🍊Orange Peel Skin? Wtf? ”Orange Peel Skin” is referring to a texture of the skin - when pores appear large, more dimpled, + even lax/droopy. People with this texture (🙋‍♀️) can never get makeup to look right! 🍊What causes it? SUM DAMAGE ☀️🔥🆘 - caused by years of unprotected exposure to UV rays. Sun damage promotes + speeds up the aging process of our skin. Slowing down the production of collagen + elastin, the stuff that is the glue holding our pores together, causes pores to appear larger and saggy or stretched. 🧐AGE - Aging affects our skins production of collagen + elastin in the same way as sun damage. They slow down. Derms say this usually starts happening in our 20s + we need to take preventative care starting then. Aging also slows our cell turnover rate, making it likely that cells will build up around the pores, enhancing their shadows and making them appear larger 💦DEHYDRATION/Compromised skin barrier -!Dehydration is just plain bad for the skin, obviously. But when our skin is in this condition, our sebaceous glands overproduce, leaving a cellophane-like, rough+shiny sheen to our skin - increasing the appearance of texture + pores. 👩‍🔬What can we do? Remember that actual pore size is fully determined by genetics, and pores do not shrink or close or open. However, there are steps we can take to reduce the appearance of pores ☺️ 💦Hydrate + Moisturize - use hydrating serums & moisturizers with good ingredients like Hyaluronuc Acid, Glycerin, ceramides, peptides, oils with omega fatty acids, panthenol, aloe, + great occlusives to lock in that moisture 💪Retinol - using an OTC or prescription strength retinol will increase the rate of skin cell turnover. Meaning you will speed up the process of shedding those dead skin cells and pushing all the gunk in your skin + to the surface to leave. This leaves behind healthier, plumper, less damaged skin. Make sure you use retinols safely! ✨Exfoliating Treatments - Using a mild exfoliating leave on treatment in toner or serum form every day or using stronger wash off treatments 1-3x a week will smooth out texture. Using a combination of AHA or PHA with BHA will be effective as they work on different levels of our skin. 🐄Collagen Supplements - because the loss of collagen is at least partially responsible for orange peel skin, replenishing collagen levels in our body will plump skin. Collagen is too large of a molecule to penetration the epidermis when applied topically, thus to reap benefits taken supplements is the most effective way to encourage collagen production Products I use-

regshugsstrugsluvsI feel your pain babe 😩 I’m working on it and it has gotten a little better. I just didn’t take care of my skin for 10 years so it’ll take awhile to get better. Are you using any products that are working for you?

How many masks are too many...?
I used to love masking! I’d do at least 1 to 2 a week. Now I’ve gotten lazy and just don’t do them and I have so many I need to start using before they expire! For me, I feel having an exfoliating mask and a hydrating mask is all you need. Unless your using the product consistently you’re not going to see changes. Masks are great for plumping up the skin, adding hydration and even a soft glow. But of all the masks I’ve used I’ve never found long term effects from them (except exfoliating). One way I like to use them is right before a big night (or day) out. To give my skin that added boost. Some that are great for doing so are: FARMACY - Honey Potion Renewing Antioxidant Hydration Mask GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon + AHA Glow Sleeping Mask (use as a 10 min mask) SUMMER FRIDAYS - Jet Lag Mask FIRST AID BEAUTY - Hello FAB Ginger & Turmeric Vitamin C Jelly Mask And many others that help brighten and hydrate! I will also not go without my exfoliating masks which I do once a week. Some faves are: PAULA'S CHOICE - 25% AHA + 2% BHA Exfoliant Peel YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Yerba Mate Resurfacing Energy Facial The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution HERBIVORE - Prism 20% AHA + 5% BHA Exfoliating Glow Facial And a few others I have that I liked to use; BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Tea Tree Detox Mask ELEMIS - Superfood Vital Veggie Mask bliss - Mighty Marshmallow Mask Unfortunately as I said, I just don’t mask as often as I used to. And I feel it isn’t necessary. If you like to then I suggest you get yourself an exfoliating and moisturizing/hydrating mask and you should be good to go. Treatments are where you want to really zone in and specialize your finances for. Is it Friday yet? Ugh! I’ve been down all week with a neck I cannot turn - ouchie! And a migraine on top of that! I’m ready to knock my dogs out cause they are wanting out every half hour (it’s nice here ⛅️) Much ❤️ my skinnies 🍒

