Retinol Saves the Day?!? (Maybe saves my skin🧐)

EerieBabeUpon initial application, it’s totally normal. Start with just 2-3 times a week and work your way up to every night. Retinol can be irritating at first, so your skin just has to get used to it. If you go overboard and you’re feeling pain/stinging/irritation, just give your skin a few days or so to heal. In the interim ceramides can be great but I have found that the best moisturizer is marula oil (other 100% pure oils like jojoba may also be good) because it’s *just* the oil and doesn’t cause any stinging but does give you some needed moisturizer. And just a general tip: remember to wash your face, apply any toners, essences and/or serums (<- if you so choose) , apply the retinol and top it off with a moisturizer you like. Also, avoid mixing AHA/BHAs and/or Vitamin C with retinol. It’s just too much for the skin (typically) and can cause serious irritation. ❤️ It sounds like you’re on the right track! Soon your skin will adapt and it will start showing results!

These products improved my acne in 3 weeks
Since March 2020 I started breaking out really bad. It got even worse in September and I think it was due to over exfoliation and irritated skin. I started using these products below 3 weeks ago and as you can see from the pictures my acne has noticeably improved. Most of the acne has subsided. The acne on my temples are almost non existent and just some redness remains. Also the redness on my cheeks are fading and are smaller in size. Current routine: Toner: ETUDE HOUSE - Etude House SoonJung pH 5.5 Relief Toner Serums: The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% and The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 Treatment: AZCLEAR - Medicated Lotion Creams: LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Duo (+) and ETUDE HOUSE - SoonJung 2x Barrier Intensive Cream Retinol: DRUNK ELEPHANT - A-Passioni Retinol Cream Really happy with these products right now! I will continue using these products and might add Vitamin C as well. I will post another update in another 3 weeks, stay tuned 🙈
Three week update on Drunk Elephant apassioni 🐘 . 🐘 I’ve been using A-Passioni for 3 weeks. When I first started out my skin was already used to a 1% Retinol serum so I just went right in and used 2 nights in a row, and by the 3rd day my skin was red and a little hot and sensitive, so I knew I had to scale it back and phase it in which I was surprised at since I’m used to Retinol. . 🐘 I would advise anyone who starts to use this even if you are tolerant to Retinol go slow and phase yourself into daily use to avoid any reactions. . 🐘 My skin has tolerated it well in the sense I’ve had no breakouts from using it or any peeling it has just been the red, hot and sensitivity. . 🐘 I always wear SPF anyway daily on my skin but anyone who doesn’t I strongly recommend you to because your skin will be more reactive to the sun while using this. . 🐘 combination that works best for me : - A pea size A-Passioni - 1 pump TLC Framboos - 2 pumps B-Hydra - 4 drops Virgin Marula Oil This cocktail is all mixed together then applied to the skin. This caused me no redness, or hot skin or sensitivity. I don’t even feel any tingling on first application either considering I was adding acid into the mix. . 🐘 It’s too soon to see noticeable differences but so far my skin is feeling baby smooth and soft. I love it. . I’m excited to keep using this daily and I can feed back a more detailed review when I have given it a long enough amount of time to truly impact my skin.

Thoughts on Drunk Elephant B-Hydra💧💧
DRUNK ELEPHANT - B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐦𝐬: B-Hydra is a cool glass of water for your thirsty skin. An ultra-hydrating, anti-aging Vitamin B5 gel that replenishes nutrients and visibly brightens and improves skin texture and tone, while delivering intense skin moisturization throughout the day. To start off, I’m not a big fan of the brand Drunk Elephant. Cherie has sent gift cards and there’s really not many good options in Sephora so I ordered B-Hydra and Protini (I have also tried them before). I made a mistake using them both in the same routine once, it felt really clogging so I wouldn’t recommend it for sensitive acne prone gals like me. However, using one DE product at a time really worked. I got to know they include Marula oil (and plant oils) in almost all of their products which got a comedogenic index of 4 that means it can actually clog pores and cause blemish/acne. B hydra so far hasn’t caused me any breakouts, I don’t really use it on an everyday basis tho. I specifically really like its texture. It has a thick gel consistency but sinks in easily and gives that luxurious feel - like all other DE products. It does kind of make my skin more oily during the day but overall, I still like it. I wouldn’t call it amazing but I think it does a decent job. It’s a good basic hydrating serum for me, unless you’re really into plant oils and it helps your skin tremendously then I can understand why this could be a holy grail. I wish DE would put some niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, peptides higher up the ingredients list but nonetheless, it’s still a great product. Overall, I would recommend B-Hydra not because it’s mind blowing, but because it does mostly what you would expect. If you have the money to spare, I think it’s worth the try.

