December/January Empties!
I’ll start this off with my favourites: MISSHA - Missha All-around Safe Block Essence Sun Milk I’m so sad that I’ve run out of this. If you don’t like the feel of sunscreens that feel thick and heavy, pick this up! you won’t regret it! I also ran out of the Volition sunscreen that I paired along side this one, but recycled it before I took a picture. Briogeo - Don't Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Hair Mask (📍) Again, was so sad to run out of this, check out my post featuring this and the new hair mask I picked up for more info! THE inkey LIST - Niacinamide Oil Control Serum If I could give this 100 stars out of 10, I would. This is my favourite serum of all time and I always have two back ups in my collection! Now for my meh products: SUNDAY RILEY - CEO 15% Vitamin C Brightening Serum I liked the way that this felt don’t get me wrong, but I think because of the shimmer effect it has, it may have been breaking me out a bit. This didn’t have enough in it to last me long enough to see any effects. Kate Somerville - DeliKate Recovery Cream this is unbelievable. Although I will never buy this at the $104 price point, it’s a beautiful, thick, heavy cream. Wonderful for winter skin. fresh - Sugar Hydrating Lip Balm, Watermelon I actually have the lime+mint scent, but this is also amazing. I’ve just began started applying all my lip balms on damp lips, and I’ve found it’s made the biggest difference. No more dry lips! DRUNK ELEPHANT - Sili™ Body Lotion (📍) If you’ve seen my marula oil post, you’ve seen that I don’t support Drunk Elephant anymore, this is one of my last products I have from them (that they sent me) and it was too light to be a body cream. I have really dry legs and this didn’t do the trick. I ended up keeping this on my desk as a hand lotion and it worked well! Now for my no good product: Too Faced - Better Than Sex Mascara (📍) I don’t understand that hype around this mascara. On me, it doesn’t make my lashes look longer or fuller, it flakes super easy and it doesn’t hold my curl. Happy to have finished this so I can move on. 📍= product was sent to me for free
Night Time Routine!
This is the routine I use when I want my skin to GLOW! I first cleanse with the TATCHA - Pure One Step Camellia Oil Cleanser and then the YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser . This was my last use of that cleanser and I won’t be repurchasing (see my other post for why). On this night I then used the Dr. Jart+ - Ceramidin Facial Mask which I have fallen IN LOVE with. I got the whole “Ceremide” line in a holiday set and it’s bomb! Next was The Ordinary - Retinol 0.5% in Squalane , I’ve just started using this retinol but it’s a hit, I use it 2-3 times a week. After I use the Kate Somerville - DeliKate Recovery Cream which has been amazing for my dry skin. I had a couple blemishes so my last step was the Kate Somerville - EradiKate Acne Treatment which I’m also in love with. Hope you enjoyed this post and have a great night!☺️

Why I bought something: ITS SO PRETTY
Has anyone else simply bought some products cause they look beautiful!? I’m definitely guilty of this. This trio from Kate Somerville made me whip out my credit card SO fast! I just had to have these lilac beauties. My sensitized, always red skin can use all the helps it needs and these products seem like they could be the answer to my skin prayers!! With peptides and ceramides in the cream, Shea, honey and cucumber in the serum and ginger and Tasmania in the cleanser AND all without fragrance, I think my skin will be singing stress free praises 🙌🏻 Can’t wait to post a full review 💜

