I have learnt a lot over the past few months since joining cherie and am taking my skin more seriously now that I’m 30. I learnt my skin barrier had seriously been compromised, and I may actually not be as sensitive as I thought. I learnt that my skin most likely isn’t dry but actually dehydrated!! What a learning curve that was! Always, ALWAYS, research the best way to use products before using them. Search the product you are interested in on this app and go through the reviews and see what has worked and what hasn’t. Saves you a lot of trial and error! And disappointment! Always start slow with a new product! Go once a week for two weeks and then build up by adding one more day each week. This helps your skin adjust and figure out what works for you. If you flick through the photos above, you will see before and after photos of both sides of my face. Although it looks better, I still have a fair way to go. My routine as of October 13, 2020: MORNING I don’t use a cleanser to wash my face, I wash with water and then follow with The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5
I apply this directly to my wet face after rinsing it. I continue massaging until I feel my skin is getting dry but still slightly damp. While my face is still slightly damp I apply SEPHORA COLLECTION - Brightening Eye Cream – Hydrate & Depuff
and The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA
and then wait about 5 minutes before applying PAULA'S CHOICE - Calm Mineral Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30
NIGHT I have, in the last week, jumped back onto the double cleanse bandwagon as it is getting warmer in the Southern Hemisphere now and I tend to get hot and sweaty-ish (especially when running around after a toddler all day). I use The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser
massage this is for a few minutes, when I feel it start to loosen up I add in water and rinse it off. If my skin is feeling particularly dehydrated I skip the first cleanse and go straight to CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin
Again, I leave my face wet and massage in The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5
while my skin is still slightly damp I put on SEPHORA COLLECTION - Brightening Eye Cream – Hydrate & Depuff
and PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Azelaic Acid Booster
This has really helped calm down my irritated skin and helped smooth out some bumps. I then pat on about 6 drops of The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Squalane
and after 5 minutes apply The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA
I am looking to add in a vitamin c product. I might be slightly sensitive to vitamin c, so please recommend products that are low in concentration and good for sensitive skin 😘😘

Product Mentioned
why YOU should be using AZELAIC ACID
azelaic acid is a super amazing ingredient in skincare ! it aids in: even skin tone target stubborn spots soothes irritation & redness PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Azelaic Acid Booster 🍃key ingredients 🍃 azelaic acid (skin brightening, texture improving) glycerin (skin replenishing) salicylic acid (exfoliant) licorice root extract (skin soothing) I really really love this product!! it claims to do what is listed above, and I must say that it does this. I use this every night in my routine. it is a cream texture which I was surprised with at first because I had previously used the NATURIUM - Azelaic Topical Acid 10% which is a serum formula. before using this product, when I would pop my pimples...(I know I know, but we have all been there right?!), I would wake up with a huge scar on my face with redness everywhere! NOW, (for the occasional time that I do get pimples and pop them), the redness fades very soon after and I wake up looking like I never had a pimple there in the first place! my jawline tends to be prone to texture & pimples, and I believe that this product is a key reason as to why I don’t get many bumps or pimples there anymore!! I swear by this product and will definitely be trying to repurchase it in the future if my budget allows me to haha. PAULA’S CHOICE: 1oz for $36

Textured skin, bumps not going away!
I have sensitive combination skin so I’m very aware of which products I put on my face. I struggle with fungal acne properly known as malassezia folliculitis and they’re a result of an overgrowth of yeast. I never wear makeup but I’m so embarrassed by it!!! The current products I’m using are: HERBIVORE - Jasmine Green Tea Oil Control Toner PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Gel Exfoliant The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Squalane For AM and PM. These products work as they’re controlling fungal acne but it’s not clearing it. My biggest skin concern is blackheads, texture and dullness. Any recommendations?

