MY 2020 FAVS 🌟🌟
2020 was my year for amping my skincare journey up to the next level! I found so many amazing products, and some that just didn’t make the cut, but here are some of my favs from 2020 that I’m bringing into 2021 with me ☺️ CeraVe - Renewing SA Cleanser For Normal Skin i’ve talked about this one on my page before but it’s the best cleanser that I have ever tried ! the ingredients are packed full with skin treating ingredients such as niacinamide, salicylic acid and ceramids. it’s super hydrating, yet really gets the job done of cleansing my face and helping with present and future acne. DHC - Deep Cleansing Oil if you don’t double cleanse, here is your sign to start! I have combo skin with large pores that are my worst nemesis. now I am not saying this gets rid of your pores (that’s unfortunately impossible), but it pulls out oil plugs, removes dirt, makeup and anything on your face from the day. this is my most satisfying step of my nightly routine and I know that i’ll be oil cleansing for the long run. PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator I think i’ve probably talked about this product maybe 10 times on my account, so that’s saying something about how great it is!! it’s such a gentle yet strong exfoliator that has helped my hormonal acne, uneven skin tone and reduced my redness and irritation. it’s packed with a punch and is an all round holy grail of mine. The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution this one for me almost does the same trick as the paula’s choice 2% bha exfoliant, but it’s definitely a lot stronger. I love doing this once a week as a little recharge for my skin. another pro with this product is that a little goes a long way, so it lasts a long time! THE inkey LIST - Retinol Serum you could call me a retinol newbie as I just got into it recently. since I just started, this one has been amazing! as it’s not good to start out with a strong retinol, I definitely recommend this one! it’s helped so much with my skin in terms of uneven skin tone, acne, and I think my blackheads are slowly decreasing. peach slices - Snail Rescue Blemish Busting Toner day and night I use this and I love it ! it’s super duper gentle, yet is such a great toner. this is my first product i’ve used which includes snail mucin, but i’m digging it!! it’s helped so much with irritation and redness, as well as aiding present pimples, and preventing future ones. innisfree - Daily UV Defense Sunscreen SPF 36 the first proper face sunscreen that I have purchased! it doesn’t have a strong SPF smell and not too much white cast at all. I may be trying another SPF soon just to compare, but so far so good with this one! OLE HENRIKSEN - Banana Bright Eye Crème I love it ! amazing smell, texture & has a nice tint to it to help reduce dark circles!
How I Built an Entire Routine for Under $150
For a long time I was intimated by skincare because it seemed very expensive and overwhelming. How do I know what to buy 🤷🏻♀️ When I started noticing wrinkles that was enough of a push for me to invest in skincare. Here’s some great lessons I’ve learned to build your skincare routine affordably: 1. Research to figure out what you need- here’s where my love of @cheriestarted! I read lots of reviews, advice, so I knew what type of products I should buy and what ingredients I should focus on. 2. Keep it Simple It’s easy to want to buy new products, adding new steps or ingredients to your routine, or try out the hype after reading reviews! Focus on your concerns and add slowly to give your skin time to adjust and see what’s working. It’s better to have a few great products that you love than many products you don’t use. I started with: Cleanse AM antioxidant serum, PM anti-aging serum Moisturizer Sunscreen Toners, eye cream, facial oil, and masks can be extras if you are looking to save money 3. Spend your money on the middle - if you can only splurge on one product make it the serum! This has the most benefit. Drugstore cleansers, moisturizers, and spf are great! 4. Try some great affordable brands such as The Ordinary, The Inkey List, Versed, or CeraVe 5. Buy trial size first, Value Sets or better free rewards before investing in a new product 6. Once you’ve found your Holy Grails keep your eyes open for sales to stock up, join the brands mailing list or reward program, buy value size Here’s my current skincare line-up and how much it cost me: CLINIQUE - Jumbo Liquid Facial Soap Mild Use AM & PM Bought on sale for $27 for 13.5oz CLINIQUE - Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm Use PM Free from Clinique rewards pixi - Glow Tonic pixi - Milky Tonic Rotate PM Bought multi-pack on sale for $22 OLE HENRIKSEN - Banana Bright Eye Crème Use AM and / or PM Bought on sale $25 The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 Use AM $6.80 