IS THE BARRIER REPAIR CHALLENGE SAVING MY SKIN👀
For the first images the ones on the top were taken today September 9th and the bottom ones were taken on August 19th (3 week interval) Thoughts: I don’t know if it’s just me or my skin is actually brighter? Also it definitely is more hydrated and feels softer. I did go through a purging phase but it was just for a few days and now it seems like my skin is clearing up. As for the dark marks I don’t know if there’s a real difference and if there’s one it’s probably not significant yet. But to be honest I wasn’t targeting hyperpigmentation yet so no disappointment! And for the second images, the one on the right was taken today September 9th and the one on the left was taken on August 19th (3 week interval) Thoughts: it seems like the texture on my forehead is less apparent? And it’s definitely brighter. I got a pretty big zit but I think it’s because it’s about to be that time of the month lol. Overall I think the barrier repair challenge is really helping me so I’d recommend it to anyone. If you don’t know what that is just refer to my other posts or ask me questions I’ll be willing to answer! So here’s my current routine: Pm routine: - The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser

Hyram Approved😍The Ordinary or The Inkey List? Which is the BEST?
The Ordinary and The Inkey List are getting a lot more popular recently because of how affordable they are. In this post, I will give you the answer from Hyram through the ingredients evaluation and his own experience. Niacinamide: treats so many skin problems, such as redness and sensitivity, dark spots and hyperpigmentation, controlling the oiliness in the skin, etc. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%($6) VS. THE inkey LIST - Niacinamide Oil Control Serum ($7): Ingredient Winner: The Inkey List: in addition to Niacinamide, it contains a lot more incredible ingredients, like Radish Root Ferment to soothe sensitivity, Squalene to hydrate the skin, Sodium Hyaluronate is a concentrated form of hyaluronic acid, Soybean Oil to retain skin moisturized Experience & Performance Winner: The Ordinary: super lightweight and sinks into the skin easier, great for people who have combination to oily skin. Whereas The Inkey List product has a thicker consistency with a heavier layer on the surface of skin, great to dry to normal skin. You can choose any from them based on your own skin type. Retinol: a powerful ingredient to repair multiple types of damage within the skin, including acne scars, pigmentation, fine line, aging, sun damage, etc. The Ordinary - Retinol 0.5% in Squalane($6) VS. THE inkey LIST - Retinol Serum($10)Ingredient Winner: Tied. The Inkey List claims to have 1% retinol but actually 0.5% retinol and 0.5% hydroxypinacolone Retinoate, with is an ester of retinoic acid (an extremely powerful anti-aging and repairing product)Overall: The Ordinary is better because of how many options of retinol at different concentrations they have for a variety of skin types. Retinol can cause a lot of sensitivity if you’re not careful with the concentration Experience & Performance Winner: The Inkey List: No heavy feeling, easy to spread, very effective but non-sensitizing. However, The Ordinary products don’t feel very easy to apply. Hyaluronic Acid: helps to hydrate and condition your skin THE inkey LIST - Hyaluronic Acid Serum($8) VS. The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 ($7)Ingredient Winner: Tied. The Inkey List contains Peptides to help soothe and plump the skin, Glycerin to draw in moisture, and radish root ferment. The Ordinary has Ahnfeltia Cocinna Extract to hydrate the skin. Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid): brighten pigmentation and dark spots, protect against free radical damage throughout the day. While it is a very unstable ingredient, it could be very effective when it’s put in a stable formula. Ingredient Winner: The Ordinary - Vitamin C Suspension 30% in Silicone($7): It’s a water-free formula, but also has squalene, coconut alkanes, which is great for hydrating and moisturizing the skin. Experience & Performance Winner: THE inkey LIST - Vitamin C Brightening Cream($10): very lightweight on the skin, and Hyram never had sensitivity while using this product. Glycolic Acid: dissolves all the dead skin cells off the surface of your skin to make your skin glow and hydrated Ingredient Winner: The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution($9): the primary ingredients have Glycerin, a bunch of different amino acids, and Panax Ginseng Root Extract to support the health of the skin Experience & Performance Winner: THE inkey LIST - Glycolic Acid Liquid Toner 100ml($11): no sensitivity reaction but still effective for exfoliating the face Cleaners: The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser($8)THE inkey LIST - Salicylic Acid Acne + Pore Cleanser($10), THE inkey LIST - Oat Cleansing Balm ($10), THE inkey LIST - Oil and Water Double Cleanser($10)Ingredient Winner: The Inkey List Experience & Performance Winner: The Inkey List Oat Cleansing Balm ($10): incredible for moving sunscreen, oil, and dirt from the face Moisturizers: Winner: THE inkey LIST - Hemp Oil Cream Moisturiser ($13): good for reducing redness; THE inkey LIST - Snow Mushroom Hydrating Gel Moisturizer($10): great for reducing sensitivity; THE inkey LIST - Multi-Biotic Balancing Moisturizer($13): great for healing the healthy bacteria count on your skin The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA($8): it is good but in comparison to The Inkey List it just doesn’t stand out Check the link below to watch more from Hyram, and let me know if you have any thoughts.💖💖 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Znd29c8mTo&feature=emb_title
MY EXPERIENCE W THE INKEY LIST PRODUCTS
