during the day.
These masks are new addition to my routine on top of my all time favorite cleanser, KORRES - Greek Yoghurt Foaming Cream Cleanser 💦 This cleanser is so gentle on skin & feels so refreshing but not stripped after washing off. Texture is very light and foams up easily. It’s perfect for my combo skin since it doesn’t over hydrate nor strip and balances my skin. KORRES - Hydra Biome Probiotic Superdose Face Mask With Real Greek Yoghurt is a perfect mask for irritated & dry skin. During allergy season, this is exactly what I need👍 It feels cooling on skin & helps with redness on my cheek & around nose area. Texture is thick for a mask & lays beautifully on skin before washing off. I see significant difference on skin using this mask. KORRES - Wild Rose Vitamin C Brightening Sleeping Facial is a overnight mask to help dull skin. My combo skin tends to look uneven & dull throughout the year. Key ingredients include vitamin C & wild rose that helps brighten your skin⚡️ I’ve used it for a week or so now and I can definently see the brightening effect on my cheek area where I have some discoloration from acne. #cheriecreator

Textures are everything 😍
Being a skincare addict comes with being addicted to textures. I love textures because they really help me figure out whether I love/like a product or not. These 3 textures are super different from one another but really make a difference on my skin! belif - Pore Cleaner Bubble Foam This cleaner is really interesting because it goes on like a gel but it foams up and it feels like the bubbles are cleansing your skin! I like it but I find it to be too stripping on my skin OLE HENRIKSEN - Transforming Walnut Scrub This walnut scrub is semi-gritty and super gentle. I like to use this on a monthly basis to just slush off all the dead skin cells! Sometimes you just need a good physical exfoliater! MISSHA - Essence Sun SPF 45 PA+++ This sunscreen has been such a life savior for me the past few weeks. It has a satin finish and doesn’t leave a white cast! Even though it’s a chemical sunscreen I find that it doesn’t seem to irritate my skin at all! I love that about this sunscreen & it’s a must-have in my daily routine. These products are nice but I highly recommend the ole henriksen scrub & missha sunscreen, and the belif one only if you like a super stripping cleanser!

Grateful to be chosen by @stylekorean_global to review 𝐂𝐨𝐬𝐫𝐱’𝐬 𝐀𝐂 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧🌹 Cosrx AC line contains BHAs & essential oils. Because i’m on tretinoin, I tested out the line 𝐎𝐍𝐋𝐘 𝐝𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐲 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 & max of 3 times a week. So this review is based on the limited usage of these products ☺️ _________________________________ 🔆 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐚𝐦 𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐫- salicylic acid face wash that helps unclog pores & treat lesions. This may be a lil drying for dry skin but works perfectly fine for me. It’s not as stripping as other SA cleansers I have. Does the job. 🔆 𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐰𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐬𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐨𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐫- propolis & aloe based gel moisturizer, i love its texture! I like its combination of powerhouse calming and hydrating ingredients— green tea, niacinamide, panthenol, sodium hyaluronate, zinc pca, centella complex. This feels very soothing & really does calm my skin. Also has tea tree which is a great anti microbial, was previously one of my favorites ingredients but apparently, it has fragrant compounds so it isn’t safe for long term use. The formulation also has Mint extract. Tea tree, mint, propolis are huge potential irritants. But overall, I still really enjoy this product. ~this is more like a humectant only, has to be sealed in with an occlusive 🔆 𝐚𝐜𝐧𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡- as usual it works great! Cosrx is my most trusted brand for pimple patches. They work wonders on cystic acnes-look nowhere else! 🔆 𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐭 𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐮𝐦- could have been a great niacinamide serum w/ ceramide and peptide. The addition of tea tree & propolis being on top of the ingredients is my only apprehension. This is very hydrating but I would not use it everyday. 🔆 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐝 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐝- i find this formulation a great anti-inflammatory. It’s a green tea based toner w/ BHA (Betaine salicylate) & PHA plus tea tree & centella. This is free of alcohol. But works really well in breaking down sebum. 🔆 𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐭 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦- this was okay, did not do much for me. I will opt for the pimple patches.