Acne Help
Hi there, the first two pictures are images of my acne from January 2020 (after doing my skincare routine) and the other photos are from October 2020 (before doing any skincare in the morning) and showcase my skin in direct sunlight and just in a normal light setting. My skin has gotten much better since January due to the products I have been using, however, I am looking for cheaper alternatives for the current products I am using because I don’t think I will be able to keep purchasing them (all together I believe they are around $200). As you can see, my skin back in January was dry and had acne (what type I am still uncertain) and now I have less acne (although I still get pustules and large red bumps frequently all over my face - this is just a time where it has lessened) but my skin appears to be very oily and shiny and red. If any of you have any recommendations I would be very welcome to them! I have sensitive skin, which used to be combination as well, although I am not sure if I now have oily skin. Here are the products I currently use morning and night (in this order): NEOSTRATA - Mandelic Clarifying Cleanser NEOSTRATA - Acne Clarifying Solution reversa - Hydra-Minéral Concentrate VICHY - Aqualia Thermal Water Gel Face Moisturizer with Hyaluronic Acid SEPHORA COLLECTION - Brightening Eye Cream – Hydrate & Depuff I also use a foreo with my cleanser

“Build Me Up Buttercup”
My skincare journey has been rough the past few years (check first post made for details but basically I have sensitive, reactive skin) and I have finally found something that works thanks to this app and all the wonderful people on here. I have done lots of reading and learning!! I am wanting to extend my routine; add an eye cream for dark circles in the AM and maybe a vitamin c - am looking at The Ordinary - Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate 10%as I have had bad experiences with vitamin c previously and want to go slow. And maybe THE inkey LIST - Polyhydroxy Acid (PHA) Gentle Exfoliating Toner I have noticed that my face doesn’t like niacinamide either. Both CeraVe AM and PM creams contain this and my skin reacted, as well as with another brand I used that contained it. Please help, any and all suggestions/helpful hints welcome 😊 This is my current routine. I have reviewed these products in previous posts. AM CLEANSE: Water SERUM: The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 makes the skin feel so soft and supple. A great base! EYE CREAM: SEPHORA COLLECTION - Brightening Eye Cream – Hydrate & Depuff I have come back to this after a long and painful journey with eye creams. Great for hydration and fine lines but would still like an eye cream to use in the AM that helps with dark circles. MOISTURISE: The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA have just recently started using this as my DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lala Retro Whipped Cream is finished. Loving it so far. Not as heavy as the DE cream but perfect for going into the warmer months ahead. SUNSCREEN: PAULA'S CHOICE - Calm Mineral Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 this has really helped with reducing the redness i get on my cheeks. PM CLEANSE: CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin feels so great and leaves the skin feeling hydrated well after use! Previous cleansers always left me feeling tight immediately after use. I can now wash my face at the beginning of a shower and it stays hydrated till I get out (although I still prefer as my last step) EYE CREAM: SEPHORA COLLECTION - Brightening Eye Cream – Hydrate & Depuff MOISTURISE: The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA SEAL THE DEAL: The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Squalane I was using this before the DE cream and have recently learned that it is meant to go last to seal everything in. I use about 4-5 drops and pat it across my face. Twice a week (Sun & Wed), after the eye cream, I use The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 and then PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Azelaic Acid Booster I am finding that it has helped reduce the redness across my cheeks. It has only been 2 weeks of using this so too early to review this product.

3 Paula Choice Skincare Routines ❄️☃️❄️
Hey guys!!! I love Paulas choice products especially the PAULA'S CHOICE - Omega+ Complex Moisturizer and PAULA'S CHOICE - 0.3% Retinol + 2% Bakuchiol Treatment !! Over on their IG they posted suggested skincare routines created by their client social services consultant Allie, I wanted to repost a few today for dry and dehydrated combo skin since it's cold outside which can often lead to dry/dehydrated skin. Paulas choice is another great brand to reach out to if you have questions!!! Just pick the products in black for an essential routine and include the products labeled in white for a full advanced routine. I do want to point out that there is NO perfect skincare routine, you need to listen to your skin. If you are feeling really dry you might want to add a heavier ceramide moisturizer or if your skin is starting to feel irritated back off on your exfoliation. Use these suggestions as a way to get started but still adjust or take away products by how your skin feels. Do you wish more companies would post suggested skincare routines based on skin type?? #cheriecreator