THE inkey LIST - Rosehip Oil Purchased this because I was looking for an oil to help my skin look and feel more hydrated & possibly reduce scarring esp now that it’s getting colder out. Rose hip oil is rich in essential fatty acids and antioxidants which are so important for cell regeneration. This product sinks quickly into the skin, doesn’t clog my pores AT ALL, and gives my skin a healthy glow. I use it as a part of my nightly skincare routine in place of a cream moisturizer right now. I’m always hesitant to try new oils as I have sensitive skin and worry they’ll cause me to break out but this oil has done everything I need it to do for my skin. Very happy w this purchase. 5/5 THE inkey LIST - Hyaluronic Acid Serum Hyalauronic acid has the capacity to retain large amounts of water giving it the ability to draw moisture into the skin. It is known for helping to reduce fine lines/wrinkles and help with dryness. I honestly purchased it thinking it would help with the overall hydration of my skin. The first time I used it my forehead broke out so much which was an immediate red flag for me-I never break out there. I thought maybe it was a purging phase, so I continued to use it for a few days but my skin got progressively worse. My skin was patchy and red. It had the exact opposite affect on my skin as what it is supposed to. Once I stopped using it my face calmed down right away. My sister had the same exact experience with this, so it’s not just me! Won’t be using it again. This is the worst experience I’ve had with a skincare product in years. Of course everyone’s skin is different so it might work wonders for others. There are so many other products out there to help w hydration & fine lines so I’m not too upset but I was very taken aback by how much it affected my skin.

Review my skincare routine
Hey guys, I have combination/ acne prone skin. It’s also pretty sensitive. So this is my current skincare routine AM Cleanser - LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel Moisturiser - Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Gel-Cream Sunscreen - I’m still trying to find a sunscreen for acne prone skin, I’m thinking the LA ROCHE-POSAY - Anthelios XL Ultra-Light Fluid SPF 50+ but idk, if you guys know a good sunscreen, then let me know!! PM Cleanser - LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel Serum - The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Moisturiser - Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Gel-Cream Face Oil - The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Squalane I’ve just ordered PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliatorand I’m thinking to incorporate that into my PM routine after cleansing only 1-2 times per week I’ve been getting more breakouts, ever since I started using the The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Squalane but idk if that’s purging or if it’s something else in my routine, so let me know. I only put that in my routine because the The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% dried out around my mouth area So what do you guys think of my routine?
Vitamin C Recommendations 🍊
I have learnt a lot over the past few months since joining cherie and am taking my skin more seriously now that I’m 30. I learnt my skin barrier had seriously been compromised, and I may actually not be as sensitive as I thought. I learnt that my skin most likely isn’t dry but actually dehydrated!! What a learning curve that was! Always, ALWAYS, research the best way to use products before using them. Search the product you are interested in on this app and go through the reviews and see what has worked and what hasn’t. Saves you a lot of trial and error! And disappointment! Always start slow with a new product! Go once a week for two weeks and then build up by adding one more day each week. This helps your skin adjust and figure out what works for you. If you flick through the photos above, you will see before and after photos of both sides of my face. Although it looks better, I still have a fair way to go. My routine as of October 13, 2020: MORNING I don’t use a cleanser to wash my face, I wash with water and then follow with The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 I apply this directly to my wet face after rinsing it. I continue massaging until I feel my skin is getting dry but still slightly damp. While my face is still slightly damp I apply SEPHORA COLLECTION - Brightening Eye Cream – Hydrate & Depuff and The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA and then wait about 5 minutes before applying PAULA'S CHOICE - Calm Mineral Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 NIGHT I have, in the last week, jumped back onto the double cleanse bandwagon as it is getting warmer in the Southern Hemisphere now and I tend to get hot and sweaty-ish (especially when running around after a toddler all day). I use The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser massage this is for a few minutes, when I feel it start to loosen up I add in water and rinse it off. If my skin is feeling particularly dehydrated I skip the first cleanse and go straight to CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin Again, I leave my face wet and massage in The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 while my skin is still slightly damp I put on SEPHORA COLLECTION - Brightening Eye Cream – Hydrate & Depuff and PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Azelaic Acid Booster This has really helped calm down my irritated skin and helped smooth out some bumps. I then pat on about 6 drops of The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Squalane and after 5 minutes apply The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA I am looking to add in a vitamin c product. I might be slightly sensitive to vitamin c, so please recommend products that are low in concentration and good for sensitive skin 😘😘

newbie here, send help lol
