Is the MAC Paint Pot worth it? *wear test

What are your thoughts on eyeshadow primers? Honestly for a long time I thought they were useless. I mostly just applied a glitter powder eyeshadow to my lids and called it a day. I heard a lot of hype about the MAC Paint Pots: MAC - Pro Longwear Paint Pot Eyeshadow
so I decided to invest in the lighter matte shade closest to my skin tone: Soft Ochre. Keyword: matte—most of the shades in this range, like the popular “painterly” are SHIMMER formulas which...why tho??? The point of eyeshadow primers is to limit creasing, extend wear time, and protect your shadow against oils that your eyelid produces during the day (everyone’s lids sweat!). I have pretty sensitive eyes so I have to be careful of what I put on them—I can use a liquid eyeshadow if I leave it far away enough from my lash line & prep with an eye cream first, but what would happen if I added a primer on top of that? Let’s do a wear test! Application—8:30 AM: Today is a work day so I usually don’t wear any eye makeup, but I wanted to look a lil fancy since I am forced to wear a mask while I work! I did not apply mascara, I’m still looking for a formula that doesn’t burn my eyes. I dabbed the primer on MY RIGHT eye (see photos) and remembered that I needed to blend it quickly—it dries down in like 10 seconds! I thank myself for choosing to wear a liquid shadow formula. I apply the liquid shadow—Stila’s Glitter & Go formula stila - Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow across my entire lid into my crease. I have hooded eyes so I don’t mind if there is a hard stop, as it won’t be visible unless my eyes are closed. I keep my eyes closed until the formula is completely dry (3-5 mins) and head to work! External forces: Toward the end of my day I experienced some glitter fallout from my non-primed eye. It happens with this formula as it contains chunky glitters. So my usual suggestion would be to only wear this for a few hours at a time without a primer! But the primed side stayed strong. Wear test complete—4:30 PM: I get home from work to asses the damage. I am VERY surprised to see that the primed side looks almost exactly the same as it did this morning! The non-primed side had some fallout and glitter loss while the primed side kept it all in place. My eyes only felt a little dry at the end of the day which I attribute to the eye cream—this is a VERY matte formula. Final thoughts: I think this is a great shadow base to protect your shadow from eyelid oils and for longevity. I do not think this would be good to use for cut creases, as it dries down almost immediately. If you have SUPER OILY eyelids this is the primer for you! Rating: 4/5. This is just too drying to me to use without an eye cream underneath.

Glitters are a must, but are they better in liquid or solid?
As a huge fan of these sparking glitters on the eyelids, I am always going to these fine shining particles for the final touch of my eye makeup. And today, I am going to review two of the glitters that I like the most among all the others, one liquid and the other solid. Stila Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow I got it in a three-piece kit from Sephora and they are in mini size. And this shade is the one that I am always going for a fresh tone eye look. Being a liquid is super long-lasting, and you can still see them after a long day. And one trick is that sometimes I would use them on my eyelashes and it’s actually easy to do that cause the brush is small and easy to control so that when you blink, other people could see the sparkles on your eyelashes and that’s so special. But you tend to waste it because it would be more natural if you first put it on your hands and then blend it on your eyelid. That is maybe the only con I can find with this product. Kiko Sparking Holiday Metallic Eyeshadow I feel like I can use this little eyeshadow for the rest of my life! I mean, I’ve been using it for more than a year, and it’s like brand-new. So you can see the color is golden, and of course, it would go better with a warm tone eye makeup, which is also my favorite. The glitters are kinda sparse so it’s very natural, but it’s also glowing enough that will add an extra eye-catching shine to your eye makeup. The con of this product, and I guess it’s also common for solid eyeshadow is that it is not so long-lasting. But it won’t get you awkward by falling on your cheeks and stuff. Overall, I would still highly recommend it because its shine is so beautiful and it only costs like three or four dollars, such a steal!