Skin Update ✨✨
Okay this is a totally non filtered sun photo of my skin. Still working on minor texture this is due to my new skin routine (I posted about my morning and will post my night). I try and show my skin with new routines and products I use because I get so many ! The number one thing I will say is be consistent! I saw a post from @MelaninSkinCareAddict(great post you should go check it out) and I loved it and it inspired me to show results from some advice she saw. My last skin update was 12/22 which I showed a unfiltered close up of my skin and the breakout I had endure out of the states! I will say for texture, hyperpigmentation, and acne you need: effective vitamin C serum- should have vitamin E (tocopherol), hyaluronic acid, and Ferulic acid insta natural - Vitamin C Serum Mad Hippie - Vitamin C Serum retinol- DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel is my first go to, but now I use The Ordinary - Retinol 0.5% in Squalane GLOW RECIPE - Avocado Melt Retinol Sleeping Face Mask (I use this on nights I don’t use The Ordinary retinol oil .. 2xs a week) cleanser made for you skin: should be tailored and effective my current faves: Murad - AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser (2x week) COSRX - Low PH Good Morning Gel Cleanser (only when I oil cleanse) (3xs a weeks when I wear my night mask) PEACH & LILY - Power Calm Hydrating Gel Cleanser (mostly for nights) toner: a great toner will be your friend! This is important for removing dirts and oils. If you wear makeup this is a necessity. PAULA'S CHOICE - Enriched Calming Toner Murad - Clarifying Toner innisfree - Jeju Lava Seawater Lotion sunscreen: at least spf30 TULA SKINCARE - Daily Sunscreen Gel Broad Spectrum SPF 30 ELEMIS - Daily Defence Shield SPF30 moisturizer: a great moisturizer is your friend! So my faves fresh - Lotus Anti-Aging Night Moisturizer at night SUNDAY RILEY - Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream during the day for hyperpigmentation before sunscreen ✨✨✨✨ Other things I love that have helped COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence I use this day and night after my toner. If you neee hydration this is my current go to! SUNDAY RILEY - U.F.O. Acne Treatment Face Oil I now use this on days I don’t use my vitamin C in the morning. PEACH & LILY - Glass Skin Refining Serum This has replaced my niacinamide from The Ordinary. If you want glass skin use this consistently! CLARISMA - Namaste Glow Energizing Face Mask I use this as my daily face mask once a week. I will be posting my detailed night routine soon as I’m redoing my entire on IG 🥰🥰