hello everyone I'm new to cherie and this is my first post so please forgive me I don't know what I'm doing haha anyways! I'm 22 years old and I'm inexperienced when it comes to skin care and beauty products, all my life I've had ance prone skin, acne scars, black heads and whiteheads along with enlarged pores and dark spots. I've been somewhat self conscious about my skin but until recently I've felt more self conscious about it and it just makes me feel less attractive about it which I know it's a silly thing to feel, but anyways. my skin tends to be very dry after I wash it yet it becomes oily? after a couple of hours. I'm currently using the CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin and GARNIER - SkinActive Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel-Cream as a moisturizer I also use to use DICKINSON'S - Original Witch Hazel Pore Perfecting Toner for couple years until recently I learned that Wich hazle just makes your skin worse and it just causes more oilyness. but during quarantine I recently noticed my skin started to become worse than it was before. Im currently only washing and moisturizing my face I currently haven't been able to buy myself anything else because I've had to cut back on a few things in order to save money for a bit, but I just ran out of moisturizer so I figured why not treat myself to something new? as mentioned before I don't have enough experience with skin care or beauty products to know what is beneficial for my skin needs. and while I have been watching and following a couple skin fluencers on social media, all these facts and products that they say tend to make head spin because one person might say something negative about a product while the other might rave about it. and it's all just so confusing and it just causes me to feel overwhelmed and I just end up giving up in the end. so if anyone can provide any advice or skin care recommendations that are budget friendly without any harmful ingredients, I would greatly appreciate it and it would mean a lot. thanks for reading 🐰🌙
We are making progress, folks
Just hopping on to say that the addition of a couple of new products into my routine has been a real game-changer! 1. I have been consistently using CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin as my nightly cleanser and I love it! 2. L'ORÉAL - Pure Clay Purity Mask is one of my favorite things. It smells really nice (hard to describe the smell, but it’s very pleasant), visibly shows where it is soaking up your excess oils, and leaves my skin feeling suuuuper soft and refreshed. I’ve noticed that my nose, which was typically dry on top and oily on the sides, is much more balanced now. 3. I suffer from allergies, which causes me to rub my eyes a bunch. I am sure that this is causing premature wrinkles under my eyes, so I wanted to do something about it (and combat any dark circles in the meantime)! It’s only been about a week since I’ve started using CeraVe - Eye Repair Cream, so I can’t definitively vouch for or against it yet. ⭐️⭐️ My next task is to purchase The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%to tackle my pores and acne scars. Stay tuned!! ⭐️⭐️
Top Sunscreen Picks for Oily Skin!
A good sunscreen that’s right for your skin can be very hard to find. But look no further! These three sunscreens anything someone with oily skin could ever want! These are also all mineral sunscreens, so they are much better for your skin and will not be irritating! Purito Comfy Water Sun Block- $16 My personal favorite! This one is lightweight, protective and it has NO white cast! It’s not overly hydrating and it also has niacinamide, which is great for oily skin. Supergoop Mattscreen-$38 This one is definitely pricey, but in my opinion, it’s worth it. This one is very mattefying and it is also tinted which I love! MD Solar Sciences Mineral Creme- $30 This sunscreen is amazing! It is mattefying and has no white cast, but is also a mineral sunscreen? That’s almost unheard of! The ingredients in this one aren’t the best, but it’s not really meant to penetrate into your skin.

First post here!! I’ve dedicated my past few months to researching products that best fit my skin type (and were definitely not breaking the bank) and figured it was time to share some of my favorite products with you! Here we go!! (Note: I have pretty normal skin but it tends to run on a more dry side so dry combination skin type is the kind of skin these items seem to work on) ✨1. I start off with the Aveeno - Clear Complexion Foaming Cleanser and wash my face thoroughly so that I have a clean base to start off with. This wash has salicylic acid in it to help with breakouts and even out your skin, a very powerful combo when paired with glycolic acid ;)) ✨2. I then go in with the The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution I put about the size of a nickel of this amazing toner on a cotton pad at cleanse my whole face over. It pairs amazing with the salicylic acid that is inside of the Aveeno face wash I initially go in with. When they work together the AHA removes the clogging skin cells and the BHA (salicylic acid) is able to cleanse your pores properly. I love this toner because while it is strong it gets the job done. The only issue with it is that you have to be careful with which acids you decide to pair it with and it is a toner you should not use more than 2-3 times a week due to how strong and effective it is. You wouldn’t want it to over purge your skin. ✨3. After I finish toning I do go in with the GOOD MOLECULES - Niacinamide Serum I LOVE this product. It’s main goal is to minimize pores and refine your texture. It does exactly that and carries out an abundance of other amazing things too like covering pigmentation and reducing redness. As long as you incorporate this properly into your routine and are careful with the acids you use it with, everything goes on lightweight and leaves you feeling refreshed. Although in some cases, depending on your skin type, it could leave you looking flushed or adding redness to your skin if you don’t research your acids properly. In my routine, this was a lifesaver and completely transformed my skin texture and left my nose area almost pore-less. ✨4. The most IMPORTANT step in my opinion. Moisturizing. I use the CLINIQUE - Smart Broad Spectrum SPF 15 Custom-Repair Moisturizer for Dry Combination Skin This is my go-to nighttime moisturizer. It leaves your skin feeling smooth and like all moisture and products are locked in. When using products like mentioned above moisturizer is the key component to success. I love this moisturizer because it targets key areas where your skin might need a little pick me up and is there when you need it. It is oil free and super lightweight. Overall, one of my favorite moisturizers ever. Clinique hardly misses :) ! (Final note: make sure to do your research before decided to mix any acids or products together and ensure that you aren’t allergic to anything!)
