First ever non-aerosol dry shampoo.. I’m in love
I can’t believe I never noticed the lack of dry shampoo is in non aerosol cans?! How awful for the environment and for my lungs. I didn’t know how big of a difference a different style packaging, would make! I have been completely converted to this adorable squeeze tube style dry shampoo! The Ouai super dry shampoo: claims to be super absorbent and to instantly soak up oil to revive the scalp. Briogeo scalp revival charcoal + biotin dry shampoo: claims to be a unique charcoal infused dry shampoo that detoxifies, cleanses, and balances the scalp for optimal health. My scalp is extremely dry and itchy ALL THE TIME. My roots still manage to get very oily after a few days and I need a good dry shampoo to rescue me. The thing with dry shampoos is that they can be very drying and leave a lot of build up in your hair, causing itchiness. I have finally met my perfect match, a dry shampoo that does the job but also leaves your scalp more balanced and soothed, hi briogeo! I personally find, that using the ouai dry shampoo, is such a pain! The aerosol can is extremely powerful and deposits way too much product on my roots, leaving a white film. I also find the scent to be overpowering along with the extremely dry finish it leaves on your roots. It’s just too much! Enter the briogeo dry shampoo, with squeeze tube packaging, that makes it so easy to use the perfect amount of product. You squeeze the product “puffing” it directly into your roots. The scent is very subtle and smells like tea tree. It also leaves my hair perfectly clean without the white cast. I honestly only want to recommend the briogeo one, but I know that many people need HEAVY DUTY oil control when they’re reaching for a dry shampoo. In that case, I would recommend the ouai one. Like many beauty items, it comes down to personal preference! Briogeo - Scalp Revival Charcoal + Biotin Dry Shampoo