Niacinamide For Acne, Dark Marks and More!
Hailed as the new "it" and “holy grail” ingredient in skincare, niacinamide is an active form of Vitamin B3.  It's available in many skin care products and one of the best you can add to your skincare routine! Not all formulas and concentrations are the same or function the same ways. So here are the top products I’ve tried and all about how niacinamide works: PAULA'S CHOICE - Niacinamide 20% Treatment ✨Improves chronic bumpy skin/orange-peel texture ✨Reduces appearance of sagging stretched pores ✨Brightens blotchy tone, fades post-acne marks ✨Fights advanced signs of aging  PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Niacinamide Booster ✨Reduces rough texture ✨Minimizes appearance of large pores ✨Brightens a dull complexion  ✨Fights fine lines and early signs of aging  SKINCEUTICALS - Discoloration Defense Skin Discoloration Serum ✨Lightens and improves appearance of dark spots ✨Brightens skin tone and texture  The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% ✨Reduces acne and dark spot appearance ✨Reduces pore congestion ✨Balances oil production in skin PETER THOMAS ROTH - Pro Strength Niacinamide Discoloration Treatment ✨Fades discoloration and post-acne marks ✨Brightens and repairs uneven skin tone  SATURDAY SKIN - Bright Potion Probiotic Power Serum ✨Improves skin barrier protection, hydration and tone ✨Nourishes skin and promotes luminous appearance   #Apostrophe - Azelaic Acid 15% + Niacinamide 4% Formula[products]#[FiveStars] ✨Smooths fine lines and wrinkles  ✨Improves skin barrier protection and moisture  ✨Brightens skin and fades dark marks  PEACE OUT - Microneedling Dark Spot Brightening Dots ✨Micro-needle patches for faster results  ✨Lightens appearance of dark spots ✨Dark patches become clear and even How niacinamide works: ✨Skin friendly - every skin type can use it ✅Best for acne-prone skin, oily skin, dry skin, combination skin, sensitive skin 🧪Works by inhibiting oil production skin which is beneficial for acne-prone and oily skin types. As a cream or serum, it’s non-irritating and very tolerable compared to other skin treatments. This makes it favorable for people with dry or sensitive skin. ✨Anti-inflammatory - skin calming  ✅Best for - treating inflammatory acne, acne rosacea, skin redness 🧪Works to inhibit inflammatory pathway elements within the body. This  subsequently prevents migration of products involved in inflammation to the skin! As a result, skin becomes less inflamed and irritated.  ✨Brightening - a miracle dark mark corrector ✅Best for - dark marks, post-acne hyperpigmentation, dull complexion 🧪Works to inhibit the transfer of skin's light absorbing pigment, melanin, into the outer layers of the skin. This leads to an overall faded appearance of spots. ✨Anti- Aging - treatment and prevention ✅Best for fine lines, sallow skin, wrinkles  🧪Works by supplementing antioxidants that fight against skin’s free radicals associated with aging and photoaging (skin aging due to sun/UV exposure.)  🧪Works by preventing deposits of cellular components in skin cells that make skin stiff and rigid during photoaging. The appearance of creases and wrinkles become reduced. ✨Completion correcting - smoother texture and complexion  ✅Best for uneven skin texture and tone  🧪Works by supplementing an antioxidant that promotes healthy skin cell growth. Skin becomes renewed and vibrant.  🧪Works by increasing the production of ceramides which maintain skin’s barrier. Skin looks moisturized and softer. Overall, niacinamide is a safe, versatile product and fabulous addition to a daily skincare regimen.

Saturday skin brand spotlight!
The Saturday skin pretty pop probiotic power whipped cream is a soft and luxurious whipped cream with probiotics activated by probiotics for healthy and radiant looking skin! It can be solutions for fine lines, wrinkles, dryness, loss of firmness and elasticity. The texture of this is so creamy and thick and it feels like you are putting whipped cream on your face, it is so soft and dense and does a great job at moisturizing my face! I have been using this for about 3 months and I purchased it from a friend recommending it to me, and I fell in love. It didn’t make me break out, it’s so so hydrating, and I saw great results in my skins moisture level! I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for an amazing moisturizer for dry or oily skin. It is more on the pricier side but is so worth it! This is why this is one of my favorite products from Saturday skin! Another one of my favorite products the Saturday skin wide awake brightening eye cream is a hydrating eye cream with date seed extract that illuminates and refreshes the eye area! It can help dryness, dark circles, and puffiness under the eyes. The texture of this is a very lightweight cream, that is so cooling under the eyes but moisturizes so nice! I purchased this eye cream about 3 months ago in a set with 3 other products from Saturday skin because when this set came out I knew I had to get it, and when I tried it I immediately fell in love. I use it so often and will definitely repurchase after I run out! It is so hydrating, didn’t break me out, and I saw great results in my dark circles when I woke up the morning after using it. I would certainly recommend this to others because it is so amazing and really helps with dark circles and feels so light and creamy under the eyes! It is $46 for 1.01oz which is a great size because you literally only need a little dot to cover both under eyes! One of my least favorite products from the brand is the Saturday skin bright potion probiotic power serum it is a potent serum enriched with encapsulated probiotics activated by probiotics creating a powerful solution for luminous and healthy looking skin! This serum can be used for normal, dry, oily, and combination skin types. This can be solutions for acne prone skin, dryness, and fine lines, wrinkles, dullness, and uneven texture! The texture of this is a thick gel/cream that has little probiotics in it that dissolve in your skin! I have used this for about 3 months and got it in a set with other mini Saturday skin products and really havent seen any results with this serum! This serum didn’t break me out but is really no better then any of my other serums. This product is definitely not worth purchasing for the price of $51 for 1oz because it is not worth it when there are way better cheaper versions out there! I really do love most Saturday skin products though and would definitely recommend trying out this incredible brand, just because some products didn’t work out for me they may be amazing for you! I found this brand about 6 months just from all the hype on instagram! They then came out with a set with four of there products in mini size on Sephora and I immediately got it, it was very well priced as well and I fell in love with all there products!SATURDAY SKIN - Wide Awake Brightening Eye Cream with Avocado SATURDAY SKIN - Pretty Pop Probiotic Power Whipped Cream SATURDAY SKIN - Bright Potion Probiotic Power Serum