NIACINAMIDE explained! $6 serums worth trying!
Try these $6 serums to reap the many benefits of niacinamide! Hey everyone! I’m sure you’ve heard and seen so much about 𝙉𝙄𝘼𝘾𝙄𝙉𝘼𝙈𝙄𝘿𝙀 lately. It seems like every new skincare product has it and the niacinamide serums are selling like crazy. 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝐧𝐢𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐝𝐞? Niacinamide is a form of Vitamin B3. It’s the latest trend in skincare, but has been used in skincare for a very long time. It has many benefits from helping acne, repairing skin, smoothing fine lines.. the list goes on. You can find it as it’s own serum or as a main ingredient along with other powerhouse ingredients. 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐭𝐬 locks in moisture; helps build a lipid barrier. prevents environmental damage + protects from environmental stressors and pollution. minimizes pores reduces inflammation; helps redness w/ acne and eczema. regulates oil production. rebuilds skin cells protects against sun damage & skin cancer. ( you still need SPF) helps hyperpigmentation (not to a vitamin c extent, but can help lighten spots a bit) minimizes fine lines and wrinkles *yes plz* helps acne! Overtime a decrease in breakouts. 𝙂𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙨𝙠𝙞𝙣 2 𝙢𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙝𝙨 𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙢𝙪𝙢 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙩 𝙨𝙚𝙚𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙨. 𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙞𝙩 𝙝𝙖𝙨 𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙥𝙚𝙙 𝙢𝙮 𝙨𝙠𝙞𝙣: I have incorporated Niacinamide into my skincare routine for the last 3 months and I have noticed + a decrease in breakouts. + less oily skin + huge change in my pores, way less visible around my nose and cheeks. + less eczema than usual for this time of the year for me. 𝘾𝙖𝙣 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙞𝙩? For the most part, yes... Some people do have a sensitivity to niacinamide and can break out from it. If you start to break out different than your normal while using it, I suggest taking it out of your routine to see if it is not a match for your skin. 𝘼𝙛𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙙𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙉𝙞𝙖𝙘𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙢𝙞𝙙𝙚 𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙪𝙢𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙧𝙮: The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Since I’ve switched to this “holy grail” my skin has drastically improved. It also includes Zinc which helps with acne as well. $5.90 a price that is TOO good. Sold at Ulta and Sephora. GOOD MOLECULES - Niacinamide Serum Another great serum! I’ve used this one before and it works almost just as well as the ordinary. It is also %10 niacinamide. The brand also has an amazing niacinamide toner! $6 online at good molecules. Both of these serums are 10% niacinamide. Studies have shown that 2-5% works very effectively so you don’t need such a high percentage. #cheriepartner #cheriecreator
TONIGHT’S ROUTINE TO FIGHT ACNE
(Swipe up to see how skin looks right now) (I also have some acne and hyperpigmentation along my jaw, my neck and my chest) Rate tonight’s routine. All critics are welcomed:) Ps: I usually don’t do this much but recently I been breaking out and it’s kinda frustrating me. Here’s the order - THE inkey LIST - Oat Cleansing Balm I been using it for a few weeks and I really like it so far CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin -ORIGINS - Out of Trouble 10 Minute Mask to Rescue Problem Skin I don’t really wanna rate it yet but for now honestly I don’t see much results -PAULA'S CHOICE - Pore-Reducing TonerI’ve been using it for a while now but Idk if it’s really helping. I’ll probably not repurchase -PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid ExfoliatorI’ve been using it every other day for weeks and starting this week I increased usage but no significant results yet. I think I’ll start using this 5-6 days a week from now on. I know I’m risking over exfoliation but right now that’s all I can do -The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%I’ve been using this everyday twice a day for a few weeks now but I haven’t used it long enough to be able to make a review on it. Haven’t seen drastic results with this either -#Neutrogena - Oil free moisture combination skin face and neck[products]#[FourStars] It’s a good basic moisturizer for oily skin (idk about combination) but lately I feel like my skin is is more normal than oily but I don’t think it’s bad to use up this product because my sunscreen is moisturizing it’s the PURITO - Centella Green Level Unscented Sun SPF50+ and in the pm I use the The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Squalane at the end so I feel like I have a pretty good amount of hydration. Once I finish this up I’ll probably purchase another moisturizer tho - The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Squalane I’m almost out of it and I’ll probably repurchase - Then I used the mask as a spot treatment (just on two zits tho) I’m thinking about starting differin because lately I’ve been really conscious about my skin especially because many people in my family have clear skin! If any of you have tried differin can they let me know how it went! Also let me know what you think about this routine. If you have any advice please let me know!
