Highlighters vs Lighting Powders
Makeup trends are constantly evolving, we saw “Instagram” brows turn into fluffy soap brows and opaque matte lipsticks transition into soft gradient lip colors. A huge trend that’s almost synonymous with its year in makeup was strobing in 2015, or the use of extreme highlighter. Highlighter was hot, particularly the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfectors which everyone had on their wishlist because of the brand’s collaboration with beauty influencer, Jaclyn Hill that year. However, 2020 has birthed a new decade of makeup trends, mainly focused on natural, minimal, and subtle makeup that accentuates our natural beauty. While highlighters are nice, they are not as subtle and luminous as lighting powders, which I anticipate will make a huge comeback in makeup this year. So what’s the difference between highlighters and lighting powders in the first place? Well I’ve tested out two of them today to demonstrate. BECCA - Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter
Products I REGRET Buying 💀👎🤦♀️
Hey Cherie Sisters! 👯♀️ 💗 ⚠️First of all, I just want to say that these items didn’t personally work for me. You might love some of these products I listed and that is totally okay and I want to put a disclaimer that what didn’t work for me might work for you so take my words with a grain of salt. •WNW MAKEUP SPONGE I LOVE my beauty blender and truly believe that the OG is the best, but it isn’t cheap so I’m always looking for alternatives. I love the RT one and this is even cheaper than that so I decided to give it a go. Some reviews claimed this the exact dupe of BB and some even claim that this is better than BB. The texture of this is a bit rough and the sponge holes are a bit large so it imprinted when I applied my foundation. This emphasized my large pores rather than smooth it out. This also made my foundation + under eye look atrocious. I tried using it to apply my baking powder instead and it was still awful. Maybe I got a bad batch? I’m not sure. Save your $$$ and spend a couple dollars on the RT one. •ELF 16HR CAMO CONCEALER Tarte Shape Tape is my HG concealer and some reviews claimed this is a dupe. However, this is way too drying especially on the under eye area. I also don’t like the texture of it. It is much thicker than my shape tape and a bit harder to blend. It also kept moving around even after baking it. I do have very dry skin so maybe the hydrating concealer might work for me better? I have to try it and get back to you. I still have this item 3 stars because it works great as an eye primer, but just awful on the complexion •TATCHA THE ESSENCE I don’t hate this product per se, but I can live without it. This has premium and clean ingredients, but I didn’t see it make much of a difference. Also for $95 USD (for 150 mL) I just don’t think it’s worth it 😔 •JSC MINI ORGY PALETTE The large orgy palette’s quality is great. However, the mini one is lackluster and isn’t comparable to JSC’s usual standard. I have been refunded and they allowed me to keep this product so I’m happy. I heard that they are recalling this palette as well so I think that’s a good business move on JSC’s end, but it just sucks because the shades look so beautiful in the pan •HOURGLASS AMBIENT LIGHTING POWDER I got sucked in to the hype and bought this. I don’t see a difference. It didn’t make my skin more luminous. I applied multiple layers to my face and still didn’t see anything. It lacks pigment which is disappointing for $48. It doesn’t work as a highlighter either. Sigh •COLOURPOP LIQUID LIPSTICKS CP is one of my favorite products, but I hate all their liquid matte lipsticks. I find it too drying, crumbly and low quality •KYLIE EXTENDED PEACH PALETTE This is Colourpop quality so why did I pay $45 for it? •MILK LONGWEAR GEL LINER This claims to be a “long wear” liner, yet it smudges like crazy even after setting with black eyeshadow. It also sticks to my contact lenses like crazy What products do you regret purchasing? Francesca 💋

👩💻WORK FROM HOME 🏡 BUT U STILL LATE ⏰
Hello ma cherie. I’ve missed you all! 🤪 I’m an office gal working from home in this pandemic. Most of my hours spent at work requires me to be in a zoom meeting at some point throughout the day. Just because I don’t have to physically be at the office doesn’t mean I stopped being a little late. 😏 Frazzled but do not fret. Everyone has their own zoom make up routine and I see you beautiful ladies! 👀 This here is my go to look. I did note down options here with foundation. I only put foundation on when I have blemishes to cover but if I’m good, I just skip it. Favorite for under eyeshadow
I love this concealer. I personally love using it to frame my eyebrows after I fill them in. I also use this as an eye makeup primer too. As for under eyes circles. It’s not the best I’ve ever used but it’s really good. It’s buildable and blends well with a damp applicator.NARS - Radiant Creamy Concealer

TLM Foundation - Color Changing Foundation I saw this on Instagram about a year ago, with all good reviews. Then I watched the Jeffree Star review and he hated it. I bought this for $20, and I was actually amazed at how well it works. It goes on white, and then it blends into your skin tone. I have fair skin tone. It’s medium coverage, but it lasts all day and looks great. It leaves my skin dewy and smooth. I really liked this foundation, and I’d definitely recommend trying it. Based on the reviews, I guess it depends from person to person on how well it works. But it worked for me.

Bronzer VS Blush | 🦋ABG makeup look🦋
To get things started, we have to keep the differences between bronzer and blush in mind: "Bronzer is basically blush, but blush is not bronzer." Blush should be used to add warmth to the cheeks, while bronzer is used specifically to make you look tan. In a nutshell, blush is used to add a flush of color to the cheeks, while bronzer is intended to make the skin look sun-kissed or tan.✨ As a result, blush tends to come in variations of pink (sometimes with peach or plum undertones), where bronzer is typically brown or gold in color. 🦋 How they applied Blush is made to be applied directly to the apples of the cheeks and cheekbones. Bronzer can be applied both to the cheekbones and brow, jawline, and other contours of the face and décolletage. 🦋 Mood and Occasion If you’re going for a natural look, bronzer can add a hint of color and definition. Bronzer is perfect for casual weekend events, as well as more made-up evening looks, particularly those that include contouring. Blush can add a touch of softer, flushed color and is also great for daywear, but use it sparingly—blushes are often very pigmented and can go on heavy if you're not careful. Whichever you choose, keep in mind that less is more, and be sure to keep the color (whether pink or bronze) within range of your natural skin tone. Now that we’ve gone over the difference between bronzer and blush, hopefully you won’t be staring at your makeup bag in confusion any longer about which to wear. So for today’s ABG makeup look, I applied bronzer to make my chin look more strong and the face look slimmer. 🦋 Product details: PHYSICIANS FORMULA - Murumuru Butter Bronzer Best-selling bronzers in the mass market! I’ve bought this product with $14.95, it comes in an adorable tropical-looking compact complete with palm trees and bright colors on it. As soon as you open the top, you can catch a whiff of the buttery goodness going on in there. It smells like Butter Cookies or close to that. The product pan is beautiful and is shaped like sea waves. 🦋 Color: Oohhh!!! The color!!! This bronzer has the perfect bronze-y gold shade with peach undertones for adding the correct amount of warmth and glow to the face. This is certainly not a contouring powder, but the color is best suited for adding some glow and warmth to the skin on a daily basis. 🦋 Texture: It feels very silky and buttery to the touch, like almost creamy! It also contains soft-focus pigments and ultra-refined pearl that gives a glow that looks so beautiful. This bronzer by no means contains chunky shimmer or glitter, has the correct amount of finely-milled shiny powder with a bronze-y glow. 🦋 Longevity: The bronzer does have considerable longevity and does stay on the face for about 6-7 hours which is incredible! I do set my face with a setting spray or a face mist and it does increase the longevity of this product. Anyway, ABG makeup look check!!