The Best Advice For Choosing Skincare Products
Hey Beauty’s 🙋🏽‍♀️ So I’ve recommended a lot of products and thought I’d share some advice on how how I select skincare products these days. ☺️ Thanks to @babesandbeauty on Instagram for the advice. Products that you consistently use I noticed that I consistently use TruSkin - Vitamin C Serum which has Vitamin C, hyaluronic acid and Vitamin E as my day Serum. I also have The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 for my night routine. I’ve started using Truskin’s Super Serum at night and now alternate between using a natural Retinol or Vitamin A Moisturiser and the Truskin Super Serum which has Vitamin C, Hyaluronic Acid, Niacinamide, and Retinol. I now can’t live without my FORMULA 10.0.6 - Rise of the Foam Blemish Busting Cleanser I use this because of the salicylic acid and hemp oil as part of my double cleansing routine. I’m currently trialing products for my first cleanse. 😄 I noticed the ingredients are ideal for my issues which are rough texture, larger than average pores, dullness and my wrinkles and fine lines. For reducing the appearance of my fine lines and wrinkles I ❤️ hyaluronic acid!!!! Products that are ideal for your skin type I’m a little lucky in the fact that I have combination skin and can use a range of products for my issues. Treating the wrong skin type can lead to irritated skin, breakouts and premature aging. Choosing the correct skin care routine for your skin type is essential for making your skin appear youthful and healthy. Products that do not cause irritation to your skin barrier Our skin is the largest barrier against infection that we have. Keeping our skin healthy and moist helps keep this barrier strong. Using the proper skin care products for your skin type can help preserve this important protective layer. ☺️ Products that fit your budget and life The Ordinary creators have totally changed how we think about and buy skin care. Its allowed us to understand ingredients and offered them in ridiculously cheap formulas. It’s championed transparency in an industry that wants you to think expensive products are better. Nothing costs more than $20. In fact, the majority of it ranges at less than $10. This is largely in part thanks to The Ordinary's dedication to transparency, resulting in prices that aren't significantly marked up. Although if you can afford to spend $150 I’d recommend purchasing a Serum rather than a cleanser or moisturiser. Drop me a line about what you consider when you purchase skincare products. Is it the beautiful packaging, ingredient list or that you just saw a review and want to try it. ☺️ Have a wonderful day or evening Jade 🥂

When hydration is needed 💦
I am a dry skinned girl so I am always on the look out for hydrators and moisturizers. This is especially the case as I like to use actives in my routine and they can further dry out my skin. Hyaluronic acid is one of my go to ingredients as it draws moisture into my skin and it works well with other ingredients. The ordinary offers this serum which is great as it is super affordable and it works well with my skin. What is it: This is a hyaluronic acid serum with 3 different weighted molecules so that it can penetrate and hydrate different layers if the skin. Hyaluronic acids is a humectant meaning it absorbs moisture from the air and draws it into the skin. This serum also has b5 which helps nourish and soften the skin. Texture: This is a goopy and cloudy serum that is easily absorbed into my dry skin. Price: This sells at Sephora for $6.80 cad for 1 oz or $12.20 cad for 2oz How I use this: I use this along with my steamer to make sure that the air is moisture rich in order to draw moisture to my skin. This ensures I get the best result. Pros 👍: affordable 2 sizes available accessible effective cruelty free 🐰 Cons 👎: some people don’t like the texture you shouldn’t over use hyaluronic acid (check other products) The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 this is a super simple serum that has really helped my dry skin

Week 1 of Tretinoin and Spironolactone
For 1 week, I’ve been taking spironolactone every morning and applying .025% tretinoin every other night. Starting today, I will apply tretinoin every night. Regarding the spironolactone, I haven’t been experiencing any serious side effects. So far, I’ve been peeing more often and every once in a while I would get cramps that are similar to period cramps (I’m expecting my period to come at the end of this month). Regarding the tretinoin, I’ve been experiencing lots of purging. So many pimples have surfaced. I’ve also had some dryness, especially around my mouth and nostrils. I recently started using the CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin every morning and it’s been good in taming my peeling skin. Let me know if you guys have any tips regarding tretinoin or spironolactone!