Brand spotlight: Neogen
▶️NEOGENLAB - Real Fresh Cleansing Stick Green Tea - winner of the 2017 Teen Vogue Acne Awards and deemed “one of the coolest creations to come out of Korea,” this travel friendly and all in one stick cleanser was formulated with 13 botanical oils to breakdown makeup, sunscreen, and cleanse your skin of all impurities. There are also natural green tea leaves imbedded in the cleansing stick to provide a gentle exfoliation to reveal brighter more even toned skin. I’ve tried stick cleansers in the past and while they were convenient for traveling, they always left a film on my skin and tight afterwards. I had the same reservations about this one but to my surprise, this left my skin feeling hydrated and fresh. I assume it’s because of the oils in the formula but I really enjoyed using this. It lathers nicely and cleanses my skin of everything. ▶️ NEOGENLAB - Real Rerment Micro Essence - one of my all time favorite essences. This hydrating and brightening essence is formulated with 93% naturally fermented ingredients as well as betaine, allantoin, sodium hyaluronate, adenosine, niacinamide, and various amino acids. I forgot how much I loved this essence. Used directly after cleansing, this watery first treatment essence quickly absorbs to restore hydration and prep my skin for the remainder of my routine without any stickiness. There’s also the plumping effect that this gives after 1-2 skins that I love so much. After consistent use, I can easily see my skin looking brighter and more even toned. This is probably one of the more hydrating FTE’s that I’ve tried. ▶️ NEOGENLAB - Real Ferment Micro Serum - the perfect companion for its essence counterpart. This viscous and creamy gel serum delivers a boost of nutrients and antioxidants to the skin with its elegant formula comprised of 61% fermented ingredients as well as niacinamide, adenosine, sodium hyaluronate, centella asiatica, hydrolyzed collagen, ascorbic acid, and vitamin e.This is very moisturizing and it leaves a bit of tacky and dewy finish once it’s absorbed. Upon application, you can see slightly plumper and brighter skin. It layers well with no pilling issues so regardless, you won’t even feel it once you’ve applied something else on top. Over time, I saw noticeably brighter skin that had that felt bouncier and firmer. ▶️NEOGENLAB - Neogen Dermalogy Canadian Clay Pore Cleanser - a 2 in 1 detoxifying mask and cleanser that eliminates excess sebum and blackheads while also cleansing the skin of makeup, dead skin cells, and clogged pores. This mask cleansers contains a ton of extracts, micro-particles of natural glacial marine soil, and colloidal clay from West Coast British Columbia, Canada. This has a creamy clay texture that easily spreads onto the skin. After a few minutes of application, the clay begins to foam on the skin to help draw impurities from the pores. Once the foaming has stopped, proceed to massage it into the skin and then rinse with water. I thought this was fun to use but using this everyday left my skin a bit dry. I preferred to use it every few days which was nice to help refresh my skin. ▶️NEOGENLAB - Neogen Dermalogy A-Clear Aid Soothing Spot Patch - these are your typical hydrocolloid acne patches that help absorb excess sebum and secretions from your breakouts while also protecting the area from dirt and bacteria. These come in two sizes which is great for different sized pimples. I always enjoy having acne patches on hand because they help prevent me from picking at my pimples. After I intentionally or accidentally pop my spots, these are great for reducing the size of them overnight.

These products are from brands that are cruelty free and ouse high quality natural ingredients Jungle Botanics Ecru Clay Soap: This handcrafted clay soap is formulated with 17.5% Amazonian clay and nourishing ingredients like Jojoba Oil, Olive Oil, Grape Seed Oil and Centella Asiatica Extract. It can be used as a normal cleansing soap for body and face or as a quick face mask. Because of the high clay content, this is excellent at removing impurities and excess sebum. This soap comes with a linen pad that works as a soap holder and can also be used as a loofah for exfoliation. Because coconut oil is the second ingredient and my skin is sensitive to coconut oil I used this as a body soap. I love that this comes with the linen pad making it easy to store. This works into a creamy lather and cleanses effectively. It has a natural scent, smells like clay mixed with oils and though I do not use soaps often I must say I've definitely enjoyed adding this to my shower routine By Wishtrend 5% Mandelic Acid Prep Water: This is my 3rd bottle that must tell you how much I love this product. Mandelic acid is larger in size than glycolic acid which makes it better suited for sensitive skin types. I use this runny watery toner with a cotton pad and gently swipe it all over my face and wait for a minute or two before moving on to the next step. Though this is only 5% Mandelic acid and it also contains soothing hydrating ingredients like Beta Glucan, Centella Asiatica, Panthenol and Sodium Hyaluronate I do feel a stinging sensation right on application in problem areas. It does not burn and is not unbearable but there is some stinging for a few seconds. So, if you are using it for the first time just be aware that it does sting. I have managed to use it every night right after double cleanse and this has worked together with the other products in my routine to help reduce acne scars