VERSED - STROKE OF BRILLIANCE Brightening Serum Use AM $26.99 OLAY - Wrinkle Correction Serum with Vitamin B3+ Collagen Peptides Use PM Bought on sale for $32 BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Lactic Acid Resurfacing Night Serum Use PM 1-2 times per week Free from Sephora Rewards Bazaar CLINIQUE - Moisture Surge 72-Hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator Use AM & PM Free gift with purchase from Clinique CAUDALIE - Vinoperfect Instant Brightening Moisturizer Use PM when not using lactic acid Free offer with purchase from Sephora The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil Use PM $9.90 (Not pictured) currently using my kids Banana Boat Kids Simply Protect SPF 50 as my sunscreen
Ingredient spotlight: Vitamin C
Now a days you can take your pick of products from most common serums, essences, moisturizer, toners and even in primers and other types of make up. It is just one of those powerful ingredients that are great for all skin types. If you want glows skin, there’s a super ingredient that you should add to your skincare regimen, Vitamin C. Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that protects your skin from free radicals and all environmental aggressors. Layered a serum or a moisturizer with this powerful ingredients under a sunblock, it will give you double the protection. Vitamin C also helps with lightening any dark spots you already have, by reducing “the activity of the enzyme that leads to the production of pigment, but it also addresses the existing discoloration,” —Dr Dennis Gross. Obviously, over the counter serums and tonics will not work as well as a prescription with hydroquinone or Retin-A at erasing scars and spots, but it will help even and brighten your skin overall. According to Dr. Gross during his interview with Self.com, when shopping for a Vitamin C to boost your skin routine, look for keywords like L-ascorbic acid and sodium ascorbyl phosphate (which are both water soluble), as well as ascorbyl palmitate and tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate (which are lipid soluble), on the ingredients list. Because skin is consist of both lipid and watery layers, the perfect product/ product that has the best absorption will have a balanced mix of fat-soluble and water-soluble ingredients. Disclaimer: please use vitamin c responsibly. With everything in life, too much of a good thing is a bad thing. So find your balance. Please note, I do not use the combination of these products in one day or everyday. LUMENE - Nordic-C Glow Boost Essence Serum 30ml $12-$25 depends on size and retail. Based with pure artic spring water and two types o hyaluronic acids this serum is super emollient and hydrating. Love love love how gentle this formula is. LUMENE - Nordic C Valo Glow Lumenessence Brightening Beauty Lotion $14-$18 A gorgeous lightweight toning essence with pure artic water, hyaluronic acids and vitamin c rich berry complex. I love that it is gentle and not drying. bliss - Bright Idea Vitamin C + Tri-Peptide Collagen Protecting & Brightening Moisturizer $21-$24. This has been my day/ night cream depending on my mood and what serums I’m using. Sinks in the skin well and has great texture. OLE HENRIKSEN - Banana Bright Face Primer $38. A gorgeous and luminous primer for all skin types. I love how youthful it makes my skin looks — a Dewey glow without being oily. #Meebak - Vitamin C & Cica Serum[products]#[FiveStars] $24. Banana Bright face primer Review
The @olehenriksen banana bright face primer✨ This primer has a very subtle glow. I used it underneath my medium coverage @marcjacobsbeauty shameless foundation, the finish was beautiful. If you like that dewy wet glow, this is definitely for you. The foundation lasted relatively well during the day, didn’t move or wear off. If you have an oily T zone, I advise you to wear a pore filling primer where needed. The banana primer exaggerated the appearance of my pores and didn’t compliment my complexion when I wore it alone. It was more shiny than dewy. when I used it underneath my full coverage @fentybeauty foundation, it added a tiny bit of luminosity to my skin, but didn’t look nearly as good as under the shameless foundation. If you’re a full coverage person, i advice you to mix one pump of the banana primer with your foundation. Doing so makes a noticeable difference in your skin’s overall radiance. Pro tip: use your fingers and apply some of the primer on the high points of your face. It’s the only highlighter you’ll ever need for a subtle healthy looking glow. This product smells like the truth serum. If you’re sensitive to that scent, you might want to sample it before purchasing it. Otherwise, it blends well with the fragrances present in my other face products. OLE HENRIKSEN - Banana Bright Face Primer

The gift of good skin!
