THE BEST NATURAL DEOS IVE EVER TRIED!
skincareaholic_
Natural deodorants are SO tough to shop for. They all claim to keep the stink away and last you all day, but do they actually work? I have been through SO many natural deos that I was getting very discouraged that I wouldnāt ever find one that worked, without weird side effects. Iāve had problems with them staining my clothes, burning my arm pits, and just plain smelling BAD. These two are the best that I have ever tried! Letās find out which is for you!
I want to start by saying my under arms are incredibly sensitive. Most deos burn my skin. They also tend to get stinky and sweaty within an hour if I forget deo.
Both of these deodorants are marketed to be free of the bad ingredients like aluminum, parabens, and other harmful ingredients. They are meant for anyone, with any skin type, that needs to protect their underarms from odor. The Necessaire deo currently comes in the eucalyptus scent only. This isnāt my favorite smell in the world, but it definitely masks odor. I do find the scent a bit overpowering for my preference. Whereas the drunk elephant deo comes out initially smelling of almonds and the scent quickly disappears. I didnāt think I would like an unscented deo, but I love it!
The textures of each of these deos is very different! The Necessaire one is a tad more thick and almost paste-like. The DE deodorant is very creamy and spreads on clear! This is a huge selling point for me, as I cannot stand white paste being in my arm pits. The DE one completely absorbs, too! The last difference, that was a complete game changer for me was that one of these BURNS when my skin is sensitive after shaving. I find that the Necessaire one burns and tingles on sensitive skin and that the DE deo is super soothing. If you have more sensitive of arm pits, I would opt for the DE deo! If you more so need a stronger scent to mask your odor, you should go for the Necessaire deo!
These are still both the ābest of the bestā that I have found. They both WORK and I will probably always keep both around for specific uses. I highly recommend them.

MarinaIniguezDid the DE deo irritate your skin at the beginning? Because I bought it in hopes that it will clear my under arm but it just irritated it and I see no difference

šFirst Impressions: n@tural deodorant newbie!
Iāve detoxed aluminum for a couple months now & excited for my first real foray into natural deo!
I have tried Tom's OF MAINE - Fresh Apricot Natural Long Lasting Deodorant a long time ago, but it really didnāt cut it for me when I was a waitress.
I started using:
š¹Dove - Dry Spray Antiperspirant & Deodorant Rose Petals earlier this year... Its my favorite scent of all the Dove Dry Sprays, a pretty elevated Rose scent for a drugstore brand! But, like most antiperspirants, it does contain aluminum.
Old fave:
CLARINS - Gentle Care Roll-On Deodorant This contains aluminum as well, but alcohol free. This was a 5-star product & basically a holy grail product for me for years, but then it suddenly stopped working for me. It made me sweat even more!
It was wildly out of my price range for a deodorant when I discovered it in college. Working across the street from a mall (& on the same block as Sephoraš) led me to spend many lunch breaks trying samples & feeling bougie. Going to Sephora before work to tone, serum, moisturize & do makeup is a story for another day-real broke bitch shitšš»āāļø
This deodorant smelled so much better, more fancy & refined than others Iād tried from Walgreens or Target. It had a somewhat liquidy texture that dried pretty quickly, but maybe not fast enough for some people.
Still give it 5āļøbecause it was a game changer for me & so effective fort quite a long time- until it wasnāt. Iāve heard of this happening with antiperspirants though?
My first impressions:
DRUNK ELEPHANT - Sweet Pitti Deodorant Cream
Scent:
I wasnāt sure what to expect of the scent, but itās quite pleasant. Smells sorta sweet like Almond oilš¤
I was really impressed by how it smelled on/off my body, because thereās always a difference...
I can be really stinky at times since I go through a lot of temperature changes due to my condition, causing me to sweat sometimes even in the cold.
Keeps me fresh, but I do need to reapply.
Ingredients:
Instead of aluminum as the 2nd ingredient, like most antiperspirants, Sweet Pitti utilizes DEās star bodycare ingredient: Almonds!
The AHA, Mandelic Acid, derived from Almonds is both water & oil soluble. This quality that allows it to penetrate & remain effective within the hair follicle. This alpha hydroxy acid is also a great bacteria killerš¦ -which is the singular reason why sweat stinks!
ā ļøUsing any olā AHA on your sensitive armpits wonāt be a good idea, but Mandelic Acid is milder on skin than Salicylic or Glycolic acids, due to a larger molecule size.
So, while the aluminum present in antiperspirants attempts to prevent sweat by physically blocking your sweat glands, this deodorant uses powder from Arrowroot plant as an absorbent ingredient.
Texture:
Donāt twist too much or too fast with this- can get messy. Itās very creamy, you donāt need much. Doesnāt feel wet for too long & I havenāt noticed any staining on my clothes yet.

