STOP THE ITCH IN A PROTECTIVE STYLE

STOP THE ITCH IN A PROTECTIVE STYLE

We’ve all been there. That itch in a protective style can be one of the most annoying things to deal with! Luckily, there are solutions THAT WORK. The first is good old apple cider vinegar! What can’t apple cider vinegar do?!? But seriously, it works wonders if you are allergic to the substance that most hair companies use to coat the hair. That coating they use is a known ALKALINE irritant, meaning that it has a high ph that doesn’t mix well with the low ph of our scalp. The reason why ACV works to fix this is because it is acidic (with a low ph) and combats the high ph of the coating on your braiding hair! BRAGG - Organic Apple Cider Vinegar
The second and third product solutions are for solving itch that is unrelated to the hair you are using. Your hair just might by DRY, or growing FUNGAL DANDRUFF if you aren’t washing it frequently. Any product with tea tree oil like this one from Essations can reduce fungal dandruff because tea tree oil has ANTI BACTERIAL properties and can kill the scalp fungus that is causing dandruff leading to that ITCH! If you scalp is dry you can use any oil- tea tree works great, or grease! Good old Blue Magic Grease, used after spraying your hair with water to lock in that moisture, works wonders for dry scalp that could be the cause of your itch!

My favorite clarifying hair mask?
I have a hair ritual that I’ve been doing for a couple of months. Since about April I’ve been using a clarifying mask on my hair, one that most people use on their face. The mask? AZTEC SECRET - Indian Healing Clay I’m in love with it to say the least. It defines my curls and cleanses all the dirt and grime from my hair. I have low porosity hair so I am no stranger to hair build up. Last week I had done a twist out on my hair and the conditioner I used was HORRIBLE in my hair. It kind of balled up into this bumpy residue and it made me not even want to touch my hair. I applied this mask to my hair and it was like I had brand new hair. To make my hair mask i use: however much Aztec clay I think I’ll need a combination of hair oils to make the mask smell better and also for added hair benefits (or so I think) DOO GRO - Mega Thick Hair Oil AFRiCAN PRIDE - Hair Growth Oil I put in my Apple cider vinegar before the hair oils BRAGG - Organic Apple Cider Vinegar I mix everything up, split my hair in four sections, wet each section individually and apply the hair mask

testing out my Sweet chef trio set box
so I tried my sweet chef products last night and I love them so much I’ve never tried the moisturizer or the E vitamin a serum and I am so impressed how much it has treated my skin overnight. I use the vitamin B serum last night before bed and I used it this morning when I woke up to give that boost of energy to my skin and my skin has been really hydrated and well treated by The moisturizer in the serum, I use the moisturizer last night before bed as well and they all smell really good you can really smell that super food plan which I love if you’re looking for a great superfood product that helps repair your skin this stuff is amazing!!! of course I knew sweet shack is going to be great because I already use the ginger serum before but now I just want to get the bigger value size products it’s really great to get the small samples just to try out see if you like them and then you can upgrade to a bigger size they also have other awesome products to treat your skin to 😊 also I add the apple cider vinegar to my skin care routine but I only use that when I start getting pimples due to wearing my mask all the time so if you’re also looking for a really great product to help with maskne apple cider vinegar is the way to go it has helped treat my pimples and also help with scarring, so I just add some water and a splash of apple cider vinegar BRAGG - Organic Apple Cider Vinegar reason why I add water is to help dilute the vinegar because the vinegar is super strong although it’s very good for your skin it’s helpful to add some water so that your skin doesn’t react some type of way to the vinegar, like burning, or drying out your skin so it’s just best to use water I put water in it all the time when I do use it and I’ve never had any problems of my skin burning or drying out I always put moisturizer on right away after I use it

Hello🤍:) (WARNING: real life talk) (Nervous about posting this but I feel like more people should know 💕please don’t hate or leave mean comments) So I know what you guys are thinking but give me a chance here😹I know this is for makeup and skincare and hair products etc BUT I NEED to share this. Ladies, periods are real. And so is garbage on the earth. Worldwide, 100 billion used menstrual products fill up earths landfills. :( poor Earth. And I’m glad that I no longer contribute to that. This year I switched over to a menstrual cup. I did plenty of research and watched plenty of videos. The reason is because pads and tampons irritate me, and I wanted to try something new so I went on a hunt. That’s when I came across menstrual cups. I’ve heard about them before but never cared to look into it because I thought it was gross. Boy was I wrong. Anywho, so I ended up taking a quiz and I answered a few questions online and the Saalt cup is the one that this website picked out for me based on the questions I answered. Keep in mind that there are plenty of different brands with plenty of different shapes and sizes for what is perfect for you. You do have to keep these very clean and I mean VERY sanitary. While on my cycle I boiled it every single day and of course I washed it with a mild soap and warm water if I had to change it during the day. To use these you definitely have to be comfortable with your body and not afraid of blood. At the end of the day it’s your body and you should be proud of it :) Most brands provide you with a little baggie to keep your cup in after you clean it to take with you in your purse or to just store in order to keep it sanitary. Also just a little note, if you have long acrylic nails or just long nails in general, this might not be the thing for you. Because you don’t want to get any bacteria under your nails. I grew up a nailbiter so I naturally have very very short nails. Also think about how much money you’ll be saving on period products because those really add up :) NOTE: there is a learning curve. A lot of women talk about it being very difficult for them for a while but once they got the hang of it it was like a piece of cake 🍰. For me I didn’t really have a learning curve I kind of got lucky with understanding the whole thing on the first go :) Thank you for reading. If you are actually considering getting one, YouTube will be your best friend to answer any questions about these. So many women and girls do so many different reviews on different cups. And it really helps :) 🤍 Saalt in particular is made in the USA 🥳 so that’s a plus! And the packaging is really classy as well. But again, pick the brand and shape best for you ❣️ (Especially with the covid-19 situation going on, stores are all on low supply of items, including pads and tampons) #Saalt Company - Saalt Menstrual Cup[products]#[FiveStars]

Going Makeup Free in Quarantine = Happy Skin!
Going Makeup Free in Quarantine = Happy Skin!
The past four months have been full of change for all of us and the biggest shift has involved staying home and inside more often. With all my time spent at home, I’ve found myself letting my skin breathe and forgoing my old daily makeup routine of concealer, powder, and blush. Although this wasn’t initially done for the health of my skin in mind more than it was inspired by the fact that I was just spending all my time in bed, this break has ended up working wonders for my skin and my appreciation for being bare-faced! I used to struggle with spots on my cheeks and on my forehead quite often. Not only has my skin calmed down and cleared up, I’ve realized how much more comfortable I feel embracing my natural skin on a daily basis! This photo of me without makeup was taken last week after a month of going makeup free. I still love my makeup and will occasionally get done up for fun, but it’s been wonderful for both my skin and my comfort with it to just let it breathe. ♥️ I’d love to know if anyone else has been feeling the same!

A tip for your beautiful hair
A tip for your beautiful hair
For almost two decades I have been towel drying my hair, I just followed my mom and sister. My hair was always so frizzy and all over the place. And my baby hairs would look so messy and my hair wont look in a good shape 😞. For the past few months I switched from a towel to a scarf to dry my hair. I tried a cotton t shirt first and then the scarf. With the scarf I can just tie my hair up and do some chores while the water soaks in. I’ve noticed my hair is barely frizzy. Its more silky and softer, my baby hair stay where they should be 🤗😍. It does take longer to dry, so if you’re in a rush blow dry after. But I try to avoid heat as much as I can so this works great ❤️❤️. #haircare#haircaretips