Budget Brand vs High-End: $10 vs $54
Budget Brand vs High-End: $10 vs $54
Bakuchiol is a new, trending ingredient that has growing research behind it. Sourced from the babchi plant, it’s an antioxidant that is thought to offer benefits similar to retinol: smooth texture, even tone, diminish fine lines. The research isn’t as long-lived and consistent as that supporting retinol use, but it does seem promising. Its benefits as a soothing antioxidant have been established, which alone makes it worth trying out in your routine! But as for which product I’d recommend, as someone with super sensitive combination skin... 🌱 HERBIVORE - Bakuchiol Anti-Aging Serum Cost: $54 USD/30mL Texture: Jelly Serum; not thick enough to be a gel, more viscous than most liquids; soaks in quickly. Finish: Dewy; no shine, no stickiness, but more visibly hydrated. Skin Types: All! Results: Positive; but underwhelming. Overall: I had very low expectations for this serum- this one of only two Herbivore products I would ever repeatedly put on my face after disliking almost their entire line. But. This is actually pretty nice. The texture is unique, a gelatinous sort of almost-fluid that stretches and jiggles but soaks in quickly. The packaging is absolutely gorgeous, almost pretty enough to make it worth $54. But, it’s not. It is hydrating and does plump any fine lines that are worsened by dryness, but otherwise I only saw minor improvement in redness and no signs of any resurfacing or long-term lessening of fine lines. No acne aggravation or improvement. I wouldn’t purchase a full-size, but do enjoy the hydrating aspect enough to finish the other mini bottles I own. 🔬 THE inkey LIST - Bakuchiol Cost: $9.99 USD/30 mL Texture: Thin Lotion; silky and light; soaks in quickly. Finish: Satin; no shine, no stickiness. Skin Types: All; though it’s only moisturizing enough to be a stand-alone moisturizer for pretty oily skin. Results: Positive; as expected. Overall: Due to my experience with the Herbivore Bakuchiol, I had low expectations again- but this lotion surprised me! It doesn’t make my skin “dewy and bouncy” as the Herbivore did, but it did lightly moisturize and do something the purple serum did not: soothe. I used this alone as well as alongside retinol (like the Herbivore) and saw significant reduction in irritation from retinol use when using, enough so that I plan to use this every night that I’m applying Tretinoin or in the day when I apply benzoyl peroxide. It diminishes redness, flaking, and makes my skin not “itch” from the benzoyl peroxide. I didn’t see acne reduction or lessening of fine lines, but the soothing aspect alone is enough to get me to repurchase. Definitely worth it if you often experience skin inflammation and/or redness, retinoid-induced or otherwise!

drunkelephant Protini Polypept
drunkelephant Protini Polypeptide Cream vs paulaschoice Peptide Booster! . 🔍 Most of the general info r.e price, texture, INCI you’ll find on the infograph slides... but to expand more on my thoughts: . 🔍 Despite both being dedicated peptide products - they both only have 2 Peptides in common and most of the common ingredients are the amino acids (that are usually sold together as raw materials). DE is heavy on Human Growth Factors, where-as the PC Booster contains more ‘drone’ Peptides that are very specific in that they target - I.E Azelaoyl Bis-dipeptide-10 is a peptide derived from an Azelaic Acid molecule that targets skin tone. For that reason I find the results of both quite different: . 🔍 PROTINI RESULTS: Protini has made the biggest impact on my skin in regards to redness, skin resilience and moisture retention. I have seen subtle brightening over the past few months, but use this more for the amazing results r.e skin barrier function. . 🔍 PEPTIDE BOOSTER RESULTS: With this Booster, I have seen the most results with my skin tone (brighter, more even), and surface hydration - my skin is incredibly plump the morning after using this. Likewise, this does reduce redness, but not as effectively as Protini. . 🔍 Usually, I don’t like to have too many similar products in my routine that serve the same function/ingredients, but I have been really enjoying both for separate reasons + benefits so I imagine I’ll continue using + alternating both. Most people I know will prefer to pick one so to conclude: . 🔍 PROTINI - for suffer sensitivity, redness, scarring/textural issues or a compromised barrier. 🔍 PC PEPTIDE BOOSTER/ For pigmentation/skin tone, hydration + fine lines. .
Meebak Cica (short for centell
Meebak Cica (short for centella asiatica). I was super intrigued! What is it: a leafy grass that helps heal redness, irritation, acne, and other stressed out skin ailments. My Verdict? Really enjoyed this duo! The serum($20) is a little thicker than your traditional serum. It absorbs quickly, and doesn't leave any sticky residue in its wake. As you can see, my serum is getting used up.. and for good reason! I started using it every morning for a few weeks, and really loved how my skin looked fuller and less red. The Moisturizer ($15) is pretty good too. It's lightweight, almost a gel texture (but it's a cream). It absorbs quickly also, and doesn't have any real discernible scent. It didn't cause any breakouts, and really moisturized my skin. I found it comparable to other more expensive moisturizers.