Reviewing My Followers Skincare Routines pt. 1
Hey y’all! In today’s post I’ll be reviewing my followers skincare routines! I went through some of y’all’s accounts in search of some routines, then messaged everyone to make sure they were okay with me using their routines in this post! This is only pt. 1 because this post got wayyy to long to include everyone at once! Let me start by saying I’m not an esthetician or dermatologist, nor have I ever claimed to be. I am just a fellow skincare lover who knows a lot about ingredients in skincare. We’re starting off with @Chloe_McRae. Sometimes she decides to double cleanse, and when she does she starts with the#Holifrog - Kissimmee Vitamin F Therapy Balmy Wash[products]#[FourStars] which is $42 for 2.5 fl oz. This has a ton of great hydrating oils, as well as Vitamin F, which is great for helping cell turnover. I would say it’s a great first cleanse for those with dry skin. Next she uses theDRUNK ELEPHANT - Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser Deluxe Sample which is $32. I would say this is a good cleanser. The cleansing agents are gentle and non stripping, and it also has glycerin which is hydrating, and cantaloupe fruit extract which is a hydrating extract full of antioxidants. Other than that, this is a pretty basic cleanser. Next she uses the HERBIVORE - Prism 20% AHA + 5% BHA Exfoliating Glow Facial l which is $58. Because the name is confusing, it’s a gel face mask. This stuff looks gorgeous and the ingredients are too. Along with AHA and BHA, it has aloe and rose water which help your skin to retain moisture. I don’t think it’s worth $58, but it’s pretty good. Next is the PEACH & LILY - Wild Dew Treatment Essence which is $39 for 3.38 fl oz. This essence has glycerin, Nicinamide, and Hylaronic acid. For $39 I expected a lot more. In general, essence is less effective than a serum, so this seems a little expensive for what you get. Then comes theDRUNK ELEPHANT - Sweet Biome Fermented Sake Hydrating Spray which is $42. Yes, $42 for a face mist. Now looking at the ingredients this has glycerin and a small amount of Hylaronic acid. The rest of the ingredients are extracts. Thankfully there isn’t fragrance, but this is a no because it’s so expensive. And finally is the COSRX - BHA Blackhead Power Liquid which is $24. Really this has some Willow water and Nicinamide and that’s it. Okay I freaked out at this point. Nowhere in this routine is sunscreen or moisturizer!!! Nooooo!! We need less acids and more of the basics. Overall I’d say this routine has too many steps. I think you could simplify down to a double cleanse, a cheap but good serum with Hylaronic acid and Nicinamide which seem to be the ingredients that work well for your skin, and the a moisturizer and some spf. Our next routine comes from @WillWorkforMascara. She starts her routine with theCeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin w is $17. This product is great for oily skin, which she has. It has glycerin, nicinamide, and Hylaronic acid so it’s super hydrating. Next she usesThe Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution witch is $8.70. Along with glycolic acid, it has aloe vera water and glycerin. Some people think it’s overly stripping, but for oily skin its great. Now this is where this routine becomes international. She goes in with theMUJI - Boosting Essence Lotion which is $7 for 50 ml. This essence has aloe vera juice and glycerin. It does have quite a bit of fragrance though which makes it a no from me. Next she goes in with the#Pearlessence - Argan Oil + Vitamin E facial oil[products]#[ThreeStars] which is $11.89 for 1.83 fl oz. This product has two ingredients. Vitamin E and Argan oil. Now this is where we really go international. #Human Nature - Sunflower Eye Cream[products]#[TwoStars] and found out that 295 Cuban Peso is $12.29. Now as for the ingredients this eye cream has sunflower oil and glycerin. And fragrance. Fragrance can especially be irritating around the eye area so this is another no. Instead try some thing likeTHE inkey LIST - Caffeine Eye Cream She also uses a eyebrow and eyelash oil called Peach Thy Lash which is 150 Cuban Peso or $6.25. I don’t know anything about this kind of product so I can’t really say if it works. And finally is theLANEIGE - LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask which is $22. This mask has Vitamin C, Hylaronic acid, and glycerin. It seems good to me, but this sort of product is more about the experience, and I haven’t tried it. Again! We need moisturizer and sunscreen! This one also has too many steps so let’s simplify it to cleanser, toner, moisturizer, sunscreen, eyelash oil, and lip mask. Unfortunately this post would be super long if I included everyone, so look out for pt. 2 coming soon! Please cheer for this post if you liked it, comment below your holy grail skincare products, and follow me to join the family and for similar content! -Mae

