Tinted mineral sunscreen

It’s been awhile since I reviewed a new sunscreen since I’ve been sticking to my favorites. So today, I wanted to share my thoughts on KINSHIP - Self Reflect Probiotic Moisturzing Sunscreen Zinc Oxide SPF 32
. This is a physical sunscreen that uses 22.4 zinc oxide as it’s main UV filter to protect your skin from UVA and UVB rays. This has a lightweight creamy texture that easily spreads over the skin. It also has a beautiful peachy tint which disappears once you really work this into your skin. But this won’t ever leave you with a white cast. I enjoyed the tint that this sunscreen had because it helped even out my complexion as well as reduce some of the redness around my cheeks. This dries down to a matte to skin like finish based on how much you use. I originally said that this felt slightly greasy on my skin but that only happened towards the end of the day. I actually quite like the finish of this sunscreen, and how much moisture it provides. I can usually skip my morning moisturizer when using this. I also did mention that this was heavy for my oily skin, but once I stopped using a moisturizer under this then it wasn’t too heavy anymore. I still don’t really enjoy the sweet vanilla scent that this has but if you guys like sweet smelling things then this is perfect for you. This also hasn’t made me breakout or irritate my skin which is great. Overall, this is a great physical sunscreen that I really enjoyed using. Would I repurchase though? Maybe...since it hasn’t really replaced my current favorites. Have you guys tried this or anything from kinship? If not, then I think you should because they’re an awesome brand! 🕷🕯Friday the 13th & feelin cute!🕯🕷
I try not to be superstitious about a day or a number, but I still find myself thinking about it🤔 🍂It’s really feeling like Fall! Had the first snow of the season the other day, but now it’s just raining a lot🌧 Before I took better care of my skin, I rarely took selfies without makeup on, I just didn’t feel cute. Now I feel cute with a glowing face full of skincare & have kinda ditched makeup (which personally, also helped my skin tremendously!) I felt extra cute today & just wanted to chill & get cozy, but we have guests right now, so I decided to throw on my fav mascara & gloss for fun. ➡️ Everything on my skin, lashes & lips is in the next photo. GIVENCHY - Phenomen’eyes Mascara Is my ultimate favorite mascara! I truly miss the brown shade this used to come in, but that’s just me, loved it for my lashes (& brows when I was lazy) The brown shade was not great for every look, but it was so soft & natural looking. This black shade is your basic, classic black, I’m just so in love with the formula & applicator. 🏰The comb reminds me of that medieval spikey ball weapon thing. Love it. It makes it super easy for me to control where I’m applying, & keep it light, feathery & clump-free (my personal preference for an everyday mascara look) I love how i can just sort of “kiss” my lashes with this product, especially the bottom line, so effectively. ✔️You can definitely get a more dramatic effect with this mascara if that’s what you’re going for! 🖤The thing I love most is how the formula really holds my curl throughout the day! My tricks for lashes is start with a great curler. This will be different for everyone, because we all have different eye shapes. My eyes are not deep set at all. My lashes aren’t particularly long, but my lashes sometimes graze the inside of sunglasses for instance... My perfect eyelash curler has a less pronounced curve than most standard American market curlers, which helps get me the perfect curl with no pinching at all! 🛍I also use a FREE spoolie (yes I’m that bitch at Sephora) to comb out any clumps. SHISEIDO - Shiseido Eyelash Curler I also always have these on hand, so I’m never with a cracked/split one, save your eyes from injury & hidden bacteria: SHISEIDO - SHISEIDO Eyelash Curler Pad I wish Sephora carried these! They’re only $6/2 pack-but annoying/wasteful to buy without free shipping-unless I buy tons lol. *i always curl BEFORE mascara! As the mascara is kinda drying I use clean fingers to sort of push them up to curl a bit more & have it hold! ⚠️You may be tempted to use a curler at some point AFTER mascara. Though I did it 1,000x without incident, the one time I pulled out over half my top line was it for me! Proceed with caution. DIOR - Lip Glow Oil So moisturizing & not sticky! Lips look alive & plump!💕 NEST FRAGRANCES - Bamboo Candle 🕯Jasmine/Amber vibes, warm, perfect for Fall🍂