Holy grails! My secret weapons to deal with emergency!!!
There is no superhero in our life to save us, but I believe we all have one or two secret products that can act as heroes to save us from a skin emergency. What I love to share are these two products that have already rescued me for so many times, from meetings to interviews. Nothing is perfect, but this Out of Trouble Mask ORIGINS - Out of Trouble 10 Minute Mask to Rescue Problem Skinis perfect for me, and it is super timesaving when I have some dead skins to clean or need to fight inflammation or pimples. This mask contains camphor, zinc oxide, and salicylic acid to calm skin, absorb excess oil, and unclog pores. It is especially good for people with combination/oily skin like me, and what I do is just to apply to T-zone and areas that are really rough and flaky, wait for 8 minutes, and wash off using makeup pads. The smell is like camphor ball, but I kinda like it, and the price of it is very nice to my wallet as well. Highly recommend this one to you. Another skincare hero saved me from an emergency is this SK-II face mask.SK-II - Pitera Facial Treatment Mask To be honest, I was shocked by its price but all of my friends recommended this to me, and I have to say that it is worth the praise. It is weird to say but it smells like spit, but the effect is amazing. I put it on after cleansing my face, and wait for 15 minutes, take it off and gently massage the rest essence on the face, then a light moisturizer. My face is never this bright and hydrated! And my pores also get smaller as well, which is something I would never expect from a sheet mask. I know some people will say the price is beyond the budget. But if you have the chance to try it, or with some really important events coming up, these amazing stuff will not let you down!

❌ removing this from my routine
I recently posted my night routine with PAULA'S CHOICE - Pore-Reducing Toner in it, but I have since decided to remove it from my skincare routines. I wanted to like this because it has all the good ingredients that are supposed to help oily, acne-prone skin, but it did disappoint. I didn’t break out from it but I definitely didn’t see a difference in my skin. When I was using this toner, my skin felt very tacky and sticky by the end of my skincare routine. I would spend the day with a this tackiness sitting on my face. It wasn’t fun. After I stopped using it, however, I actually found that the other products I’ve been using were more easily absorbed into my skin. I have since replaced the Paula’s Choice toner with Curél - Moisture Facial Lotion Enrich , which seemed to work for my skin before, so I’ll keep you all updated on how I feel about that! Maybe once my skin is a little more balanced, I’ll try the Paula’s Choice toner again, but for now, it’s out!
✨My affordable oily/combo skincare routine✨
This is my newly updated skincare routine ✨ Everything is in order of how I layer my products *AM Routine* The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser — *update: I was using this as a first cleanse in the mornings after I use my BHA, but realize I need to keep focused on double only at night. CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin — I use this every morning and I swear by this cleanser. It is super gentle on the skin, it cleanses well enough without drying. PAULA'S CHOICE - Pore-Reducing Toner— I have not rated this yet as I have not been using it long enough to notice any real benefits from it(will update soon) The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%— I use this in my skin care routine as it has been highly recommended to help with my blemishes and brightening skin tone. Will update with a rating when I feel I have used it long enough to see a difference. CeraVe - AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 — I really enjoy this moisturizer, it doesn’t feel too thick on my skin but it does leave quite a bit of a cast which is common in a moisturizer with SPF. *PM Routine* The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser — I love this as a first step in my double cleanse as I find it really helps to clean off my moisturizer/spf & makeup if I have worn it, it leaves the skin looking and feeling really smooth CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin PAULA'S CHOICE - Pore-Reducing Toner **PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator— I use this as recommended to start 2-3 times a week, I haven’t been using it long enough to say whether it is really helping my skin yet. Although I will say it does feel really nice on the skin, it feels like a very mild oil when first put on and I find my face looks more radiant after applying The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%— I use this at night when I do not use my BHA exfoliator as it isn’t recommended. The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 — I use this every night and I love that it helps draw in all of the moisture from the environment around me. I find it works well with my BHA to help keep the moisture in my skin. CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion — I LOVE this moisturizer, it is super hydrating but doesn’t feel thick on my oily skin. **Exfoliators** PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator— chemical exfoliant 2-3x a week. PAULA'S CHOICE - The Unscrub— use this up to 3 times a week, on nights that I do not use my chemical exfoliator if I feel like I need to. It is very gentle on the skin as the jojoba oil beads melt as you exfoliate. When I add this, I use it as a second cleanser(in place of my CeraVe) If anyone has an recommendations, please comment. Constructive critisism is always welcome 😊❤️

Do You Have Blackheads or Sebaceous Filaments?
