July 2020 Empties
Here are the products I’ve finished in the month of July. I have a small review about each product down below along with an emoji indicating whether I plan to repurchase or not. If you guys have any additional questions about any of the products, feel free to ask them in the comments. 👍 - will repurchase 🤔 - liked but not sure about repurchasing 👎 - won’t repurchase ▶️ KEEP COOL - Soothe lotion - lightweight emulsion type moisturizer that performs like a creamy serum to keep the skin adequately moisturized and hydrated. 👍 ▶️ ISNtree - Hyaluronic Acid Aqua Gel Cream - gel cream moisturizer formulated with 5 different types of hyaluronic acid to deeply hydrate the skin. One of the best gel cream I’ve ever tried. 👍 ▶️ ISNtree - Hyaluronic Acid Toner - slightly viscous toner with 3 different types of hyaluronic acid to hydrate and balance the skin. Basic no frills toner that plumps the skin. 🤔 ▶️ ISNtree - C-Niacin Toning Ampoule - skin brightening treatment that uses 69% sea buckthorn fruit extracts and 2% niacinamide. Great alternative for those who can’t tolerate traditional vitamin c serums. 🤔 ▶️ Beauty of Joseon - Calming Serum : Green Tea + Panthenol -lightweight serum that uses 76.49% green tea leaf water and 2% panthenol to hydrate and the soothe the skin. Performed really well for my skin by reducing redness and irritations. 👍 ▶️ @nichebeautylab purifying gel cleanser* - daily treatment gel cleanser that helps to regulate skin oiliness, reduce sebum production, and cleanse pores. Contains salicylic acid and willow bark extract. Wasn’t drying on the skin. 🤔 ▶️ íUNIK - Black Snail Restore Serum - snail mucin based serum that claims to help with skin brightening, skin soothing, reduction of signs of premature aging, and increased cell regeneration. Lackluster results for my liking. Essentially just a good hydrating serum. 🤔 ▶️ TROIAREUKE - AGT Hydro Essence Moisturizing Gel - viscous gel type essence that’s adheres very well to skin to condition and provide hydration. Didn’t work out well for me. Caused itching and irritations after prolonged use. 👎 ▶️ TROIAREUKE - Acsen UV Protector Essence -my top favorite sunscreen for oily skin types. Can’t recommend much since it’s kinda pricy. I’ve posted a full review of this already so feel free to check it out. 👍 ▶️ THE inkey LIST - Oat Cleansing Balm - affordable cleansing balm with colloidal oats and oat kernel oil to provide a nourishing and thorough cleanse to remove oil based impurities. It just works. 👍 ▶️ Dr.Althea - Resveratrol 345NA_Intensive Repair Cream repairitive cream with a gel cream like texture. Contains resveratrol and a ton of botanicals to help nourish, brighten, soothe, and heal the skin. 👍 ▶️ I'm from - Mugwort Essence - essence containing 100% fermented korean mugwort to hydrating and soothe inflamed, sensitive, and reactive skin. Skin benefits are shown gradually overtime with consistent use. 👍 ▶️ LANEIGE - Eye Sleeping Mask - watery gel sleeping mask to keep the under eye area hydrated and plump overnight. A nice but unnecessary product. Didn’t really do much for eye area. Too fragranced for my liking. 👎 ▶️ NEOGENLAB - Real Fresh Cleansing Stick Green Tea - two in one cleanser in a stick form that can easily cleanse the skin of both oil and water based impurities. Doesn’t strip the skin. Contains green tea and 13 botanical oils. 🤔 ▶️ THE inkey LIST - Retinol Serum - a gentle retinol serum containing retistar which is a combination of multiple actives. Helped with controlling my acne breakouts. Didn’t irritate or dry my skin out. 🤔 ▶️ KEEP COOL - Soothe Bamboo Sun Essence SPF50+ - lightweight sun essence that contains 40% bamboo water to keep the skin hydrated and soothed. Became a favorite of mines fairly quick. Already repurchased. 👍 ▶️ TROIAREUKE - Skin Complex Formula Facial Toner Spray - lightweight watery toner mist that contains a ton of botanicals to provide strong antioxidant benefits to the skin. Not sure it did much for me other than kept my skin hydrated. Didn’t irritate or break me out. 🤔
Not your typical eye mask 😴
Versed is a relatively new brand at Target that has been on my radar. Last time I went I was amazed by the beautiful packaging but also a little bit overwhelmed by the selection they had. I decided my first Versed product was going to be the VERSED - THE FIX Emergency Eye Mask When I think eye mask I usually think under eye pads of some sort but this is actually a standard mask for your under eyes. It has provitamin B5, Vitamin E, cucumber juice (to cool and de puff), and caffeine (to perk up the area and help with redness). Versed claims this mask will hydrate and nourish the delicate under eye area. I think the most unique thing about this mask is it’s consistency. This may sound weird but it feels like you’re slathering glue your eyes. It has a thicker consistency. I usually do a thick layer and let it sit until I’m ready to take it off. You do immediately get a cooling affect under the eyes which is also surprisingly pleasant. I didn’t find that this sensation irritated my skin at all. I was really curious if this was the cucumber juice and upon inspection if the ingredients that was the only one I could find that would give the cooling sensation. I was actually really happy looking at the ingredients in general because they looked pretty solid. With the consistency of the product you wouldn’t think it would absorb well but it actually does!! When I’m ready to take it off I wet a wash cloth and I gently wipe away the excess. I would say normally 80% of the product is absorbed when I’m ready to take it off. My under eyes ALWAYS feel super smooth and hydrated afterwards. I can 100% see and feel a noticeable difference. You would think with it’s sticky consistency it would be a pain but it’s actually really pleasant to use and yields results to its claims. I would completely recommend this to anyone wanting to try Versed. I definitely want to try more from this brand in the future. If you have any recommendations please let me know! 🖤

