Skin journey
I switched my cleanser because Cerave was not helping me with my oiliness around the t zone, dryness around my cheeks, bumps on my forehead. . I began to see more bumps on my forehead and it was becoming more visible. I tried to reach what can help to get rid of those bumps. Hyram suggested to use a gentle cleanser and something that deep cleans pores.
I have been using in my night time skin routine.
The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I slowly introduced so it would not react right away to my skin barrier because I have sensitive skin. I did have a little bit of purging from using the product for about 2 weeks. I would say it scared me at first but eventually my blemishes went away.
Now I use a cleanser in the morning that gently cleanse my face without over stripping my skin barrier.
L'ORÉAL - Revitalift Derm Intensives 3.5% Glycolic Acid Cleansing Gel it gives a tingling feel but doesn’t overly dry my skin so far. My skin feels fresh and clean. My skin is type is combination to sensitive.
I started to less exfoliate my skin and add more friendly use of serumsfor my face.
I do not add all of them together. I have my own routine for them. The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 ,The Ordinary - Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA ,The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% ,The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Squalane sometimes it feels on my face too oily. Lately I have allowed to dry on my skin. Skip putting on moisturizer because I realized it made my skin to oily if I did. I use a hydrating moisturizer. The Ordinary - ''Buffet'' this stuff makes the biggest difference when I apply it.(all from the ordinary brand) .
I let the serum absorb into my skin before I apply moisturizer.
@Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer keeps my skin dewy and hydrated.
For night time I use a gentle cleanser that’s nourishing for my skin. It gives me a clean face. earthtoskin - Super Greens Nourshing Face Cleanser perfect for my skin tone. No harsh ingredients. Very gentle and love the smell.
On a weekend I will use a gentle exfoliated to deep clean my pores, dirt, breakouts, hyperpigmentation and wrinkles . Not too long ago I added lactic acid to help me with my texture ,breakouts, hyperpigmentation and wrinkles under eyes and forehead. I only have been adding to my routine for night time since it is still very new to me. (only once a week)
If anyone knows how to get rid of white little bumps under my eyes and cheeks. Please comment? Thank you! 😊

Earth to Skin Super Greens Nourishing Cleanser
earthtoskin - Super Greens Nourshing Face Cleanser
I have a combination skin and this product is just AMAZINGGGGGG! It's mild, non-stripping you can feel your skin soft and supple after you wash it off. It's organic. The fact that it has broccoli-cucumber-kale complex just amazed me. It has a hint of that good veggie smell. This one could be a dupe to YTTP's Superfood Cleanser. The price point just blew my mind. I bought it for $6.96 + tax at Walmart.

Unpopular opinion...
This cleanser has been lauded by influencers everywhere and I see good reviews any time I look. With all this positive information I figured I had to give it a try. However I didn’t want to invest, as it is pricy, before I knew that it was going to work for me. After all for that price it would have to be the best cleanser I ever used, cleansers are usually the cheapest part of my routine. I really appreciate that youth to the people create travel size version of their products as it allowed me to try out this product, I love when companies do this. When I got my hands on this I was very excited until I tried it... first impression is I don’t like the smell which is very earthy medicinal, then I noticed that it really dried out my skin. All in all this cleanser really didn’t work for me. However it might work for people with oilier skin.
As I mentioned I really like that youth to the people offer travel size products to try out. I also like that their products are cruelty free, packaged in glass, which is easily recycled, and they use nature ingredients. Personally I am happy to use synthetic or natural ingredients as long as the companies align with my values but I always appreciate companies that are ingredient driven.
Packaging:
I love the glass packaging and the pump on the full size looks very convenient.
Texture:
The green gel is cute and it lathers very well.
Price:
This comes in 3 sizes. 2oz for $16 cad, 8oz for $47 cad and 16oz for $85 cad.
Effectiveness:
This cleanser definitely cleans the skin, however for me it was too stripping and left my skin uncomfortably dry.
YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser overall this is probably a cleanser that would be great for someone who doesn’t have dry skin. Between my stripped experience and the price I will not be re-buying.

