So Do All Cleansing Balms Suck?
Cause this one sure did. I wear very waterproof mascara L'ORÉAL - Unlimited Length and Lift Waterproof Mascara

NEW IN: my skin care ritual just got fancy
ULTA had ELEMIS - Pro-Collagen Perfect Partners on sale and I just had to guys. I love Elemis products and have been dying to try these two products. I love cleansing balms. They are the best thing to remove waterproof makeup without stinging and irritating your eyes. Yes, micellar water works as well but I usually use it after to make sure everything is off . This cleansing balm is so luxurious and oh my word the smell is absolutely divine. The balm is based with rose and mimosa waxes and are infused with elderberry, starflower and optimega oils and supercharged with anti-aging algae, padina pavonica— a Mediterranean algae with proven outstanding anti-aging benefits. Some of my favorites are: CLINIQUE - Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm (works well but they test on animals) BANILA CO - Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm Original Then I met you - Living Cleansing Balm After cleansing, I follow up with my new favorite retinol alternative ingredient, Baluchiol in ACURE - Radically Rejuvenating Dual Phase Bakuchiol Serum . I use this twice a day before moisturizing for that extra bit of moisture and protection from free radicals. I have to be honest, I have not tried the cream. I’m sure it is divine but I’m currently half way through two creams and it seemed wasteful to open this one... and I wouldn’t really be giving it a good test run if I’m still using the others right!? I will update in a later post. What other cleansing balm should I try? Thank you. Be Kind, Stay Beautiful **Elemis, Banila Co, Then I met you are all 🐰cruelty free.
Hello friends! Hope you all had a restful and safe holiday season ☺️ I know I have been enjoying cooking, crafting, and of course, learning more and more about my skin every day! Here is my holiday haul, I will be posting more in depth reviews of each batch of things as I use them, so stay tuned! Some standouts I’m already in love with include: Mask spatulas | I’ve been wanting to get some of these things for such a long time, but I knew I needed to wait for Christmas because they’re a great stocking stuffer. I love that I don’t have to dirty my fingertips putting masks on anymore! FIRST AID BEAUTY - FAB Pharma Arnica Relief & Rescue Mask | I’ve gotten a couple of samples of this mask and never thought I liked it very much. FAB products used to give me an allergic reaction, so I’ve been hesitant to use them, but I used this mask on some healing blemishes I had and was really impressed to see them almost gone the next day! #Hero Cosmetics - Mighty Patch - Original[products]# | I am somewhat skeptical on the power of hydrocolloid patches, I do like them because they prevent me from picking… which I am very bad about…. Beyond these few, I’m super excited about the THE inkey LIST - Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA) Blemish + Blackhead Serum, Supergoop! - Superscreen Daily Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 40 PA+++, and BANILA CO - Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm Original! Stay tuned for reviews, I can’t wait to use these products!
Won’t be purchasing again
BURT’S BEES - Cleansing Oil with Coconut & Argan Oils I bought this product long time ago for two main reason: First, I like their products and second it says it’s all natural. It contains coconut and argon oil and it removes eye make up. However, I find it irritating for my eyes and I stopped using it. Won’t be purchasing it again. It’s not worth the money spend 👎🏼😞
My Adult Skincare
Hello all! I’m fairly new to the Cherie community and I’m loving all the tips and skincare products used to help others. At the beginning of this year closer to spring (March), my skin really broke out from the stress of facing a pandemic as an adult and my skin broke out immensely. So much so that I didn’t want to take photos of myself because my image is very important to me and I have grown up with acne since middle school where I didn’t like looking in the mirror that often. Recently my skin type has changed to dry/combo, I’d say that my T-zone, cheeks, and chin are slightly oily compared to when I was in high school. I’ve recently been following a few aestheticians to find my right skincare routine and I feel like I’m gradually getting there. I’ve stuck to this regimen since the end of summer 2019 and my face has changed, but after March, it drastically declined. I have seen positive results with the products I have been using for the last 3 months. I have very noticeable hyperpigmentation, discoloration, and dull skin. I have noticed some pilling that occurs with the alpha arbutin and niacinamide so I’m trying to figure out what products have silicone in it and to keep that out of my skincare in order for them to work together. I wish I did have a before photo, but this month has