Healed in under 1 week! How I prevented scarring
🐺So I have a 9 month old Siberian Husky, he’s got way too much energy for me sometimes. He totally booped me in the eye with his teeth & basically bit my eyelid. I was honestly so f***ing worried, eye skin is so sensitive & my skin scar easily, even from bruising. So how did I get this back to normal in 6 days? First things first... Regularly applying (yup, multiple times a day) SUNSCREEN will help prevent hyperpigmentation. ☀️When you get a cut or bruise, even a baby one, your skin barrier has been compromised. Even the healthiest skin barrier will not protect you from UV rays whatsoever & any new skin growing after an abrasion is extremely susceptible to UV damage, regardless of your skin tone! I’m super pale, but even with skin that doesn’t burn easily, newly generated skin tissue will become darker if you don’t use an SPF to protect it. I included a pic of a scratch I got from my dog several months ago, where I totally didn’t protect it from the sun. I can be lazy about body sunscreen & this proved to me that almost any broken skin will scar if it gets sun. I used: KINSHIP - Self Reflect Probiotic Moisturzing Sunscreen Zinc Oxide SPF 32 But honestly any sunscreen you like with a decent SPF is key for scar prevention. Reapply & reapply! I love this formula because it’s so moisturizing! Full review in a previous post. Keeping your skin hydrated & moisturized is super important too, you want to give your skin nourishment while it heals. Which brings me to the second most important thing. 🐌A repair serum: Beauty of Joseon - Repair Serum : Ginseng+Snail Mucin I have fully fallen in love with Snail Mucin after this serum! Because Snail Mucin is a stress-induced excretion, it's comprised of ingredients meant to repair or protect from injury. These include growth factors, which work by triggering the growth of new skin cells & new collagen. This particular serum is really affordable-$17. It contains over 3% Snail Mucin & it’s over 63% Ginseng extract, also amazing for skin repair & evening tone. Allantoin is another component in the secretion; healing properties, calms irritation & stimulates cell regeneration Also fragrance/alcohol free! Sulwhasoo - First Care Activating Serum Limited Edition This is also packed with Ginseng & other reparative botanical extracts. This really helps me retain moisture in my skin, I use it 2x a day & have noticed generally brighter & clearer skin in the last few months. You use this after cleansing or toning, before other serums. TATCHA - The Silk Peony Melting Eye Cream After a couple days I added this. ETUDE - SoonJung 2x Barrier Intensive Cream Great for sensitive skin & has vitamin E. I alternated between this &: TATCHA - The Dewy Skin Cream Also used this: Beauty of Joseon - Glow Serum : Propolis+Niacinamide Almost 60% Propolis + 2% Niacinamide

Battle of the Mineral SPF
Battle of the Mineral SPF
When revamping my skin care routine, I made a point to look for a mineral SPF that could serve double duty as my morning moisturizer post-vitamin C serum. I narrowed my search to these two as they both promised lightweight hydration, no cast, sensitive-skin friendly botanicals, and non-nano Zinc Oxide protection. ☀️VERSED - Guards Up Daily Mineral Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 35 I purchased this one first given its lower price point. Unfortunately it pilled both over my serum and over clean dry skin. When trying to rub it into damp skin, it stung. I even have a hard time using it as a body sunscreen because it pills so badly. On top of all that, it was not hydrating enough to serve as my morning moisturizer. Only redeeming things were the lack of cast and their customer service. 🌈KINSHIP - Self Reflect Probiotic Moisturzing Sunscreen Zinc Oxide SPF 32 Following my experience with Versed, my expectations for this were low—but Kinship knocked it out of the park! No cast, glowy finish (without being oily), no pilling, and actually hydrating. Right now my skin is super dry and sensitive from a bout of over-cleansing, and this really is so gentle on my damaged skin. Plus- no breakouts! Only possible con is it’s very sweet smelling, but I adjusted to it within a week.

Today I am sharing dear, klairs - Mid Day Blue UV Shield sunscreen. Right of the bat the smell of this sunscreen WOWed me. It is a pleasing smell that it kinda of reminds a mix of chamomile and green tea. Not all sunscreens suit all skin types. When looking for a sunscreen or any skin products I always look at the ingredients that best suit my acne prone/sensitive skin. This sunscreen in particular caught my eye because of guaiazulene. This ingredient source comes from chamomile (azulene) a great ingredient to soothe irritated skin. With a SPF 50++++ protects skin from UVA & UVB. It is a very lightweight formula and it’s texture is almost velvet like; because of guaiazulene when applied it looks blue but, it absorbs fast into the skin. I also noticed that it brightness the skin giving you a radiant semi matte finish. I think this sunscreen is best for the summer because keeps control of your sebum all day. Great for: ☁️ oily, combination, acne prone & rosacea skin ☁️ redness & irritated skin Price: Retail - $23 But I got it for about $20. You can purchase this at wishtrend they are having a 10% sale ( NOT AN AD). Sharing is caring! *Just because we share the same skin type does not mean we will have the same reaction; just sharing a product I enjoyed using*

My Favorite Sunscreen ☀️
My Favorite Sunscreen ☀️
I have combination skin that is sensitive and acne-prone. I’m also someone who doesn’t like anything with a sticky feeling on my face! 🌱This is the Centella Green Level Unscented Sunscreen and it is gorgeous. ✨First of all, it passes the Not Sticky test and doesn’t leave a white cast at all. It’s basically another hydrating moisturizer for your face in the way it applies and interacts with the skin. For this reason, reapplying doesn’t feel gross or heavy and this is one of the few sunscreens I actually enjoy reapplying throughout the day which is so important! ✨This has Hyaluronic Acid in it as well as Centella to enhance the skin barrier which provides protection from ultraviolet rays and any external stressors. It also avoids things like fragrance and essential oils so it is good for sensitive skin. ✨This is $16 for 2 oz which in my opinion is great for what you’re getting. What’s your favorite sunscreen? 🌞