Flawless Wedding Makeup Tutorial ⭐️
I just got married this past week, so I thought I would share how I did my makeup for my special day. I was going for a more natural/neutral look and focus on products that would hold up through my tears. My skin tone is fair with pink undertones My skin type is sensitive combo & acne prone EYES: SHADOW. The eyes are arguably the stars of the show. Eyes are also so personal—I have hooded eyes so I have to use darker shadows to manipulate my eye shape. I started off with Mac’s Paint Pot in Soft Ochre MAC - Pro Longwear Paint Pot Eyeshadow and set it with the Tartelette in Bloom Palette tarte - Tartelette In Bloom Clay Eyeshadow Palette shade “flower child.” Then I went in with “smarty pants” in my crease, creating a dramatic crease since my eyes are hooded. I continued deepening my crease and outer V with the shades “rebel” and “leader,” and blended out the upper edges with “charmer” on my brow bone. I mirrored the blend of “rebel” and “smarty pants” on my lower lash line. I finished off with “funny girl” on my lids! EYES: LINER + MASCARA: I feel like eyeshadow always looks a little funny until liner and lashes. I started off by giving myself a super thin line with the Urban Decay BLACK Perversion liner URBAN DECAY - Perversion Waterproof Fine-Point Eye Pen . I have ultimate control since it has a brush tip. Shake before use! Then, I decided to use the Urban Decay Subversion Lash Primer URBAN DECAY - Subversion Lash Primer Deluxe Sample I love this stuff! I finished off my lashes with Nars Climax NARS - Climax Mascara and the primer kept it LOCKED ON. FACE: I went a little rogue with my foundation and decided to try a sample I had of the Charlotte Tilbury - Airbrush Flawless Longwear Foundation and I fell in love. With my elf “flawless foundation” brush, I used the shade “1” and it was a little pale for me but I bronzed up using the Fenty powder bronzer FENTY BEAUTY - Sun Stalk'r Instant Warmth Bronzer in the shade “shady biz” and it worked perfectly with the Urban Decay blush brush. Then I went in and blended out the rare beauty blush in “grace” Rare Beauty - Soft Pinch Liquid Blush , and since that is a matte blush I went in with my Becca liquid highlighter on my fingers over it to brighten it up BECCA - Shimmering Skin Perfector Liquid Highlighter . NOTE: I didn’t use any setting spray or powder and makeup stayed on for 12+ hours! BROWS: my brows are pretty naturally full so I just lightly filled them in with e.l.f. - Ultra Precise Brow Pencil and e.l.f. - Wow Brow Gel to hold them in place. LIPS: I also kept my lips simple since we wore masks all day—essence - Soft Contouring Lipliner all over and chapstick on top. #CheriePartner

CHANEL SPRING 2021 RUNWAY INSPIRED MAKEUP✨
I rarely do a smoky eye because I think it washes me out but the Chanel spring/summer 2021 runway makeup only had the smoky eye on the top of their lid. I thought I would try it out to see how it would look on me. Working with black shadows can be a nightmare but here’s how I pulled off the look with no fallout. Products used: got2b - Göt2b Ultra Glued Invincible Styling Gel MAC - Pro Longwear Paint Pot Eyeshadow in soft ochre RIMMEL - Scandaleyes Shadow Stick in black mail pretty VULGAR - Nightingale Eyeshadow Palette Rare Beauty - Liquid Touch Weightless Foundation CHANEL - ULTRA LE TEINT Ultrawear All-Day Comfort Flawless Finish Foundation NARS - Radiant Creamy Concealer benefit - Watt’s Up! Cream Highlighter laura mercier - Translucent Pressed Setting Powder MARC JACOBS BEAUTY - O!Mega Bronzer Perfect Bronzer ANASTASIA Beverly Hills - Dewy Set Setting Spray Coconut Vanilla NYX - Slim Lip Pencil How I recreated the look: -First I preppedmy skin with moisturizer and primer -then I went in with the hair gel and brushed my brow hairs upwards as the models brows appeared -I primed my lids with some the paint pot. This product is slightly sticky but used with cream products it works really well to blend out. This product also ensures your look will last all day with no creasing. - I applied the eyeshadow stick on my lids with a flat crease brush. This product is pigmented and super creamy so it is easy to work with. The tip is very large and works well to cover lid space. The only thing is this product can be hard to sharpen because of its size. -To smoke out the liner a used the shade ‘after midnight.’ It is a grayish black matte shade which matched perfect to the inspiration because their eyeshadow didn’t appear to be really black. This shadows was smooth and didn’t create any harsh/ uneven blending. -next I went in with a mixture of the two foundations for a dewy finish as it appears the models have very dewy skin. -next I added some concealer under my under eyes to brighten up the area -I used benefits what’s up highlighter to highlight my cheekbones, down the bridge of my nose, my brow bone, and the inner corner of my eyes -next I set my face with powder. -I lightly contoured and set the make up with setting spray -I applied some mascara to my top and bottom lashes -lastly I lined and filled in my lips I think the end results turned out similar to how the models looked. I like it because the face and the lips are very clean and the eyes are the makeup focus. This a great way to incorporate a smoky eye into your makeup look as it only is intense on the top of the eyes. Lots of mascara on the lower lash line balances out the look. #CheriePartner