For Christmas, I made my sister a new skincare routine! She has combo acne prone skin with some sensitivity and redness, she also complained of some dark circles around her eyes. She currently uses terrible products and is pretty lazy when it comes to skincare so she doesn’t even wash her face everyday! I tried to design something simple, affordable, and easy to keep up with (e.g. mostly drug store products) but also an effective starting point for her skin needs! How did I do? PHAT mask Review
I’m so impressed with the olehenriksen PHAT glow facial mask. I Massage it into my skin until the pink clay changes colour to white, leave it on for about 20 minutes and rinse it off. I’ve been using this mask twice a week for almost two months now and I already have anotOLE HENRIKSEN - PHAT Glow Facial Mask her one in my sephoracanada cart ready to order. It makes my skin brighter and incredibly soft without any redness, irritation or dryness. The only downside for me is the fragrance/scent of the product, I prefer my skincare to have a lighter/less overwhelming fragrance in it. But since it’s not a leave on product but a mask that showed so much promise, I was able to look the other way.OLE HENRIKSEN - PHAT Glow Facial Mask

PHAT Glow Facial makes my skin Glow like never before! I love using Banana Bright before putting on any makeup and I also wear it alone on days that I don’t feel like having a full face of makeup. Beautiful, clean products
I had heard great things about @kpsesse and now I know it’s for good reason. They sent me 3 products to review: •Their Hydralux Spf 15 primer is great under makeup. It is designed to rebuild your skin’s natural moisture barrier. My skin is very dry so I need to use a moisturizer under it. •The Probiotic Toner is my favorite. It revives dull skin and removes impurities without stripping your skin. •The Antioxidant Eye Serum contains vitamin A, which helps diminish fine lines and crows’ feet. I have been using it in my night routine. It is gentle and effective. Besides having wonderful products, KPS Essentials uses organic, food grade ingredients. They do not use fillers, fragrance, or parabens. Additionally, they donate a portion of their proceeds to Hello Gorgeous, an organization that supports women fighting cancer. *gifted but love is real
1 MIN REVIEW. 🌟Charlotte Tilbury Goddess skin clay mask🌟 What is it? A non drying clay mask. Contains Spanish clay to draw impurity’s out the skin and almond and rosehip oil to strengthen and hydrate the skin. Does it work? Meh, it’s definitely hydrating. I use this as a lip mask to plump and hydrate my lips before I apply Matt lipstick, as far as Clay masks go this is pretty tame. I didn’t notice any difference in skin congestion and It did not leave me with a ‘lit from within glow’ 🌧 If you don’t like the drying feeling of regular clay masks you will enjoy using this it’s very comfortable to wear, rinsed easily and doesn’t leave your Skin feeling dry or tight. I won’t repurchase though, there are much more affective and cheaper clay masks available.

Ole Henriksen Favorites 🧡
I have been a fan of Ole Henriksen for awhile but really was only able to base that opinion off of the two products I had tried – the Cold Plunge Pore Mask and Glow2OH Dark Spot Toner. Both of those products have worked so well for me and are ones I will be repurchasing. Because of my good luck with those products I decided to branch out and try more. I purchased a holiday kit from them awhile back that came with a full size Truth Serum and deluxe sizes of the Banana Bright Eye Cream, Banana Bright Face Primer and C-Rush Brightening Gel Crème. You guys – as I’ve been using these products, my love for Ole Henrikson has been solidified. The eye cream is a game changer in my opinion – it truly does brighten up the dark circles under my eyes, is so hydrating, and lays perfectly under my concealer (NO piling!) I keep it in my skincare fridge which makes it so soothing to apply in the morning and helps wake me up. Same goes for the face primer - it brightens up my skin, is very hydrating, and works great under my makeup. Both of these products were huge winners for me and ones that I will definitely repurchase in full sizes once my babies run out. I also have really been enjoying the C-Rush Gel Crème – the texture takes a little bit of getting used to – it very much feels like a very thick, solidified gel, but I think it works great and smells like citrus. Full disclosure – I haven’t tried the Truth Serum yet. I’m currently using my holy grail C-Firma but plan to start using this once that runs out. I am so happy that I got this set (unfortunately I think it was a holiday release and isn’t available anymore) and I am DEFINITELY going to get more from the brand in the future. What Ole Henrikson product do you recommend I try next?
I really wanted to talk about some of these things 🙂 - supergoop acai fusion lip balm: I had a $10 Sephora gift card so I decided I’d try it out (big fan of Supergoop as you all know!). I haven’t used it yet but I’m looking forward to it after having such positive experiences with everything else of theirs that I’ve tried. The Everyday Sunscreen for example 😉 - staywellkept screen cleansing towelettes: Omg I cant get enough of these. I have a pack by my bed, in like 2 of my bags and on my vanity. I use these for everything from wiping down my laptop and phone screen to wiping my glasses and even for wiping down products before I photograph them. They don’t leave any type of streaks and get all the dirt and germs off. - incredible iridescent jelly & loose pigment: I was nervous to use these at first because I’ve never really used something so liquidy and on the other hand, never used a loose powder. I’m still experimenting with these but they’re multi-use and I can’t deny how gorgeous they are. - youthtothepeople dream mask: still testing this out but every time I wake up after using this my skin is never dull! I use it like twice a week. Liking how creamy and kind of fluffy it is, goes on really nicely ❤️ - aquishair turban in tangerine sunrise: OK I won’t go so in depth about this hair turban because I literally talk about it every week... lol but this color is so nice 😍 - drbarbarasturm brightening serum: I just started testing this out, so far no complaints! I love how smooth it feels. The texture is similar to the Glow Drops.
