Sephora Samples Haul
Self professed Sephora addict here! I recently tried out some more small samples and thought I’d share my thoughts. THAYERS - Rose Petal Facial Tonerso when I saw a chance to try this one out, I figured I’d give this one a go. At first glance, seemed like a decent product. After several uses I noted a slight fragrance but nothing strong. It did sting my face some times and others not. It seemed to help my uneven skin tone but hard to say solely because of this product or because of my overall routine. So final conclusion of this sample: nice, simple, but not overly in love with this product either.

The Biggie Bum Bum Cream🐆💫
I was really excited to get my hands on one of these: Full disclosure, I don’t think this size is in stock at the moment, but Sol de Janeiro releases it as a limited edition product every so often. They do have the surfboard spatula available on their site though! A nice option for those trying to keep their jars more sanitary.🏄🏻♀️ SOL de Janeiro - Biggie Biggie Bum Bum Cream $76/16.9 oz It’s about $1 cheaper per ounce than the standard size, so the savings aren’t insane— it’s definitely more of a novelty or collectors piece. With over twice as much Bum Bum (pronounced boom boom btw 🤯 ) as the standard size, this should last me a while! It also comes with the silicone surfboard spatula. 🏄🏻♀️I find the spatula very easy to use & clean. While this is a great additional tool to have for the standard size creams, it’s forsure a necessity with the Biggie! ✨The special edition artwork is really fun & even more beautiful in person! You have to spin it around to see all the pretty ladies, so swipe through for all the angles! 🏖Not everyone loves this as much as I do to buy a giant vat of it-but it’s not become a new cult favorite since it landed at Sephora 5 years ago without reason. I was initially drawn to it back then for it’s caffeine content for preventing cellulite, the long lasting scent kept me coming back the most. For most days it’s an excellent body moisturizer, but there are definitely better creams for dry skin sufferers. The texture is dense with creamy emollients like Cupuaçu seed butter, Squalane & oils from Coconut, Açaí, Carrot seeds & Brazil nuts. It’s easy to use with my disability & leaves a healthy semi-sheen with very subtle micro shimmer, extremely wearable for all skin tones. Phthalate free fragrance ☕️Back to caffeine! There are mixed results for studies regarding caffeine & preventing or reducing cellulite. I’ve had a great experience using this cream pretty frequently for 5 years, I’m 33 & still have no cellulite, but this could be from so many other things or simply my genetics🧬 So maybe Bum Bum is just my butt’s lucky charm, but I’m glad I was willing to invest in my butt back then way before I did much else thoughtful for body care... Some experts have found that caffeine is able to facilitate the breakdown of fat by stimulating the enzymes which do just that. It’s been shown to temporarily constrict blood vessels, which decreases blood flow, reducing the appearance of inflammation. This can explain the temporary smoothing results some experience. The caffeine content in Guaraná is 2-5x the amount in coffee beans! Guaraná seeds were ancient medicine for the Guarani tribe & are still used today to produce energy drinks, supplements & Bum Bum! Other products mentioned: #Sol de Janeiro - Brazilian Bum Bum Surfboard Spatula[products]#[FiveStars] $8.50 each SOL de Janeiro - Brazilian Bum Bum Cream $45/8.1 oz OR $20/2.5 oz More in-depth review in a previous post.
Minis that I loved 💘
Happy Mini Monday 👌🏾 These are some products that I actually loved and bought bigger sizes of: SOL de Janeiro - Brazilian Bum Bum Cream . Smells heavenly and leaves my skin so soft. This is costly, but its so worth it. HERBIVORE - Blue Tansy Mask . I’ve never finished a mini so fast. My skin felt so soft and clear after every use. I used this the recommended every other day and now that I have my new one I can use it every week. Nature Lab. - Shine Clarifying Scalp Scrub Yes any texture can use a scalp scrub and I loved this one. I used it as a patch test on the middle (where my hair is most congested) and i can’t wait for my bigger size for my next wash day! @cosrx : snail mucinCOSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence . I still have the bigger size of this baby but Ulta sent me a sample size which I still love. NEOGENLAB - Real Rerment Micro Essence This baby one plenty of awards last year and I can see why. I actually use this one in the morning and the snail mucin essence at night. It’s way lighter and since I don’t use harsh ingredients I don’t need the buffer effect that I need at night. Have you tried any of these minis?

🦄🧼Unicorn CBD Whipped Body Polish is a FLOP!
