I Like To Keep It On A High Note

First of, the title is by Kendrick Lamar. I post mostly makeup looks but I thought I would post my daily skincare. I don’t buy fragranced products and I do my best to buy vegan products. I have struggled to find a water-based cleanser but I finally found one! About my skin: My skin is normal-dry and has seen at least thirty 4th of Julys. It is incredibly reactive. Enough talk. Onto the products. CAUDALIE - Make-Up Removing Cleansing Oil
A Holy Grail product. It has a faint scent that it took me a little while to get used to but I love this product. Balms always seemed so messy to me and I hated using them but this is relaxing. It is like getting a mini-face message if mini face messages also removed three coats of Pat McGrath Dark Star mascara. If you are looking to start double cleansing? Start here. I will just take a 15% commission. PEACH & LILY - Power Calm Hydrating Gel Cleanser
I only started using this last week but it is the perfect double cleanse companion: not too strong and not too moisturizing and goopy. It has a faint stone fruit smell that actually smells like stone fruit and not some chemical additive. There is not aloe vera, no HA, and the price is really great and it’s vegan! acwell - Licorice pH Balancing Cleansing TonerI just ordered this toner on the advice of sokoglam. I tried klairs toner and my skin started itching so badly. I got my money back and I am hoping this is a better experience. If not, off to Ulta I shall go! KINSHIP - Pimple Potion Retinal + Salicylic Acid Acne Treatment
I took a picture of my chin and the kind people of Cherie did not make fun of me. They told me I had milia. There aren’t a lot of vegan salicylic acid treatments but kinship is one. It has gotten most of the smaller milia out (although now I have these weird large chin pores. Like seriously huge OMG). I am being patient while it works on the slightly bigger ones. Thank you, Cherie! Krave - Barrier Relief
My skin was a hot mess and this product saved me. I think this is my last bottle but if your skin barrier has established barricades and is throwing bricks? This is a great product! Plus it’s vegan! ETUDE HOUSE - Soonjung Hydro Barrier Cream
My AM moisturizer. Slow to absorb but when the weather is cold it will be so moisturizing! Milk MAKEUP - Vegan Milk Moisturizer
PM moisturizer! Slightly tingly but really moisturizing. Do I need to say it is vegan? dear, klairs - Fundamental Nourishing Eye Butter
My eternal love. Glossier. - Invisible Shield Daily Sunscreen
Terrible company; only sunscreen that doesn’t break me out. JOSIE MARAN - Whipped Argan Oil Body Butter Vanilla Apricot
I have it in unscented. Great for hands. Sustainably harvested by women paid a living wage. Do you use any of these products?

