Nightly skincare routine!

robynkenner
This is my nightly skin care routine. Very similar to my morning routine except two products are switched. For finished review go to my first post. I’m just going to review the added products here **** Step 1: Cetaphil - Daily Facial Cleanser
Step 2: Aquaphor - Aquaphor Healing Ointment
Step 3: Eye Cream ***I’m still trying to find a good eye cream that works against loose skin and wrinkles. Anyone have any suggestions, put them in the comments below! Step 4: POND'S - Facial Moisturizers Dry Skin Cream
So instead of the CeraVe am moisturizer with SPF, for the night time I use Ponds and I absolutely love it. The jar has lasted me for years! Just a little dab here and there and it leaves your skin feeling soft, hydrated, and smooth. I used to have really dry skin on my forehead and eyebrows and ever since I started using Ponds, it has cleared right up! No flakes anymore! Cannot recommend enough. It’s so cheap and it smells so fresh and clean! Step 5: Clearasil - Daily Clear Vanishing Acne Treatment Cream
At first I wasn’t a fan of this because I would put it on at night and then by morning my pimples would be huge. But then I would do it again and the next day they were gone! It doesn’t sting like some spot treatments and I like the cream texture for the night time. As you can tell it’s almost gone because I love it so much but much like the Pond’s, it has lasted me a long time! Let me know your thoughts and experiences in the comments! Thanks 😊💕

Slugging with Aquaphor Healing Ointment!
Aquaphor - Aquaphor Healing Ointment Ok guys, I’ve heard about this a lot and my skin is so darn dry that no moisturizer lasts overnight. My skin ends up extremely dry and flaky and red the next morning and nothing is helping me heal or improve my skin. Everything I’ve tried kind of just helps short term and is good in the moment, bust still wears over time, so I’m going to try slugging! What is slugging? I wasn’t sure, so I googled what it really was and Byrdie said, “Slugging is a K-Beauty skincare trend which includes coating your face in petrolatum or Vaseline. This prevents transepidermal water loss and keeps moisture in your skin.“ This sounds like it would be worth a try, I am a side and tummy sleeper so I’m hoping that it doesn’t get all over my pillow. I’m only putting the Aquaphor on my chin area because that’s the only area where I feel I need it. I’ll keep updating as I keep doing it, but I’m really hoping this saves my skin! *morning of day 1: it worked! I just woke up and looked in the mirror and I didn’t see any flakiness!!!! I’m gonna keep trying it for a few days to see if I can really get that patch permanently fixed, I’m so excited! I’ve had that darn thing for years in the winter. *morning of day 3: WOW MY SKIN IS SMOOOOOOOTH AND SO NOT DRY! The only annoying thing is trying not to get it on my pillow since I’m a side/tummy sleeper but this is really working for me! And this is great because I meant to purchase hand cream, got this instead, and had no idea what to do with it until I heard about slugging.

Eczema flair ups
So after being home for what seems like forever, i’ve suddenly had a flair up of my eczema. It started off on my eyelids for a few months, then with quarantine, it started spreading in my left cheeks, my forehead was extremely dry and cracked, then all over my face. I used to not be sensitive with my acne skincare products, but the more my eczema got worst, the more sensitive my skin would get. Even a splash of water would irritate my skin. I stopped doing my regular skin care routine for a while, it was not doing me good with a compromised skin barrier (which is what eczema is). So this is what has been working for me, after trial and error, these two products together helped clear up my patches, and decrease my redness. Still a little flakey, but not as flakey as it was initially. I start off by cleansing my skin with CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser it’s the only gentle cleanser i have. It still irritates my skin a little sadly, but i try to cleanse less, so usually PM only. And I would rinse my face with just water in the AM. Don’t feel the need that i should spend on another cleanser, since it’s hopefully just temporary until my skin barrier gets stronger. - then i would slather CeraVe - CeraVe Moisturising Cream all over my face on damped skin, avoiding my eye area. Its so thick and perfect for my extremely dry skin. Its so soothing and the ingredients are the best. It’s very hydrating, but just not thick enough for my eczema prone skin. Which is why i follow up with a thin layer of Aquaphor - Aquaphor Healing Ointment prior to doing this, i would wake up with flakey dry skin in the morning, as if all the hydration has disappeared during my sleep. But this ointment helps lock in the cream and keeps my skin hydrated until the morning. Its great for everything tbh. I would also put this on my eyelids since i have redness there as well. (Side note: i’ve been using this for my cracked lips for years, it’s the absolute best for drugstore lip balm). But if you have those bad days where your lips gets extremely dry to the point that you don’t know what to do anymore and your regular lip balm that you’ve used for a lifetime does not work, i would recommend #La Roche-Posay - Cicaplast levres[products]#[FiveStars] you wake up the next day as if nothing has happened, you get completely healed lips. I swear by it!!! It’s very thick, with a mat finish, it’s nothing like other lip balms ive used before. It also contains great ingredients such as panthenol which is great for repairing. The less is better for eczema prone skin, and i hope these two holy grail products of mine works for you too. You really need patience, and so far i am loving the results. My patches has gone away and my redness is slowly calming down. I thought i would need a whole new routine but i will stick to this for now.