My 3 Favourite Eyeshadows
My 3 Favourite Eyeshadows
Collecting makeup truly brings me joy, and of the eyeshadows that I have played with throughout the years, I have narrowed my favorites down to these three eyeshadows: Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow, Clinique Shadow Trio, and Nars Eyeshadow Duo. Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter #Perlina: I cannot live without glitter eyeshadows because I love fancy and lively eye makeup. I find that Stila’s liquid eyeshadow is by far one of the superior glitter eyeshadows that I have tried. Its shade and texture just work so well for me. This eyeshadow is in a white translucent color that encompasses different shades of glitter, such as blue, yellow and pink, which really adds dimension. Dotting this onto eyelids really adds an extra spark and specialness to the whole look. Because of its liquid texture, it stays on the eyes better than powder eyeshadows. I literally cannot find one single bad thing about this product! Clinique Shadow Trio #01 sunset glow, 06 daybreak, AA French vanilla: This eyeshadow trio has all the most basic yet must have colors, including a white beige color, white shimmer and light brown color, which is perfect for an everyday occasion in my opinion. Because it is so compact and the colors compliment each other well, I always carry it in my purse and bring it to travels with me. The colors are very neutral and enhance my eyes naturally, and the texture feels very smooth and creamy. Even though the color payoff isn’t very high, but it allows me to achieve a natural look, and it is easy to build up. Therefore, I still highly recommend this product. Nars Eyeshadow Duo #Kuala Lumpur: Its combination of colors suits my taste, which consists of a nude pink shade with gold shimmers and a dark burgundy shade also with gold shimmers. I find that gold shimmers complete my neutral skin tone really, even if the base colors are more suited for cool skin tones. These two eyeshadows give me a rosy and deep eye look, which I absolutely love! I often use this for a more special occasion where I want my eyes to stand out. The color payoff is really high and applies smoothly.

Worlds Best Eyeliner? 100% yes! ✨
Worlds Best Eyeliner? 100% yes! ✨
This it Cosmetics - Superhero Liquid Eyeliner Pen is unlike any of my usual eyeliners! When I say this baby can last day it can! I doy daily makeup look at 7:00am and come home around 4:00pm! The makeup look featured in this picture was about 8 hours old and as you can see the eyeshadow creased however the main star / the eyeliner ... did not! It’s a full black liquid eyeliner with a brush tip that applies like a dream! I do a winged liner look everyday and I need a strong eyeliner to do a flawless look with minimal mistakes. I d my wing free hand since I’ve been doing it for years but I certainly need a good tool to do that! The day I had this look was just a work day - usually I do workout in my makeup since I go straight after work, but not this time. Even though I didn’t go to the gym with this look, l bet it will last through the workout session. For reference, I gave oily combo skin and have a light to medium skin tone. Since I also have oily eye lids I need to put an eye primer on as well. Like I said I love me a good eyeliner and this is one to be on the look out for! It retails for $24.00 but it will last you a good six months. I so recommend this eyeliner to anyone trying to get the best wing look with the best eyeliner! I started using my eyeliner a month ago and I can’t wait to keep using it everyday until it dries. Let me know if you have used this eyeliner before? 😉