Full size prices in bold:
DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Happi Scalp Scrub
$36/6 oz pH 3.7
DRUNK ELEPHANT - Sili⢠Body Lotion $20/8 oz pH 4.2
This & the body cleanser are actually the only Drunk Elephant products Iāve ever tried. I received a generous sized sample from Sephora & really liked it, part of the reason I wanted to buy this set, & so I could try their other body products. It has a strong scent, even though itās fragrance-free. It smells like almond oil & oatmeal, I love it.
DRUNK ELEPHANT - Kamili Cream Body Cleanser $20/8 oz pH 5
This was the sample that truly impressed me. Iāve been having some concerns finding a cleanser thatās pH balanced & gentle enough for everywhere, if you know what I mean. I noticed a major difference after using it just twice. This body wash is definitely not stripping any moisture. Like all Drunk Elephant products, itās fragrance-free, but has a lovely natural scent thatās very subtle. Hard to describe... itās fresh & bright. Ugh I sound like a 2000s perfume commercial lol.
- the seal was broken on this item though.
DRUNK ELEPHANT - Wild Marula Tangle Spray
$25/4 oz pH 4.5
šI think this was what was leaking, but I have not completed my investigation lol.
DRUNK ELEPHANT - Cocomino Marula Cream Conditioner$25/8 oz pH 3.6
DRUNK ELEPHANT - Cocomino Glossing Shampoo$25/8 oz pH 5.5
DRUNK ELEPHANT - Sweet Pitti Deodorant Cream$16/4 oz pH 4
Definitely excited to hop on the natural deo train. Iāve been wearing nothing for a while to detox aluminum... but I should be ready to try this really soon.

Silky body lotion show down! Who wins??
In case you didnāt hear... DRUNK ELEPHANT JUST LAUNCHED A BODY AND HAIR CARE LINE! Does the new body lotion live up to the hype?
The answer is YES. Does it beat out my old favorite, the body lotion by Necessaire? Also YES. Both of these products are marketed as a basic body moisturizer that is non-fragrant. They are made for dry skin that is in need of some moisture and ideal for all skin types.
For some background: my body skin is very dehydrated and dry, with occasional irritation. In the winter, most body lotions that contain fragrance (both of these are non-fragranced) tend to sting and burn my skin. Iām happy to report that both of these are very hydrating and soothing!
So whatās the difference? Huge difference to me is, first, the packaging. I HATE fumbling around with wet hands trying to screw on and off a cap, aka the Necessaire body lotion. The squeeze tube is really nice, but please give ya girl a flip top cap, at least! I really love how easy it is to handle the DE body lotionās flip top cap and sleek body. Secondly, the scents... non-fragranced just means that thereās no ADDED fragrance, but natural fragrance from ingredients can still smell. The DE lotion comes out smelling like almonds, which is pleasant IMO, but it completely goes away within seconds. I tend to think the Necessaire lotion smells almost of plastic when itās on the skin. Thirdly, they both absorb into the skin instantly, and like a dream. BUT, my personal favorite is the DE body lotion because of this very key point: it feels way thicker and nourishing on my skin. The hydration sticks around so much longer. If you rather have a thinner body lotion and your skin isnāt as dehydrated as mine, you could opt for the Necessaire lotion instead. But I need mega moisture!
At the end of the day, I really like both products. If my skin needs a ton of moisture, I opt to using the DE one. If my skin feels pretty hydrated already, then Iāll go with the thinner the Necessaire body lotion. I highly recommend them both.