Just a golden hour skin update 😍
COVID & quarantine have taught me a lot- most importantly being how essential it is to be consistent in order to see skincare results. Before the stay at home orders I had no consistent routine for exfoliation and just grabbed whatever felt right & incorporated all kinds of stuff. I’ve learned to keep it simple & stick to only a few things!! Morning routine: Rinse with water (get off sleeping masks etc) Toner or Spray: eitherTOWER 28 - SOS Daily Rescue Facial Spray or INDIE LEE - CoQ-10 Toner Vitamin C: OLE HENRIKSEN - Banana Bright Vitamin C Serum currently, thinking of trying SUNDAY RILEY - C.E.O. Rapid Flash Brightening Serumnext- does anyone have thoughts on this?? Hydrate!!!: Depending on what my skin is feeling like it needs, i switch between GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Pink Juice Oil-Free Moisturizer Krave - Barrier Relief FARMACY - Daily Greens Oil-Free Gel Moisturizer with Moringa and Papaya FARMACY - Honey Halo Ultra-hydrating Ceramide Moisturizer & NATURA CULINA - Chamomile Face Oil Full Size or a mix of them if I’m dry! So first I have to say the PEACH & LILY - Power Calm Hydrating Gel Cleanser was half off at Ulta and I decided to try it as my morning cleanser. That was a mistake and why I am broken out in these pictures. Pics are no makeup/filter. My skin is normal /dry. It is incredibly reactive. I can’t use any actives not retinol not HA nor any of the acids. I have one age spot because I avoid the sun like a plague and always wear sunscreen and a hat. This is why my skincare system is so simple and focuses on adding moisture. CAUDALIE - Make-Up Removing Cleansing Oil An HG Product. It feels great and makes a nice clean start to the day. Also fragrance free!!!! AM ONLY: fresh - Soy Makeup Removing Face Wash I keep coming back to it because it doesn’t irritate my skin or cause breakouts but I don’t really love it. It works. Meh. PM ONLY: OSEA - Ocean Cleanser I can’t use this every wash because of the lactic acid but it is incredibly effective at making my face glow and getting rid of acne scars and breakouts. I wash my face and then let it sit for two minutes (a cherie trick) and wow does that make a huge difference. It has a distinct smell that takes some getting used to and it produces a tiny bit of foam that you really don’t want to get in your eyes. acwell - Licorice pH Balancing Cleansing Toner I like the way this product feels. My skin feels fresh after I use it. The texture is really thin and it takes a while to absorb. H2O+ - Hydration Sensitive Essence I haven’t decided how I feel about this product yet. I am allergic to the moisturizer and the cleanser in this line. I do like the milky texture and the way it doesn’t lay on my skin but seems to absorb while I am not paying attention. Krave - Great Barrier Relief My great HG love that keeps my face from drying out. Let us never be separated. KINSHIP - Pimple Potion Retinal + Salicylic Acid Acne Treatment is slowly, but surely, getting rid of the milia on my chin. It is this orange-yellow color and has a thick lotiony texture. innisfree - Olive Real Power Cream Ex. A little goes a loooong way. I have struggled to find a moisturizer because I was applying lotion 5-6 times a day and DE isn’t cheap. This is 1/3 of the price and works 4x as well at keeping my face moisturized. It has a pleasant citrus smell and the whipped gel texture is nice. dear, klairs - Fundamental Nourishing Eye Butter This has a really nice creamy but not to thick texture. I use it twice a day and my eye bags have been reduced by 90%. The container is a pain to deal with and dispense product from. AM (Coming Soon) Krave - The Beet Shield How am I doing?

Good K Beauty eye duo
I got this duo eye set for $35! Hello steal! First of all the nourishing eye butter is very nourishing, it’s more of a gel cream mixture and gives your under eyes a very cool feeling when you put it on. The eye awakening gel is really nice too but taking one star off because the pump always pumps out too much for me! Not that big of a deal I just hate wasting product. Otherwise a really good cheap eye set I’m surprised by this one. I thought I wouldn’t notice a difference but I really do! Similar to the belif under eye cream but this baby is cheaper! If I had to chose one I’d say the nourishing eye butter just because you can control how much comes out. Otherwise they work the exact same, same nourishing feel, same under eye coolness, just different pumps. 5/5 really good eye duo i would buy it again I’m just so interested in other eye creams I’m dying to try out. Once again my love for K Beauty is expanding. And I recommend you guys check them out too!

Cleansing Routine to Manage Acne
I have sensitive combination skin that is acne-prone. Finding a routine to manage my acne took almost eight years. My trouble spots are my cheeks, forehead and above my top lip. I’m pretty strict with my routine, because my skin is not fond of change. AM ROUTINE I like to keep my morning routine simple and light because too many products stress out my skin, feel heavy, cause breakouts and I end up sweating them off. I cleanse with CAUDALIE - Instant Foaming Cleanser . I love this cleanser because it uses clean ingredients that don’t over dry my face and it smells great! The only reason I knock off a star is because fragrance is included in the ingredients, which can irritate some folks. My face is pretty sensitive and I haven’t had any issues. To moisturize, I pat CAUDALIE - Vinopure Skin Perfecting Mattifying Fluid on my face and neck (never forget your neck!). It works like magic! It dries clear, feels light and doesn’t leave you oily. I can literally feel the moisturizer eating up the excess oil on my skin. I love it. I definitely recommend this product for people with oily skin. Afterwards, I always always always SPF my face and neck. I’ve been using Glossier. - Invisible Shield Daily Sunscreen and I love it’s consistency. It’s super light and leaves that dewey glow that everyone loves. I just wish it wasn’t so expensive. If anyone has any dupe recommendations — let me know! PM ROUTINE I go HAM during my night routine to treat any trouble spots and damage. At night, I cleanse with DIFFERIN - Daily Deep Cleanser BPO 5% . The benzoyl peroxide kills bacteria and keeps my breakouts to a minimum. I follow it with DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel . This is the secret ingredient! If you try any of the products in this post, this is the one. It has really minimized my breakouts. Before using the treatment gel, there was never a day a didn’t have at least one bump. Afterwards, I use Glossier. - Super Bounce Hyaluronic Acid + Vitamin B5 Serum to add some extra moisture to my skin overnight. I top it off with the moisturizer I use from my AM routine. ONCE A WEEK AM ROUTINE: 1-2x a week. I use Glossier. - Solution Exfoliating Skin Perfector to exfoliate. Especially after shaving. This is my favorite after shave. It’s a great chemical exfoliator that leaves your skin glowing. Use it after cleansing and before moisturizing. PM ROUTINE: For extra support and as a spot treatment, I mix two drops of TRADER JOE'S - Spa 100% Australian Tea Tree Oil into a small cup of water. I use a cotton pad and pat the mixture on my trouble spots. It minimizes the redness and irritation overnight! I don’t have perfect skin, but I’m so much happier with the state it’s in. My skin is glowing and clear. I finally feel confident showing my face to the world.