Is your spf reef safe?! 🌊🐋
Is your spf reef safe?! 🌊🐋
I used to think that every sunscreen was made the same and had the same ingredients, until I began to research them and found out some are bad for the oceans and reefs. I used to love to wear neutrogena ultra dry touch sunscreens but it has oxybenzone ☹️. I stopped wearing it and have told all my friends and family about this. Sunscreens that includes the active ingredients of oxybenzone and octinoxate have been linked to coral bleaching. Oxybenzone can also cause irritation and acne to sensitive skin. Some mineral spfs have nanotized particles (they’re about smaller than 100 nanometers). If they’re that small they can attach to coral reefs and contribute to more bleaching and changing the dna thus killing them. If the spf has non nano particles they’re slightly bigger than 100 nanometers meaning they won’t stick to them and just sink becoming ocean sediments. I’ve been looking for spf that says “reef safe formula” always make sure you read the ingredients as well and make sure it doesn’t have oxybenzone or octinoxate. Instead look for ingredients such as zinc oxide and titanium oxide. Some great brands to try out are: Biossance sheer mineral sunscreen spf 30 Ren clean skincare mattifying sunscreen spf 30 First aid beauty weightless liquid mineral spf 30 Beautycounter countersun mineral lotion spf 30 Coola mineral sun silk creme spf 30 Sun bum face lotion spf 50 The honest co. NEW Cocokind SPF Review 🌞
NEW Cocokind SPF Review 🌞
NEW Cocokind SPF* has arrived! 😍 *gifted by brand • SPF 32 Zinc Oxide Sunscreen • Protects against UVA, UVB, blue light and pollution damage. •$24 for 1.7 oz, current available at cocokind.com What I think! I tried this in my latest YouTube video and have continued to test it out. • starts off like most mineral sunscreens with a strong white tint, after rubbing it in white cast does dissipate. • feels moisturizing and dewy but not too much, I have oily skin in the summer and still enjoy this. • works BEAUTIFULLY under makeup and doesn’t feel heavy 👍 • no scent and gentle ingredients. • perfect for sensitive skin, or if you’re allergic to chemical spfs (like me). It does have some heavier ingredients/oils so if your trying to avoid those I would opt for something lighter.

My SPF collection - 2 Faves and a Fail
My SPF collection - 2 Faves and a Fail
I admit to not being diligent with SPF until 2019. Even then, at my best I would apply maybe 4-5 days per week. SPF is very, very important! I’m happy to report in 2020 I have applied every single day. I currently have 3 facial SPFs (all cruelty-free) in my collection. Keep reading for my thoughts on them! Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 is a cult favorite for a reason. It’s a chemical sunscreen that is oil-free, unscented, reef-safe, and vegan. It has a silicone-y texture that feels light on my skin, and doubles as a great primer for makeup on a busy morning. It protects my face well. It is SPF 40 and contains meadow foam seed (helps add a bit of hydration), red algae (blue light protection), and frankincense (soothing). This SPF is good for all skin types. It retails for $34 (worth it!) and can be found at multiple beauty retailers such as Sephora. PURITO - Centella Green Level Unscented Sun SPF50+ is also a chemical SPF. It offers SPF 50 and is essential oil-free. PURITO also offers this SPF with essential oils, if you prefer. Personally I prefer unscented when possible because there’s less chance for skin irritation. This creamy SPF blends nicely into my skin, feels moisturizing, protects well, and does not cause any breakouts. Ingredient highlights include niacinamide and centella asciatica (cica) to protect your skin barrier and calm redness. This one is my favorite because of its moisturizing properties on my dry skin. Dry and normal skin would like this a lot. I’d caution oily skin friends in warmer climates, as it could possibly feel heavy. PURITO offers a few different SPFs, though. It is available from various beauty retailers and on Amazon, pretty much always for under $20! BARE REPUBLIC - Mineral Face Sunscreen Gel Lotion SPF 30 is my least favorite of the bunch. This is a mineral SPF with a gel-lotion texture. It offers SPF 30 and its main ingredient is zinc oxide. It has a creamy, slightly blue-tinted texture that smells...a bit off to me. It does contain cucumber, which I usually like, but the scent just doesn’t appeal to me. I find it to be difficult to blend into my face without leaving white streaks behind. I also feel that this product dries out my skin, despite it also containing Shea butter. It tends to pill on top of certain moisturizers (like gels, oddly), which can make applying it even more unappealing. It does at least protect my face, hence 2 stars. I received this item complimentary through Influenster, and would not recommend it or repurchase. I’m not even sure I’ll finish the tube... It retails for $16.99 and is available at various beauty retailers (like Target) and drugstores.