I’ve seen a lot of post where people confuse the two. As someone who is an avid skincare researcher I think it’s time to clear the air. Sebaceous Filaments: What are they? Your skin does a lot of things that many people don’t know. One of them is oil control and keeping the skin balanced. Sebum is a natural oil that keeps your skin naturally moisturized. They are NORMAL. Annoying, but normal. Have your ever squeezed your nose and seen white or tinted yellow substance come out? That’s stuff is collected sebum and dead skin cells that has cooped up in your pores. You can treat this with a pore strip or getting them professionally extracted. 9/10 they will come back, unless you get your oil secretions under control. I recommend a chemical peel or salicylic acid. Also adding a great double cleansing routine will help tremendously! Blackheads What are they ? They are a form of acne. Better yet known as an open comedone. Blackheads can be caused by various factors: environment, oil, diet, hormones. And even medications. These contain bacteria which has clogged up your pores. Blackheads should be treated professionally or with a retinoid (most effective). DO NOT PICK AT HOME. Some products: PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution THE inkey LIST - Lactic Acid Serum PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Azelaic Acid Booster

BASIC SKIN CARE ROUTINE
Hello hello ✨ I found this chart that I find very helpful for deciding how to change up my routine or keep myself consistent. Though I tend to switch up my products based on my needs, it tends to remain the same based on the type of products I use. Hopefully you’ll be able to use this as an outline to your routine! If you have any product suggestions or questions feel free to comment! ❤️❤️❤️ Cleansers: CeraVe - SA Smoothing Cleanser FENTY SKIN - Total Cleans'r Remove-It-All Cleanser Vitamin C: DERMA•E - Vitamin C Concentrated Serum Moisturizer: The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin SPF: sun bum - Clear Zinc SPF 50 FENTY SKIN - Hydra Vizor Invisible Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Sunscreen Cleansing Balm: The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser Treatment: The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 10% + HA The Ordinary - Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12% acne.org - Treatment (Benzoyl Peroxide – 2.5%) Chemical Exfoliants: The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution Mask: AZTEC SECRET - Indian Healing Clay Retinol: N/A
A couple products that cleared my skin
BANISH - PUMPKIN ENZYME MASQUE I used this 2-4 times a week and it really helped get rid of most of my acne but I didn’t see results til a couple weeks after using this so if u want a mask that will really help to fight away acne and even out ur skin tone and texture this is the one for u. Unfortunately I just ran out of this but will get more soon😁. BANISH - Vitamin C Serum This serum is from the same brand as the mask and if ur looking for a really powerful and good vitiman c serum I would really recommend this cause it really helped calm down infflamation and every single time I used this I would wake up with a glow. The only reason why I gave it 4 stars is because it’s really strong so sometimes it irritated my skin and would cause redness by my nose but if ur skin is not really sensitive then you will probably be fine.Krave - Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser I cannot talk about this cleanser enough! Since I have oily and acne prone skin used to always go for products that would get rid of some of my acne but it would end up drying and damaging my skin. And this was the first cleanser I used that didn’t leave my skin what I thought was “clean” but it left my skin hydrated and it felt nourished and balanced. And not only that but all the ingredients are so good for your skin and since using this cleanser I actually get excited to wash my face😂 I recommend this for all skin types and I Typically use this as a second cleanser but I heard it’s pretty good at taking of makeup too. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% This serum I got because my favorite YouTuber James welsh LOVES this stuff and I have the same skin type as him and I really just trust his oppions so I thought I would give it a try. It was alright it helped out even out my skin tone and clam my inflammation down a little bit but zinc is claimed to control oil and acne but I didn’t really see a lot of that when using this. But for the price it is pretty good but it’s just my opinion I know a lot of other people love this stuff it just wasn’t a game changer for me. GOOD MOLECULES - Niacinamide Brightening Toner This toner combined with the discoloration serumGOOD MOLECULES - Discoloration Correcting Serum is like magic. I especially like the toner because it has a lot of other brightening and over all skin strengthening ingredients in it and the serum is ok but when you put them togther they work wonders🤩 And especially for the price point it is a steal. This is just what worked for my skin just know that everybody’s skin is different and what works for me might now work for you👍🏼

Review My PM Skincare Routine 🌙
I’m beginning my first week of a structured nighttime skin routine! I’ve been playing around a few weeks now and doing a LOT of research before deciding on the plan. So here it is! Areas to address: -Large pores -Flares of cystic acne -Scars from previous cystic acne -Mascne DRUNK ELEPHANT - E-Rase Milki Micellar Water First I always start by removing the day’s makeup. It’s a rare day where I don’t wear at least foundation and mascara. I just received this sample from Drunk Elephant and have used a few days now and it has been working VERY well for me. I plan to do a post on makeup removers in the future, but I am purchasing the full size of this one ASAP! TULA SKINCARE - The Cult Classic Purifying Face Cleanser After removing the makeup, I move onto cleansing. My skin loves probiotics in a cleanser, so I decided to try Tula’s cleanser since the brand touts probiotics. This cleanser has a gel consistency and a strange smell I don’t care for, but my face does feel clean after using. I don’t love this as much as I had hoped and probably won’t repurchase, but it hasn’t caused anything bad to happen. COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence The Ordinary - Marine Hyaluronics After cleansing, I apply Cosrx snail mucin or marine Hyaluronics. Yes, at first it seemed pretty weird to use snail mucin, but my face LOVES this stuff. It definitely helps tone down redness and is super hydrating. Cosrx is a thicker, kind of stretchy consistency that seems more hydrating than the marine Hyaluronics. I like both products and alternate based on how dry my skin