‼️PSA: CEREVE CREAM TO FOAM CLEANSER‼️
I had so much hope for this cleanser. It literally went into my hand looking like shampoo, foamed up and lathered beautifully. The experience was 12/10! However. My cheeks had the WORST reaction. My face has never felt this burnt, flaky and dehydrated ever. Only my cheeks and under my nose had a reaction, aka my dry areas. My oiler areas (t-zone) didnt react at all. I’m soooo sad. I’m currently using the cereve hydrating cleanser in the morning & inkey list SA cleanser in the evening. I do was my fave twice a day because if I don’t by skin doesn’t feel as soft and nourished. So, that’s why I went with a super gentle cleanser for morning. Maybe even needing to use the SA cleanser 2-3x/week. I’m looking for something gentle, but will get my sunscreen off. Any recommendations would be extremely appreciated 💗💗💗💗 CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin

Not worth the hype🙁
I grabbed the ordinary moisturizer at ultra beauty for $7. I was happy to know that it was affordable and on shelf’s. After applying this product on for the first time, I was kinda disappointed. The skin absorbs up the product quickly, leaving it dry fast. I noticed after a couple days, my skin started breaking out on my forehead and chin area. The one good thing that I liked about this product was how soft my skin felt afterwards. I also liked the fact that there is no scent to this moisturizer. I would lightly recommend this product to oily skin type, or to someone who is new to skin care. I will not be repurchasing.

thanks to all lovely beauties out there to take their time and add a comment on my last post. I was devastated by breakout, i was having from last 2-3 weeks and nothing seems to be working. Well i guess too many exfoliants was making my skin too sensitive so now i am back to basics. I have started what i was doing in the beginning and that seems to be working just fine. I think i was selfish to have a great skin in no time 🥴. If someone is just curious what i am doing right now then lets go to products. AM: The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser sukin - Pore Perfecting Toner Blemish Control it has tree oil which is good for acne prone skin The Ordinary - Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2% The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA LA ROCHE-POSAY - Anthelios XL Ultra-Light Fluid SPF 50+ as i have sensitive and oily skin this makes my face matte and oil free. I really like this one for oily skin or combination skin PM: The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser sukin - Pore Perfecting Toner Blemish Control The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% (only on spots and acne 2-3 times a week) The Ordinary - Mandelic Acid 10% + HA (once a week) The Ordinary - Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion (once a week) The Ordinary - Salicylic Acid 2% Masque (once a week) The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Hemi-Squalane tea tree oil only on spots Even if i have listed so many items i feel i have very basic skin care routine as most of the products are being used weekly or only 2-3 times a week. But in the end this routine is working out for me and i am seeing good progress which makes me happy. Again thanks to all who suggested me before ❤️❤️

