Dupe: Tarte Shape Tape vs Elf Camo Concealer
While scrolling through Cherie, I saw a post about how the Elf Camo Concealer may be a potential dupe for the Tarte Shape Tape. I was super excited to test it out because I love the shape tape and have also been super interested in Elf’s products lately. They’ve really been hitting it out of the park for drugstore beauty. I chose the Hydrating Camo concealer (Medium Sand) rather than the 16 Hour Matte Camo concealer from Elf because I prefer a satin finish. When I first screwed the applicator out, I immediately noticed the smell, it’s STRONG. However, the scent doesn’t linger after application and it’s really no surprise that $6 makeup may smell like paint sometimes. In terms of consistency, it’s very similar to the Tarte Shape Tape; creamy and thick. The coverage is almost identical, so so full. The finish of the Tarte Shape Tape is a bit more matte than the Elf Hydrating Camo, but I actually prefer the Elf’s natural looking satin finish. For wear time, after a 5 hour check in, they looked very similar with slight creasing, but nothing out of the ordinary. One thing to note is that the Elf concealer does oxidize if applied in a very light layer. Under the eye, it’s fine, but for some reason, on other places on my face, it oxidized a lot. Overall, I like the Elf Hydrating Camo concealer and think it is a great value for the price!

Start with making sure your face is prepped and clean and moisturized! I start with Simple - Water Boost Micellar Cleansing Water Then I use The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 make sure your face is damp when applying so it’ll retain the moisture! Makeup: For foundation COLOURPOP - Pretty Fresh Hyaluronic Hydrating Foundation Now before I blend it in I spray my setting spray and let it dry a little before.. this will make it looked airbrushed!!! It’s important trust me. Then I use my REAL TECHNIQUES - Miracle Complexion Sponge For concealer I use the e.l.f. - Hydrating Camo Concealer I use the #Maybelline - Fit Me Loose Powder[products]#[FiveStars] and this stuff is great especially if you’re taking pictures or using a ring light! I use a dark concealer for my contour e.l.f. - Hydrating Camo Concealer And the wet n wild - Color Icon Bronzer Square I love this stuff it blends so well!! Then I use MILANI - MILANI Baked Blush in luminoso it’s the best For highlighter I use wet n wild - MegaGlo Highlighting Powder in precious petals this applies so good I use the Milk MAKEUP - KUSH High Volume Mascara After I spray my NYX - Matte Finish Makeup Setting Spray and use my beauty blender to make sure everything sets properly! JOSIE MARAN - 100% Pure Argan Oil (as primer). I splurge on this because the women are paid a living wage and their daughters are given a safe place to be during the day. Baby’s First Color-Correcting Palette
Okay, I have never used a color correcting palette before. So, the other day while I was browsing Ulta, I decided to grab a really cheap one. (This is JCat Cosmetics Quad Palette). The photos I’ve posted in order are: during the color correction process (duh), a before photo, two after photos (one with just concealer and bb cream, the other with my regular day to day makeup). Here are my thoughts, this palette is not great. It has a bit of a chalky finish and it takes A LOT to get good coverage (I didn’t expect much since it cost about five bucks and I’ve never heard of this company before). HOWEVER! I do think I will eventually get a better palette, because I did notice some nice differences, particularly with red reduction from the green cream. I just need something that is a little higher quality and that can help tame my very persistent eye circles. Anyone have good recommendations for palettes to try next??

How to achieve flawless base makeup ☀️☀️
During the summer months, I rarely wear makeup. And when I do I prefer it to feel as light as possible! My preferred makeup look is dewy and glowy as opposed to matte, so I use all cream products for my base. For my primer, I have been using BECCA - Backlight Priming Filter Face Primer . Honestly, I could wear this product alone and be happy with it! It provides a natural shimmer and slight coverage and really makes you glow! After applying this primer I apply my Glossier. - Perfecting Skin Tint with a damp beautyblender - Classic Makeup Sponge Pink . I have absolutely RAVED on this product before but it really is the perfect face product for summer. The coverage is light to medium, and doesn’t feel like you are actually wearing makeup at all. It hides any redness I have while still allowing my freckles to peek through! These two products help me achieve a natural, glowing look for summer that I have been loving! #CheriePartner

I’ve been doing my contour + concealer before my foundation lately and I’m loving how it looks! this method ensures there’s no harsh lines or unblended makeup. I also noticed I use way less foundation since most of the work is already done— 1. I use a dense brush to diffuse the contour by buffing it in small circles. I’ve been using L.A. Girl - HD Pro Concealer in bronze for yeeeears. I don’t hate it. I’m not obsessed with it either. it’s whatever. 2. I use the pointy end of mybeautyblender - beautyblender Makeup Sponge to blend the concealer in. I love my beauty blender because it makes the makeup look super flawless. I use my b.b. damp, but NOT wet. tarte - Shape Tape Concealer is my HOLY GRAIL concealer and I will never quit using it. I recently stopped setting my under eyes and it’s transformed my makeup routine. 3. lastly, I use the butt end of my sponge and place 1 pump of foundation (L'ORÉAL - Infallible Fresh Wear 24HR Foundation ) on it. I stamp it everywhere I didn’t put concealer + contour and it fuses everything together! that’s all for my base. maybe I’ll dust a little highlight on or some cream blush, but other than that, it’s a wrap.