been good to my skin and I hope to continue sharing and learning with you all. ❤️ Morning Routine CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin dermalogica - Daily Microfoliant Exfoliator TRULY - CBD Jelly Toning Solution *Recently purchased * The Ordinary - Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA KOPARI - Coconut Water Moisture Face Cream *Recently purchased * CeraVe - AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 Nighttime Routine BURT’S BEES - Cleansing Oil with Coconut & Argan Oils LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Medicated Gel Cleanser for Acne Prone Skin *Recently purchased* HERITAGE STORE - Rosewater Facial Toner The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% DERMA•E - Skin De-Stress Calming CBD Moisturizer ACURE - Brightening Night Cream The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil Weekly Routine I DEW CARE - Cake My Day Hydrating Sprinkle Wash-Off Mask The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution
“FEEL-GOOD” MAKEUP LOOK
Although I’m staying at home all day and seeing no-one besides my boyfriend, I find that putting on some makeup helps me feel more put together and productive! Here is my “feel-good”/“cheer-me-up” routine for quarantine: 1) BRONZER NUDESTIX - Nudies All Over Face Color Bronze + Glow in Terracotta Tan This creamy bronzer is the perfect neutral shade that isn’t too warm or too cool-toned. It adds the perfect amount of color to my face and definitely minimizes any dullness in my skin. It’s pigmented but easily blendable for a flawless natural effect. 2) BLUSH NUDESTIX - Magnetic Plush Paint - Lip, Cheek & Eye Color in St. Tropez Blush always makes my skin look brighter and more radiant. It also just makes me look healthier! This multi-use product can also be used on the eyes and lips. It has a thin-consistency but blends out seamlessly without disrupting any base products underneath. 3) BROWS benefit - Double the Precision Brow Pencil Duo in 4 Brows define the face so adding a bit of color and thickness definitely helps to frame the face! It makes a huge difference- and this brow pencil is super skinny so you can simply fill in any “bald” spots and add a few strokes where you want more thickness and definition. 4) EYESHADOW ARMANI beauty - Eye Tint Liquid Eyeshadow in 23 I don’t want anything crazy but just a hint of color makes the eyes pop! I love this eye tint because it has a thin-consistency (just like the Nudestix Plush Paints) and applies sheer-but-buildable. I only apply this along my lashline and blend upwards for a soft shadowy look. 5) MASCARA L'ORÉAL - Unlimited Length and Lift Waterproof Mascara Mascara is SO important to me because it frames my eyes and makes my eyes look bigger and more awake! I love this mascara for lash definition but it doesn’t add too much volume. 6) LIP STAIN Glossier. - Generation G Sheer Matte Lipstick in Like For just a bit of added color to the lips, I love this lipstick for a stained effect. It’s a soft-matte lipstick that’s incredibly creamy but sheer and the shade is a perfect “MLBB” shade! 7) LIP GLOSS Too Faced - Lip Injection Extreme Lip Plumper The best “cheer-me-up” product is lip gloss. It just adds shine and makes my lips look and feel more pouty! This gloss is not sticky at all and has a tingling effect that plumps up your lips slightly.
HOW TO LOOK GLOWY & AWAKE✨
My everyday makeup look is always with the goal of looking radiant and glowy because it always makes me feel more put together and confident ✨ Here are my go-to tips for looking more awake! 1) Eyebrows frame the face! benefit - Precisely, My Brow Pencil Waterproof Eyebrow Definer in 4 benefit - Gimme Brow+ Volumizing Eyebrow Gel in 4 I always use a brow pencil and/or brow gel to fluff up my brows and add some color and more definition. 2) Concealer = bonus hours of sleep! ESTĒE LAUDER - Double Wear Radiant Concealer in 2W No matter what kept you up last night, concealer always hides the evidence! It’s always one of the first things I do when applying my makeup because it instantly brightens under my eyes. 3) Double-up on the mascara! L'ORÉAL - Unlimited Length and Lift Waterproof Mascara Mascara lengthens and volumizes lashes which allow them to be a focal point of your look. Longer, thicker lashes also help to open up the eyes and defining them. 4) Add some blush/bronzer! NUDESTIX - Nudies All Over Face Color Bronze + Glow in Salty Siren & Terracotta Tan Adding color to the face always makes you look more youthful and radiant. I love to go a little heavier on the blush when my face is looking a little dull. I’m currently not into highlighter- but highlighter adds lots of glow too (duh!) 5) Optional: Sparkle RÓEN - 75° Warm Eye Shadow Palette I love a sparkly inner-corner highlight because it brings light and attention to the eyes and definitely makes them look bigger and more awake! Not everyone loves glitter or sparkle, but even a soft glowy champagne or satin finish eyeshadow can do the trick!
