Tired of looking for the perfect vitamin C serum
I have been testing SO many different vitamin C serums. I feel that with one product that has most of my boxes crossed of (for everything I want in the serum) along comes the negative effects. What I’m trying to say, for example, is that I always used to use DE’s C Firma. With C Firma, you get amazing benefits, but it was so sticky and smelled horrible. Enter these two- Olehenrickson’s banana bright serum and Allies of Skin vitamin C serum. The OleHen serum claims to be a powerful age-defying serum with 15% vitamin c, 5% PHA’s, and HA that instantly brightens, visibly firms, plumps skin hydration, and reduces the appearance of dark spots, pores, and wrinkles. The Allies of Skin serum claims to be the worlds first waterless 35% vitamin C serum supercharged with an antioxidant complex of superoxide dismutase + glutathione for intense brightening, repair, and collagen building. With the OleHenrickson’s serum, you get a beautiful creamy texture and a gorgeous fresh citrus scent. The serum itself has PHA’s in it, which aren’t as heavily used in skincare as the typical AHA and BHA’s. SO that really sets the serum apart from the harsher vitamin c’s on the market right now. PHA’s tend to be hydrating and gentle. This serum’s downfall is the inability to play well with others in my skincare routine. It typically pills if I try to layer other products on top. Another downfall is that it takes a really long time to see any results, if you notice a difference at all. But, it is a pleasant serum to use for hydrating the skin. I wouldn’t rush out to buy it, though, because it is a bit pricey. I have been using the AOS 35% vitamin C collagen rebuilding serum for almost 6 months. It is hands down the best vitamin C serum I have ever used. It checks every single box for me with the ONLY negative being the price. But when you realize how jam-packed it is with results-driven and science proven ingredients, you can agree that it’s justified. This serum has more of a dry-oil type texture, with zero scent nor color. I love how easily this silky serum spreads onto the skin and absorbs. It leaves such a dewy glow and makes your skin so soft. I thought I was crazy, but I started to take progress pictures while using this.. it significantly lightened my PIH within ONE WEEK. Those are midblowing results. I highly recommend this serum. One empty one newbie
Got my new YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - 15% Vitamin C + Clean Caffeine Energy Serum the other day and just in time- my OLE HENRIKSEN - Banana Bright Vitamin C Serum just finished. So far I’m LOVING YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - 15% Vitamin C + Clean Caffeine Energy Serum I think moreso than the OLE HENRIKSEN - Banana Bright Vitamin C Serum . I like the formula of the YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - 15% Vitamin C + Clean Caffeine Energy Serum more and the iverall experience. It has a ginger scent in it which is highly invigorating, so great for my mornings. I love the watery texture it comes in and love the caffeine in it too. Caffeine is known to be great for de-puffing and overall smoothing and skin-texture improving, and I love my first impressions of the depuffing/decongestion with the caffeine. Totally feel like this was made for my mornings. OLE HENRIKSEN - Banana Bright Vitamin C Serum has a creamier formula, which I dont prefer, but it does smooth out to a flawless, non-tacky finish. The banana bright formula has a banana powder that instantly brightens the skin, but its like coloured skincare rather than longterm skincare. It does work, but its not long lasting. I do really love that formula in eye cream though 😍 my eyes can always use a wake up call. All in all I think I’m definitely gonna like the YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - 15% Vitamin C + Clean Caffeine Energy Serum more!
