Some Drugstore Hair All Stars ✨
Are you like me? Ballin’ on a budget? UGH. The struggle is real when all you see every day are stellar reviews of luxury products. Like, I DO NOT have that kind of money. Period. These are 2 of my favorite drugstore hair call-outs for my dry, thick, curly hair:
Dove Dry Shampoo. I wasn’t sure of this at first. I’ve tried a lot of dry shampoos and some of them just work DIFFERENT on thick hair. This one doesn’t leave me choking on a thick scent or fragrance (thank god) and is super easy to massage out. It does such a good job in my thick hair of instantly taking it from oily to voluminous. This is available at most stores like CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, etc. and retails for $5. Dove - Refresh + Care Volume & Fullness Dry Shampoo
Healthy Sexy Hair “Love Oil.” This is seriously one of the best hair oils out there, at least for my hair type. It works perfectly in my ends when diluted with water, since I have naturally curly hair and water revitalizes my curls, while oils traditionally weigh them down. This oil is perfect. It’s primarily argan oil but it’s diluted itself within the formula which makes it my TRUE love oil (haha see what I did there). A mini size of this retails for $9 at Ulta and while it might not be Suave pricing, a little bit goes a long way. I would call out what this is duping but tbh this is the only oil I have tried like this and you’re not selling me on anything else!! sexyhair - Healthy Moisturizing Love OilWhat are your favorite drugstore hair products? #CheriePartner

BEST OF: Hair Oil 🏆
My awards for hair oil... My hair is usually a 2C-3A curl pattern but when it is bleached or colored it leans 2B. It’s also pretty thick... I have a LOT of hair! Because it is currently bleached/damaged/dry, I constantly have a hair oil on hand depending on what I need—all 3 of these are my go-to’s depending on how frizzy/dry I am. 🏆 The best “fix this now!!” oil sexyhair - Healthy Moisturizing Love Oil This oil and I have a relationship stronger than my engagement...and I’m getting married this year!! I seriously this is a great thick oil that doesn’t weigh down your curls too much and won’t rub off on your face or clothes. I usually put a pump of this in my damp palm and run it through my hair starting with my ends. At first, it will be heavy but within 5-10 mins you look good as new girlfriend ❤️ HSH is such an affordable brand and you can try out this mini for yourself for $9 at Ulta!! I take it everywhere I go! 🏆 The best scalp + hair oil The Ordinary - 100% Cold Pressed Virgin Marula Oil This oil gets an honorable mention because I put it in my hair and scalp the night before I wash to nourish my scalp and make sure I don’t over-dry my scalp with my treatments I use on it on wash day. It’s also a good stand in for the love oil when I’m out of that! It’s thicker like the love oil but my hair eats it UP! It’s $9.90 at Ulta, you can’t go wrong! 🏆 The best lightweight “everyday” oil ogx - Nourishing Coconut Oil Weightless Hydrating Oil Mist Before we begin: this stuff has a stale smell to it. It’s like stale but coy. It’s weird. HOWEVER. This is the only oil I can use on my hair that doesn’t leave my hands feeling drenched in oil afterwards!! It’s SO lightweight and absorbs very fast. However I believe if you had thicker or curlier hair than me, it would take half of a bottle to get enough shine from this stuff. I also love that the packaging includes a spray so I can disperse it more evenly through my ends when I need it. It is marketed as weightless and honestly feels weightless...I love it. And the coconut oil ingredient does not cause breakouts in my face. Woo!! It’s also $9 at Ulta (see a pattern here?) so I highly recommend! Do you have any favorites that I haven’t listed here? And recommendations?
How Effective is Dry Shampoo to Combat Oily Hair
You’ve probably heard of the dry shampoo and with so many types in the market, for each and every specific hair-care need or quirk we have got, it can be overwelming to pick the correct one for our hair type. I love using the dry shampoo as it helps make dirty, oily scalp more manageable, especially if I need to somewhere looking fresh quickly after a workpout. It also allows me to go a day (or two) longer without a lengthy hair wash. Dry shampoo also easily extends the life of an expensive blowout without a trace of ashy residue, prolonging the fluff and volume that we all love. I’m using this Amika Perk Up dry shampoo that costs $25 for a 5.3oz can. Awarded “Best Dry Shampoo” by Salon Magazine’s 2020 Reader’s Choice Awards, the talc-free cleanser helps absorbs excess oil in my hair and refreshes hair with natural rice starch, a light powder that absorbs dirt and oil and adds volume and texture to hair. It smells fresh and natural without leaving any white residue. amika: - Perk Up Talc-Free Dry Shampoo I also love how the vegan formula is free of sulfates, parabens, sodium chloride and artificial colors. To use, shake the can well. Hold about 8 inches away and spray onto desired area, focusing on the roots. Massage as you would with a wet shampoo. Brush through. Tips: - Don’t spray dry shampoo too close to your hair. Spray it at least a few inches away from the roots of your hair so that it’s lightly and evenly applied, and then brush out for a more even coverage. - Give your dry shampoo some time to work its magic. Once you’ve applied dry shampoo, take a few minutes to do the rest of your routine so that the product will have extra time to absorb hair oils before you massage it through or brush it out. - Massaging dry shampoo into your scalp helps. Once you’ve sprayed the dry shampoo into your hair, massage it into your roots and scalp with your finger. Doing this gives you a clean hair look that you want to achieve.