Update: my acne has reduced A LOT
I’ve been a bit MIA since my last post but here is the progress of my acne. If I were to pinpoint the main reasons why, then it’s these reasons: What I did wrong: - experimenting and using alot of different products. I was in a phase where I loved trying new products and my skin did not like that I was switching products all the time. - I did not spot test new products - overloaded my skin with many products. I don’t know who needs to hear this but a 10 step routine is NOT for acne prone skin. - drank little water each day - used harsh products without re-balancing my skin with soothing products - masked almost everyday What I did to improve it: - reduce the number of products going on my skin. I now use only a max of 3 products in the morning and 5 products at night. - drank 2 litres of water every day - used a soothing pH-balanced toner - used a GENTLE chemical exfoliant - used retinol regularly - masked only every 2-3 days Some products I use in my daily routine that really helped my skin: PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator as an all-over exfoliant PAULA'S CHOICE - BHA 9 Treatment as a spot treatment The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% to fade acne scars Products that I use every 2-3 days that helped my skin: AZCLEAR - Medicated Lotion (mixed with Niacinamide) to fade acne scars DRUNK ELEPHANT - A-Passioni Retinol Cream to bring out new baby skin ANDALOU NATURALS - CannaCell Glow Mask as a gentle exfoliating mask If you are going through something similar just know to take it SLOWLY. The skin is going through trauma and it is not an overnight success. If you have any questions I’m happy to answer.

UPDATE: I Quit Differin
This is a long overdue skincare update but I have quit Differin because it started to strip my skin barrier, and I kept breaking out even after applying the gel. LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel -I’m about to run out of this cleanser and I’m thinking about replacing it with a more moisturizing cleanser from the same brand. This cleanser is excellent but I wish it was a bit more effective PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator -This has been a little too gentle on my skin so I wasn’t able to experience a huge difference after using this product The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 5% + HA -This serum is gentle on my skin and I have noticed an improvement in my skin’s tone VERSED - DEW POINT Moisturizing Gel-Cream -I came back to this moisturizer to give it a second chance and I’ve come to the conclusion that it is better for people with very oily skin and I have combination skin PURITO - Centella Green Level Unscented Sun SPF50+ -This product is a chef’s kiss. It is gentle, hydrating, and very effective at protecting your skin from the sun I am still breaking out but I’m not sure which route to take. I’ve been exfoliating quite a lot and I’m thinking about going the other path and restoring the hell out of my skin. Any recommendations to restore my skin’s barrier and to increase collagen as well as clearing out my pimples and acne scars would be much appreciated!