🖤⭐️ Empties and Replacements ⭐️🖤
Hey, friends! Here are two more empties and their replacements! I got HERBIVORE - Bamboo Charcoal Detoxifying Soap Bar at the beginning of December because I was looking for a body soap that would help with my back acne. At first, I only used this bar on my back (shoulders) and chest because those are my most problematic spots. I started seeing results around 1 week after consistent use. On the days when I felt lazy and didn’t want to use two bar soaps I would use this one all over and I started to realize it was helping reduce the redness and bumps on my upper arms. I never knew what caused the bumps and redness but I know it runs in my family (my mom always told me it was eczema). But this bar soap seemed to help a lot, so I expanded and started using it all over my body. It’s really worked wonders and kept the acne away from my body. Very impressed with this product AND I feel less wasteful because it’s a bar soap and comes in a cardboard container (No Plastic!). The only bad thing I would say would be that it didn’t last me as long as I would have liked for the price, but I repurchased because I’m hoping to get rid of the redness on my arms completely! Next I have The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser which I’ve talked about before. Love this as a first wash during a double cleanse at night (removes all my makeup and keeps my skin feeling clean without stripping it). It’s super cheap and I love this brand however again the only problem would be that this small bottle doesn’t last very long (maybe lasted me a month) but the bigger bottle is all sold out everywhere I look! I guess a lot of people agree with me on this cleanser. Hopefully next replacement can be a bigger bottle! 🙏🏻 What products are you getting through quickly and repurchasing?? Let me know in the comments! 👂🏻✍🏻 Love to all! 🖤

Review My [AM] Routine!
Review My [AM] Routine!
I have super dry, reactive, eczema-prone skin! I amazingly somehow have large pores and dry skin (I know) and get barrier damage easily. My routine goes: 1. Wash my face with PETER THOMAS ROTH - Water Drench Cloud Cream Cleanser it is my FAVORITE cleanser ever and works SO well for my dry skin AM because it adds moisture to my skin before I even start with my products. Even after like the night before I tend to wake up with dry skin and this is such a huge help. I use a green tea or turmeric konjac sponge with it depending on my concern for the day (green tea when I’m feeling a little more broke out and turmeric when I’m extra dry) and pat my face with a bamboo washcloth. 2. Prep my skin for product with Kiehl's - Ultra Facial Toner this is more an essence than a toner, I probably won’t buy it again because I think there are better products with this function BUT it was not cheap so I’m using it all up before I buy anything else. 3. MY SAVIOR VICHY - Minéral 89 Face Serum this stuff just really keeps my skin bouncy and hydrated all day long I started with a trial size and bought the full size because I was so obsessed. 4. I don’t like the texture of The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% so I mix it in with my Kiehl's - Ultra Facial Cream and it makes a perfect AM gel cream that keeps my pores in check while moisturizing! Niacinamide has really done wonders for my skin and I use it in both my AM and PM routine because I just love it. 5. I treat my eyes with Big Cloud Fix from Dollar Shave Club’s Eye Savior and omg it’s the best product no one uses! It’s full of niacinamide, caffeine, and just does wonders for my dark eye circles. After that sets I will use Kiehl's - Creamy Eye Treatment With Avocado because I get really dry under eyes and want to prevent wrinkles with a lot of moisture. 6. If I’m having trouble with my eczema or used actives the night before and have some sensitivity I will use LA ROCHE-POSAY - Cicaplast Baume B5 for Dry Skin Irritations to help repair my barrier further (the niacinamide helps tremendously with that issue as well). 7. Of course, no AM routine is complete without quality sunscreen! I am OBSESSED with PETER THOMAS ROTH - Max Mineral Naked Broad Spectrum SPF 45 Uva/Uvb Protective Lotion right now because it leave no white cast and is a mineral sunscreen! Due to my reactive skin, chemical sunscreens tend to cause sensitivity and flare my eczema so mineral sunscreens are a must for me. This one is gorgeous and has a skin perfecting tint to it that blends seamlessly with your skin tone (I’m very pale and it does not cause any issues for me). This may seem like a long routine, but it takes only five minutes max and has helped me so much to layer moisturizing and hydrating ingredients!