Bronzer VS Blush | 🦋ABG makeup look🦋
To get things started, we have to keep the differences between bronzer and blush in mind: "Bronzer is basically blush, but blush is not bronzer." Blush should be used to add warmth to the cheeks, while bronzer is used specifically to make you look tan. In a nutshell, blush is used to add a flush of color to the cheeks, while bronzer is intended to make the skin look sun-kissed or tan.✨ As a result, blush tends to come in variations of pink (sometimes with peach or plum undertones), where bronzer is typically brown or gold in color. 🦋 How they applied Blush is made to be applied directly to the apples of the cheeks and cheekbones. Bronzer can be applied both to the cheekbones and brow, jawline, and other contours of the face and décolletage. 🦋 Mood and Occasion If you’re going for a natural look, bronzer can add a hint of color and definition. Bronzer is perfect for casual weekend events, as well as more made-up evening looks, particularly those that include contouring. Blush can add a touch of softer, flushed color and is also great for daywear, but use it sparingly—blushes are often very pigmented and can go on heavy if you're not careful. Whichever you choose, keep in mind that less is more, and be sure to keep the color (whether pink or bronze) within range of your natural skin tone. Now that we’ve gone over the difference between bronzer and blush, hopefully you won’t be staring at your makeup bag in confusion any longer about which to wear. So for today’s ABG makeup look, I applied bronzer to make my chin look more strong and the face look slimmer. 🦋 Product details: PHYSICIANS FORMULA - Murumuru Butter Bronzer Best-selling bronzers in the mass market! I’ve bought this product with $14.95, it comes in an adorable tropical-looking compact complete with palm trees and bright colors on it. As soon as you open the top, you can catch a whiff of the buttery goodness going on in there. It smells like Butter Cookies or close to that. The product pan is beautiful and is shaped like sea waves. 🦋 Color: Oohhh!!! The color!!! This bronzer has the perfect bronze-y gold shade with peach undertones for adding the correct amount of warmth and glow to the face. This is certainly not a contouring powder, but the color is best suited for adding some glow and warmth to the skin on a daily basis. 🦋 Texture: It feels very silky and buttery to the touch, like almost creamy! It also contains soft-focus pigments and ultra-refined pearl that gives a glow that looks so beautiful. This bronzer by no means contains chunky shimmer or glitter, has the correct amount of finely-milled shiny powder with a bronze-y glow. 🦋 Longevity: The bronzer does have considerable longevity and does stay on the face for about 6-7 hours which is incredible! I do set my face with a setting spray or a face mist and it does increase the longevity of this product. Anyway, ABG makeup look check!!

Wanna contour a round face? A concealer is enough!
My face does not typically belong to a round one in nature but it can be a round one, because snacks and desserts are necessities for me, and to a most degree, for most gals lol. After stuffing myself with feasts, chocolate and pouring several bottles of milk tea at the same time, my stomach will be swollen soon. However, if I have kept filling these stuff for a couple of days, the phenomenon of swell would shift to happen on my face. Unfortunately, that is the place I cannot cover with any clothes. It cannot be more awful if I have a date, wearing a big swollen face. How to save face in a short period of time? Let’s thanks to the contour and highlighting techniques. Once finishing the foundation routine, it’s going to conceal and highlight my face. What I use is NARS - Radiant Creamy Concealerr and I choose the shade of light 2 Vanilla (AUD 48). In addition to a large portion of powder in it, this concealer includes magnolia bark extract, grape seed extract and vitamin E. These botanicals can help relieve the redness and hydrate the skin as well. Usually I apply it to the area that I wanna highlight, such as a triangle part under my eyes. That part is enclosed by eyes, nose and the cheekbone. I also apply it on my chin to bring it forward. Besides, my forehead and the bridge of my nose still need to be salient. The area of the forehead does not mean my whole forehead part, and is more like to draw a shape of a bowler hat. The line closely above your eyebrow line should be the brim of the hat, and the middle section of my forehead should be the cone of the hat. Once the application is done, blending the creamy powder into the skin by only tapping, in case of their movements to other areas of my face.

A $7 Concealer Worth Trying
Yesterday I was rushing out the door for work and realized on my drive that I remembered everything except to put on my usual mascara and concealer. I decided to stop and grab any old concealer because that’s the one makeup product I can’t leave the house without (well, can leave the house without but don’t want to lol). I can do without mascara for a 12 hour night shift at the hospital though. I stopped at Walmart and decided to try the e.l.f. - Hydrating Camo Concealer because the price was right and the shade seemed relatively close to my favourite Too Faced Born This Way concealer. My Thoughts: + Concealer is light-weight. It claims to be full-coverage but I found it more sheer than other full-coverage concealers I’ve tried + It comes in a lot of shades which is great (28 I think!). I don’t think I picked up my exact shade but it was close enough when I was in a pinch. I grabbed the light beige. + It’s a satin-finish which I liked + It blends nicely at first. I did notice a tiny bit of creasing after a few hours of wear, but nothing anyone would notice unless you were looking for it haha + It’s hydrating! There’s nothing worse than a concealer that dries out your under eye area + The price is right. $7 CAD and you get a decent amount of product + I think this concealer oxidizes so be mindful of that I would definitely repurchase this product, although it wouldn’t be my number 1 concealer. I need to find my correct shade haha :)