Current Skincare Routine
This. is my current routine right now. I noticed that some of my products aren’t working as well as they were. Especially the Kiehls concentrate, and the Bliss exfoliant. I have quite a bit of dark spots on both sides of my cheeks, and sometimes I have some whiteheads. My forehead has those small bumps too. Like there’s nothing, but they’re the kind that are bothersome. I should most likely simplify my routine, but feel free to give me any advice. If there are any recommendations for anything, that would be cool. I’ve been eyeing a new second cleanser, and a new spot treatment.

Oil Cleansers for Clogged Pores
I consider double cleansing with a light oil cleanser an integral part of pore care. It wasn't until I introduced oil cleansers, specifically using oils high in linoleic acid, that I saw a real change in preventing and treating clogs. Both these oil cleansers are great options. dear, klairs - Gentle Black Fresh Cleansing Oil Sent by @wishtrend to test as part of the #WTBeautyTester. This has a base of sunflower seed oil paired with grape seed oil, jojoba seed oil, and black currant seed oil. I absolutely adore this. It's incredibly light & fluid, and glides effortlessly across the skin. It takes off makeup well and rinses off completely clean. I even used this on a sensitized barrier and found it to be incredibly gentle and non irritating. It's the perfect cleansing oil for long massages on the skin and I found it quite effective treating clogged pores. CAUDALIE - Make-Up Removing Cleansing Oil This feels incredibly luxe on the skin and the packaging is beautiful. Compared to Klairs, this formula is more rich and thick with sunflower oil, sweet almond oil, castor oil, grape seed oil and emulsifiers. It's quite pleasant to use, but this requires a lot of product to cover your entire face. I love to take time to massage oil cleansers into my skin, but I found that this tends to "grip" and cling to my skin making it difficult to massage for a longer period of time. This may be due to the castor oil which can have a sticky texture. Regardless, it's still a lovely oil to use just not the most ideal if you're into the oil cleansing method. I definitely prefer the Klairs oil and it has become a new staple product to my collection. You bet I will be purchasing this when it runs out.

Help With Chin-care problem!
I use OSEA - Ocean Cleanserwhich has lactic acid in it but I still have bumps under the skin of my chin. They are small and there is no discoloration around then. Then never erupt onto the surface of my skin. What are they?. I was thinking of adding KINSHIP - Pimple Potion Retinal + Salicylic Acid Acne Treatmentas a three times a week spot treatment to maybe clean out my pores? Would that be helpful? Could anyone rec a better vegan product if they think that one wouldn’t work? I have reactive skin. Should I start at once a week? Is it okay to keep using the Ocean Cleanser which has helped my chin somewhat? Thank you so much! PS In the picture I have a chin blemish because I tried a primer I got in my Allure beauty box. Primers and I never get along and yet I felt the need to try this one anyway.