Glowy and Rosy 🥀
My first (and maybe only?) post!! This quarantine has sent me spiraling into a deep makeup/skincare phase, which is something I haven’t really had time for before. In the past, it’s been either no makeup or just the basics and my skincare “routine”was absolute garbage and basically nonexistent (pretty much JUST apricot scrub). 🤢🤮 Recently, I’ve been playing around with some new looks and I really liked this one. Not perfect but it’s definitely a start right? One thing I’ve learned is that good makeup starts with skincare, so I started with Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser and generic witch hazel as a toner. Then, CRÈME DE skin NUTRITIONS - Hyaluronic Acid 1% & Vitamin C Serumfrom the DOLLAR TREE. I’m no expert, but this product works pretty well for me and, for $1, I won’t complain. For my under eye bags, I use CeraVe - Eye Repair Cream and then to moisturize I use Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer which I think is awesome. I tend to get little pimples in the little creases beside my nose, so I use this Salicylic acid spot treatment from Almay that I got on the cheap at Big Lots. I do think it works well (side note: don’t worry, I didn’t let it mix with my hyaluronic acid!) and normally it isn’t an issue because I don’t wear foundation/concealer regularly, but I found that it did NOT play nicely with my foundation and created weird paste that was hard to remove so 👁 beware 👁 I used e.l.f. - Poreless Putty Primer followed by COVERGIRL - Clean Fresh Skin Milk Foundation . I think the product smells great and matches my skin almost suspiciously well, but it’s definitely very sheer coverage. My bronzer is PHYSICIANS FORMULA - Murumuru Butter Bronzer in Light (which also smells amazing) and my blush is MILANI - Rose Powder Blush in Romantic Rose. Oops I forgot highlighter but if I hadn’t I’d be wearing one from E.L.F. that my mom got me for Christmas that I don’t think they make anymore. No comment on that one because it’s the only highlighter I’ve ever used and it’s probably fine but tbh I wouldn’t know. Any suggestions on a new highlighter once I run out would be greatly appreciated!! On my eyes is NOTe.l.f. - Rose Gold Eyeshadow Palettebut in fact a smaller, very similar palette *also from the Dollar Store* that cannot find on this app. My mascara is the classic pink and green MAYBELLINE - Great Lash Waterproof Mascara For my lips I used an E.L.F. lip liner pencil also from the Dollar Store, ALSO which I cannot find in here (ooh a trend). My lipstick is L'ORÉAL - Colour Riche Lipcolour in Cinnamon Toast and that is all!

Whose guilty of buying the same products over and over again? I am! As someone who has suffered from eczema for years, Cerave face wash ($10.49) has seemed to be the only answer to my problems. What other face wash is simple and clean? After years of using expensive cleanser that I wasn't too sure if it did anything for my skin, I switched to the CeraVe Foaming Facial cleanser for my AM and PM skin routine. It's light and does a great job or getting out the day's dirt and grime from your face. The foam is a nice plus. As for the Real Techniques beauty blender ($5.99), I switched after continuing to tear my Beauty Blender and rolling my eyes as I went to Sephora to repurchase. This blender is a more than a third cheaper, a lot sturdier, and amazing at applying foundation or concealer like a second skin. I prefer it ten fold over the Beauty Blender and will never go back. But who loves a sharp precise brow?! I do and so does Anastasia Beverly Hills! The Dipbrow ($18) along with her #12 precision brow brush ($18) allows you all to perfect a brow that snatches souls. Don't forget to finish off your look with one of my all time faves from amazon Sacha Buttercup ($24.95) to set your entire look and get ready for your red carpet entrance. Once the night is over, don't forget to use another one of my faves Clinique Take the day off makeup remover ($19.50). I love this makeup remover and I have been using it for years. TBH it's the only one I use. It works magically well removing my eye makeup. It's very gentle and doesn't sting if gotten in my eye. They also have a travel size of 50ml which fits perfectly in my makeup bag. HIGHLY recommend!