Battle of the powder dry shampoo’s!
I have extremely oily hair and the Bumble and Bumble Prêt-à-powder has been my holy grail for SO long. I’ve been through more bottles than I can count. I love it because it lasts way longer than spray, absorbs oil and gives my hair amazing texture. Now enter the new Briogeo Charcoal + Biotin Shampoo, a similar product so I had to test it out and compare the two! They’re both great at absorbing oil. I would say the white cast on the Briogeo is a TINY bit worse but it absorbs after some time. The Briogeo smells better and has a better sprayer, the B&B has no scent and you just have to sort of dump it on through the sifter. But I will say that the B&B gives way better texture to my hair. I get SO much volume with it I still love it, it also lasts days after using it. The Briogeo doesn’t give nearly as much texture and my scalp feels really powdery after using it. Overall I love both and will use them both up, but I think the Bumble is still my holy grail! ✨ Briogeo - Scalp Revival Charcoal + Biotin Dry Shampoo Bumble and bumble. - Pret-A-Powder
Sephora Best & “Meh”: Hair Products
About my hair: very thick, wavy/curly, & prone to dryness & frizziness Fave: IGK - Good Behavior 4-in-1 Prep Spray This is a recent addition to my collection and came in an Influenster box. It claims to detangle, fight frizz, prevent heat damage, & add shine. spray on damp hair post-wash, comb through, and wrap my hair for about 30 min in a cotton t-shirt. This stuff gives me the sleekest + shiniest blowout with NO additional products. I’ve never had one product do that. Most other blow dry sprays require me to also use a smoothing cream. I have used this as a leave-in for air drying or diffusing & it leaves my hair soft. Has a sweet “salon”-type scent, all hair types can use. This will be a repurchase. $27 Meh: Briogeo - Scalp Revival Charcoal + Biotin Dry Shampoo This contains tapioca, charcoal, rice powder, witch hazel, & biotin. It’s a powder that is dispensed by turning the nozzle & gently squeezing the bottle. Cool concept because it’s more easily recyclable. While this does soak up excess oils & makes my hair look cleaner on day 3/4/5, I don’t like how heavy it feels and my hair feels...gross. Light rose/perfume scent, all hair types can use. Gifted by brand - wouldn’t repurchase. $24 Fave: Bumble and bumble. - Bb. Curl Reactivator This spray is designed to restore moisture definition for curly/wavy hair the next day & beyond. It contains avocado, jojoba, & coconut oils, and shea & cocoa butters. I’ve played around with this a few times (including dry hair), and found it works best for me when I dampen my hair about 15-20% with water, then spray liberally and scrunch lightly. It does add some moisture and revives my wave/curl pattern. It does leave me a bit frizzy, though. Has a “salon”-type scent. Will repurchase on sale. $28 Meh: OLAPLEX - No. 3 Hair Perfector This is a bond-restoring treatment to strengthen & improve hair appearance. I’ve only tried this once, but based on others’ reviews I expected to be blown away at 1st use. I applied the cream to damp, towel-dried, unwashed hair & waited about 12 min. My hair didn’t feel or look any different post-wash. Maybe my bar was set too high? Also, I would fly through this product because a full size is only 3.3oz. So far I’m not wowed but will try this again. Mine was a Sephora freebie & I will have to cut the tube open to get 2 uses. Light perfume scent, all hair types can use. $28 All brands are cruelty-free & products are safe for color-treated hair. Briogeo & Olaplex are part of the “clean at Sephora” program since they are sulfate and paraben-free. The Sephora VIB/holiday sale is coming up soon (I think 10/30?), so this would be a great time to try something new or restock on faves. #CheriePartner
The Ouai for Curly Hair
I've been testing out a few Ouai products they sent me a while ago for my curls to see how they do. So far I'm liking the Leave-in Conditioner for refreshing my hair and the Finishing Creme for styling! They smell AMAZING! I'm not a big dry shampoo girl since my scalp is dry rather then oily, so curly girls tell me how you use dry shampoo for your hair. Have you guys tried Ouai products before? What are your faves? I think I want to they their new treatments masks next. Products: * OUAI - Finishing Creme * OUAI - Super Dry Shampoo * OUAI - OUAI Leave-In Conditioner *OUAI - Rose Hair & Body Oil * OUAI - OUAI Hair Oil
Dry shampoo battle... who wins?
These are the 2 dry shampoos I have in my collection. I reach for one way more than the other so I just want to go over both of them! OUAI - Super Dry Shampoo This dry shampoo has the typical ouai scent which I do like. It’s an aerosol can like most dry shampoos tend to be. When I spray this, it does give my dark hair chalky roots. Usually I can get it to fade by rubbing it in a little bit. It does an okay job absorbing oil. It works on 2-3 day hair but beyond that it’s useless. I care more about my hair looking good than smelling good so I don’t totally love it. Plus it was pretty pricey overall. It says 4.5oz but it does not seem like that much. I don’t use this often and it’s running very low. Overall I would not purchase again. Briogeo - Scalp Revival Charcoal + Biotin Dry Shampoo I actually love this dry shampoo. It’s non aerosol so it’s better for the environment and less harsh on your hair too. You shake the bottle and squeeze it onto your hair. Application can be a bit uneven but the powder is super light so you can fluff it around to cover everywhere. It leaves a big white cast but when you fluff it out, is goes away and leaves your hair looking voluminous. It absorbs oil so well and makes my 5-6 day hair look fresh and clean! The scent is light and fresh too. This is only 1.7 oz but it seems to be lasting forever and I use it multiple times a week tbh! I will probably purchase this again because it works so well for me

✂️ Friday, Hair we are!
Featuring briogeo's Scalp Revival line (kindly gifted). This set is the only BFF your hair will need. I'm a daily hair washer and I've never "trained" my hair to skip a day. So, when there are days I get lazy or tired and tryyy to sneak into not washing, my hair FRRRREAKS out. 🤯 It gets oily, dry, and so itchy! And that's when I turn to this AH-mazing Scalp Revival line for help. The charcoal + tea tree scalp treatment (my absolute faaaavorite) works wonders at making my scalp feel instantly cool and calm and it gets rid of any dry, itchy feeling. The micro-exfoliating shampoo is so soothing and its great for cleansing and removing all the build-up and it feels especially awesome when using the stimulating massager to get deep into the scalp. And the dry shampoo, although I don't use it too often, works great at removing that oily look! I love love love this line so much and highly recommend it anyone and everyone. Anywhos... happy Friday, my peeps! Hope you all have a great weekend. 😘❤.

