Thoughts on this SPF
I’ve been using the PAULA'S CHOICE - YOUTH-EXTENDING DAILY HYDRATING FLUID SPF 50 for a couple weeks now so let’s share some thoughts. This is a broad spectrum sunscreen that uses chemical filters such as 2% avobenzone, 7.5% octinoxate, 5% octisalate, and 2% octocrylene to protect your skin from UVA and UVB radiation. Other notable ingredients in the formula include glycerin, dimethicone, vitamin e, and a ton of botanical extracts for soothing and antioxidant benefits. This has a lightweight fluid milk texture that effortlessly sinks into the skin leaving a matte finish. So, I knew exactly what I was getting myself into when I purchased this product. It promised to be a lightweight sunscreen that offers hydration, moisture, anti-aging benefits, non-greasiness, and a matte finish all without any synthetic fragrance or essential oils. Everything looked great on paper and for the most part, I loved how this performed on my skin because it definitely was hydrating and matte without leaving me looking greasy by the end of the day. But there are a couple things that I didn’t like about this product. The first is that after application, my skin began to sting which then turned into more of a burning sensation. This sensation disappeared after 2-3 minutes which isn’t long but felt very uncomfortable and concerning. I assumed this was caused by either the octocrylene or one of the botanical extracts. My skin usually doesn’t react to most chemical filters but I have had this sensation before when using other sunscreens with octocrylene in it. The second was that this ended up breaking me out. I didn’t expect it to be the sunscreen at first but I used this alone for a couple of days and this indeed caused me to breakout unfortunately which is a shame because it performed really well for my skin in all other aspects. Overall, it’s still a great sunscreen but I won’t be repurchasing as the negatives out weighed the positives for me. I had high hopes for this after all the good things I heard about it but it just didn’t work out for my skin. Have you guys tried this? If so, did you have a similar experience as me or was yours better? Rating: 3/5🌟 #CherieCreator #PaulasChoice

Ceramides - your skin barriers best friend
Ceramides - your skin barriers best friend
I’m a huge sucker for anything with ceramides in them. It’s such a great skin fortifying ingredient that I can’t get enough of. One of the latest product additions to my routine is THE inkey LIST - Ceramide Hydrating Night Treatment . This is an overnight treatment that contains a multi ceramide complex 3% and multi molecular hyaluronic acid 2.5% along with squalane, sodium pca, cholesterol, and a variety of amino acids. These all work in synergy to help protect and rehydrate the skin by forming a protective barrier to prevent moisture lost. This has a slightly thick and sticky cream-ish texture that takes a bit of experimenting to be fully incorporated into a routine. Once fully absorbed, it leaves a bit of a tacky finish. Since this is considered a treatment product, I use it during serum step after my watery serums, if I’m using any that night, right before my moisturizer. So the first time I used this, I experienced massive pilling. I had to do some guesswork and experiment with what I was using before and after this product. What I found worked best for me was using minimal products before applying this, and applying it on slightly damp skin. Applying it on slightly damp skin helped me spread it all over my face easier, and I noticed it also helped the product absorb much quicker. I really liked this product after I figured out how to utilize it. I’ve used this every night for the past 3 weeks now, and especially on exfoliation nights to help rebuild my skin barrier. Since then, my skin has definitely felt stronger and looks more nourished. I didn’t experience any irritations or breakouts while using this as well. Overall, this is a great product to have in an evening routine once you’ve figured out how to utilize it within your own routine. After that, you can expect a stronger skin barrier over time. The inkey list really impressed me with this one. Have you guys tried this yet? If so, any thoughts on it? Rating: 4/5🌟 #CherieCreator #TheInkeyList

Overnight soothing mask!
Overnight soothing mask!
Have you ever fallen in love with a product at first use? For me, it was the LANEIGE - Cica Sleeping Mask This is an overnight replenishing mask that delivers intense moisture to help soothe redness and strengthen the skin barrier for healthier, less irritated skin. This contains Laneige’s own forest yeast that’s basically fermented and refined black yeast that was separated from green penny fern found growing in Jeju. This is supposed to provide an even stronger soothing and strengthening effect on the skin than traditional cica products that just contains only madecassocide. Other notable ingredients include squalane, glycerin, panthenol, shea butter, asiaticoside, madecassic acid, asiatic acid, tea tree leaf oil, and vitamin e. This has a luxuriously thick and rich emollient creamy texture that just envelopes the skin like a warm embrace. I find that this doesn’t absorb fully so it creates a lovely moisturizing barrier that’s not greasy to help prevent water loss during the night. I love using this when my skin freaks out from over exfoliation or when it’s just irritated and red. My skin always looks calmer, less red, and feels moisturized the following morning. It’s like my little magical quick fix overnight mask. Something worth mentioning is that this does contain cymbopogon martini oil which is an aromatic oil that gives this product a very faint herbal scent. It hasn’t irritated my skin or cause me to breakout but it’s worth mentioning if you’re very sensitive to aromatics. Overall, this is a fantastic overnight sleeping mask for those with dry and sensitive skin. You’ll love the results it provides to your skin the following morning. I much prefer this one over their water sleeping mask so I definitely plan on repurchasing this again in the future. Have you guys tried this yet? If so, any thoughts on it? Niacinamide - Oily Skin Lifesaver
Niacinamide - Oily Skin Lifesaver
Niacinamide is one of my all time favorite ingredients. It’s an oily skin life saver that regulates excess sebum, helps reduce blemishes and redness, and brightens the skin. THEINKEYLIST - Niacinamide Oil Control Serum niacinamide serum does just that with it’s formula that contains key active ingredients such as 10% niacinamide, multi molecular hyaluronic acid 1%, glycerin, squalane, radish root ferment filtrate, allantoin, and panthenol. ⁣ ⁣ This has an opaque lightweight gel texture that easily absorbs into the skin leaving a slight tackiness. Once something else is layered over this, that tackiness disappears. I was expecting this to work like any other typical niacinamide serum but this was surprisingly more hydrating than others that I’ve tried. My skin loved this as this serum kept my skin looking smooth, plump, even toned, less red, poreless, and less like a grease ball by the end of the day. Fortunately, I didn’t experience any pilling, and it layers well under and over all the products in my routine. I also didn’t experience any stinging or irritations while using this even with the high percentage of niacinamide. The only con I noticed with this product was the packaging. Unfortunately, the product tends to build up and crystallize around the flip cap. I wish this came in a pump but just remember to clear the build up once in a while and you’re good to go. ⁣ ⁣ Overall, this is a great product that has made it’s way into my top favorite niacinamide serums. I highly recommend this for those with oily dehydrated skin as it’ll quench that thirst while also keeping your sebum production at bay. I will definitely have to repurchase this again.
