Ingredient you need to know pt.1
Let’s start with Niacinamide: Skin concerns that this can help : sensitivity, pores, acne, hyperpigmentation and redness What it works well with: • retinoids • N-Acetyl Glucosamine Key Benefits: Anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, regulates sebum production, increases elasticity, increases toleration to retinoids, increases ceramide productions, targets hyperpigmentation, improves enlarged pores, boosts collagen production, reduces ache lesion. It helps with a lot more there is too many to name How it works with different skin concerns: •Barrier boosting : increases ceramide and free fatty acid levels in the stratum corneum • Anti-acne: reduces sebum production and acts as a anti inflammatory agent • Hyperpigmentation: inhibits melanosome transfer from melanocytes to keratinocytes. The Old and the New... Serum edition
The Old and the New... Serums for hyperpigmentation/texture edition The Old: The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% This serum had more of a creamy moisturizer consistency, with a bit of a silicon-like feel. I know the texture is a turn off for some, but I actually liked it. Azelaic Acid brightens the skin tone while visibly improving skin texture and reducing the look of blemishes. It is a multi-functional support ingredient that also acts as an effective antioxidant. The new: GOOD MOLECULES - Discoloration Correcting Serum The main ingredient of this serum is tranexamic acid. It is also formulated with 4% niacinamide. This serum claims to improves the appearance of age spots, acne scars, hyperpigmentation, and sun damage. I’ve only used it twice, so not enough to give a review but I can say the packaging is not awesome. It is in a dropper bottle, except the dropper doesn’t work.
So I thought I would do a skin update. All the products I’ve been using have been tagged in the first photo. I’ve started this new regime a while back when my acne got really bad after I tried oil cleansing. And it’s been a long and difficult road since then and I noticed my skins needs have changed a little bit so I decided to update my routine. I have combination skin and the skin on my forehead is really dry and so is the area around my mouth but my nose and my cheeks are super oily. So I’ve decided to start usingThe Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5to help combat this as well as The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oilto further hydrate my skin. I also need a new sunscreen because I wasn’t a fan of the Neutrogena ultra sheer. The sunscreen would take a really long time to rub it in and if I got the sunscreen on my eyebrows or any of my hair it would turn white and flake, which wasn’t fun. So I’ve decided to try the Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Water Gel Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30. I’ve also started icing my face recently and I’ve noticed that it helps reduce inflammation from acne. And I’ve also noticed that my facial features have become a little bit more defined but only when I ice my face consistently. While I don’t have much acne around my cheeks anymore, i’ve noticed that I keep getting acne in my upper lip area in the same spots. Although I still don’t know exactly what’s causing this acne I did read that certain toothpaste can contain sodium lauryl sulfate, which can clog pores if you get toothpaste on your skin. So I’ve become hyper aware of toothpaste getting on my skin when I brush my teeth now but I haven’t been paying attention long enough to notice a difference yet. And because of the consistent acne around my lips I have hyper pigmentation and that area is kind of getting dark now. I’m using vitamin C and Azelic acid to treat the hyper pigmentation but I’m not seeing results as fast as I would like. Does anyone know of a way to get faster results or how to treat it more effectively?