My 2020 Top 5 💄🍒
PRODUCT : YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Cleanser Refill Youth To The People's Superfoods Cleanser was shockingly reviving, and not in any manner drying, as I'd foreseen because of a portion of the fixings.
What I delighted in about the item the most, both due to and notwithstanding of its value point, was its capacity to truly last. I found the jug endured me a while, and a limited quantity makes a significant decent frothy foam when applied to effectively clammy skin.
TREND : CeraVe - Mineral Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30 for Face with Zinc Oxide I’m loving this sunscreen with tinted texture 😍
MY BEST LOOK : i love natural look bc I don’t put makeup on everyday I love to be natural sunscreen on and moisturizer and that’s it . Im good to go . CeraVe - Mineral Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30 for Face with Zinc Oxide

My favorite cleanser. EVER.
Let’s talk about this amazing cleanser. I purchased it for the first time last year at tjmaxx for $3 and it was really an impulse buy (like all of my skincare buys let’s just be honest 🤦🏾♀️) so I didn’t get around to using it until like a month after I bought it and that’s when I fell utterly in love with it.
This was the first creamy cleanser I’d ever used and not only was it gentle but it was effective. At the time my skin wasn’t as bad as it was now. I wasn’t really into skincare but it really helped with my acne because my skin was too dry and sensitive at the time to use regular salicylic acid. After I finished my bottle it was hard for me to find a creamy cleanser that lives up to what it was until I finally found it months later again in Marshall’s.
The smell of this face wash is very spearmint and toothpaste like (which is something I like but not everyone can enjoy that) and it has a very smooth texture. I enjoy the cleanser most when I use it in the shower. I usually put some warm water all of my face and then rub it in for a minute and after this let it sit with the steam of the shower penetrating it for the rest of my shower. After I get out I wash it off at the sink and my skin always feels soft, clean and hydrated, never stripped and dry. A little also goes a long way ensuring the bottle lasts a long time.
This cleanser is an mvp for me all year round but ESPECIALLY in the winter when I sometimes suffer with dry patches ;-;
Even though my skin is acting crazy rn I use this as my gentle cleanser both day and night (despite me reading that I should be using a gel cleanser. Im hardheaded I know 🤦🏾♀️)
If you have dry skin or combination dry skin this may be a really good cleanser for you (because yk what I use may not work for you) but for $3 it’s worth a try.
🌿double cleansing 🌿
Have you ever woken up in the morning and still had makeup residue? I know I have! The worst part of finding this residue is the horror of realizing you’re not cleansing properly. Since your body does the majority of it’s healing at night we don’t want anything that could clog our pores or allow bacteria to flourish as we sleep. So let’s look at some of my favorite cleansers and what double cleansing can do for you!
🌿🌿🌿🌿
I’ve been double cleansing for about 8 years now and discovered it by trying K-Beauty 10 step skincare routines. While I can say I do not have a 10 step routine, double cleansing has become a huge game changer for me.
first cleanse is geared toward taking off the day, let’s be real pollution, sunscreen, dirt, oil, and makeup are going to be on your face at the end of the day. luckily there are a few options you can use to successfully remove these from your skin. Cleansing oil, balm, or micellar water are all great options for removing all the gunk off your beautiful face.
second cleanse (the actual cleanse) is geared toward cleaning the skin and pores, while offering some light treatment benefits if the cleanser has active ingredients.
what you’ll be left with after this process is clean skin and you can sleep peacefully knowing your expensive skincare isn’t sitting on top of oil, dirt, or makeup.
🌿🌿🌿🌿
My two favorite products as of late for my first cleanse are BIODERMA - Sébium H2O which is an incredible micellar water for those with oily skin and YADAH - Green Tea Pure Cleansing Balm 100ml which melts all your cares away with antioxidant rich green tea.
I use the micellar water every night without fail if I’m not wearing a lot of makeup and I use the cleansing balm for days when i really need that deep clean or if I’m wearing a lot of makeup. Both are incredible cleansers and give me the peace of mind that i’m actually taking off my makeup.
As for second cleanse my two favorites for the past few years are COSRX - Low PH Good Morning Gel Cleanser and SOME BY MI- AHA-BHA-PHA 30 day miracle acne clear foam.
The Cosrx is a super gentle cleanser that is PH balancing (your skin PH is around 5.5) and while it says good morning I tend to use it at night to prepare my skin for retinol or other chemical exfoliants. I will use the Some By Mi cleanser in the morning, while it could be drying for those with dehydrated skin, I find that it isn’t too harsh for me especially if I follow with a nice moisturizer and the Centella Asiatica does help calm my acne spots.