Cleansing oil, kose it or loose it?
KOSE COSMEPORT - SOFTYMO Speedy Cleansing Oil This bit$& let me down. I had high hopes. This product did not clean off make up as well as it claimed and I didn’t see any added benefits to my pores, skin, anything. I used the product for a month and nope nothing..... It has a weird olive oil scent which in all tranparency made me a bit nauseous🤢 TMI and it didn’t pair well with a hyluranic acid cleanser CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin I usually like to start with a cleansing oil then a foam cleanser. The oil also blocked pores and wasn’t fun to use. Also if you have CYSTIC acne I wouldn’t suggest this. And if you are having a bad day this kinda makes it worse in other words. If you are under a lot of stress(about to get real here) it doesn’t pair well with tears lol yes. The back story of this is that college life and relationships get to us. And an important face wash and moisturizer in my opinion take away stress from the face. However, the PEACH & LILY - Power Calm Hydrating Gel Cleanser that I switched to seemed to be sufficient enough for cleaning my skin and giving my skin a good protective barrier, however, if I put on my full face of make up then I need something to take away my powdered donut, so TATCHA - The Deep Cleanse Exfoliating Cleanser is unreal, how much grime, and make up it will take off with such a small amount. But for a cheaper alternative CeraVe - Hydrating Cream-To-Foam Cleanser but for this you should follow up with an exfoliant. I personally, have dry skin at the moment without makeup, so I have to be careful what I use because a lot of products strip everything from my skin. Okay lastly, I personally believe oil cleansing before a foam cleanser is not for everyone. Because I have seen some people have great success and me not so much. But in my experience learning how to exfoliate and cleanse your face is key. And truly understanding your face is key. I’m other words, focus on what your face needs. I feel that face masks twice a week that are for My SKIN conditions are vital to a nice well rounded well shall we say just great looking skin and let me just last note that this is too cool for school - Pumpkin 24K Gold Mask a holy of holy grails. This was incredible! Incredible! Incredible. Treat yourself and find relaxation you deserve it..

These are some products I’ve been recently reaching for/ testing out and enjoying! 💕 Product Reviews: 💚 @etudeofficial Soonjung Hydro Barrier Cream is so nice and gentle. I love putting a thick layer of this on my skin, kind of like a sleeping mask and it is really hydrating and soothing. It has some great ingredients such as panthenol, madecassoside and green tea to help repair and soothe skin.  I definitely do however prefer the Etude House SoonJung 2x Barrier Intensive Cream over this one as I found that to be more gentle and repairing. I think that one would be better for more sensitive and dryer skin. 💙 @rovectin_global Skin Essentials Activating Treatment Lotion is very hydrating! The product is meant to repair the skins moisture barrier and hydrate with the 7 different types of hyaluronic acid as well as gently exfoliate with the papaya fruit enzyme. It has a thick, vicious texture so I really enjoyed this in the colder months! I can pretty much use this everyday, whatever my skin condition is and it doesn’t irritate. 💚 @buildskincare B-Balm (PR): I have been testing out the b-balm lately and I really love it! It has a gel texture but feels like a facial oil. I have  a dry patch on my chin and it has really help reduce the flakiness and irritation so I love using this on dry patches all over my body.  I also put this over top or mix it in with my moisturizer whenever my skin is in need of a little bit more moisture. 💙 @bentoncosmetic Snail Bee High Content Essence (PR) is so moisturizing! I’ve been reaching for this one a lot lately. The snail mucin and bee venom help to moisturize the skin and the other ingredients such as aloe and collagen help to soothe and calm skin. I have been enjoying the deep hydration it gives me without being sticky! My skin feel really smooth and soft after using this one!   💚 @apieu_cosmetics Madecassoside Ampoule is my favourite ampoule for when my skin is feeling really irritated. It adds lightweight hydration to the skin and it really repairs and heals my skin when it’s damaged. I can use this product even when my skin is feeling super irritated so I highly recommend this one!

Struggling with sudden acne :(
I’ve normally had pretty clear skin with a pimple or two during that time of the month, but in the past three weeks my skin really just freaked out. Honestly I think it’s because I tried a bunch of new products at the same time: the Paula’s Choice BHA, Purito BHA mild exfoliating pads, and the Banila Clean it Zero. I’ve since stopped all of them just to help my skin calm down except it doesn’t seem to be getting better :( My current routine: CeraVe - Renewing SA Cleanser For Normal Skin I only started this three days ago because I’ve heard such great things about it’s ability to clear acne but it’s been too short a time to really see any results PURITO - Centella Green Level Calming Toner Amazing toner, I’ve been using this for 2+ months now and it really helps calm my redness and is just a good lightweight toner. The Ordinary - Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA Got it a year ago and I love the way it makes my skin feel but not sure if it’s really doing anything ETUDE HOUSE - Soonjung Hydro Barrier Cream Very calming, a little thick-ish but really hydrating. Haven’t been using this for too long either but it’s pretty non-irritating and safe for sensitive skin At night, I’ll also sometimes use: The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Doesn’t absorb super well into my skin so I only use it on my problem areas, have been using for a year or so Please help!! I’m freaking out about my acne which causes my acne to be worse which causes me to freak out even more :’) thanks!!