feels. The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 10% + HA After adding hydration I will use lactic acid or a retinol serum or will skip this step altogether if using a mask treatment that day. Right now I’m using lactic acid just twice a week but love the way my skin feels the next morning after use. OR Kate Somerville - +Retinol Vita C Power Serum Since I’m just starting to add a retinol Serum into my routine I’m only using this twice a week also and not on the same nights I use lactic acid to avoid irritation. This product has a pretty strong citrus smell which I don’t mind and goes smoothly. So far so good! After finishing with the serums, I finish with a moisturizer! On nights I don’t use a retinol serum I’ve been using OLAY - Regenerist Retinol24 Night Moisturizer My skin feels amazing after putting it on and I have not had any dryness or irritation from it and I’m about a month in using it. I noticed a difference in redness the morning after I started using it! On nights I’ve used a retinol serum (stronger retinol than the moisturizer) I use my standby moisturizer Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer Questions, comments, tips? Lmk!

Morning + Night Routine
I have been using these products for the last two weeks as a part of my morning and night routine. I have oily, acne prone, large pores, and sometimes dry skin. 💙 I have been using the Kiehl’s acne treatment cleanser in the morning & night and I really like this face cleanser! I have noticed my acne scars have faded and this has controlled my breakouts. It doesn’t leave my face feeling dry afterwards. I am so happy that I have found a cleanser that is actually showing results. I am hoping this cleaner will continue to work on my face. I sometimes have to switch up my cleansers because they will stop working. Kiehl's - Blue Herbal Acne Cleanser Treatment 💖In the morning after I cleanse my face with the Kiehl’s cleanser I put on the fresh rose deep hydration oil infused serum. I got a free sample with one of my Sephora purchase and I love this stuff! It smells like fresh roses and the smell is not over powering. It gives my face the hydration it needs and I like to use this in the morning because it’s lighter & doesn’t leave my face looking like I dipped it in oil. I would 100% purchase this again. I have also not noticed any reaction or breakout with this product. fresh - Rose Deep Hydration Oil-Infused Serum 🤍 in the night time after I cleanse my face with the Kiehl’s cleanser I put on the ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% -but I only use this about 3-4 times per week. & OMG this does my face wonders 🤩🤩 I use this one in the night time because it is a bit heavy for my face and leaves it looking oily. It applies nicely on my face-no irritation or breakouts. When I wake up in the morning my face looks less red, my acne scars have gone down, my pores look smaller, and my face feels soft and smooth. I am so happy I found this product and am currently testing out other ordinary products at the moment. Will def purchase this again 🥰 The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%

How to: GLOWING SKIN✨✨
Let’s face it. There is no real quick fix to get a 𝐠𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐧 without taking care of it on a daily basis. Wearing sunscreen and supplying your body enough hydration are probably the most important tips we should follow. In this post, I'd like to share my top favorite skincare ingredients that will get you great results even quicker. 𝐈𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮’𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐮𝐭: 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐀𝐇𝐀 𝐢𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞. AHA: Glycolic Acid - effectively removes the outermost layer of dead cells from the complexion, revealing brighter, fresher skin. It is for use for dry to normal skin. Glycolic acid gently removes dead skin cells and also generally well tolerated, even by acne-prone skin. It may not work enough to get rid of acne but it’s a great supplemental product to keep in your vanity. I would recommend starting with 10%-12% and gradually move up to 15%. 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧:ALPHA SKIN CARE - Enhanced Renewal Cream Contains 12% Glycolic Acid. Free of oils and fragrances. Helps even skin tone and texture. Contains peptides to help plump & improve skin’s texture. It also has antioxidants, vitamins, and green tea to prevent signs of aging. ( alternative: liquid form, TO Gycolic Toner) 𝐈𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐨𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐧: 𝐔𝐬𝐞 𝐁𝐇𝐀 𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬. BHA: Salicylic Acid - they are proven to clear clogged pores and improve bumpy texture. BHAs like salicylic acid is oil soluble. This characteristic allows them to penetrate below the skin’s surface and dive deep into your pores. They can penetrate blocked pores by making their way into the oil glands, dissolving the paste-like mixture of sebum that can lead to breakouts. They are typically safe for use once or twice per day. For home use, maximum strength of 2% is advised. 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator This BHA is in a toner formulation. Make sure to pat dry your skin after washing the face before using this. Concentrate on the areas like the T-zone which is usually more oily. It’s critical to apply a gentle moisturizer before salicylic acid completely dry the top layer of skin to avoid irritation and apply sunscreen if used in the daytime. 𝐈𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐜𝐧𝐞: 𝐑𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐢𝐝 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐨. Retinoid: Tretinoin - retinoids like Tretinoin stimulate cell turnover on your skin. Dead skin cells are cleared off your skin more quickly as new skin cells rise to the surface thus, revealing glowing skin. Quicker cell turnover opens your pores, releasing trapped bacteria or irritants. Tretinoin has also been studied extensively for its impact on the visible signs of aging (healthline.com). 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: customized Curology formula, Retin-A, Retino-A, Atralin, Avita, etc. To get the best results with tretinoin, it is necessary to use it properly. Start off with no more than the strength of 0.025% to avoid irritation. In order to reduce the initial flaking/side effects that can accompany the Tretinoin, you can put on a moisturizer before your application. Allow it to sink into the skin completely then apply a pea-sized amount of the cream. Tretinoin can increase your skin's sensitivity to sunlight so be sure to use sunscreen daily!