I need help!!
I don't know what these scabs are all from - but I guess it's from cystic acne right? I think I might've spread the infection to my nose by picking at the one on my chin (the red spot), which has been switching between healing and being infected for a few years. So I guess I have cystic acne then, right? What are some products that help? I appreciate anyone helping me !! ❤️❤️ A few things to add: I do have one hole on my chin right near that big red one, which sometimes is a blackhead and other times is just there infected I guess. The red spot on my left nostril oozes this yellowy stuff, same with my chin, and becomes a scab and the flakes if that cyst is disrupted/picked at/if the skin tears or moves (both of the cysts tend to hurt a lot and ooze a lot because they're on spots of my face that move a lot. I wouldn't have such a big problem if these were on my forehead or cheek) Some products I have for acne & redness: Clearasil - Daily Clear Vanishing Acne Treatment Cream Glossier. - Solution Exfoliating Skin Perfector Clean&Clear - Advantage Acne Spot Treatment Murad - Blemish Control Rapid Relief Spot Treatment Aveeno - Clear Complexion Foaming Cleanser Glossier. - Super Pure Niacinamide + Zinc Serum The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10%

I need something to keep my skin calm
Ok so it seems like I have rosacea since my cheeks are basically always red and I have all the symptoms, plus I always get these painful bumps and acne on my chin. I'm assuming they're cystic acne since I've had acne like this on my chin for a few years now. They take forever to go away and I currently have three now on my chin. Any good products to try that help with rosacea and cystic acne? (they can be different products - as in it doesn't have to be one to treat both) Thanks!! Good things to know/ PS: I have combo (oily & dry) skin, sensitive skin (especially with dyes/perfumes), and my face burns easily. I use the Clearasil - Daily Clear Vanishing Acne Treatment Creamevery day or every other day on my cysts and it seems to work but I think I need something that works faster. Also, I have the Glossier. - Super Pure Niacinamide + Zinc Serumfor redness which I didn't know I could use it for that. (thanks @jassintadoe) Thanks!!

night night routine
My night time skin care roitine is a ritual. It's my "It's time to decompress, remove the day and transition to a relaxing evening" time. I start by using my micellar water and baby washcloth and remove me eye and facial make. Then, I wash my face with my Cetaphil face wash. After patting my face dry, I pat on some Revolution Bakuchiol Serum. Then I move on to the Revolution Hyaluronic Acid. After that, I get a drop of Revolution Targeted Under Eye Serum with Caffeine and Hyaluronic Acid and tap it under my eyes. Then I use Revolution Collagen Skin Firming Solution on my face. After that it's Revolution Niacinamide Blemish Refining and Moisturizing Serum. Then, I moisturize some more with CeraVe PM Ultra Moisturizing Lotion and finish off with a sample of Sunday Riley High Dose Rentinoid Serum. After that, I am finally ready to lay down for the evening and go to bed. Final thought, you probably don't need a complicated skin routine at night. and certainly, have a less complicated one on standby for those nights when you just can barely put one foot in front of the other. As my mom used to say....night, night, don't let the bed bugs bite. GARNIER - Micellar Water Facial Cleanser Sensitive Skin I love, love, love this stuff! it's gentle on my skin. It takes off the toughest mascara without irritating my eyes. I use it as a pre cleanser before washing my face. Cetaphil - Daily Facial Cleanser While I use this every night, I am only using it until I finish the bottle. I am not crazy about the scent and there is a slight sting on my cheeks when I first lather the product on my skin and I am not fond of that feeling. REVOLUTION - 2% Hyaluronic Acid Serum REVOLUTION - Targeted Under Eye Serum 5% Caffeine REVOLUTION - 15% Niacinamide Serum REVOLUTION - Skin Firming Solution Stabilised Active Collagen Serum I've enjoyed all of the products I purchased from Revolution, they will all be empties. I am going to try The Ordinary next but the price comparison is about the same. DIFFERIN - Dark Spot Correcting Serum I haven't noticed a bit of difference since using this. how long do you have to you this before you notice your spots lightening?SUNDAY RILEY - A+ High-Dose Retinol Serum