#cheriecreator #ad #cheriepartner One of the best moisturizers I have ever tried! Milk MAKEUP - Vegan Milk Moisturizer Hey guys! I hope you’re having a lovely day. Ever since Milk Makeup announced that they were releasing a moisturizer, I instantly knew I had to try it out! Milk Makeup always astonishes me.. from their beautiful packaging to the way their products are formulated. Here is a little background information about myself. I have oily and acne prone skin. I use this moisturizer every morning after I wash my face and sometimes at night. Now, let’s get into more details about the moisturizer and my thoughts! ⚡️WHAT IS IT? A rich, thick, creamy moisturizer ideally recommended for those with dull, sensitive and dry skin. Even though I have oily skin, it works wonders for me as well. It keeps my skin glowing throughout the day without the greasiness feeling. ⚡️WHAT DOES IT DO? For me, this moisturizer really helps keep my skin feeling hydrated and rejuvenated. Although I have oily skin, my face tends to feel dry after I wash my face so applying this afterwards is the icing on the cake. I also believe it has cleared my skin. This moisturizer has glycerin, which helps reduce acne and doesn’t clog your pores. ⚡️HOW DOES IT WORK? This contains a variety of vegan milks such as fig, oat, argan and desert milk. Fig milk helps soften and soothe the skin, oat milk calms the skin, argan milk helps maintain the moisturize throughout the day and desert milk keeps the face feeling hydrated. All of these rich ingredients help keep your face feeling healthy and hydrated throughout the day. ⚡️IS IT WORTH IT? Yes, I honestly think it’s worth it. I would recommend this product to any person who is looking for a rich hydrating moisturizer. This product is on the pricier side but a little bit of product goes a long way. I’ve been using mine for a couple months now. ⚡️ANY ISSUES? I haven’t had any issues with this product!

My favorite skin care products!
I am obsessed with the Milk makeup cleanser and moisturizer! I have been using them since may! Both products are vegan. The cleanser is perfect for someone like me with normal to dry skin. It doesn’t have a fragrance at all. It is kind of thick but I love that ! Some cleansers I have used in the past would leave my skin feeling weird and dry. I would also end up breaking out shortly after using other cleansers. My face feels soft and clean after using the milk vegan cleanser. I haven’t experienced and breakouts after using it. The moisturizer really helps keep my dry skin hydrated ! It is a little on the thicker side but it feels amazing on the skin. If you have oily skin I recommend only using it at night.

Looking to Add AHA to my Evening Routine
Looking to Add AHA to my Evening Routine
My skin is famously dry and sensitive. Like, any new product needs CAREFUL consideration and research, sometimes just rinsing my face with water can cause redness and irritation. Anything I do buy needs to be introduced slowly and just a little bit at a time. I used a chemical exfoliant once and it left my skin itching like crazy, red, and drier than the Sahara, so I’ve been a user of physical exfoliants my whole life. But recently I’ve been looking for something deeper to really reset my skin without irritation and burning. I included my current routine of products I’m currently using, and my face to give you a better idea of what my skin is like. Being a dry skin type, I’m always looking for hydration, so a one-two punch of exfoliation and hydration is ideal for me! Can you help a girl out? Leave and recommendations in the comments below!