Who wants embrace your natural
Who wants embrace your natural glow and be your best self? This is the main goal of 𝐅𝐄𝐔𝐈𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐓𝐄 (the French word for “layered”). Feuillete creates clean, nontoxic, high performance skincare products to highlight natural beauty and glow. 🌱 Smooth Water Essence with 86.7% saccharomyces ferment filtrate, niacinamide, centella asiatica, a triple brightening complex of licorice, lotus, peony, adenosine and beta-glucan. All these ingredients increase hydration level immediately and make skin prepared for further actives absorption. Essence really makes skin bright, more even toned and radiant, helps to calm inflammation and redness (especially after sun exposure) and control sebum production. I am happy with this product, it is easily combined with all my other products and a little goes a long way. PS. I love using it under hydrating/replenishing masks for better effect. 🌱 Fresh Intensive Cream with with niacinamide, fermented red ginseng, ceramides, algae, centella asiatica, fig fruit extracts, adenosine, beta-glucan and HA. Cream has lightweight gel-cream texture, absorbs in seconds with smooth silky finish (it does contain silicons) and add moisture to the skin. Skin becomes bouncy and soft. It is great for using under sunscreen due to lightweight texture and anti-inflammatory and AOX properties. Both products are cruelty-free, paraben- and fragrance-free, essence is a vegan as well.
Squalane 💚 The best oil for oily skin?
Squalane 💚 The best oil for oily skin?
If you’re anything like me you’ve always wanted to incorporate oils into your routine but your oily skin really made that hard. Squalane is your best option for that. Without being too heavy or greasy it helps balance the oil production in your skin to provide you with just enough moisture. It’s full of free radicals that help fight the signs of aging. It also has anti-inflammatory benefits that help a lot with skin conditions like acne and eczema (which I suffer from myself). A few drops a night can be very beneficial to combo/oily skin. The The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Squalane is probably my favorite product with squalane in it. It retails for $7.90 making it very affordable! I’ll take 2-3 drops at night, rub it between my hands, and press it into the skin. You only need a little bit so this oil will last you a long time! It claims to moisturize the skin while mimicking the skins natural oils and I find that to be true. It never feels heavy or greasy on my skin like some oils can. I only use this at night though because I feel like it could potentially be too much under make up for oily skin. If you’re not into oils and want something to give you the same benefits I love the BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Probiotic Gel Moisturizer . It’s a little pricier at $52 (I only have the mini pictured) but it’s well worth it. I love the lightweight, gel formula because I can use it morning or night. They claim it helps with transepidermal water loss (how your skin loses moisture) and overall strengthens your skin barrier. I do find this to be true. My skin over time always feels better and more hydrated when I use this. It can sometimes feel dehydrated and this always does the trick. It also doesn’t have a smell either which I’m always a huge fan of. I think the own down side of this would be the price tag. I think these are both great option for OILY skin who need some hydration!! If you don’t mind oils The Ordinary will be perfect for you. If you’re like “woah, my skin is oily. I’m not putting more oil on it!” thats totally okay and the Biossance will be more up your alley. 🖤

Minis saved me!
Minis saved me!
I got these cute little minis from the 3 Little Wonders Mini Set. This set also includes the mini size Truth serum which I love. However these 2 products didn’t impress me. The Sheer Transformation Perfecting Moisturizer is an okay moisturizer. It has a little thick consistency which I am not a huge fan of. It blends away easily but it can feel heavy especially when you layer it with other products. I was so excited to try the Invigorating Night Transformation Gel. I love products which has a gel-like texture but this product😣 I tried to use it in many ways. By layering, without layering, just this but it keeps on peeling off like glue🤦‍♀️ so annoying!!! I thought this would be my HG when I opened it because of the texture :( The full size of these are $40 & $38 respectively and I would not buy the full size. A great thing about trying out minis is that it can save you a lot of $$ 😉