Basic Nighttime Routine for Normal Skin
Basic Nighttime Routine for Normal Skin
How to start a nighttime routine: These are some basic steps you could take when starting a nighttime routine. 1). Cleanser 2). Toner 3). Treatments 4). Eye cream 5). Moisturizer 6). Spot treatment It’s best practice to layer your products from lightest to heaviest/richest. I used the Marcelle micellar water to remove my makeup, then I followed with the Farmacy clean bee gentle cleanser. Next, depending on what your skin needs, this is where you apply your treatments; these can include hydrating serums, retinols, oils, peels, etc. I used TO‘s hyaluronic acid serum and then the TO’s cold pressed rosehip seed oil. It’s best to use water-based before oil-based. Then I will apply my eye cream and then my moisturizer. Lastly, you need to use a spot treatment, this is the time to do it. Cleansing your skin can be a great way to unwind at the end of the day. I personally find it really relaxing. I will only tone my face 2-3 x a week to detox/balance my skin, which I skipped tonight as I did so the previous night. Treatment is great to repair and protect your skin. The two I chose were hyaluronic acid to hydrate my skin, and the rosehip seed oil as it is a great antioxidant/fatty acid to promote cell regeneration, etc. And I always use an eye cream and face cream before bed for that extra hydration :) 1). MARCELLE - Micellar Water 2). FARMACY - Clean Bee Ultra Gentle Facial Cleanser 3). The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 4). The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil 5). FIRST AID BEAUTY - Eye Duty Niacinamide Brightening Eye Cream 6). Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer

Hi guys! i’m back again to show you all my morning routine! i’ve been using my morning routine for awhile now and it’s been really good on my skin! Here’s the products!! THE BODY SHOP - Tea Tree Skin Clearing Facial Wash I commented on this product on my PM skin care routine and i just wanna do a little add on to what i’ve noticed. After washing my face with this, it does feel a bit dry after so keep that into consideration. TOWER 28 - SOS Save.Our.Skin Daily Rescue Facial Spray I’ve used this for awhile now and i’ve noticed absolutely nothing lmaoooo. i mean it’s a bit hydrating don’t get me wrong and it also didn’t irritate my skin which is good too but i didn’t notice anything if i’m being completely honest. Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Multivitamin Booster I really like this serum! i usually use it by itself but you can also put it in your moisturizer for a good boost also. It is really hydrating and I’ve noticed that it helped some of my scaring since my skin gets all scabby and it helped smooth it out. Definitely would recommend if you have sensitive or dry skin!! The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I also love this product a lot! my skin looks brighter and my acne looks a lot better when i use this product. My only problem is when i use this and i rub it in and it kinda makes this white foam on my face, maybe it’s my cleanser? i’m not sure but i do really love this. The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA Now i think this is my fav moisturizer ever. Trust me, I’ve tried so many moisturizer that just haven’t suited my skin, but this product really worked. It’s simple but effective, amazing texture, very moisturizing and i think good for all skin types. I will continue to purchase this product!!! The Ordinary - "B" Oil this product is also one of my favs!! i usually mix it into the moisturizer and it feels very nice on the skin! it also helped make my skin brighter and clear some of my acne scars!!! I also use this under makeup too for a nice deep natural look!! this is another product that i’ll repurchase again and again! I also use a stick sunscreen to protect my skin from the sun!! If you guys have any recommendations i will gladly consider!! Thank you✨✨✨