Double Your Lash Length With Sky High Mascara!
I bought this mascara after seeing a post about it on Facebook. I love trying out new mascaras but rarely do I find one that I will use regularly like my beloved tarte - Maneater Mascara However this stuff is good. MAYBELLINE - Lash Sensational Sky High Waterproof Mascara It gave my lashes so much volume & length they literally doubled in size! My lashes are already pretty long to begin with but this made them look amazing. The photo is after applying only one coat so I can only imagine how good they will look after two or three coats! It also didn’t clump up my lashes at all. I applied it really quickly & lazily too because I was in a rush to get ready & I was still amazed! I honestly think this is going to be my new daily mascara. It is waterproof but not the annoying kind that leaves your eyes completely black when you go to take it off. It came off really easily with my POND'S - Facial Moisturizers Dry Skin Cream which is what I’ve always used to remove my eye makeup, since I was a kid! @cherie@Cheriebeauty@CheriePick

Current PM Routine
Current PM Routine
I’m very early in my journey of finding the right products for my skin and clearing my acne. I currently love theCeraVe - Skin Renewing Night Cream My skin can be angry with pimples and redness but by morning redness is minimum and dryness gone. I also love MARIO BADESCU - Mario Badescu Drying Lotion for treating active acne. This lotion seriously reduces the life and size of pimples overnight. All other products pictured above I’m still experimenting with and very open to suggestions for my combination, acne-prone, aging, dull and rough skin.

Cerave First Impressions!
Cerave First Impressions!
You’d have to be living under a rock to not know about this Salicylic Acid duo.. I’ve heard a lot of good things about Cerave and have been dying to try it out. When I saw that we got these back in stock at work, I grabbed them to see if they would help the sudden burst of acne I for some reason got... Here’s my first impressions!! Cerave SA Cleanser: So far I’ve used this twice now and I can’t say a bunch about it cause it’s not long enough to see results...BUT I really like the way it makes my face feel. It doesn’t make my face feel dry or tight after using it (It also has Hyaluronic acid, my best friend). I also love that these products are perfume free, but don’t smell like pure chemicals. I’m gonna keep using it and see if it clears up my acne. CeraVe - SA Smoothing Cleanser Cerave Renewing SA Cream: I’ve only used this cream once so far, but I like that it goes hand in hand with the cleanser. It also has hyaluronic acid which I’m happy about. This cream is directed to extremely dry skin (🙋🏼‍♀️) so I feel like it’ll do something to the dry patches that appeared on my cheeks. I’ll have to continue to use this product as well, and with the cleanser to see how it does but so far I’m seeing what the hype is about!!! CeraVe - SA Moisturizing Cream For Rough & Bumpy Skin

Sensitive skin and acne prone
I have very sensitive skin which has made me try many products!!! I tried the newClean&Clear - Acne Triple Clear Facial Cleanser which made my face burn and didn’t work. It made me break out more! Then I’ve tried the clean and clear blackhead scrub which doesn’t burn just doesn’t work! I’ve tried a lot of stuff!!!! I’m also acne prone so it’s hard to find something that works for both. Then I found DIFFERIN - Daily Deep Cleanser BPO 5% I’ve only been useing it for a couple days now and has already cleared a lot of my acne!!!! It works amazing and makes my less red and irritated!! Plus you can find it at target and Walmart so no online shopping or prescriptions!! It makes me feel more confident and comfortable in my own skin !!! Also for sensitive skin I would get the daily one for sensitive skin.!!!The next drugstore product that is really great is OLAY - Complete Care Day UV Fluid SPF15 Normal/Oily I have oily skin and easily burned skin and this works amazing!!! I’ve used it for a little more than a year and love it!!!!

If You Have Acne-prone Skin, Give CeraVe A Go! 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼
If You Have Acne-prone Skin, Give CeraVe A Go! 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼
I have combo-oily and acne-prone skin (oily in summer and dry in winter), so I focus more on skincare products that can help to repair the skin barrier and fight the annoying acne. 😫😫 I was recommended CeraVe products, which is said to be an excellent option for those that need help repairing a damaged moisture barrier. Here is my review of 3 products I've tried: CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion It's xcellent for all skin types, particularly dehydrated skin in need of barrier recover. It works well on hydration, and its not greasy at all! I can use it in the summer! I usually have three pumps to apply and massage to make it soaks into my face. I have to say that I didn't see a significant difference in brightening skin tone, but it's useful in treating acne and repairing skin. The fact that it has 4% niacinamide with glycerin, hyaluronic acid & 3 types of ceramides makes this holy grail status for me. But It may stings at first use, so build tolerance first. CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin This is a pretty light lotion and perfect for people who don’t like the tacky or sticky feelings of moisturizers. I love to use it in summer, and it absorbs very quickly. It doesn't sit on the skin, and the skin kind of drinks it in. My facial skin feels plumped and well-hydrated. This lotion contains ceramides that support hydration and protects overall skin wellness. I would highly recommend it to anyone on a budget as it’s inexpensive yet very effective. CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser The cleanser is a Life Saver when my skin breakouts and irritated. This cleanser has 3 essential ceramides that protect and build the skin barrier and helps retain moisture at the same time. They also help to protect the skin from environmental aggressors such as pollution and irritations, that can cause sensitivity, redness and dryness. Since I have combo-oily skin, I added it to my PM skincare routine and it can leave my face clean and soft. I'm beyond happy with this brand and will forever repurchase! Considering the effectiveness and prices, I would 10/10 recommend it to anyone having acne-prone skin like me!🥰🥰🥰

CeraVe-Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin
*2 products that have saved my face*
*2 products that have saved my face*
there are so many face cleansers and moisturizers that make my face extremely dry or do not do anything to help. Cetaphil’s Gentle Skin Cleanser and Moisturizing Lotion have •SAVED MY FACE• Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser is for all skin types. It is a face and body wash but I only use it for my face. The face wash cleanses without any irritation; and it maintains the skin’s natural protective oils and natural pH to moisturize and soothe sensitive skin as it cleans. it is gentle enough for baby’s delicate skin. It has gotten rid of all if not all than 95% of pimples or annoying little areas that are on my face. mainly on my Fore-head and chin area (but it has helped all over my face.) It cleanses my face very well and makes my face soft and smooth. I do not regret this purchase. It was really worth the money. *MORE TO KNOW ABOUT Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser* ♥︎It can be used with or without water ♥︎With water: Apply to your skin - gently massage all over your face; then rinse. 🌸 ♥︎Without water: Apply to your skin - gently massage all over your face; and remove with a dry cloth. 💫 Cetaphil - Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion is a non-greasy, lightweight moisturizer. It helps hydrate and does an amazing job protecting your sensitive skin. It absorbs easily and fast and leaves your skin very soft. I have tried many face moisturizers that either made my face more dry, or gave me pimples. I have been using the two of these products for a couple of months now and all I have seen were amazing results. Highly recommended! *MORE TO KNOW ABOUT Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion* ♥︎Non-irritating-Non-comedogenic-Fragrance and paraben free. ♥︎Best applies after you are done bathing while your skin is still damp. ♥︎Protects skin for up to 48 hours 💗 ♥︎i would also highly recommend storing the Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion is a mini makeup/skincare fridge because it can/may get a little liquidy but NOT watery :) everyone’s skin is different so your skin may react different to these products. I do know that it is very good for sensitive skin. You can use these products even if you do not have sensitive skin!! ☺️

These tips + these products have helped my skin: - Double cleanse EVERY night - Gentle non-foaming cleanser morning & night - Cleanse for at least 60 seconds, if not longer - Moisturize with CeraVe PM every morning & night (contains niacinamide) - CeraVe daily moisturizer on dry spots - Retinoid (Differin) nightly, applying every other night for a month then stepping up to nightly. - alternate weekly between azelaic acid & salicylic acid in the morning - AHA once a week at night if I take a break from differin - BP spot treatment on active pimples. I did not change my diet or dairy intake. However I have noticed myself eating a side of fruit & veggies with lunch or dinner. I have been sleeping more (thanks covid) & I wash pillowcases and towels weekly. I use a separate towel for my face, plus I have stopped putting conditioner right on my hair line.