Current morning & night routine ☀️🌙
Hey beauties! I wanted to share my current skin routine for morning & night, since I've updated it with some new products that I'm enjoying and it's been working for me. Hope it works for you too! :) ☀️Morning: 1. I typically don't wash my face since all I did was sleep and I do this routine pretty soon after I wake up. So the first step is really to use almost a whole pump of OLE HENRIKSEN - Banana Bright Vitamin C Serum on my whole face 2. Then I use about a dime sized amount of myKiehl's - Ultra Facial Cream 3. Glossier. - Balm Dotcom goes on my lips - I prefer either fig, birthday, berry or coconut 4. Volia! That's easy :) 🌙Evening: 1. Cleanse my face in the shower using a half pump of YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser 2. After my shower, I sometimes use my facial roller (it's SEPHORA COLLECTION - Rose Quartz Facial Rollerand Idk what to rate it as since it's the only one I have) 3. Next is the serum - depending on what's the issue; if it's acne:Glossier. - Solution Exfoliating Skin Perfector, redness and/or irritation: Glossier. - Super Pure Niacinamide + Zinc Serum, or just feels ok / needs a little something to smooth out or be more hydrated: TATCHA - The Dewy Serum Resurfacing and Plumping Treatment 4. If I want to use an eye cream, I go with the Ole Henriksen banana bright eye creme from this set: OLE HENRIKSEN - Let's Get Luminous Brightening Essentials Set it's a half size one and the set is only $40 5. Glossier. - Balm Dotcom again because it's hydrating enough for me (yes my lips do get dry since they're a little chapped when I wake up, but I don't think I necessarily need a lip mask) 6. Of course, the last step is a facial spray, and it's always my Avène - Thermal Spring Water Spraybc I can't live without it. In case you're curious, the total price for my routine is $363!! (that includes all the products I mentioned) 🤯

GAME CHANGER VITAMIN C
Let’s be honest... the most effective vitamin C products on the market right now are either too sensitizing or degrade too quickly. I’ve had trouble finding an effective, gentle, vitamin C product that actually works for my oily, acne prone, sensitive skin type... until I was able to try this one by Allies of Skin. While it is pricey at $118, the product itself is made to last up to a year and is highly stable compared to other formulas that are made with water (which makes them unstable and easily degradable). The product is made with 35% vitamin C derivatives that are gentle to the skin, and a formula that mimics a dry oil that can be used by any skin type since it absorbs quickly. I’ve used an entire bottle which lasted me several months with daily use. My skin absolutely loved it until the end, and I was sad to have emptied it. When I used this, dark spots had lightened and I noticed an overall brighter complexion. No acne whatsoever from this product. AOS continuously impressed me with their advanced formulas and I will always recommend this product (and their entire range). They recently repackaged it so that it is not in a dropper bottle anymore- even more worth it at the same price! Tip: Next time Dermstore has a 20% off sale, grab this because AOS sells quickly! Hoping you try this out!
All Hail Queen C!
All hail the new QUEEN of Vitamin C @alliesofskin 35% Vitamin C Collagen Rebuilding Serum! Move Aside all you fakers! She’s the true queen and she’s here to stay! She is the first of her kind at such a high concentration of Vitamin C in a waterless formula! Along with 25% LAA it also has 10% TetraHexylDecyl Ascorbate which helps the make this serum lipid soluble and help penetrate our skin deeper! . . What is this sorcery? It is THE BEST Vitamin C serum on the market! I have been using it for a few weeks now as I started using it about a month after I started using other AOS products as I wanted to finish my open Vitamin C serum! It is definitely an instant gratitude but think of it as going 10 notches higher than any other brand without all the tackiness or the nasty bacon smell. It repairs on a cellular level and forms a protective shield against photo-aging damage and pollutants while paving the way for brighter, firmer skin. With consistent use collagen production is boosted; dark spots are cleared, and skin glows with a brilliant smoothness. I haven’t used it very long but I can already see that my PIH is fading and skin looks and feels smoother and brighter and more even. I have been using Vitamin C serums for past couple of years and I haven’t seen these dramatic results with any other Vitamin C. Her results are like no other! Move aside all you fakers because she stays potent for 12 months once opened! Say What? 12 Months! And you fakers can’t even hold up for the 3 months you claim on your packaging! She Plays well with her own family and others! QUEEN C is here to stay and is not going anywhere! She’s Pricey but man is she worth it! Allies of Skin - VITAMIN C 35% COLLAGEN REBUILDING SERUM
Truth serum is one of those cult products everyone raves about so I had to try it. After going through the travel size, I went out and bought the full size. Clearly I enjoyed it enough to repurchase. It’s a watery gel-like formula with a slight citrusy scent. This lightweight vitamin c serum also comes with great packaging that keeps it from oxidizing and helps retain its potency. It’s meant to help fade dark spots, plump skin, brighten, add hydration, and leave you with glowing skin. The truth serum is a nice product but it hasn’t helped much with dark spots. That being said, it does plump and brighten my skin and makes it GLOW. Initially, I used this alongside caudalie’s vinoperfect serum and saw an improvement on dark spots, but it doesn’t do anything for me on its own. I still enjoy this product for its other benefits but I think I’ll give another vitamin c product a try. I’d say it worth checking out even with the price because a little goes a long way. P.s. just checked the price and I’m pretty sure it’s gone up since I bought mine 🤔 #OLEHENRIKSEN - Truth Serum[goods]#[FourStars]
4 VITAMIN C FAVES 💕 Mini Reviews
Vit C should be the most commonly purchased skincare serum. There are so many reasons why a Vitamin C serum is important to use and it's basically a cure-all beauty product. Most serums help with sun damage, fine lines, acne scars, under eye bags, free-radicals and antioxidants. These are the 4 serums I own and love! I wanted to make a post about each of these in case you need help finding the right one. I received @thrivecausemetics Liquid Light Therapy as PR in April (I believe). I can not obsess enough over it. This one is 100% my favorite one I've tried, there is just something about the texture and consistency that feels so good ($59). I love this because it brightens the skin with red and blue light therapy to stimulate collage production and dramatically reduce wrinkles and reveal clear skin @summerfridays CC Me ($64) is next up on my list of faves. This one is also formulated with squalane to boost hydration while sealing in moisture and a peptide complex to help improve with elasticity and firmness. I find that this serum as well as the next one I am going to talk about are really good at brightening dull skin or if you have a lot of hyperpigmentation and use these twice a day, I do find that it truly helps combat it. I love @farmacybeauty lately! I am obsessed. I had a sample of the Very Cherry Bright 15% Clean Vitamin C Serum and once I finished I was really reaching for more, so I caved and purchased a full size ($62) I find this one to be an interesting formula because it has 4 forms of Vitamin C. They use Acerola Cherry Extract which is one of the richest sources of NATURAL vitamin C to known to reduce signs of aging. If we want to talk about funky formulas, nothing could beat @volitionbeauty Strawberry-C Serum ($42). This formula is powered by Strawberry Fruit & Seed Extract to help brighten dull skin as well as unclogging pores and remove excess oil. This was the first full sized Vitamin C I purchased, mainly because of the reviews and the price! Although I no longer reach for this one as much, I do find if you want a great started serum or you aren't looking to spend a lot - this one does the job!