While I’ve had some mixed experiences with Truly products, I absolutely fell in love the 🍭TRULY - Unicorn CBD Whipped Body Butter last year & I’ve repurchased it already. Not only is it a serious dry skin rescue cream, it smells like vanilla buttercream frosting in the best of ways. 🧁Sugar-y scented body care has been done so poorly in cheap products-I’m sure we’re all familiar with that nauseatingly sweet smell. The Unicorn CBD body butter is deliciously intoxicating & the scent & moisture really last! Though the effects from the CBD are minimal, it’s a thoroughly amazing body rescue cream that I’ve fully cemented in my post-shower body care rotation... So I was immediately sooo disappointed that the TRULY - Unicorn CBD Whipped Body Polish did not smell like their body butter of the same name AT ALL! It smells instead like bubblegum & slightly minty perhaps? Hard to put my finger on it. It’s a very overwhelming sweet smell that I don’t care for at all. 🧼The scent doesn’t stay on your skin, but leaves it smelling a pretty standard soap smell. Ok but here’s where I’m confused... I’ll admit I didn’t really check out the ingredients because I loved the body butter so much, & have been really into body scrubs lately, I just added it to my cart on Ulta. THIS IS NOT AN EXFOLIANT?! I’m really not sure why this is marketed as a “body polish” when it’s really just a body wash. I included the ingredients in the slides... 🥭it’s got some good hydrating/moisturizing ingredients very high on the list like glycerin, organic Shea butter, Mango seed butter & Vitamin E, but it left my skin feeling that tight stripping squeaky clean type way. So, literally not a body scrub or body polish at all, no physical or chemical exfoliants to speak of, just lots of botanical & fruit extracts that give us these rainbow colors naturally. 🍭The texture is really fluffy & creamy, so it doesn’t travel super well as you can tell from my photos, so while it wants to be very cute, it kinda arrives messy. I hate to be so harsh with my rating, but when I’m really trying to think of some saving qualities, I can’t. ➖I hate the smell, & feel kinda misled regarding what the scent would be, due to their body butter of the same name. ➖It’s certainly not a body polish & isn’t even a good body wash. ➖Really dried my skin out. ➖CBD pain relief effects are nonexistent, I knew it wouldn’t be anything special considering it’s a wash off treatment, but it’s worth mentioning, because they have CBD free versions as well. ➖ummm kinda pricey for a product this bad... $35/6 oz So a total flop for me. Oh well. Check out my review on the Unicorn CBD body butter, I highly recommend it!🦄🍭🧁💕 If you’re looking for an ACTUAL body scrub lol, my current favorites are HERBIVORE - Amethyst Body Scrub With Epsom Salt & SOL de Janeiro - Bum Bum Body Scrub
🔮🏖🫐Body Scrub Battle 🥊
🕳I just emptied all the body scrubs I tried this year. I totally fell in love with body scrubs again during quarantine. I used to invest a lot in my face, but kinda neglect treating my body & hair the same way. I was suffering from so many ingrown hairs on my legs this year, I decided to start exfoliating more. It used to be more of a treat every once in a while, but I do a “soft exfoliation body-mask” more often now. This is a method I’m sure I did not come up with lol, but it’s where I use a body scrub more for the effects from the rich oils by letting the formula sit on my skin for a while (I physically exfoliate a bit while applying) before rinsing off. I leave a shower with such moisturized skin! I wrote full reviews of each product in previous posts, but I’ll run a little comparison here... 👑my reigning favorite: 🔮HERBIVORE - Amethyst Body Scrub With Epsom Salt $44/6.4 oz This one is definitely pricey & I go through it fast, but adore it so! The formula feels like fluffy sugar, but is somehow sooo moisturizing! I indulge in my “body-mask” method with this one & my skin is so hydrated & moisturized afterward I don’t even feel the need for lotion, it’s like I’ve already applied a dry oil deep into my skin! The scent is also amazing & so intoxicating! It’s a deep & complex Arabian Jasmine fragrance that comes from the real source! The physical exfoliation ingredients are hydrating Sugar, soothing Epsom salt & sort of more symbolic crushed Amethyst crystal. The most gentle exfoliation out of the 3, & also the most moisturizing. not far behind in royal ranking is: 🏖SOL de Janeiro - Bum Bum Body Scrub $42/7.8 oz Full review in my last post. I only knocked off a ⭐️ because it can be very hard to use if your shower area or bathroom stays cold lol. The formula smells like their signature Bum Bum Cream, I absolutely love the scent experience in my shower! Once I figured out how to best use this product I really fell in love! (jar may need to warm up first) It’s very moisturizing, has great oils, rivaling the hydration/moisture levels of the Amethyst scrub... but the exfoliants are the most abrasive of the 3. Not saying that in a bad way, but some may not be into it. Swipe through to see ingredients of everything & which exfoliants they utilize. Unfortunately this wasn’t my blueberry jam: 🫐TRULY - Blueberry Kush CBD Body Scrub $33/6 oz +300mg CBD I think it’s hard to harness all the medicinal properties of CBD in a wash-off treatment & since the formula contains CBD isolate & not hemp oil or anything (often used as a moisturizer), I’m assuming they hope to offer pain-relief effects, but they’re not really there- even with my body-mask method. This formula is more oily than the others. My issues were mainly with the smell & a blue-yellow residue it left behind. There are 1,000 blueberries in each jar, the blueberry oil gives it the color/scent. But kinda smelled bad on skin.