Laneige Eye Sleeping Mask
LANEIGE - Eye Sleeping Mask What it is: a leave-on overnight eye mask What it does: hydrated and depuffs while you sleep Cost: $44 CAD for 25ml/0.8oz Texture: kind of like a lightweight serum My experience: I fell in love with this eye mask instantly. The texture is kind of like a lightweight serum and it goes on a bit watery and then becomes slightly sticky after it hits your skin. The applicator made it really easy to apply though and it was quite relaxing to roll it around and massage my eye area before bed. I always wake up with my eye area feeling more refreshed and hydrated when I massage the product in than simply using their eye gel alone. The product always nicely absorbs into my skin. I keep the mask and the applicator in the fridge like I do with my eye gel so that when you begin gently massaging the product in, you can depuff and cool your skin at the same time. 🤩 Would I recommend: yes! It’s a great depuffing and hydrating sleeping mask that helps keep your delicate eye area refreshed and moisturized while you get your beauty sleep. Would definitely recommend checking this out if your eye area needs that extra oomph of hydration and care. Is it worth it: yes, I think it’s worth it! You don’t need to use a ton of product so this lasts you a while. I also think that the applicator that it comes with to roll the product around and give yourself a little massage while you apply the mask is a really great relaxing and cooling part of your routine and that experience is definitely worth it for me! I always want to be enjoying the process and experience of using a product in order for it to be worth it and so this is definitely a repurchase in my books! 🙌🏻💓

Aye, do you like moisturized lips?
BURT’S BEES - Moisturizing Single-Use Lip Mask It’s lip mask saturated in a mix of good oils. As soon as I saw it I thought “wouldn’t I be able to get the same bring it just applying the oils directly on my lips?” But it surprised me, my lips felt fat more moisturized than any oil/oil mix would be able to moisturize them alone. The mask itself proves to be a key player in this, because of how deeply saturated it is, the mask allows your lips ample time to absorb the oils without spreading and eventually dispersing with the oils naturally found in your face (which happens to me a lot due to my combo skin) I took out a star because I found the packaging to be a little disappointing, the mask was just folded up inside, wish they would figure some way to keep it in a better condition while it’s inside waiting for you to use it!

ByNature Collagen Shot Lace Mask
I love doing hydrating sheet masks, I try to do one at least twice a week. I’m always on the hunt for new masks I’ve never tried, and that’s when I came across this mask from Bynature at Walmart. It’s a brand from New Zeland, called Collagen Shot mask with Hyaluronic acid, Vitamin E, Aloe, & Co Enzyme Q10 and 99% natural. I was interested by the ingredients which is why I bought it but had no idea it was a lace mask until I opened it. I felt so fancy wearing it, it was very soothing, Hydrating and lots of extra serum which I love. I also bought another that I also really liked.
Battle of the sleeping masks: COSRX or Missha?
I’ll start off by saying I think a “sleeping mask” is such extra rebranding of moisturizer lmao... because that’s literally all it is. 🤣 but nonetheless I still like a good “sleeping mask” because A) sometimes I’ll use the Cerave AM moisturizer with SPF during the day and obvi don’t need SPF overnight B) if I use 2 separate moisturizers AM and PM, they’ll both last longer 🤗 C) I like to use a more lightweight moisturizer during the day and a thicker more occlusive one at night. D) I can never have too many moisturizers bc I am a DRY girly! I tried the COSRX - Ultimate Nourishing Rice Overnight Spa Mask before and liked it a lot! It’s definitely very lightweight but I didn’t think it felt any different than any other moisturizer. I’ve been using the MISSHA - Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Sleeping Mask since March and love it! It’s thicker and definitely very hydrating. I think when I run out of the Missha, I may either try the dear, klairs - Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Maskor repurchase the COSRX, just because I am eager to try the Klairs one and I like the price point of Cosrx, like that it has niacinamide and already know I like the texture! What are your thoughts on sleeping masks, is it part of your routine or just too extra? 😂😂

Sheet Mask Saturday with By Terry 🌹
Yes I know it’s Sunday, I was too sleepy and forgot to post this here yesterday 😂 I started work at 6 am today, sometimes life just gets a little crazy too. 😊 Happy Sheet Mask Saturday! In today’s edition, I want to introduce the Baume de Rose Hydrating Sheet Mask by By Terry. This little beauty caught my eye at Niche Beauty in Sherwood Park and I just had to have it! This is a gel sheet mask infused with real rose petals and rose extracts, and is meant to hug every contour of your face for the perfect fit. It has a special texture to ensure that all the goodness in this mask is absorbed deeply into the skin. That goodness being vitamin E, rose hip oil, glycerin, and butylene glycol (which at the same time can also create a barrier to prevent moisture loss). When I removed the mask from the packaging, it came in 2 sections. I struggled to separate the mask from the paper it was held onto because it’s slippery and I’ve never used a gel mask before. 😂 But I managed to get the mask on my face and oh la la. It is probably the one mask that fits my face the best so far, and it stays on. It has a nice and light rose scent, and I love the idea of the rose petals speckled throughout the mask. Do note that it does contain synthetic fragrance about 2/3 of the way down the list, just in case you are sensitive to it. 🙂 I was quite honestly sad when I had to remove this beauty, but my skin is so soft and glowy after patting in the excess serum! This mask retails for $22 on their website, so it’s most definitely a treat and not a staple in my routine. Will I still repurchase it again anyway? You bet I will. Drop a 🌹 in the comments if you want to try this mask! BY TERRY - Baume de Rose Hydrating Sheet Mask