A roundup review of some pink products I’ve been using! ACURE - Seriously Soothing SPF 30 Day Cream This SPF moisturizer boasts niacinamide and blue tansy to sooth and even skin out in addition to being a moisturizing mineral SPF. I gotta say I’m not a huge fan of moisturizing SPFs in the first place but this one looked nice to me. It’s got a thin consistency coming out the tube but as you spread it on it’s pretty thick and heavy feeling. In about the middle of the ingredients list is coconut oil, a very occlusive and comedogenic oil, so I definitely wouldn’t recommend this to anyone who is oily or acne prone, but it hasn’t broken me out at least. It’s not my favorite SPF I’ve ever used, but if my skin is super dry or sensitive I’ll use this over my others. fresh - Sugar Strawberry Exfoliating Face Wash I love this cleanser! I use it twice a week for some nice exfoliation. I’ve always preferred physical exfoliation over chemical (I know I’m in the minority here) and this one is super gentle! The sugar granules are small and dissolve pretty quickly, and the cleanser itself is a non-foaming jelly, plus it smells like a delicious strawberry smoothie. My skin doesn’t feel dry or tight at all after using it. I will definitely be purchasing the full size when I finish this! FARMACY - Very Cherry Bright 15% Clean Vitamin C Serum with Acerola Cherry This is the serum that changed my opinion about serums! I used to avoid them because I hated the sticky feeling they would leave on my skin, but my skin had been lackluster and I wanted to add a vitamin C to my routine. This serum is amazing y’all! It’s only 15% vitamin C derived from cherries, so it’s gentle and natural, plus it has 4 different derivatives of hyaluronic acid. It just smooths over my skin like butter, I love it, I use it as needed for extra hydration or if I just wanna feel extra glowy, plus it smells so good and sweet! I’m glad I took this plunge, I highly recommend it! ORIGINS - Retexturizing Mask with Rose Clay I’ve only used this mask twice but so far it’s been really nice. I am a masker, always have been, and while clay masks aren’t really my go-to since I have dry skin, I’m glad I have just this one. It really tightens up my pores and my skin just feels sooo smooth after. It is a bit drying after washing it off but after serum and moisturizer it’s not an issue, and when I wake up my skin feels smooth and clear. Overall i think it does what it claims to do very well!

As a person who deals with both hormonal acne and eczema, finding skincare products that don’t disrupt my skin’s natural barrier is a delicate balance. These skincare products have consistently kept my skin in check. My face looks softened and dewy (but not oily)! Because my skin changes day to day, I adjust this routine based on my skin’s needs but otherwise this is usually my go-to morning routine. Hope you spotted a product you like too! Also, let me know if you have any skincare recommendations! I’m always willing to try new things! 😄

For all you oily people 😌
For all you oily people 😌
✨I live in the tropics, so my oily skin tends to get more oily and dewy with the heat and humidity here. I bought this moisturizer because I needed one that wouldn’t just sit on my face and make me look even oilier. ✨This product is specifically aimed for people on the oilier side. It is very hydrating, watery, and lightweight. It’s a gel cream that is formulated with hyaluronic acid, sea water, and antioxidants to provide a good dose of hydration. ✨WHAT I LIKE MOST: This makes my skin look MATTE, thanks to an ingredient called maltodextrin. It really feels like a makeup primer. It has other ingredients that make the product truly feel VELVETY once it’s applied on my skin. I could not believe how soft and matte it made my skin look when I first tried it. Lastly, this has other great ingredients in the formulation like coconut fruit juice, extracts from red algae, marine based polysaccharides to soothe skin, among the other goodies!!!! ✨THE BAD: I had to stop using this product because it started to burn around the corners of my nose and around my eyes. This tends to be a sensitive area for me, but when a product literally feels like it’s burning, you MUST take it off and stop using it. The same thing happened to me with the Naturium eye cream, which I also loved, but also had to stop using 🥺. I’m really not sure what is causing this, but I reached out to the brand and am waiting for a reply about any possible irritating ingredient in both of these products. I am resetting my skin routine at the moment because I was thissss close to ruining my skin barrier. So once I feel my skin is healthy enough, I’ll give this product another try. Maybe it won’t burn anymore if my skin is all healed and strong. 🤞 ✨OVERALL: This is a great product for oily skin, the formulation is great, and the price ($20) is pretty good. I’d recommend this if you are looking for a new moisturizer and tend to be on the oilier side. NATURIUM - Marine Hyaluronic Water Cream -J 🤍