SUMMER FRIDAYS-CC Me Vitamin C Serum
Sweetchef Ginger + Vitamin C Serum Shot
Lets talk about everyone’s brightening bff Vitamin C serum !!! 🍊✨ - I haven’t really tried that many vitamin c serums because after I tried the Mario Badescu one (its trash dont recommend) and had the most awful reaction ever I was basically much scarred from ever using one again. Also a lot of vit c serums are pretty darn pricy and I haven’t gotten myself to actually go out and treat myself to a good one. I picked the Ginger + Vitamin C Serum shot by @sweetchefskin (glow recipes sister brand hi ily) from Target and have been using it consistently in the am for a few weeks - This serum is only $20 which really isn’t bad for a face serum and I have really been enjoying it so far! The serums texture feels a bit tacky at first but it absorbed into my skin so well and it was easy to layer on all my other products. The smell is super subtle/refreshing and not overpowering whatsoever. There wasn’t really any immediate results which I didn’t expect but overtime it has helped with some hyperpigmentation and evening out my skin. My only big downside would have to be the dropper. It was sort of a pain to work with/ product for out, but it wasn’t that big of a deal for me. I wouldn’t say this serum is anything intense so it’s definitely a good vitamin c serum for beginners that wont break the bank! - What are your holy grail Vitamin C serums? I need to try some new ones out 🧡
All time favorite vitamin c serum!
The olehenriksen truth serum is marketed to all skin types and is formulated with vitamin c and collagen. It targets hyperpigmentation by using vitamin c to brighten skin. It has a sticky liquidy texture and smells like oranges. When applied, it feels slightly sticky but dries down completely normal. Overall, I really enjoy this product and it’s the best vitamin c serum I’ve ever used. After using this for over a year, I have noticed definite fading of my hyperpigmentation and brightening of my skin. I bought it after reading during the Sephora sale last year and I have repurchased it multiple times. I have recommended this product to my whole family, and highly recommend it to anyone else. It is definitely worth the price because it is extremely effective and has amazing results over time. #OLEHENRIKSEN - Truth Serum[goods]#[FiveStars]
Get Your Vitamin C 🍊
I’ve been using the Ole Henriksen Truth Serum for about a month now. It’s a vitamin c serum that’s supposed to help brighten skin. I started off with the trial-sized bottle and I really like it. I’ve noticed increased brightness since I started using it and a little bit goes a long way. Two pumps covers my face, neck and chest. I was able to make the trial bottle last the whole month (I still have some left!). The serum is smooth and sinks into skin after a few second. I think I’ll buy another bottle! I’d give it 4.5 stars if it was an option, but I’m giving four just because the scent is a little over the top fake orangey. It is also expensive ($72 for a large bottle, $50 for a medium bottle and $24 for the trial size), but, like I said, it really lasts. I still recommend! OLE HENRIKSEN - Truth Serum
OLE HENRIKSEN-Truth Serum
"Truth (Serum) will set you free"
If I had to pick 1 serum in my life, it has to be this one. Ole Henrikson promotes it as an antioxidant-rich vitamin C serum that provides hydration all day while leaving the skin bright and firm. I truly have tested 2 other C serums this winter and this one does not fail in terms of glow and hydration. It goes on like silk, it's not oily, and it smells beautiful (like orange sherbet kisses on my skin). It leaves a slight tacky-ness which lingers for 10 seconds. I love the way my skin glows when I wear this and how my makeup wears. I've been using this for a bit over a year and when I run out I try to test different brands but there's not one I want to come back to like this one. It's not a cheap product, but it also doesn't break the bank, which is why I find it to be worth the price! I highly recommend this product.

My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity.
