The most requested type of new content is comparisons, so I wanted to kick it off with a showdown between my Jade and Rose Quartz rollers: 💕They both deliver the same results. End of comparison ;) 🌹OK, so...if I had to think about a difference, the Jade roller retains cold temperatures for slightly longer. It's my go-to in the morning. Meanwhile, the rose quartz is heftier, which makes it ever-so-slightly more satisfying at night. But how much of this is due to the stone vs. the particular manufacturer, I'm not sure; The differences are also so imperceptible that they may even be a figment of my imagination. ✨I've been using both rollers the same way: Each morning and night, I roll upwards from my cheeks with the larger stone and under my eyes with the smaller stone. As I mentioned in an earlier post, I love the cooling sensation of the stone as a morning refresher and find that rollers are useful for helping my masks and serums sink in evenly. 💚At the end of the day, Jade vs. Rose Quartz might come down to whether you prefer pink or green. What team are you on? Let me know if you've noticed any differences!

the mesmerizing Lumene VALO Arctic Berry Cocktail Hydra Oil*: ✨Although it is an oil, it doesn't feel like one. I was a bit hesitant to get this at first because I hate that oily feeling, but this is indistinguishable from a liquid moisturizer. Sinks in fast, no grease, no tackiness. ✨The ingredients are like a fruity cocktail aimed at hydration and brightening: cloudberry and cranberry seed oil, vitamin C, vitamin B5, niacinamide. I use this as a light AM moisturizer or a hydration layer in my PM routine. I don't think that the concentrations of ascorbic acid/niacinamide are as high as those in my seruns, but I like the boost. This oil has a strong berry scent which smells good, but I could honestly do without since the whole line shares this fragrance. ✨On a final, shallow note, I just love how beautiful the bi-phased oil looks on my vanity. Skincare is a pleasure, and it's not often that I can find effective AND aesthetically drool-worthy products for under $20 at the drugstore.

burtsbees Tinted Lip Balm 💄The tint is sheer with a slightly glossy finish. It's not buildable if that's what you're looking for, but the color comes across as a very natural flush. I have it in here in Red Dahlia, which adds a deep red tint. It doesn't smear or settle into lip lines, and there is no fragrance. 💄The balm contains shea butter and botanical waxes. It's a touch less plumping than the clinique Chubby Stick lip balms, which are still my ride or die. But I can restock on Burts Bees at Target or Amazon and sometimes even score a pack of 2 for $8, so it hurts my wallet way less when I misplace them. I can also have a car lip balm, a purse lip balm, an office lip balm, and in this case, a Slovenian campanile lip balm...

One line that has always hit it out of the park for me is the kate somerville ExfoliKate line. One of my favorites is the Intensive Exfoliating Treatment. It bills it self as a “2 minute Hollywood facial” that uses a combination of physical and chemical exfoliants to polish skin into a radiant glow. ✨Ingredients: AHAs (lactic acid), BHAs (salicylic acid), fruit enzymes (pineapple, papaya, pumpkin) ✨Experience: It’s a moss green gel that smells like cinnamon. While there are silica grains for physical exfoliation, I let it sit on my face and don’t rub. It only takes 2 minutes of my time in the shower to get results. (Its recommended for use in the shower because the hot steam works with the ingredients better.) It’s more effective than a cleanser, but less strong than Drunk Elephant Babyfacial or the Peach and Lily Reboot Resurfacing Mask. ✨Recommended for: People who want to decongest their skin of blackheads or clogged pores using an AHA/physical exfoliant, but prefer quick wins rather than a drawn out routine.

Glow Recipe’s release, the Avocado Melt Sleeping Mask Here are my first impressions after 3 nights: 💧Experience: Creamy but not stifling. It leaves a matte slip on the face that is unique from other products I’ve tried, but it’s not uncomfortable or undesirable. This does not rub off on my pillow. There is a fresh fragrance that reminds me to a spring shampoo - this does not smell like avocado or honey, but it’s delicious all the same. 🤩Results: It smooths, it plumps, it amazes! This gives my face a nice hydrated glow in the morning. It’s been making my tinted moisturizer in my morning AM routine just sink into my face. Its thicker consistency is perfect for the winter, but it might be too creamy for humid summers.

A short review of my lauramercier makeup products✨ 🏆Translucent Loose Setting Powder Glow ($39): Sephora upsold me on this one with a gift with purchase sample. When the baby sample ran out, I had to buy the full-size! It leaves a very subtle glow - one step under highlight - that I love to dust over my cheekbones to make me look more alive. It’s too glowy to use as a setting powder, but I adore how finely milled and weightless the powder feels. Holy grail makeup product! ❤️ Flawless Lumiere Radiance-Perfecting Foundation ($48): This is one step of coverage above a BareMinerals tinted moisturizer and one step below the Too Faced Born This Way foundation. It has a liquid texture that leaves a dewy finish, and I appreciate that it includes vitamin C for some ~skincare effect~. I’m really enjoying it, and it blends perfectly with a buffing brush. 😐 Foundation Primer ($38): This feels like a gel-cream moisturizer. It’s clear, water-based, and makes your makeup look good because it’s hydrating your face. Didn’t notice any difference in wear time. Hot take: Just buy a regular moisturizer and don’t drop $38 on this.