Tips for Retinoid-Induced Dryness! 💦
Tips for Retinoid-Induced Dryness! 💦
I recently began using prescribed Clindamycin gel and Tretinoin cream for my acne. I already had dry, sensitive skin so adding these products has amped up those issues. So how am I dealing with my dry, irritated skin? Aquaphor - Healing Ointment Skin Protectant This ointment is designed for dry, cracked, or irritated skin. It’s clinically proven to restore smooth, healthy skin. It contains petrolatum, which acts as a skin protectant. Other ingredients include: mineral oil, ceresin, lanolin alcohol, panthenol, glycerin, and bisabolol. I mainly use this ointment on my lips, but I occasionally use it under my eyes and inside my nose if they are extra dry. FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration This cream aims to help hydrated, parched skin, as well as temporarily relieve minor irritation and itching due to eczema and other conditions. It is safe for sensitive skin, and does not contain parabens, harsh chemicals, or colorants. Its star ingredients include: colloidal oatmeal, shea butter, ceramides, and squalane. Unfortunately it does contain eucalyptus oil, but the small amount doesn’t irritate my skin. I use this cream as my AM moisturizer. It is deeply hydrating and absorbs into the skin easily. My skin feels so soft and smooth thanks to this cream. It soothes my skin after applying the clindamycin gel and reduces irritation. PURITO - Centella Green Level Unscented Sun SPF50+ This sunscreen is perfect for dry, sensitive, acne-prone skin. It contains hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, and centella asiatica extract. With its 70% moisture base and 4 different types of essences, it works like a moisturizing cream. It provides SPF50+, PA++++ protection. I use this after the Ultra Repair Cream in the AM and then reapply 1-2 times throughout the day. It provides my skin with much-needed hydration and UV protection. It’s the perfect consistency and rubs onto my skin so easily, all without being sticky. It soothes and smoothes my skin! These are just some of the products that I use. My whole routine is aimed at hydrating my skin and reducing irritation. My AM routine includes: CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser , PAULA'S CHOICE - Enriched Calming Toner , PAULA'S CHOICE - Omega + Complex Serum , Clindamycin gel, FAB Ultra Relief Cream, and Purito Centella Unscented Sunscreen. My PM routine includes the same products listed above minus the SPF and CeraVe - Skin Renewing Night Cream for my moisturizer.

 Healing Ointment Skin Protectant

ingredient spotlight: oatmeal
ingredient spotlight: oatmeal
This post is all about oatmeal, which is definitely something I never thought would be in skincare. However, I’ve found it insanely helpful for dry or normal skin types, as well as sensitive and acne prone skin. It’s very soothing and repairing! It is produced by finely grinding oats, then boiling them. The antioxidants found in oats (and colloidal oatmeal), can help soothe skin! It also contains water-binding properties and is an effective skin protectant. The FDA categorizes colloidal oatmeal as a skin protectant, allowing it to be listed as an active ingredient on skincare products. Today I’m going to be talking about three products with oats, FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Wild Oat Hydrating Toner , Krave - Oat So Simple Water Cream , and the Herbal Dynamics Beauty - HYALURONIC ACID & OAT OVERNIGHT RECOVERY MASK . — Wild Oat Hydrating Toner: perfect in my AM routine when I need some extra hydration AND to tone, but don’t wanna dry my skin out. I usually apply this with my hands, after I wash them, and just kind of pat the milky toner in. It’s a great layering product, and I can layer a few pats of this in before going in with my moisturizer. It’s pretty watery, but somehow manages to pack in a lot of hydration; sometimes I’ll mix it with a serum to get extra hydration. I make sure to bring this down to my neck and chest cause I don’t wanna leave those out! Because this has colloidal oatmeal, it’s super soothing, mega hydrating, and the most calming. I am nowhere near empty because a little is a lot, but I would totally repurchase this for my am routine when I run out. $22 for 6oz, which is kind of a steal. — Oat So Simple Moisturizer: with oats and squalane, it’s hard to go wrong with this moisturizer. This moisturizer is perfect for my normal to oily skin for the day time, as it’s a water cream and not very thick. It boasts only NINE ingredients, so you can see just how important the oatmeal is to this product. It’s a very soothing and calming moisturizer, sinks in quickly, and neutralizes redness pretty fast. I will occasionally use an oil with this if my skin is dry, but this and the rest of my routine do a pretty good job at hydrating! It may not be enough for dry skin or skin that is prone to lots of environmental damage over the course of the day. This runs at $28, which I also think is a good deal, and I would repurchase it! — Hyaluronic Acid and Oat Overnight Recovery Mask: unfortunately, I do not like this product. The texture of it really throws me off, as it’s very moisturizer-but-balmy. When applied, it kind of streaks along my face and doesn’t sink in for a while, and doesn’t really add any hydration or soothing properties like the other two I’ve mentioned. It has more of a wash off mask feeling than an overnight, as it doesn’t dry. This is the first product I’ve tried with oats that doesn’t hold up! The full size runs about $30 (I have the mini at $17, gifted).