Better Pick: Physical or Chemical Exfoliation?
Better Pick: Physical or Chemical Exfoliation?
If you want to get rid of dullness and reveal your radiant, glowing skin, your best bet would be to exfoliate. But the thing is, there are two kinds of exfoliation, physical and chemical. Is there a difference in the effects? Which one should you try? Having tried both, I can say these two things with certainty: - There’s a big difference between the effects that I saw after doing both. - There is such a thing as too much exfoliation. Let’s talk about physical exfoliation first. Physical exfoliation refers to exfoliating your skin using products like scrubs and facial tools. With physical exfoliation, you’re literally stripping away the top layer of your skin that contains all the dead cells. Doing so reveals your fresh skin underneath. My first foray into exfoliation was me making use of physical exfoliators. In fact, when I was still in college, my favorite scrub was SKINFOOD - Black Sugar Strawberry Mask Wash Off It contained granules that would gently scrape my dead skin cells, making my skin feel soft and smooth afterward. Plus, the 100 ml tub which cost around $12 was big enough to last for the whole year already. Everything changed when I found out about chemical exfoliation. As its name suggests, the acids in chemical exfoliation help remove the outer layer of the skin. This means that if you do it right, there’s little to no physical damage that could possibly be done to your skin, unlike physical exfoliation. These days, I’m all for chemical exfoliation. Aside from my regular The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution I also have another AHA essence COSRX - AHA 7 Whitehead Power Liquid Both TO’s Glycolic Acid Toner and COSRX’s AHA 7 Liquid costs $18 each for a 240ml bottle and a 100ml bottle respectively. I also use an over-the-counter 30% Glycolic Acid solution twice a month. Their effects may not be as instant as physical exfoliation, but I noticed that they’re more long-term. Back when I was still using a physical exfoliator, my skin would only look good for a few days after exfoliating, but with chemical exfoliators, my skin just looks better and better as time goes by. Remember, too much exfoliation isn’t good, and it can lead to breakouts, redness, and increased sensitivity. Whether you choose chemical or physical exfoliation, always keep in mind that you shouldn’t do it more than a few times per week!

Biossance Squalane + Glycolic Renewal Facial
Biossance Squalane + Glycolic Renewal Facial
One of my favorite exfoliating masks recently is the BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Glycolic Renewal Facial which mixes chemical and physical exfoliants to leave your skin completely refreshed. Biossance describes it as as the perfect product to “exfoliate, reduce the look of fine lines, discoloration and enlarged pores.” With all of that packed into one little mask, how could I not want to add this mask into my regular arsenal! USE: apply a thin layer 💕 wait 3-10 minutes 💕 add water 💕 gently massage off. I started with three minutes, but typically use it for more like 5-7 now...I love masks that give you a time range that can be customized to your skin! This can be used up to twice a week (though I use it 1x at most since I have other exfoliants in my routine!) ❗️you MUST wear sunscreen if you’re using a strong exfoliant like this! STAR INGREDIENTS: 🎆 AHAS: the list of chemical exfoliants in this includes glycolic, lactic, malic, and tartaric acids that brighten skin and increase turnover 🎆 Mineral Spheres provide gentle physical exfoliation 🎆 Squalane is an amazing hydrating ingredient and is featured in all of Biossances products 🎆 Hyaluronic Acid is another of my favorite hydrators which pulls moisture in MY TAKE: 🌸 Smell - none 🌸 Texture - I was surprised by how creamy this mask is! It spreads on unbelievably well and comes with a little spatula 🌸 Sensation - this definitely tingles while the acids get to work on my face, but doesn’t burn at all and doesn’t leave me red 🌸 Results - My face is crazy soft after using this mask and it completely clears out my pores and leaves me glowing and brighter. I haven’t seen this yet, but with continued use, the glycolic facial is also intended to reduce fine lines and discoloration. This really is like a full-on at home facial! 🌸 Cost - $68 for 2oz which is very pricey. I got this mask in a Biossance mystery bag ($75 for 2 full size and 4 sample size products) which means I paid more like 30 for this mask. A little bit goes a long way with this mask so it will definitely last! On the whole, this is a beautiful mask that does wonders for my face with its double whammy of chemical and physical exfoliants mixed with my favorite hydrators. It’s worth the price for such a powerful mask, but I don’t think I would repurchase - mainly because I prefer the YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Yerba Mate Resurfacing Energy Facial (dreamy 2 minute enzymatic/physical exfoliant mask which I did a whole review on). If you prefer chemical to enzymatic exfoliation, i highly recommend this glycolic facial! What is your go-to mask lately?