Natural makeup look
Unless I am going to some type of event, I usually stick to a more natural makeup look that doesn’t take much effort. First, I just follow my normal morning skincare routine: •Washing my face with CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser •Next I putCeraVe - Skin Renewing Vitamin C Serum on my face and neck. •I follow that with LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Ultra Face Moisturizer for Sensitive Skin on my face and neck. • Next I putCeraVe - Eye Repair Cream under my eyes. •Lastly, I use CeraVe - Face Sheer Tint Hydrating Sunscreen SPF 30 on my face and neck, which will act as a primer. *Note: This is my every day routine, so if you want to skip it and just use a moisturizer and primer/ sunscreen that will work.* Next, I begin to apply the makeup. •I used to use ANASTASIA Beverly Hills - Brow Wiz Mechanical Brow Pencil in “Medium brown” but I recently switched to NYX - Micro Brow Pencil in “Auburn” which is literally like the same thing but much more affordable. •I will then put Too Faced - Born This Way Super Coverage Multi-Use Concealer in shade “Nude” ONLY on my blemishes, and let it sit for a couple minutes before blending. -I spray my beauty blender withPETER THOMAS ROTH - Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Hydrating Toner Mist to prevent any unwanted crustiness or creasing, then blend out where I put the concealer. •I then put a light layer of MAYBELLINE - Fit Me Matte + Poreless Powder in “Buff beige” on my whole face. •Next I use MAYBELLINE - Fit Me Blush in “Nude” on my cheekbones and nose. •For my lips I use NYX - Suede Matte Lip Liner in “Mauve” and NYX - Butter Gloss in “Tiramisu” and blot my lips. •I finish off by spraying MAC - Prep + Prime Fix+ Primer and Setting Spray Matte Finish lightly on my face. *Note: I get my lashes done, but I would suggest either putting on mascara or using falsies.*

Korean Cleansing Oil & Powder SPF!
Over the weekend, I got myself some new goodies 🛍🛍 Here’s my first impressions: PURITO - From Green Cleansing Oil Sooo ever since we got sent back home in March, I have barely been wearing makeup. Before corona, I had still been using makeup wipes (I know, awful). I told myself once I ran out of those wipes I’d pick up something that wouldn’t tear up my precious skin & harm the environment. So here we are! I’ve only used it once so far but combined with Neutrogena - Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser it did a fabulous job removing my makeup. Also, the next day I swear my skin looked so nice & felt so smooth! I got this from Stylevana for $22.73 including shipping & with a discount. For a product coming all the way from Asia, it came pretty quickly! Oh and it came with a free gift of a cute skincare headband with cat ears. PHYSICIANS FORMULA - Mineral Wear Talc-Free Mineral Airbrushing Pressed Powder SPF 30 I picked this up quickly on the way to stay with my friend for the weekend who lives near a beach. I wanted powder SPF so that I could reapply SPF during our beach day and so that it would help with the crazy amount of shine I usually experience while at the beach. We didn’t end up going to the beach but I did use it mattify my skin when I wasn’t wearing any makeup & I didn’t have any problems with it. The only thing is I don’t really like the brush it comes with because if I wanted to put it over makeup it wouldn’t go on so smoothly. Let me know if you’ve ever used this product over makeup! I got this at target for $14.89. PS if anyone is looking for a discount for Stylevana, they give out referral codes! Let me know down below & I can hook you up 🤗

DIY TINTED MOISTURIZER
In the summer I like to keep my makeup light so i usually will just wear foundation, fill in my brows and put on some gloss. Because I’m out in the sun more I mix my foundation with a moisturizer with SPF so that I can get UV protection and coverage. I use CeraVe - AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 . I use one part moisturizer and 2 parts foundation and mix together. This ratio doesn’t change the color at all or the consistency of the foundation. I found that if i put more moisturizer it effects the coverage and I have to apply more product. Using these products together gives me a dewy glow. I use LANCÔME - Teint Idole Ultra Long Wear Foundation . This foundation is full coverage and has a thicker consistency so using this with my moisturizer doesn’t make the texture runny or thin. I’ve used this method on my other full coverage foundations and have had a similar result. #CheriePartner