updated post for Olehenriksen toner 💙
Olehenriksen toner This toner from Olehenriksen has many benefits when it comes to this toner. When using Olehenriksen toner it's prefer using at night because the formula cause the skin to be vulnerable and very sensitive to sunlight and causing higher risk skin damage. The benefits of using include are dark spots, fine lines, wrinkles, even skin tone and texture. The ingredients contain lemon, sugarcane, licorice root, chamomile and sandalwood extract. For me when using this toner you get delicious sent of lemony citrus aroma when applying. To apply to my skin I use a cotton pad to evenly apply to my skin, then after I had a little bit of a tingling sensation but over time it went away. Every time I use this toner at night my skin has a very supple texture and glow. Overall I'm happy using this toner would recommend anyone to try and as someone as my self who suffer from dry skin. OLE HENRIKSEN - Glow2OH Dark Spot Toner don't forget to like and follow for more 😘😘😘 you can also follow my Instagram page at @sweet_citrustea
What do you say about this?
OLE HENRIKSEN - Glow2OH Dark Spot Toner I just want to say I like it although I can only use a couple times a week. But I see the brightening right away . I have to admit it’s too strong for my skin...I love the smell and it’s hydrating too. Thoughts?

Rose Toner: worth the hype? 🥀
When people talk about drugstore beauty, Thayers is often one of the first products mentioned. They have a line of alcohol free witch hazel based products like face mists and toners. Thayers is sold at stores like Whole Foods and Target. The most famous of these is the THAYERS - Rose Petal Facial Toner So...is it worth the hype? What’s in it? 🌹Aloe 🌹Rose water 🌹Witch Hazel Cost: $11 for 12oz What’s it do? Thayers touts this product as a gentle one that will cleanse, tone, moisturize, and balance pH. So...why all the hype? - Thayers toner has minimal ingredients and those ingredients are processed as minimally as possible. It’s clean and straightforward - The witch hazel is alcohol free and is not distilled. I find this to be much less astringent than the giant bottle of witch hazel I used as a tween and re-found in my childhood bathroom over the holidays -Very affordable My take on Thayers Toner: This toner does not cause any irritation for me It is gently hydrating and I enjoy the subtle rose scent I like using this right after cleansing so that my more occlusive products can lock it in I put some of the product in an old face mist bottle and it is great for a refreshing mid-day pick me up Other than gentle hydration, I didn’t notice a huge difference when using this product so I won’t be repurchasing (especially since I’m trying to cut back on my routine!) If you are looking for a basic, affordable, hydrating toner I highly recommend giving this a try!!
Skincare products that RUINED my skin...part 1!