What they do: 1- Reset Pink Charcoal Scalp Cleansing Oil- It has pink clay and charcoal, which gently draw out impurities and remove product build-up without stripping hair. 2- Reset Clarifying Shampoo attract dirt like a magnet to draw out impurities + remove product buildup, without stripping. Reset clarifying shampoo is not recommended for color treated hair 3- Reset Cooling Gel Conditioner It’s a gel formula that delivers hydration without the weight. It’s enriched with refreshing menthol, this formula soothes the scalp + restores moisture balance My thoughts: First I used the Cleansing Oil. It truly leaves your scalp feeling suuuuper clean! It smells amazing! You have to apply this to dry scalp. Do not wet your hair. After that I used the Clarifying Shampoo. It smells divine too! It leaves your hair feeling so so so clean and light! Love this stuff! This one is not recommended for color treated hair, but I still went ahead and used it. It did not strip my hair color at all and mind you, I’m a new redhead! Last step is the Cooling Conditioner. It’s cooling but not in an annoying way. It feels so good! My hair felt super soft and refreshed! After I styled my hair I noticed that my hair had volume! Which almost never happens! 😭 Pretty sure it’s because the Cleansing oil and Clarifying Shampoo got all the product build-up out of my hair. Truly love these three!

Kristin Ess is a hair care brand I discovered at Target. The Style Reviving Dry Shampoo is a favorite of mine. It ticks all the boxes for me—Affordable. Invisible. Not too heavy or powdery. No really strong perfume scent. It also manages to be really silky which I’m totally in love with. It’s not too drying or heavy feeling in the hair plus it makes my hair soft and silky. I’m totally obsessed with it The scalp line was intriguing and my favorite is the Purifying Micellar Shampoo & Daily Scalp + Hair Mask. This shampoo has such a nice easy thin texture. It’s SLS free, has no dyes and no fragrance. It’s quite literally perfect. It cleans really well yet so gently. My hair is soft, clean and never stripped when I use this. The mask has such a nice buttery texture. No silicones or heavy slippery polymer feel. This is my favorite kind of hair mask. One that gives amazing hydration without weighing the hair down. I never get oily using this mask. I could actually use it as a conditioner Winter Wheat Signature Hair Gloss is the ultimate dream item I’ve been looking for. I’ve been coloring my hair since I was fifteen. Right around when I went from dirty blonde to brunette naturally. This is a temporary toning gloss you apply in the shower. Or you can dampen your hair, apply and then get in the shower like I did. It reduces brassiness like nothing else I have tried plus adds a glossy shine. I hate purple shampoos because they’re not really that effective & they can leave my hair purple. It’s a miracle product. I just bought two more Overall I really loved this Kristin Ess line. It feels luxury & affordable. My favorites are the Dry Shampoo, Micellar Shampoo, Scalp Mask & Hair Gloss. I love that the line is cruelty free, safe for colored hair and free of sulfates & silicones.

HOLY GRAIL FOR THIN HAIR
OUAI - OUAI Leave-In Conditioner YOU GUYS. I have the thinnest, limpest hair in all of the world and I can NEVER use hair products for this reason, but this baby is my saving grace. I use it every day. I actually stopped using conditioner (because I’m afraid conditioner & this would be too much) but this products leaves my hair smooth, silky, shiny, and even acts as a heat protectant. I use it every single morning (I wash my hair every day - don’t yell at me). I don’t use it if I’m not blow drying my hair though. I’m so thankful I found this product.

We all know Briogeo makes some great hair products overall (their farewell frizz was my go to for so long!) but today I am here to talk about a few of their scalp products! Briogeo - Scalp Revival Charcoal + Coconut Oil Micro-exfoliating Scalp Scrub Shampoo This microexfoliating shampoo is great for people who use product in their hair often as it helps exfoliate some of the buildup out. It has a really nice vanilla mint scent IMO which I am a big fan of. It’s not too rough on the scalp and doesn’t feel super exfoliating when you’re scrubbing, but does work well. My hair feels so soft and looks really shiny after using it. Briogeo - Scalp Revival Charcoal + Biotin Dry Shampoo Seeing a dry shampoo not in an aerosol can was surprising but a welcome change. You have to shake this one before each “spray” which means some sprays are large and some are just a little puff. So application can be kind of annoying. Once you get it applied, it works really well. I let it sit on my dark hair for 10 minutes and then zhoosh it in to my hair and the white cast disappears, plus it gives me some volume. It doesn’t have a super strong scent which I like. But it does soak up oils in the hair well Briogeo - Scalp Revival Stimulating Therapy Massager Unfortunately I don’t think this is for my hair type. It is meant to massage to scalp and it felt good on my scalp, but it also tended to rip my hair out. I do have super straight, flat, but also tangly hair so it just didn’t seem like a great product for me. I bet curly hair girls would love something like this Overall I think Briogeo makes some nice products. The standout to me in this line is the exfoliating shampoo which smells so nice and does wonders for my hair, so if you are looking to only get one of their products, let this be it!