FARMACY - Very Cherry Bright 15% Clean Vitamin C Serum with Acerola Cherry Pros: Worth. Every. Penny. Every time I use this serum my skin just looks so glowy and HEALTHY, which for a person battling a decade of hormonal acne and scarring is a huge feat. You only need one pump for your entire face since it has a true serum consistency, which means a little goes a long way. I love wearing this alone in the morning, or as a primer because it plays so well with all of my makeup and I never have to worry about pilling. It DOES smell like cherries, but actual cherries rather than a synthetic sickly sweet cherry scent. It leaves your face slightly tacky, but not uncomfortably so. The price tag is hefty (in my opinion), but it’s worth every penny. This is a product I see using for years and years to come. #vitaminc #farmacy #cherry #skincare #brightening

Retinol To The Rescue
Until now I had never heard of “retinol”. I maybe heard a little here and there but never really KNEW all the great things about it till this A Passion Retinol cream came out by @drunkelephant. Retinol is the anti-aging, anti-acne ingredient that has had the best results and has been PROVEN to work for all skin types!! But retinol is to not be taken lightly. This A Passion Retinol has 1% retinol and the highest without a prescription is 2%.... so I would definitely suggest incorporating this cream into your routine very sparsely- or how I do it: I use my cream as a “booster” and I actually mix it with my B- Hydra cream as well. I have been using the retinol like this for about 2 weeks now. I had a little “purging” - where your skin breaks out and can even peel during the first initial usage of retinols. I didn’t have any peeling but I did have a good break out. But now, that has finally died down and I can really see a difference in my skin. And you definitely ONLY need a small amount. Pea sized to be exact!!! I have 2 sample sizes and I am STILL on my first sample. And just like any other great skincare product, retinols can take up to 3-4 months to get the FULL benefits but can possibly start seeing small results within 2-4 weeks. I promise that once you get past the “purge” - you will fall in LOVE with this retinol!! DRUNK ELEPHANT - A-Passioni Retinol Cream

Best Retinol Ever
DRUNK ELEPHANT - A-Passioni Retinol Cream A-Passioni is a product made with 1% vegan retinol (highest otc) to help reduce fine lines, wrinkles, and even texture and tone. It really targets signs of aging and helps restore a more youthful appearance. In my opinion the texture is a cross between a serum and a cream. It sinks into the skin nicely like most serums my also leaves the skin feeling hydrated like most moisturizers. Much like most products from Drunk Elephant I have been using this since the first day it launched. I know their pro it’s work so I am also eager to try anything new from them, plus I didn’t have a retinol in my collection. When I first started using this, I incorporated it EXTREMELY slowly. I would add in a tiny drop to my moisturizer at night once every other week, then I gradually increased until I was using it almost every single night. It took quite a while to see results because I was tapering up so slowly to avoid any irritation. I never experienced any peeling or dryness at all! Once I was using it on a regular basis I really saw results in some deep set lines on my forehead. They softened up and the rest of my skins texture was so evened out and glowing. I can’t say enough great things about this retinol, I truly can see a difference in my skin when I stop using it. I also really love that it’s made of all clean ingredients! I highly recommend this product to anyone over the age of 16. The best part about retinol is that it not only helps with aging but it also helps with acne!! The price is a little steep, $74 for 30mls but it does last a long time so you get your money out of it. To me it’s worth the price! 5 out of 5 ⭐️

Omega+ Serum: Hit or Miss?
The product I’ll be talking about today is PAULA'S CHOICE - Omega + Complex Serum So let’s get to it! What is it? - A superfood serum for your skin with omega fatty acids that strengthen skin's surface with the essential nutrients it needs to be healthy, hydrated and visibly strong. - Available in 1oz for $37, or travel size (0.17oz) for $8. (PC offers 15% off when you sign up for emails, plus they frequently have sales) What’s in it? - Concentrated levels of omega fatty acids help replenish dull, dehydrated skin, revive a beautifully smooth, supple feeling, plus visibly soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. - This serum also contains skin-identical ceramides and hydrating ingredients to visibly improve skin’s health. How to use- - Apply 1-2 pumps onto face and neck. For optimal results, use AM and PM. For daytime, follow with a broad-spectrum sunscreen rated SPF 30 or greater. My review- - I have been using this serum for almost a month. I have dry, sensitive, acne-prone skin. - The serum has a milky, creamy consistency. It has a light, ceramide-like scent. I apply two pumps onto my face AM and PM after my toner and before my moisturizer. It spreads easily onto the skin and absorbs at a medium pace. - My experience with this serum thus far has been pretty lackluster. There hasn’t been any results that make me think, “oh that’s definitely the omega+ serum!” It doesn’t make my skin noticeably softer or smoother. I will say that the one time I chose not to put it on, my moisturizer stung a little, so maybe the serum acts as a barrier to decrease sensitivity? I haven’t had any negative results, which is why I gave it 4 stars. It is pretty expensive, and with not having any noticeable positive effects, I won’t be repurchasing this. My plan is to try Krave’s Great Barrier Relief serum after I finish this one! - This serum was a miss for me ❌ Source- - https://www.paulaschoice.com/omegaand-complex-serum/213.html
