Silicone face scrubbers: manual or electric?
*disclaimer: the Dermalogica cleansing mitt is only available for purchase along with the precleanse balm product, but I will only be reviewing the mitt in this review. Cleansing tools: worth it? What makes them better than just washing with your hands or a cloth? Well, as an acne-prone lady I enjoy using silicone cleansing tools that are anti-microbial, meaning they stop/do not allow the growth of bacteria unlike other types of cleansing brushes. Let’s break down why I like each of these products and whether they are worth it or not! Manual or electric? Manual: dermalogica - Precleanse Balm

relpixelaIf you scrub too hard it can be bad but you don’t have to “press” it into your skin to get a good clean! Trust me I have super sensitive skin with rosacea so I feel the sensitive skin train!! It’s all about balancing your skin barrier

Top Cleansers of 2020!
Starting off with my top first cleanses because it’s important to double cleanse!!! Top Oil Cleanse: TATCHA - Pure One Step Camellia Oil Cleanser This cleanser is one that I won’t stop talking about. It’s a great texture that emulsifies easily and doesn’t leave a film on my skin at all. It’s pricey, but it’s an experience. Top Cleansing Balm: FARMACY - Green Clean Makeup Meltaway Cleansing Balm I picked this up while travelling (sigh... early 2020...) and I was surprised how much I enjoyed this. I’m very much one to not buy into the hype of products, but now I understand why there is so much hype! It’s a sorbet texture that emulsifies and doesn’t leave a film on the skin! Top Misc. First Cleanse: Dr Dennis Gross - Hyaluronic Marine Makeup Removing Meltaway Cleanser (📍) This is a new find from me, but none the less, it’s amazing. This cleanser is very unique, because it’s one that you don’t have to rinse... let me explain. So this as a milky cleanser that melts away face and eye makeup or SPF, but can we wiped away with a face cloth, like a Makeup Eraser. I honestly didn’t think that this would work, but I’m actually very surprised by this. I was sent this product by the DDG team and am featured in a video on the @ddgcanadateam instagram using this cleanser, go check it out to learn more! And now with the second cleanses. New Favourite: skinfix - Barrier+ Foaming Oil Cleanser This was actually more of a new find because I began using this in September. At first, I was confused because of the “foaming oil cleanser” title. I went to use this as my first cleanse one night and it went horribly. Now that I know that this is a second cleanse, I use it almost every night. This and my FOREO - LUNA fofo (📍) pair amazing together. OG Favourite: comfort zone - comfort zone Essential Cleansing Milk I got a facial done around May, and the aesthetician used this product, I instantly fell in love. This does have a smell to it, but it’s so lovely. This is gentle and hydrating so I don’t have to worry about my skin being dry, red and irritated. Love this stuff!
PM Cleansing Routine
Step 1: Oil Cleanse TATCHA - Pure One Step Camellia Oil Cleanser As I have just finished my last oil cleanser, I started to use this one. For me personally, I prefer cleansing oils over balms because of the micro-plastics that cleansing balms seem to always have. So far I’ve been really liking this one, not only for when I have makeup on, but when I just have sunscreen on too. It hasn’t clogged my pores yet, and I’ve heard great things about this one! Step 2: Water Cleanse/Foreo skinfix - Barrier+ Foaming Oil Cleanser I recent got the skinfix - #skinfixme Starter Kit and I’m loving everything in it so far. Don’t get confused by the name (as I did), this isn’t an oil cleanser in a sense that it will take your makeup off. This just means that it has coconut cleansers and not stripping cleansing agents like SLS. This cleanser is more geared towards dryer skin types, because it doesn’t make the skin feel tight after cleansing. FOREO - LUNA fofo (📍) Now for the Foreo, contrary to what people believe, I truly think that cleansing brushes makes a difference in a cleansing routine. This specific Foreo is regular price $119 CAD, has two metal sensors on the back to measure moisture levels in your skin, and creates a cleansing routine (speed and vibration) based on the moister levels in the different places on the face. At first, I thought that this might be a gimmick, but I take “pictures” of my skin with these sensors every week and it changes every time. I love this thing! 📍= product was sent to me for free