Morning Routine - Dry Sensitive Skin 🦋
Morning Routine - Dry Sensitive Skin 🦋
Hi y’all! I previously posted my skincare routine on here including skin updates, but have made some changes so I thought I would update it and split it into morning and night routines! I have combo (but more on the dry side) skin that is sensitive and acne prone. I am dealing with some new maskne outbreaks currently which has been demoralizing, but we’re working on it! Depending on how my skin feels when I wake up I will either water cleanse or use CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser So far I like this cleanser; it’s soothing to use and great for my dry skin. I haven’t seen much of a change in acne because of this product, but I didn’t really expect to either The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG Haven’t been consistent with this, but when I use it it seems to help the puffiness under my eyes. Trying to use it daily and hopefully see some results! Then I go in with The Ordinary - 100% Niacinamide Powder mixed with The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 The Ordinary’s Niacinamide powder has gotten some negative feedback online, but I really love it since the zinc in the serum version irritated my skin. The main concerns are people using too high of a concentration, but I make sure to add way less than is even recommended. My skin purged at the beginning but I’ve noticed quite good results in a short time. Sometimes I will skip the niacinamide powder and just use hyalauronic acid, which is great in and of itself. Krave - Great Barrier Relief This is a new product in my routine. I use it when I know I’m going to wear a mask a lot throughout the day or when my skin feels sensitive; I also try to avoid using it after niacinamide since I don’t want to over do it with that. I might post an update on this specific product, but so far I like it and have high hopes! The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA I used to think this wasn’t enough for my skin in the morning but recently reincorporated it into my routine when I realized that with the summer heat and my CeraVe moisturizing cream for dry skin was just making my skin greasy throughout the day. I also feel like it works better under my mask! Krave - The Beet Shield Another recent incorporation to my routine. Again might do an opinion update post but have high hopes for this too! I live in NYC so the fact that it fights against pollutants will hopefully benefit my skin, and also protect somewhat from maskne! Love this as an SPF though, and it absorbs right into the skin! Let me know if you have any suggestions or thoughts, or if anything in here works for you! Stay safe y’all! 🦋✨

First Post: Basic PM Routine
First Post: Basic PM Routine
I’ve been pairing my routine down to some simple basics as I deal with some skin barrier fallout; I jumped into my new tretinoin prescription too quickly, and stripped my skin pretty badly! I’ll be doing some more in-depth reviews of these basics soon, but here are a few one-line reviews for now. The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser As a first cleansing step, this is fairly basic, and I really enjoy the simple INCI list. Wearing anything but SPF, powder, or waterproof mascara? It’s not gonna cut it. HOLI FROG - Tashmoo Water Lily Nourishing Milky Wash I bought this cleanser a few months ago, and wasn’t sold right away - but with a low pH (key!) and simple ingredients, Tashmoo is growing on me. CeraVe - Eye Repair Cream Basic, moisturizing, cheap - but it’s starting to cause some milia. Meh. The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA I kind of love this, but find it leaves me matte at first, then progressively shiney through the day. Starting to use it at night only, and it’s working wonders on my skin. elta md SKINCARE - UV Clear Broad Spectrum SPF 46 Derma recommended, great ingredients, sinks in well with no cast, but does leave me dry after a few hours. I’ll be back with a Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Cream review this week - it’s my first time using it, and I’ve got some strong feelings already!

Post Accutane Night Time Skin Care Routine
Post Accutane Night Time Skin Care Routine
While on accutane I had a very simple skincare routine to allow the medication to do its thing. I’m 7 months post Accutane, and my face is still pimple free. Yay! My skin care concerns at this time is discoloration/dark spots and minimal scarring on one of my cheeks. In this routine I am using the Fresh Soy cleanser to cleanse. It’s so important to make sure you’re thoroughly cleansing your face so that the remaining products can properly penetrate the skin. I use esthetician Nayamka Roberts-Smith (@LABeautyologist)’s 60 second rule when cleansing. Cleansing your face with your fingers for 60 sec allows the cleanser ingredients to do their job. This method helps to soften the skin & dissolve sebum blockages a lot better. I then follow up with applying a hydrating toner (Laniege Cream Skin toner and moisturizer) to my face with my hands. Then 2-3x a week I go in with the exfoliating serum ( The Ordinary’s Mandelic Acid 10% + HA serum) to minimize texture and uneven skin tone. Mandelic acid is gentle and works great on hyperpigmentation on people with deeper skin tones. To end it all off, I use the Kate Somerville recovery cream. Cleanser - fresh - Soy Makeup Removing Face Wash Toner - LANEIGE - Cream Skin Toner & Moisturizer Serum -The Ordinary - Mandelic Acid 10% + HA Moisturizer - Kate Somerville - DeliKate Recovery Cream Pro Tip: Wash your hands before washing your face!🧖🏾‍♀️ #CherieCreator