ALPHA SKIN CARE-Enhanced Renewal Cream
The ordinary has gained a lot of popularity recently and while their products are amazing and offer so many amazing ingredients at such a low price there is a downside to this. The textures of these products are very annoying and hard to work with. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% serum doesn’t play well with other products nicely at all especially the VERSED - DEW POINT Moisturizing Gel-Cream and almost makes it liquidate or something. It also foams up when you rub it in your hands and feels super tacky on the skin. This isn’t at all a deal breaker for me as it’s a solid serum and it does it’s job well it’s just mildly annoying. It does mildly brighten dark spots and help with pores and that’s all you can really ask it to do. Though this serum is a little bit more oily skin friendly and the THE inkey LIST - Niacinamide Oil Control Serumis better for more dry skin types if you want the brightening effects. The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 10% + HA serum is very liquidity in texture which makes it absorb rather quickly which is nice except it’s difficult to get on my face as I usually apply my serums to my hand first and then pay them into my face which didn’t work with this serum as it just ended up absorbing into my hand. This also didn’t do much for MY skin at all. That might just be because I have really oily and resilient skin and a stronger acid would have done a lot more for me but that doesn’t mean this product is bad in fact it could be really good for someone with dry skin or sensitive skin. Exfoliating products that did really help my and might help others with their oily skin and acne are the CeraVe - SA Smoothing Cleanser and The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution . The VERSED - DEW POINT Moisturizing Gel-Cream is a solid moisturizer. It’s good for more oily to combination skin but you could also use this as a serum for dry skin before a thicker moisturizer if you have dry skin because it does have that gel consistency. Personally I also used this as a primer and it held up pretty well because it is a little tacky but not like The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% serum. It’s a great summer moisturizer. Overall it’s a solid pick considering the price and how accessible it is (sold at target) and I definitely recommend it.

My morning routine
Hi everyone 👋 these are my daily morning routine products! Let me know what you think! bliss - Clear Genius Clarifying Gel Cleanser bliss - Clear Genius Clarifying Toner + Serum I’ve already talked about the first two products in my nighttime routine so if you wanna hear my thoughts on those check out my first post! HOWEVER, I don’t always use the cleanser in the morning because like Cassandra Bankson said “how dirty can your face get overnight?”. So I only cleanse if my face is super oily (which it rarely is). If it isn’t oily then I skip straight to my toner. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I put this on after my bliss serum only on my problem areas such as breakouts and large pores just as a gentle spot treatment. I gave this 4 stars because I had used up an entire bottle and repurchased and still don’t see wonderful results. It does minimize pores and oil production but it takes a long time to get rid of breakouts and doesn’t heal acne scars or prevent future breakouts like the bliss clear genius does. ORIGINS - Clear Improvement Pore Clearing Moisturizer with Salicylic Acid bliss - Bright Idea Vitamin C + Tri-Peptide Collagen Protecting & Brightening Moisturizer I switch between these two moisturizers depending on what I need for the day. If I’m having a really bad breakout day I will use origins because of that extra acne fighting power. I rated it 4 stars however because it piles off and although it isn’t oily it looks like it on the skin if you put just a bit too much. The bliss bright idea is my go to for everyday and has not caused me any problems. It has vitimin c and collagen which will leave your skin moisturized and help with brightening and clearing scars. It also has niacinamide which is going to help with the oil production. I love this cause it is amazingly moisturizing, fighting oily skin, clearing acne scars, brightening and antiwrinkle!