Here are 10 products that I used to use and what I think of them. Check out other post showing my BEFORE & AFTER photos! 📸 These are the products/ routine that I showed my dermatologist, but there are more products that I used along with these! Stay tuned for my NEW routine! 1️⃣Mario Badescu Rose Facial Spray with aloe, herbs and rosewater. $7 for 4 oz ⭐️⭐️Review: Overall this product did not improve my overall skin. The ingredients are very cheap and are basically water and fragrance. 2️⃣ PractivMD deep cleansing face wash. $30 for 6 oz ⭐️⭐️Review: This face wash was super annoying with the tiny blue balls that they put in the scrub. This scrub stripped my skin of moisture, and I also used it too many times a day. 3️⃣Shea moisture Bamboo Charcoal Hydrating Gelee Moisturizer. $11 for 2 oz ⭐️⭐️⭐️Review: This moisturizer was a bouncy Jelly texture that was fun to put on my face. There was some good ingredients in the product. 4️⃣Thayer’s Witch Hazel Rose scented Toner. $11 for 12 oz ⭐️⭐️Review: Basically a waist of money, when you can find better ingredients than Witch Hazel. 5️⃣Sheer Cover Nourishing Moisturizer spf 15. $15 for 2 oz ⭐️⭐️⭐️Review: This product was super lightweight and had no white cast. The sun protection is too little though (spf 15). 6️⃣Clean & Clear Dual Action Moisturizer with Salicylic Acid step 3. $6.39 for 4 oz ⭐️Review: This product would burn. Not sting, but burn, for a long time and be painful. 7️⃣Olay Clearly Clean Acne Treatment Scrub with essence of citrus-mint. *discontinued ⭐️Review: This product broke me out once I used it. Also very stripping and rough to my face. 8️⃣Basis Cleaner Clean Face Wash. $6 for 6 oz ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Review: This was the best cleanser that I had back then. Gentle but has fragrance. 9️⃣Differn Acne treatment gel. $16 for 0.5 oz ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Review: This product worked well, but also dried my face out. Make sure to buy a thicker cream for face and do research before buying. 🔟Pop Vibrating Face Scrubber mini. $25 from Tjmax ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Review: Gave my face a nice gentle exfoliation and helped deeper clean my face with the vibrations. ingredient spotlight: glycolic acid
Today I’m going to be comparing three exfoliating products, the YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Kombucha + 11% AHA Exfoliation Power Toner , SATURDAY SKIN - Pore Clarifying Toner , and the skinfix - Resurface+ Glycolic Renewing Scrub ! I tried a mini of the YTTP and bought a full size before i was even out of the mini, and the Saturday Skin was gifted to me by the brand. I’ve used them about the same amount of times so far. Skinfix gifted me the scrub as well, and I use it twice a week on my body before I shower. Glycolic Acid is the smallest AHA (alpha hydroxy acid) that can act as a water-binding agent & when properly formulated, can be a great exfoliant. That’s why you can sometimes see glycolic acid in moisturizers (low on the list of course), but it’s not actually exfoliating your skin in that formula. It’s a great exfoliant as well, which is how I’m going to be using it in these products! Glycolic acid reacts with the upper layer of the skin, weakening the binding properties of the lipids that hold the dead skin cells together! I enjoy using this to exfoliate 1-2x a week at most, as it makes my skin so soft and healthy. I’m really happy to say that I can see this ingredient working well in every product I am reviewing in this post! Function - yttp: exfoliating toner - skinfix: body peel and polish - satskin: exfoliating toner Claims - yttp: smooths and minimizes look of pores, firms skin - skinfix: reduce look of crepey skin; smoothies and softens skin - satskin: smooth and refines skin appearance Price - yttp: $38 - skinfix: $30 - satskin: $30 Texture - yttp: thicker than water but not like a serum - skinfix: soft, gentle scrub that has chemical and physical exfoliants; non irritating and good for my sensitive skin. - satskin: very watery-like serum Overall - yttp: makes my skin very soft and smooth upon application; overnight takes my skin from dull to glowing and isn’t irritating at all. Smells kind of funky but I don’t mind it so much anymore. I really like this and would definitely repurchase it when I’m done! - skinfix: I love using this. It’s not very abrasive but gently buffs away skin without irritating it. Makes my skin so so soft, although not for very long. I would probably not repurchase this, mainly because I want to try out some other products that are similar, but I would totally recommend this. - satskin: my least favorite of these three, but I still like it. It makes my skin pretty dry and doesn’t help add any moisture or retain it at all, which I feel like the YTTP does. It’s not irritating and I would repurchase it, as long as I follow up with a normal moisturizer.