Do you double cleanse? If so what’s your favorite 1st and 2nd cleanse products?
YADAH-Green Tea Pure Cleansing Balm 100ml
One of my Favourite Cleansers!
A little while ago I got the Youth to the People Mini Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask in an Ipsy bag. In all honesty, I had a love-hate relationship with the mask, but ultimately loved it enough that it made me want to check out more about the brand and their products.
First and foremost, let me start out by saying that I love Youth to the People as a brand.
For those of you who aren't totally familiar with the brand, Youth to the People (in short) is a cruelty-free, 100% vegan brand. All of their products are biodegradable and sustainably packaged in glass bottles and jars, perfect for reuse.
After doing a little bit of my own research, I came across the Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser.
This cleanser leaves my skin feeling amazing!
My skin is on the oily side with mild redness and irritation and I can honestly say that this cleanser works magic on it. It features the superfood blend of kale, spinach and green tea; rich in vitamins C, E, K and B5. Spinach and green tea contain cooling and anti-inflammatory properties, perfect for combating any superficial redness and irritation.
This cleanser is gentle enough that my face doesn't feel stripped, dry and tight after using, but definetly still manages to feels very clean. It does an excellent job at dissolving any dirt, make-up and oil from the face and neck, but I do recommend removing any make-up with a balm (the Drunk Elephant Slaai Make-up Melting Butter Cleanser is my favourite) before hand.
I really love the fact that you don't need a crazy amount of this cleanser at all because a little bit really does the job. One pump from the standard size 8oz bottle manages to leave the skin looking and feeling clean, refreshed and vibrant; making it worth the purachse.
If you don't want to make the commitment right away, this cleanser is offered in a mini size (2oz/59ml) which retails for about $13.00, perfect for a trial run or even traveldown the road.
The standard size (8oz/237ml) retails for roughly around $50.00 and value size (16oz/437ml) for $85.00.

🌿Matcha + Hemp for Glowy Skin✨
I am a FIEND for matcha, a complete matcha fanatic. I consume it in any form I can get my hands on— matcha lattes, matcha cookies, matcha candy, I do have a bit of an obsession. I’m also a big fan of eating hemp for its superfood characteristics such as protein, amino acids, and fatty acids.
Eating these two ingredients never fails to make my body feel healthy and happy, so it’s no wonder that a CLEANSER featuring both has made my skin feel so wonderful. I’ve been obsessed with Krave Beauty and all of their products and this cleanser is one of my favorites from their entire line.
I have combination skin that can get sensitive in the summer so it’s always important that my cleansers are gentle but effective. This cleanser is exactly that. It leaves my skin feeling clean, soft, and hydrated from the matcha and hemp rather than stripped. The ingredients are non-irritating and give my skin a much-needed glow.
At this point I’m basically becoming a ball of matcha and hemp with how much of both I’m eating AND putting on my face now with this cleanser. It’s truly the best of both worlds. Definitely give this one a try if you haven’t already (and make yourself a yummy matcha latte while you’re at it too)!

my favorite gentle cleanser
FARMACY - Clean Bee Ultra Gentle Facial Cleanser is a cult favorite for a reason: this cleanser is so gentle and hydrating despite being a foaming cleanser, due to ingredients like honey and hyaluronic acid. It smells very faintly of honey and foams easily without leaving my skin feeling stripped. The pump packaging has always worked well for me, and of course the branding (like all of Farmacy’s products) is beautiful. I reach for this if my skin is very dry or sensitive from ingredients like acids and tretinoin.
I love this cleanser so much and I really want to try the new body wash, Bee Clean!
FARMACY-Clean Bee Ultra Gentle Facial Cleanser
I’m Obsessed!! 😱
Words cannot describe how much I love this product! *screams at the top of my lungs* lol 😅 This cleanser is one of the best products out there. Most cleansers tend to strip my skin, but this one is gentle, yet effective. It doesn’t leave behind any residue but somehow still leaves your skin feeling clean and nourished! You’d think it wouldn’t do much considering the type of product it is, but it can really get the job done. This worked well before I was on accutane and it works just as good now, 5 months in. I’ve put family and friends on this product and hopefully I can convert some of you too! CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin
