☀️Sience says Tinted Sunscreens do it best☀️

Hello beautiful skin + beauty lovers 😊 I love spfs because they are so important to the health of our skin and our whole body☀️ I was excited to try the FIRST AID BEAUTY - Weightless Liquid Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30
because it’s a tinted sunscreen. Regular sunscreen blocks UV rays so that’s still awesome, But visible light is not blocked in this capacity. Visible light has been proven to cause damage to skin just like UV rays. non-tinted sunscreens are formulated to be invisible on skin, and therefore cannot block visible light. Tinted sunscreens are awesome because the added color base in the product is beneficial to blocking visible light because the color remains on your skin, creating yet another layer of protection between your beautiful skin and the sun. Here’s how it works, according to Neera Nathan MD and Dieter Manstein MD for Harvard Publising, “Tinted sunscreens combine broad-spectrum mineral UV filters, like zinc oxide and titanium dioxide, with added pigments — pigmentary titanium dioxides and iron oxides — that create the visible, skin-tone color that can reflect away visible light. The colored base of tinted sunscreens is created by mixing different amounts of black, red, and yellow iron oxides with pigmentary titanium dioxide, resulting in a tinted sunscreen that can be matched to any skin tone.” Boom! That’s how it’s done. Who wouldn’t want that extra protection without white cast?! How does FIRST AID BEAUTY - Weightless Liquid Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30
perform? The only issue I have with this is when rubbing it in, it feels grainy and gritty like sand or something. It disappears once all the way rubbed in, but it kind of weirded me out 😛 I was reading a bunch of reviews and some people claimed to feel this as well. I think mine might have been old or something. It is not bothersome enough for me to not want to try it again. I will still use & probably repurchase this. The finish on this product is amazing. I really like it for my combination skin. Once soaked into the skin, this sunscreen became invisible and left a soft sheen/dewiness on my pale skin. It made my skin really soft, too. I would also like to point out there for me the sunscreen didn’t really do much in terms of blurring imperfections on my face. I honestly couldn’t really tell that I had anything on after it was all the way rubbed in, except for a light glow it gave my skin. So if you’re looking for a tinted sunscreen with more coverage I would probably recommend looking at a different product. I also like the ingredients in this, squalane being one of the first few ingredients, working to moisturize and nourish my skin. Do you guys like tinted sunscreen? What kinds do you wear?

Major SPF Myth ☀️❌
Here’s the deal...no matter how much we all don’t want to...SPF doesn’t last Especially if you wear a mineral SPF At best our sunscreen will only protect us for about 2 hours The sun will naturally break down all sunscreen actives and with the wear and tear of daily routines you are more likely to just wipe them off by accident, especially if you are sweating in the hot sun! What is your favourite SPF product for reapplication? These are my go tos as someone who doesn’t wear makeup FIRST AID BEAUTY - Weightless Liquid Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 I would love to try a PA filter sunscreen soon, any recs?

What is the importance of SPF
SPF is important as sun protection ie. to protect your skin from the suns ultraviolet rays. During the aging process collagen and elastin fibres become weaker and sun exposure causes this to happen at an even more rapid pace. The ultraviolet rays from the sun can cause cell damage, pigmentation, wrinkles/fine lines to occur. UVA Rays are known as the Aging Rays, as they have longer wavelengths, penetrate all 3 layers of the skin, cause genetic damage, weaken collagen & elastin and can result sagging. UVB rays are known as the Burning Rays, which are shorter in wavelength, penetrate the epidermis and can be therefore more damaging to the skin & eyes. Melanin is the pigment that naturally protects the skin from the sun. Melanin can be altered by exposure to the sun. When the body is injured, DNA is stimulated by the hormones to produce more melanin. There are two types of sunscreens: Mineral/Physical and Chemical. Mineral or Physical sunscreens are made up of organic material aka from carbon. The two active ingredients in mineral sunscreens are: zinc oxide and titanium dioxide. Chemical sunscreens are inorganic aka not from carbon. The most common active ingredients for chemical sunscreens are: octinoxate, octisalate, oxybenzone, avobenzone, homosalate and octocrylene. When shopping for a sunscreen you want to look for one that is 30 or higher for maximum protection, and if it is a mineral sunscreen at least 15% or higher for maximum protection. The number on the bottle of sunscreen, is based on UVB rays - how long it takes for redness to appear on the skin and SPF works best when reapplied. My two favourite sunscreens are the FIRST AID BEAUTY - Weightless Liquid Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 (available at Sephora) and Avène - VERY HIGH PROTECTION CREAM SPF50+ (available at the drugstore) #CheriePartner