❣️𝐅𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐊𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐬 𝐏𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐬 / 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐧 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐧. ❣️ ~ 𝐄𝐱𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐥𝐨𝐭𝐡 | $4.99/ 8pcs ~ 𝐄𝐮𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐇𝐀 𝐋𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 | $8.97/500ml | enriched with 𝐔𝐫𝐞𝐚 and 𝐋𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐀𝐜𝐢𝐝 for powerful exfoliation and protects skin barrier with 𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐬 and 𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐚 𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫. I’ve learned there’s only two things you really need to tackle KP: 𝐞𝐱𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐨𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐫. Both these products deliver results and won’t break the bank. So far, what have worked best for me and what I would love to recommend 👆🏻 I’ve also tried: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐎𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐆𝐥𝐲𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐀𝐜𝐢𝐝 𝐓𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐫 - in a liquid consistency so still has to be sealed in with an occlusive. slow to deliver results. | $𝟖.𝟕𝟎 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐀𝐢𝐝 𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐲 𝐊𝐏 𝐁𝐮𝐦𝐩 𝐄𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐫 - really didn’t do much than a regular washcloth. it’s a wash-off product so it doesn’t work as good as an AHA in a lotion/cream form. | $𝟐𝟖/ 𝟖𝐨𝐳 𝐄𝐃𝐈𝐓: ~ although these products help with rough skin, they 𝐦𝐚𝐲 𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐚𝐲 𝐧𝐨𝐭 completely get rid of the red marks left behind, depending on the severity. The red marks are more difficult to get rid of. Consistency is the key. KP is a lifelong condition. There’s no cure for it - but home remedies can help minimize symptoms. It should improve with age for most people.
Eucerin- Intensive Repair Lotion, Fragrance Free
did we just become besties?? 👯 fresh rose toner
everyone loves this fresh - Rose Deep Hydration Toner , and for good reason! when i decided to do away with witch hazel as a toner, i wanted to find something gentle and hydrating. this toner has been just that. i really like the rose scent, but if you have sensitivities, you should probably swatch test or forgo this product. the toner does exactly what it says that it will - increase skin hydration and minimize pores while not stripping the skin. i purchased the smaller size for $25 at sephora, and i will definitely purchase the standard size ($45) when i empty this.

🍉Glow recipe PHA + BHA Toner 🍉
possible new fav!! i’ve decided to switch up routine and drop my active serum for an active toner! the first plus is the beautiful glass bottle. yay no plastic waste!! I’ve only used this twice, the last two nights, but so far i am almost really loving it! i say almost because i’m not a huuuge fan of the not quite a liquid but not quite a serum texture of this, but i don’t hate it. the way it feels on the skin is nice enough for me to over look this. once i pat it onto my skin it feels ✨amazing! you get a whiff of the fresh watermelon juice, and minimal fragrance, which i love. the PHA & BHA mix is exactly what i’m looking for and immediately after using it my skin looks smooth and feels soft. I can be semi sensitive to actives and have some really dry spots but there was no discomfort or irritation. once it dries down it’s not sticky at all unlike other active toners i’ve tried, YTTP im talking about you. will update this post, if i can not sure if that’s a feature on this app, after i’ve used it longer to give a more in-depth review of effects. minus star right now for not knowing how it’s gonna work in the term and for having added fragrance. even though it’s the last ingredient it’s just not needed! what are your guys thoughts on this product? how has it helped your skin?GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow PHA+BHA Pore-Tight Toner

congested pores from face masks?😷
Since quarantine started, I’ve noticed more whiteheads along my lips, chin, cheeks, and nose. HOLY MOLY! It’s been an adventure finding what works for me. I’ve been alternating between these two products and they’ve been working wonders!👏 The Farmacy Deep Sweep toner has changed my life! I’ve been using it morning/night for the past week and I’ve already noticed a significant different. It’s a more watery compared to the GM Nicinamide toner and has a very light, but refreshing, scent to it. In the beginning, I felt a slight tingle but overtime it’s gone away. This toner stays true with its claims and deep cleans your pores thoroughly. I will definitely be repurchasing ✨ FARMACY - Deep Sweep In addition to the Farmacy Deep Sweep toner, I’ve been alternating with the Good Molecules Niacinamide Brightening toner. This product is a wonderful bang for your buck at only $14!🙌 Seriously, what a steal. By wearing a mask all day, it does a wonderful job at reducing overall skin tone/redness and helps control enlarged pores. It is a little bit tacky and has no fragrance. GOOD MOLECULES - Niacinamide Brightening Toner
A toner perfect for Sensitive Skin!
Glow Recipe’s PHA + BHA Poretight Toner has been in my routine for the past couple of months and I can already tell I won’t be able to live without it. Here’s why: my skin tends to get sensitized every once in a while, yet I love to permanently have some gentle exfoliation going on! PHA’s are the biggest in molecular size, therefore they don’t penetrate as much into the skin as an AHA would! (Personally, AHA’s are way too harsh for my skin!) Other than delivering gentle exfoliation, this toner delivers loads of hydration cause it’s packed with some great humectants. My skin feels supple & hydrated after applying this and just how I want to feel forever!