dermalogica - Precleanse Balm I have to admit I LOVE this dermalogica product! I swear by it always. I used the precleanse oil at beauty school which I like but it just didn’t appeal greatly to me but this... IS A GAME CHANGER. Such an amazing product ahh, I could go on ALL DAY! I’m nearly at the end of my bottle and ready to buy another but I think I want to try some beauty cleansers do you have any recs?
Pre cleanse balm and oils?🤔
Hi everyone! I’ve known about the pre cleanse system for quite awhile and I recently received a sample of the Dermalogica pre cleanse balm, I’ve only used it a hand full of times on different occasions so i can’t give it a fair review but so far it has left my skin feeling really clean ! I was wondering if anyone with congested skin/black heads/ oily skin and enlarged pores could let me know if pre cleanse oils or balms helped them with combating these problems and what ones worked best for them and any other information that could potentially help! I’ve been on the journey of chemical exfoliants AHA/BHA which have honestly worked a treat! As well as serums to help with sebum production! Thanks so much for taking the time to read this and I appreciate any advice! ❤️😊
TouchBeauty Electric Facial Brush
ouchBeauty Electric Facial Brush Winter is here and my skin is dryer than ever! I wanted to get a facial brush to deeply exfoliate my skin and remove the flaky dry skin I get this time of year. Another reason I purchased this product is that it claims to remove blackheads and any deep dirt and oils. It came with 3 attachment heads: 1) bristle brush for deep cleansing 2) foam head for apply creams, foundation or exfoliating facial wash 3) silicone bristle head for deep cleansing I’ve used this device for twice a week for 3 months.here are my thoughts: I cannot use the bristle brush (1). I have sensitive skin and find it excruciating to use. (2) I love for removing make up with some facial wash. The foam head is so soft and gently, I could use this daily without concern. (3) I love the silicone bristle brush. Perfect for sensitive skin. I definitely noticed it removed my black head around my nose after the first use. I like that the device has two speeds - I swap between the speeds depending on the sensitivity of the area. I also like the carrying case. It’s compact and I have been able to travel easy with the kit (and without losing any parts) . Price: I paid $30 from Macy’s for this product. I think this is a fair price point for 3 brushes and carry case. Replacement heads are $8. Recommend: I would recommend head (2), (3) for everyone. Head (1) I would not recommend to those with sensitive skin or a current acne break out
PIXNOR-Facial Cleansing Brush
Worst skincare duo for your skin 🥶
I really was so surprised to see how many great reviews this product has. FOREO LUNA didn't really do much for me. This was too harsh for my face. It jarred my face because of the powerful vibrations... Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser, I really wanted to love this , I heard amazing things about this cleanser and it was just a big NO for me . It does clean your face but it left me SUPER dry and I have oily skin. Such a bummer. I also have acne and breakouts and it made them WORSEE! I tried to use it for a week but I just couldn't! My acne and my face was super red and inflamed so I don't recommend this product to acne prone skin. You can see how this cleanser changes my skin, makes acne worse than before using it!
Cetaphil-Gentle Skin Cleanser
Clean & Clear review. Was it worth it?
Clean&Clear - MORNING BURST Facial Scrub Clean&Clear - Share NIGHT RELAXIN Deep Cleaning Face Wash Clean&Clear - Morning Burst Oil-Free Gentle Daily Face Wash I say.....YES AND I RECOMMEND IT! It's actually a good skincare routine for me considering I don't have acne or blackheads at all so this works great for my skin to stay smooth and not dry and flaky. I do unfortunately have skin irregularities and I am hoping that it would go away☺️ I give them all five stars because they all do help my skin get better. It's like a creamy, jelly, feel and has lots of hydrating beads. All of them smell great as well! It works for anyone skin types. Especially for ones that just need hydration and moisture. I would say the night time face wash actually makes me feel refreshed and ready for bed✨ keep being beautiful peeps!❤️
Clean&Clear-MORNING BURST Facial Scrub
Kylie Skin Walnut Face Scrub
A very controversial product. I’ve only used it twice and I don’t hate it but I don’t love it. I love the light pink packaging and the overall aesthetic of her brand. Physical exfoliants can be very abrasive and leave micro tears which could cause acne, infection, irritation etc. I believe that chemical exfoliants are really effective and not abrasive at all. If you plan to use a physical exfoliant use an enzyme scrub. It’s a physical exfoliant plus a chemical exfoliant all in one and in my opinion is a lot more effective then just a scrub. Like the @katesomervilleskincare exfolikate intensive pore exfoliating treatment, love that product. I have noticed I have some breakouts on my cheeks after using the walnut scrub last night. I will no longer be using this product on my face and for now on just use it as a body scrub. - - *Disclaimer* just because this product didn’t work for me does not mean it won’t work for you. Everybody’s skin is different and needs different things.
KYLIE COSMETICS-Walnut Face Scrub
This product is super refreshing! I use it once daily or every other day because it is gentle when it comes to exfoliating and also does not leave your skin feeling dried out. I’m a bit bummed I didn’t get the gel cleanser of this brand but the exfoliation aspect is great and they dissolve while washing. It’s got a little foam action and you don’t need much product. This hasn’t helped with any of the aspects for acne but I like having it in my routine to get the exfoliation needed. Would recommend for anyone looking for a great effective wash that isn’t stripping but leaves you with smooth skin that feels totally hydrated and clean. Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Exfoliating Cleanser

My first K-Beauty Products
I’ve recently tried two products from the K-Beauty brand Elfiso. First up we have the Pure Skin Charcoal Cleansing Foam: It claims to deeply cleanse pores and fight acne while hydrating the skin. My thoughts: I’ve seen results in my pores and less blackheads after 2 weeks! My skin feels soft and smooth after use. The scent is mild compared to other charcoal products I’ve used. It’s a gel to foam consistency. However, it’s no match for waterproof makeup (Benefit They’re Real mascara, I’m talking about you), so on make up days I will have to use my Clinique Take the Day Off makeup remover after cleansing my face. Price: $11 online but they sell multiple Esfilo products in TjMax ;) Recommend: no breaks outs, less black heads and soft skin... definitely would recommend . Next up was the Esfolio Tea Tree Moisture Foot Masks. These were sooo good! Super weird sensation putting your feet into cold and slippy moisturizer bags, but once in it feels amazing. I got a 3 pack which I used over a month. My feet are definitely softer and I noticed the dead skin peeling away (gross I know) a couple days later. I’ll be repurchasing these when the nice weather returns to DC . They are available online for $5 which I think is a fair price point. I would recommend ! #Esfolio - Pure Skin Charcoal Cleansing Foam[products]#[FourStars] #Esfolio - Tea Tree Moisture Foot Mask[products]#[FiveStars]