Skin update! Swipe right for progress!
Hey beauties! Just here to touch base again and show you guys how my skin has been doing. As I stated in my last post I did have a little flare up and didn’t know what was causing it since so many things had changed. (I added new products, that time of the month, and I stopped my doxycycline) I am still faithfully using CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin as my one and only cleanser and I truly love it! Still leaves my face feeling clean without that dry feeling. My The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% bottle fell and broke😭 so I have to purchase another one. But I have not been using for the past week so I wanted to keep it transparent with yall! I decided to treat myself to a facial (thanks to my bf for getting it for me 🥰) the medical dermatologist first did some dermaplaning, which is the concept of using a sharp blade to remove peach fuzz, hair, and the top layer of dead cells. It is always advised to have a professional do such procedure because you can cut yourself or spread bacteria. She did a few extractions and followed with an almond cherry mask that smelt like a cherry now and later. She recommended I use an exfoliant after I told her my regimen and recommended ZO SKIN HEALTH - Exfoliating Polish every other day starting tomorrow. I will keep posting weekly updates to show you how its working out! Morning ☀️ CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin CeraVe - Skin Renewing Vitamin C Serum Night 🌙 CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin CeraVe - SA Lotion For Rough & Bumpy Skin CeraVe - SA Lotion For Rough & Bumpy Skin Thank you to all who have been following me on my journey and cheering for me for the past month you guys are great and you keep me motivated to keep pushing forward 🥰🥰🥰🥰
oily skin & don’t know how to manage? I got you
this post is for all the people who have oily skin and sometimes just don’t know how to deal with it! well i’m here for some tips! I have oily/combo skin and I’ve learnt some important info during my skincare journey that I would love to share with you all 🤗 1. still moisturise it is super important for people with oily skin to keep up with moisturising ! you may think that your skin is hydrated and doesn’t need any extra moisture, but it still really does. if you don’t moisturise, or use products to keep your skin hydrated, your skin can overcompensate with releasing it’s natural oils, which in hand, can make your skin more oily 2. don’t be afraid of oils whether this is oil cleansing or any certain type of oil (rosehip, squalane etc), don’t be hesitant to use these products just because of your skin type. for me, oils have made a huge difference to my skin, especially oil cleansing! one thing to remember with oil cleansing, is that oils attract oils, and therefore are oil soluble. products like this help to get rid of grease, blackheads etc and can be great for oily skin! 3. use products targeted for oily skin I know that this one is quite self explanatory, but here are some products that helped my oily skin become more manageable! - niacinamide. this ingredient is amazing for oily skin ! it helps to decrease oil production from within the skin. my fav product is NATURIUM - Niacinamide Serum 12% Plus Zinc 2% , but I also don’t mind The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% -exfoliation. now with this I don’t mean physical exfoliation, but chemical exfoliation! my favourite exfoliant has to be PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator this one is my HOLY GRAIL product of them all ! I have many posts on this product so be sure to check those out for an in depth description. - clay face masks. these are good for absorbing oil and giving your face a matte finish. some of my favs are PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Balancing Oil-Absorbing Mask AZTEC SECRET - Indian Healing Clay I hope this helps and if you have any questions, feel free to comment 🌟🥰
Not the perfect dupe - Ordinary’s Niacinamide
I originally used the Paula’s choice 10% Niacinamide booster and absolutely loved it! Instead of purchasing a $50 product I decided to purchase the The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% as a dupe for the Paula’s choice. I must start by saying that was a HUGE mistake. Before I get into my experience with this product. I have to mention that I did do my research before purchasing this product. I read many reviews stating that the Ordinary’s Niacinamide was better suited for oily skin, which I know now is very true (but I was still willing to give it a try). —————————————— My experience I began using this product about a month ago. I used it continuously every night after cleansing and toning for about a week. It did not irritate my skin at all, however it also didn’t do anything positive for my skin. A week into using the niacinamide nightly, I started to break out around my mouth. These breakouts left insane dark spots all over my chin and mouth area. I immediately stopped using it. ____________ Recommend 10% I would definitely not recommend this product to anyone with dry skin. I think this product is strictly made for people with oily skin, and from my personal experience I don’t think the 1% zinc suits dry skin. I will definitely be repurchasing the niacinamide from Paula’s choice!

Hello dolls 😍😍
I’m back and I know it took me a while to actually get a review in from my last post!!! So let’s get started dolls!! As you know I mention from my last post that I got 2 new products that I am trying out and let’s just say I like them so far and they have been doing a pretty good job with helping with my dark spots and blemishes. The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG I have been using this product and what I can say everybody use it differently. I have been using it on my dark spots and around my eye area and I must say it has help, the solution is very light weight and melts into my skin pretty well. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% let’s just say this product really does what it details with this product a little goes a long way just like the The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG it melts into skin very well and is very light on the skin. Also leaves a glow on the skin and give it a bouncy feel as well. I highly recommend this product if you have acne it helps control break outs! So guys this is a little inside of my review and yes I did get new products and I will give an update about them and FYI I am definitely gonna get the Fenty beauty products and can’t wait to try it!!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️

So you wanna try The Ord. niacin.+ zinc serum...
Here's what you should know before making the purchase. The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% is a fairly viscous, cloudy serum meant to tame blemishes and has been reported to also clear scars and general unevenness in your skin. However, there's one thing you might NOT have read about amongst the thousands of reviews claiming to either love the product or bash it for being something of a scam. I'm here to tell you that TO niacinamide serum is a great product for acne prone or uneven skin, but with one caveat. Because it rejuvenates your skin and rebuilds the cells from the inside out, before you see the results of the serum there will be what is called a "purge" effect the first week or so of using the serum. You see, breakouts and pimples are already within the skin days before they emerge on the surface. They build and build until finally being pushed outward and leaving those nasty zits on your face. And when you start rebuilding the skin, *all* the acne is pushed outward, giving you the impression that it was the serum making you break out. And while this is technically true, in the long run, your skin will thank you. So if you do decide to buy one of my personal favorite serums (which you totally should), don't freak out when you break out! It's all part of the plan 😎

Ordinary Niacinamide made me break out. 😫🥺
-peep my son getting in the picture lol- -Thanks for reading me in advance- As I commented before I bought some The Ordinary products to try them out. After a week of applying them according to the directions I found out some new breakouts appearing from no where. 😯 I was like “whooop” 😳🤭 This needs to be fixed. After using the products separately once again, I found that the Peeling solution and the Hyaluronic acid do good to my skin, BUTT when it was the day for the Niacinamide I saw that during the day I got three white pimples, and then during the night another 2 came out. Okay, this wasn’t normal. I decided to eliminate it from my routine. After erasing Niacinamide acid from my face, she has been responding very well, I guess I just need an extra of hydration and some spot treatment and that’s it. Everyone is different, everyone might have a different reaction to this product. Sadly, I was too happy to try it out, and I ended up disappointed. 😖 Well, these things happen. The good thing is that I learn to caught products that give to my skin sudden problems because of you guys. 🤗 As you can see MY VOLCANOES ARE GONEEEE. 👏🏻😃 So the ordinary products work, just this one my skin was not liking his attitude lol. 🤷🏻♀️ THANK YOU FOR READING ME. Have a blessed day. ❤️ The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%

My Holy Grail for Adult & Hormonal Acne
I’m super excited to start recording and sharing my skin care journey. I’ve loved skincare since my teens and have always enjoyed trying new products, but being acne prone and having sensitive skin, trying new stuff hasn’t always been super thrilling! Now that I’m learning more about some great brands (that sadly weren’t around when I was a teen) I’m excited to branch out and try some more that will work for my skin. I have combination and sensitive skin that really changes with the weather. It’s really dry where I live, so even though my skin is prone to oiliness, it often has dry patches and even damage from the dry, winter air. One problem I’ve been having for the past year or two is adult hormonal acne around my jawline. Spot treatments were effective for pimples with a head, but I could not get rid of the bumps that started forming under my skin along my jaw. Not only were they not going away, but more were appearing. Then came The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I’m not going to lie, I didn’t understand how to use this at first. I thought it was for pimples and it would get rid of my breakouts. I tried it a couple times and felt like it didn’t do anything and there it sat on my shelf for months. But one day, when I was at a total loss with these bumps under my skin, I decided to spread some of this serum all over my jawline before bed. The next morning, 75% of the bumps were gone! My skin was so irritated and it felt like this product was some magic eraser for this freaked out areas of my skin. I’ve since learned a bit more about what Niacinimide and Zinc is supposed to do — like calming irritation and reducing dark spots — and I am totally in love with this product. I now use this product AM and PM under my moisturizer, focusing on areas that have more irritation and dark red areas leftover from pimples. I’m interested in trying other Niacinimide serums, like the one from The Inkey List, but it’s likely I will keep buying this great product for a long time.
The Ordinary-Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
So I'll be honest, I'm a pharmacist not an esthetician. My knowledge of products are one dimensional and I did little research when I bought this product a year ago. When I bought this product I was looking for something more 'science' based to treat hyperpigmentation from acne scars and uneven skin textures. I was skeptical that this product would work for me after paying $25 on Amazon. I gave it a shot and applied it religiously every morning as part of my basic skincare regime. After a few months, I noticed some of the scars were lighter and began to fade. However, I feel as if I reached a plateau with the product. I do not get the same results as I was getting a year ago....which sucks. I love this product but my skin grew tolerant of it. I stopped using it for a couple of months and just started incorporating it in my regime again. I would rate it 4/5 stars because of the potential this formulation has. Me, not being a skincare guru probably just needs to learn how to apply it better....and buy it from Sephora or Ulta for $8 next time.