The Best of Mineral SPF
The Best of Mineral SPF
My sensitivity to chemical SPF formulas has made me try every and all mineral formulas on the market. I wanted to share my knowledge and round up my top mineral SPFs. Starting with the Versed Guards Up Daily Mineral SPF 35- •The pros to this product is that its widely accessible (available at Target), non-irritating, and has a lightweight consistency. •It also has a slight peachy tint, which I find to offer nice color-correcting qualities. •The finish is satin, not too dewy but moisturizing enough to act as a solid base for makeup. I really don't have any cons for this product and its a great buy for the price! Next is the First Aid Beauty Weightless Liquid Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30- •If I were to pick one out of these 3 SPFs to use for the rest of my life, it would definitely be this one. The texture of this sunscreen is unlike anything I've ever tried in a mineral formula before. It actually reminds me of chemical SPF formulas! •It has a super thin, almost gel like and lightly tinted formula that blends so easily into my skin. It makes a superior base for makeup and offers a satin finish. If you have normal to oily skin I think you would love this SPF. •The con for this formula is if you have very fair skin the slight tint might show up on your skin, and same goes for deeper skin tones. But overall I find this to be the least “white casty” mineral SPF formula. Lastly the Cocokind Daily SPF 32- •I posted an in depth review of this SPF on one of my previous Cherie posts, so I’ll be brief here. This SPF offers more of a traditional thick and moisturizing texture which takes a while to blend it, but the white cast does dissipate over time. If you have drier skin and prefer a heavier moisturizing base, I would say this is the SPF for you.

My first thoughts on this SPF!
My first thoughts on this SPF!
First of all- sorry for looking exhausted in this video- 4 hours of sleep the night before and the coffee hadn’t kicked in yet! But OMG YESSSSSSS Loving 👏🏼 on👏🏼this👏🏼 SPF👏🏼 Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 this is my dream, especially living where I live in Southern California and with my skin type. When doing some research, based on my understanding of ingredients and what Supergoop!’s website recommended, oily/ combo skin folks could benefit from their Supergoop! - Glowscreen Sunscreen SPF 40so, searching for something for more of a dry skin type, I went for the Unseen to try. It has 0 white cast- great visually for all skin tones which is wonderful! It has isododecane, which contributes to the formulas smooth and non-greasy feel. It glides very, very easily across the face. While I would say a little bit goes a long way (which it feels like because of how easily it glides!) sunscreen is a product I believe is always “more is more,” in your skincare routine. Being someone who loves to use minimal make up most of the time, this is a great product to use. I can’t give an honest review on how this product works with glammed up/ medium-heavy coverage liquid foundations and concealers, because I do not use those. This leaves your face with a velvety look and feel! Let me know your thoughts on this product below.

😍The best SPF!!
😍The best SPF!!
This product was suggested by my Dermatologist when I asked for something to protect my skin from sun damage during my vacation to Hawaii. The texture of this sunscreen is very lightweight and moisturizing. It will go on as a thin white film but will absorb into your skin very quickly. It really provides strong barrier for my skin and thanks to it, my skin tone remains the same as before after a week's beech trip. Moreover, my dermatologist also strengthened its effectiveness in reducing sunburn. I was skeptical at first as I had these brown spots on my nose and cheek that didn't seem to fade for quite a long time. However, after keeping using it, my spots are actually fading! I thought it was my illusion until my husband wowed about it. The larger brown spots from topical treatment have disappeared. Also there are still brown spots, but they are now much lighter and smaller. Crazy? I know, but true! Definitely love this product. #ISDIN - Fusion water sunscreen[products]#[FiveStars]

Skin Emmies Sunscreen ⁣ ⁣ Can you tell which one is my favorite? 🤣 ⁣ These are the ones I’ve tried this year that I liked but I ALWAYS reach for Supergoop Everyday more than any other. It’s an SPF 50 & I want all the protection I can get! It wears well under makeup & is GREAT for dry skin! It’s never irritating & it WORKS! It has oat extract, is non irritating, oil free & cruelty free! 🐰 ⁣ ⁣ High end sunscreen would definitely go to Tatcha or Drunk Elephant for different reason. The Tatcha wears well under makeup & provides a silky smooth canvas while the Drunk Elephant is a MINERAL SPF with 20% Zinc Oxide! Love these! ⁣ ⁣ The Supergoop is an affordable option for this 533ml jug I paid around 36$ for it at Dermstore !

This sunscreen has been in my collection for 2years now and it has taken me this long to finally buy the full size! Have you ever purchased a sunscreen that says it has no white cast, and then you apply it to your screen only to find that it does actually have a white cast. That’s the worst feeling & something you will never have to worry about with this magical sunscreen. Not only is this sunscreen literally unseen (not a single white cast in sight) but it doesn’t even feel like sunscreen. The texture of this sunscreen is very smooth and feels more like a primer going onto your skin. This is my go to sunscreen to wear whenever I’m not wearing makeup. And it really is sweat resistant! I can’t wait to try their other products!Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40

Hi guys!! Today I’m gonna talk about my new fave sunscreen. The Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 is great at protecting my skin from the sun AND as a primer for makeup! I got this in a Sephora favorites kit and I’ve so far used up three of these minis I had laying around - so a full size is coming soon. Claims: — invisible — weightless — scentless — “makeup gripping primer” Active Ingredients: — Avobenzone, 3%, Homosalate 8%, Octisalate 5%, Octocrylene 4% My thoughts: — I didn’t think this would work as a primer. I mean come on... it’s sunscreen! But this is one of the top primers in my arsenal. — I really like the texture! It’s very silky and slides on very easily, dries down to a non tinted formula and doesn’t make my skin red or irritated. No white cast! — the primer is top tier, I can compare it to $50 primers easily! — 5/5 for primer! — 5/5 for sunscreen! — the .5oz is $17 and the 1.7 is $34! I think it’s totally worth the money 💰