Fighting Frizz: Verb Ghost Oil
I’ve heard so much buzz about this hair oil. It’s called Ghost Oil by the brand Verb. VERB - Ghost Oil It’s a lightweight oil that’s supposed to help smooth your hair. I have very curly, dry, frizzy hair and oftentimes I need to use a hair oil after it air dries so my curls can live IN PEACE. You can see in my before photo that my curls are way tighter than they are in my after photo. It appears that while lightweight, this oil turns my curls into waves. This does not happen with other hair oils I own. Additionally, within an hour my hair has soaked up all the oil and is back to being a frizzy mess. If you have thinner hair, and don’t care much about your curl pattern (or don’t have one) you would probably like this oil! A full size bottle is only 2oz for $18, so it’s pretty pricey! I would definitely try to get a sample before buying full size. For my reasons stated above, I have to rate this a 4/5 stars. What’s your favorite hair oil?
The Story of How I Ruined My Hair 🙃
***Keep in mind that this isn’t the first time I’ve ruined my hair...and I was also going through a breakup. Okay thanks 😅*** Photo Set 1 Do you see that reddish tint in my hair? Yeah, that happened at hair school. My teacher told my friend and I to use a higher volume developer than was necessary with a demi-permanent purple and my natural hair color was lifted to that awful mess. Photo Set 2 I had two options: let it grow out and slowly cut the ugly out…or go blonde. I chose to go blonde. I should have done more research on salons, though, because this one was using lightener that is SUPER HARSH, so my hair got pretty damaged there. I had been trying to grow my bangs out, and I ended up having to cut them, because they would have just broken off if I left them alone. Photo Set 3 We got in this new line of fashion color at the store I work at and I wanted to test out its claims that it would last up to 8 weeks. I used SEMI-PERMANENT because I knew my hair didn’t need more developer on it. The first purple color faded out to a silver-grey and I didn’t like that, so I picked a more vibrant purple to try…top right is the night I colored it, bottom left is a week or two later, and the last photo is as faded as could get it before I went to my hairdresser. At that point, I had tried clarifying shampoo, baking soda and dawn, two color remover treatments, and a clarifying treatment…I was screwed. Photo Set 4 After my hairdresser fixed me with lightener and conditioner. I was very damaged and dry. I had to baby my hair. I wanted it long-ish because I had to be in a wedding the first week of the next year and I only had a couple months between then. But my hair felt AWFUL. Photo Set 5 That’s the day of the wedding. I managed to make my hair appear healthy and then exactly one week later I went back to my hairdresser and had her chop it all off. Guys…don’t do what I did. There’s absolutely no way to bring damaged hair back to life. Once it’s fried, it’s fried, and the BEST OPTION is to just cut it off and let it grow in healthy. I learned my lesson. Pls learn from my mistakes!
quench thirsty hair 💕
💕The eva·nyc - Therapy Session Hair Maskis a deep conditioning hair mask which promises to moisturize, repair and strengthen dry, damaged hair 💕ingredients in this mask Include keravis protein, buckthorn and Argan oil 💕i began running low on my Briogeo don’t despair, repair deep conditioner but my budget wasn’t allowing me to spend $36 to replace it 💕I saw the Eva nyc hair mask while browsing target ($14.49) and decided to give it a try especially since it has many positive reviews 💕so far I have only used it one time, as I still have some Briogeo left. Based on my first use, it did leave my hair feeling soft and allowed for easy detangling while in the shower. I may have to switch up what shampoo I pair it with though. 💕I will update in the future once I’ve used it a couple more times.

What’s the Function of Beau(Tea)?
For those of you who don’t know, Function of Beauty is a vegan hair care line that is formulated specifically for your unique hair needs. While under quarantine, I decided to finally give it a try and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this shampoo and conditioner. I noticed a difference almost immediately, looking at my split ends in the mirror. There weren’t as many of them as there had been the day before. Now...check out the goals I set for my specific formula. I didn’t say that I wanted to mend my split ends, yet something in this hair cocktail was causing my split ends to disappear. Honestly, I don’t have anything bad to say about this product. As of now, I’ve cancelled my subscription, because I rotate my shampoos and conditioners. So these bottles will last me a while! (Oh and it smells DIVINE!!!)
Get rid of oily hair in one minute!
Have you ever encountered such a situation? You were lazy and didn't wash your hair the day before, but you met a boy you like when you go out to eat? Your hair is oily, so you dare not say hello to him, let alone look at him directly. At this time, you need some magic to save you, so that you can get rid of oily hair in a minute. Next are some small TIPS. AUSSIE WASH & BLOW IN A CAN $8 First of all, I recommend this product because it is really as advertised and can save you in a minute. You only need three steps. The first step is to flip the hair so that it hangs on the ground. Next, use one hand to separate the hair and spray the other hand to the roots. Finally, flip your hair back, give it a troublesome styling, and then deal with the bulky hair. After these three steps, your hair will be as fluffy and fresh as it was just washed. The packaging of this product is bright and powerful, and I like the original packaging of the original. The silver brushed metal background provides a nice clean background for colored writing and patterns. This will give people a good feeling. This is more powdery in texture compared to the original which has a more sticky type base, this one does have a slight white cast when it’s first applied but brushes out easily. Another point that needs to be emphasized is that this product is different from other products of the same type in that it will not leave a white powder on your head after use. This is what I like very much.