Is UD’s shadow primer worth it? Wear test!
Is UD’s shadow primer worth it? Wear test!
What are your thoughts on eyeshadow primers? I really only use them when I’m going out to an event. One of my favorites has been the Urban Decay Shadow Primer Potion URBAN DECAY - Original Eyeshadow Primer Potion . My favorite formula is the anti-aging, but here I am using the original formula. For science! Here is my experience with a side by side comparison and a wear test: Application—8:30 AM: Today is a work day so I’m going to be wearing a face mask for 8+ hours today. This won’t affect my shadow per se, but I decide to go with a simple all over shimmer (the Tarte Chrome Paint in “Top Yacht” tarte - Chrome Paint Shadow Pot) and I first apply the primer potion to only MY RIGHT (like—my right, your left) eye. Upon application the shadow clung way better to my right/primed eye! This is a primer that doesn’t dry down all the way so it makes your shadow POP! It doesn’t sting my eyes or make application any easier. *note: I usually don’t wear mascara. Throughout the day: My eyes are pretty sensitive so there is a chance of my itching them (after washing my hands of course!!) and that affects the wear of the shadow. My non-primed/left eye got pretty itchy but to my surprise, the primed eye didn’t itch AT ALL! Wear test complete—5:30 PM: I get home from work to asses the damage. My eyes look pretty similar TBH! I have less fallout/transfer on my primed eye, but they creased about the same. It looks like this primer doesn’t really help with eyelid oil! It did end up helping with fallout though! Final thoughts: I love this primer! It has been one of my faves for so long. They also have a few other formulas (anti-aging, Eden, Sin) to use with different looks. Urban Decay is cruelty free and this product is bomb so I highly recommend it! Rating: 5/5. This has been a favorite but I’m shocked that it protected my itchy eyes!

Warm Tone Palette: Dupes vs High-End Products
Warm Tone Palette: Dupes vs High-End Products
COLOURPOP-FEM ROSA - KARRUECHE X COLOURPOP Price: $18 This palette is a straight-up warm and a hint of the neutral colour like. I personally recommend this palette out of all the colour pop palettes. This swatch has six mattes in it. It also has the shade ‘Ladylike’, you can set your eye primer with this and that’s what I have to do with this shade. It’s kind of like creamy light banana shade. You can also use this to highlight your brow bone and your inner corner if you want a matte highlight. ‘Chick’: if you want to highlight your brow bone with it, it is more gold and it’s glitterier. It also has some nice ledge shades, like ‘Dainty’, ‘Mademoiselle’, and ‘Empress’. You get 4 transition shades: ‘Dear’, ‘Missy’, ‘Damsel’ and ‘Duchess’. The first three shades are warmer, and ‘Duchess’ is more neutral. So, you have that option definitely with transition shades it really directs where your look is going. Naked Heat Collection by Urban Decay Price: $54 It is definitely warm tones too. It has 12 rectangular shape shadows, a large mirror, and a double-sided brush as usual. The shades set up from light to dark. I’m going to quote urban decay on this, it says this is the most shade driven Naked palette urban decay has ever created. And I completely agree with that. These shades in this are very monochromatic. There are too many ‘RED’ in it. It only has four shades are neutral and one shade is kind of purple. There are 7 matte shades and 5 shimmer shades. In terms of the shade, the two palettes are similar. Urban Decay is more expensive, but I don't think it performs better. If you want to travel with one of them, I think you'll prefer COLOURPOP because it's much lighter in weight.

MAC PRO LONGWEAR PAINT POT
MAC PRO LONGWEAR PAINT POT
MAC - Pro Longwear Paint Pot Eyeshadow Meet my everyday go-to eyeshadow. It’s beautiful creamy, smooth to apply and gives off the perfect amount of pigment. The shade Groundwork is my perfect taupe brown that’s suitable for all occasions! It’s a solid cream product that is emollient enough for my finger or brush to pick up a lot of color! I’ve had this for at least 2+ years and it hasn’t even started to dry out yet- most cream eyeshadows dry out within months! My trick is to store them upside down. The longevity is insane and it never creases on me even when I’ve worn it for 12+ hours! I have this in three shades and definitely want more in the future! Have you tried this before or would you?