All Natural Deoderant
The Freshen Up deoderant by Farmacy is definitely not what I am use to. Itās more of a gel deoderant which makes your under arms a little tacky and wet feeling after application. But it does dry pretty quickly. I love the cooling affect that it has upon application and the scent is a nice and subtle fresh scent. I wouldnāt recommend this to someone who deals with a lot of perspiration because it definitely needs to be reapplied during the day. I love trying new all natural deoderants and testing new products that I am not use to. I love the aspect of an all natural deoderant but it definitely takes some time for your ph levels to get use to this deoderant. It might take a few days for your levels to change and get accumulated to the new style of deoderant. I unfortunately do not have that much patience so I couldnāt wait for my body to get used to this deoderant. I think it was mainly because the overall feeling of the product on my skin... just creeped me out. I just felt wet and sweaty and didnāt like it at all. But the scent and cooling feeling was nice. Finally a natural deodorant that works!!! šø
Today I have my review of the @drunkelephant Sweet Pitti⢠Deodorant Cream š This was my first time trying out a natural deodorant and wow what have I been doing my whole life! š I have absolutely fallen in love with this deodorant! I was nervous about trying out a natural deodorant because Iāve heard they can stay feeling wet on the skin. ā¢
ā¢
The Sweet Pitti has a light creamy texture that dries down almost instantly. It kept me protected for well over 12+ hours. I tested it on a extremely hot day here in Vancouver and I didnāt feel the need to reapply. It has a very pleasant light almond scent that I really enjoy. ā¢
ā¢
I highly recommend picking up the @drunkelephant Sweet Pitti deodorant! You will absolutely fall in love with it! ššøš

Moisturized Legs for Daysss āļø
The proof is in the pudding, you guys - Drunk Elephantās Sili body lotion has been keeping my legs hydrated, soft & moisturized during this summer season. No one wants to be walking around in a pair of shorts with dry, flaky, ashy looking legs. I love applying this body lotion after showering at night - it is such a long lasting body lotion where I donāt ever feel the need to reapply throughout the day. The formula of this body lotion is filled with ceramides & lots of other great beneficial ingredients to provide moisture & hydration. I canāt wait to see what other body products Drunk Elephant creates to nourish the bodyās skin. The skin on our body deserves the same amount of love & attention that we give to our face! And compared to the price point of their skincare line, $20 for 6 oz or incredible quality body lotion is a complete bargain!

šProduct information: Crushed Amethyst Exfoliating Body Polish ($44 for 6.6oz). It has Virgin coconut oil (moisturizing, calming, soothing), Epsom Salt (helps release tension, gives a calm feeling and has magnesium), Crushed Amethyst Gemstones (exfoliates to give soft, luminous skin). People reacting to coconut should patch test before purchasing the full size product.
šProduct texture: Grainy and exfoliation could be controlled by diluting the grains with water.
šMy Experience: I love a good exfoliation. I purchased this as soon as it was released. To be honest, this is a very good exfoliation. It can be too harsh for people with sensitive skin but the best part is you can add a little water to it to make the exfoliation gentle. Since it has epsom salts, sometimes I used to mix it, in my bath for a calming feeling. I really enjoyed this scrub. I would probably repurchase this after I go through my current stash.
šLike/ Dislike: LIKE
šWould I recommend it? Yes. Has coconut oil and hence patch test before purchasing the full size.
šRating of the product: 4.3/5
I wanted to share about this gorgeous body oil I received from bastide recently. As you may have noticed, I've been super into natural, artisanal, kind of old-world style brands these days, and I've been loving oils lately as well. The Bastide body oil smells like š orange blossoms and it's a "dry" oil so it absorbs extremely fast. I have very dry skin on my legs and applying a body oil right after a shower seems to be the best solution for them without feeling sticky and gross. I loooove using this one -- it smells amazing and it sinks in immediately. If I can't soak up the sun in Aix-en-Provence in person, at least I can apply the product of its sunshine on my skin!