Exfoliating with kombucha? How millennial.
Exfoliating with kombucha? How millennial.
As someone with oily & acne-prone skin, exfoliating is key for keeping my skin balanced and clear. Since my skin requires frequent exfoliation, I prefer a gentle exfoliating option that I can incorporate into my routine multiple times a week without damaging my moisture barrier. Enter, the Youth to the People Kombucha 11% AHA Power Toner. For being such a powerful exfoliant at 11% AHA (using lactic & glycolic acids), this toner is hydrating and smoothing enough that it doesn’t irritate my skin even when used 3X per week. I started this toner using it once per week, and slowly worked up my tolerance to 3X/week where I feel is my sweet spot for keeping my skin smooth and happy. I do find it can sting upon initial application if you have any blemishes or existing irritations on your face, but it goes away quite quickly. I apply this toner using my hands as to not waste any product using a cotton round. I also find that I don’t like to add exfoliating products to my face using a cotton pad, as I don’t want to rub it on and over-exfoliate/wipe it on too harshly. I do find that this product applies quite sticky, and takes a while to soak in, but once it does it works so well at sloughing away dead skin and reducing texture and pore size. I tend to follow this toner up with the YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask , and wake up with such even, glowy skin without fail! I would rate this product 4/5 stars, with one star missing for how sticky it gets upon application. The results, however, are 5/5 to me. At $50 CDN for 4 fluid ounces, it carries a hefty price tag. But I would still repurchase and recommend to my friends!

Korean Beaty Skincare | I Dew Care Disco Kitten
Korean Beaty Skincare | I Dew Care Disco Kitten
I Dew Care Disco Kitten Illuminating Diamond Peel-Off Mask! Oof... that was a mouthful! This is an awesome peel off mask. I use this when I feel that my face is really dirty and just looks shades darker. This helps to even out my skin tone. It contains several flower extracts that provide vitamin rich treatments that helps brighten, soften, and nourish the skin. Pearl and diamond extract work to help brighten and even out the skin tone as well. Due to how sensitive my skin is right now this was drying for me so I had to apply. Thick moisturize after. The peeling action also help remove the dead skin cells on the surface of my face. So happy I receive this product in one of my ipsy bag.

🌿LeeGeeHaam Grow Hyal B5 Tone
🌿LeeGeeHaam Grow Hyal B5 Toner This product was the strangest one for me because it smells to me like a nutmeg and cardamon and it does contain nutmeg and cardamom oils. The main ingredient here is Provitamin B5 (Panthenol) which is a good moisturizer and it's accompanied by Niacinamide (B5) and Centella Asiatica Extract. The whole formula is not bad, the toner is quite thick - like other Korean toners I've tried but also very moisturizing. This formula didn't make my acne worse or didn't make my skin sensitive, even better - my skin is calmed now. Only the scent is a bit annoying at first but it's easy to get used to especially when you can't smell the scent when the product is on your face. Is this a product worth a try? Yes, I like this toner because it'll stay with you for a good couple of months and a small amount of it is enough to cover the entire face. 🌿LeeGeeHaam Vita Propolis Ampoule I made a post about this ampoule before in an old design version and does anything has changed from that time? No, this is and I feel like it forever will be my favourite ampoule. Why? It makes my acne less irritating - I got less acne when I use it even during the period when I usually get lots of acne. It's a small ampoule but it's made in 50% out of propolis, the rest are ingredients that can help with acne like Witch Hazel Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract or Licorice. You can even find adenosine here. Is it worth a try? Totally, you just have to try it! I swear, it can change your life. 🌿LeeGeeHaam Grow Matcha Clay Mask This is the product I wanted to try the most because I like a good clay mask and I like matcha/green tea. This mask is pure perfection. Why? It's not a mask that makes your skin super dry, it cleans your skin well and removes all the sebum well, leaving your skin moist and happy. The scent is very delicate I almost can't feel it and the formula itself has matcha tea quite high on the ingredient list. It can be really helpful for acne prone skin and if you deal with pores just like me. Overall feelings: Is this trio worth a try? Totally! Not only with Oily or Combo skin but in general I think that LeeGeeHaam makes really good products which are worth a try and I'm sure I won't end up my skincare journey with this brand on this trio. I feel encouraged to try more products from this brand.
