Apple cider vinegar: 2 week check-in

I started my mornings with a cup of warm water, a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar, and a splash of lemon juice. Jennifer Aniston says that this is the secret to aging gracefully and maintaining a healthy metabolism. ACV is also noted to help with bacterial and fungal acne, as well as brighten complexion. There are so many documented properties of the ACV cleanse (some researched and some a matter of opinion.) But here are the changes I saw:
less puffiness
improved skin brightness
better skin texture
more energy
my gut felt healthier
*I did not see as much change in my acne as I’d hoped, but I was also on my period the past week, and consumed a more sugary diet :( I really want to continue this process to see what the longer term benefits provide for me and my body. Also it was so refreshing to replace my cup of morning coffee for a cup of ACV. I felt refreshed and healthy.. and the ACV didn’t hit my gut as hard as my acidic morning coffee usually does. If you plan on doing this yourself, I recommend keeping the ACV to water ratio low, and not consuming more than 2 tablespoons of ACV, as the acidity could burn your oesophagus. ACV has acetic acid, which neutralizes the PH of your gut. But you definitely want to water that stuff down. (Also it’s super gross straight up, so why torture yourself?) All in all, I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for a homeopathic method of improving your overall skin health. Let me know if you end up trying this, and how it works for you!

skincarelover001I used to use diluted acv too and I suggest you stop because on the long term it can cause damage and irritation, especially if it’s not even diluted at all!

Should I change my routine?
Should I change my routine?
I have combo and acne prone skin. I used to use Himalaya skin products, until i switched to western skincare. I now use a camomile makeup remover from The Body Shop, Aloe foaming cleanser from The Body Shop, Tea tree oil also from The Body Shop, Niacinamide from The Ordinary & hyaluronic acid from The Ordinary & SPF moisturiser from CeraVe. Ive seen improvement in my skin with major pimples being diminished pretty quickly but I still have bumps & pimples all over my face, blackheads on my nose & little bumps on my eyelids. I struggle with dull skin & my skin texture generally changes during seasons.

👩🏻‍⚕️ J-Beauty: Medical Anti-Acne Mist 👩🏻‍⚕️
👩🏻‍⚕️ J-Beauty: Medical Anti-Acne Mist 👩🏻‍⚕️
Mentholatum - ACNE 25 Medical Mist About me 😊and the product 👩🏻‍⚕️Skin type I have combination skin. In my face, my t-zone is slightly greasy while my cheeks are and part of my nose bridge are dry. My cheek and forehead are a bit acne prone but just like 1 when I’m stressed. I’m not too lucky on my back though. I have don’t have and oily back but I do have backne ☹️ 👩🏻‍⚕️Product function The product claims to reduce and prevent acne by using ingredients such as salicylic acid, sage extract and rosemary extract. 👩🏻‍⚕️Texture/consistency The texture and consistency of the product is like water. It dries fairly quickly after application but does have a slight medical smell so I hold my breath when I spray the product! 👩🏻‍⚕️Packaging The packaging is a standard plastic spray not tile with a cap to cover the nozzle. The product is dispersed in a fine mist and is used best when inverted since it is for the ease of use for backne. Beauty story📖 👩🏻‍⚕️Overall experience I have been suffering with back acne and always tried to apply acne medication to my back which was useless due to how hard it is to accomplish. I couldn’t see my back when apply the medications or my neck or arm would cramp up from trying to get to my back. As I was shopping in a Japanese cosmetic store, I found this product!! It’s especially for backne and claimed that it is easy to use since you just have to spray it. So I immediately grabbed it!! I started using this product right after I showered 🚿 and I only had to use it for around 2 weeks and I saw results!!! 😍 👩🏻‍⚕️Verdict❤️ I really like this product (besides the smell) since it showed results so quickly. I noticed that my backne decreased by a lot and was less severe. Even my sister noticed it too and I was so happy 😭. After around a month my backne was almost all gone and all that left was the acne scars that were from acne ages ago. Since then I’ve been going on and off with this product. Only using it when necessary. 👩🏻‍⚕️Recommend?✅✅ I would absolutely recommend this product to fellow backne sufferers!! It actually works and didn’t cause any sensitivity problems in my sensitive skin. I didn’t see and side effects at all either so I would highly recommend!’ 👩🏻‍⚕️Worth it?💰 This product is 100% worth it. It’s around $15-20 depending on where you buy it so it is slightly expensive for the the amount you’re getting but if you think about it. All acne medication is pretty expensive 💰 and not all of them work. So this one is definitely worth the time and money!

It never occurred to me to use Calamine Lotion for acne until I saw the Mario Badescu drying lotion. It was pink which was a dead give away to me what it was. I looked it up and sure enough its calamine and salicylic acid. I hate salicylic acid, and literally had some calamine in the cupboard so figured I'd give it a go. For my sensitive skin this is pretty much perfect. I put a thick layer on my zits at night and even a thin layer on some of my oily problem areas. Similar to a clay mask you will see it dry up the oils and start to crack. But, it always remains super soothing. Usually after having some on for a couple hours I will see a decrease in redness. I will even put concealer over the dry patches for keeping my zits dry throughout the day. 100% would recommend for acne and especially cystic acne and oily problem areas.

Red inflamed acne spots
I was doing so good with my skincare journey , i always seem to breakout before my cycle. I also tend to over analyze my skin causing me to do toooo much and end up with worse case of acne flare up. I broke out on my forehead and got frustrated since my skin was doing so well from a previous longgg acne breakout for months. I had seem to have clear skin. I used salucidic acid treatment on my acne this time and at first i liked that it seemed to dry my acne spot but now they are so red and blistered. ✨Any tips to recover from this ???? 😖 Recommendations & tips that will soothe my skin and help me with my breakout & irritated skin Currently using : -kose oil cleanse - simple moisturizing face wash -Cerave face lotion for normal to dry skin -Niacinaminide cos de baha -Vitamin c naturium -missha sun milk sunscreen What i used that worsened my case :( also my skin is very sensitive just a disclaimer: -Aztec clay -salycidic acid cos de baha (this is were it especially went all wrong) :|||

Acne cream
Acne cream
Hey 👋🏽 guys so I just wanted to know if you have any other recommendations for an acne cream because as you can see I wasn’t really a fan of this one. Here are some reasons why : I’m really not a fan of the texture. It’s really hard to spread onto the face and it dries instantly. (I know that people like me who have combination skin more to the oilier side should like this but nah 😂) When I first tried it my skin went crazy dry ! My skin had never peeled like that before and let’s just say it was kind of scary 😅. And sometimes I felt like it irritated my skin. Every time I applied it to my face the cream peeled so it was very annoying to use. Even though I didn’t put anything before it. So you have to quickly but carefully apply it to your face. (Most of the times I just patted in.) So yeah basically not a fan. If you have anything to recommend please let me know and you can also check out my other post which is kind of related to this. Benzagel - Acne Gel 5% Thank you so much ❤️

OFRA Drying Lotion
OFRA Drying Lotion
OFRA - Drying Lotion - Almond This is meant to diminish the appearance of blemishes and reduce redness/size. I’ve used it a handful of times and have not seen a dramatice difference but the pimples don’t grow like they do sometimes and eventually diminish over time. The consistency is like liquid and dries really fast. You have to shake it up before use and rub quickly if you don‘t want it to show so I use it before bed. I like it but would not recommend it until I’ve used more of it and am sure of it’s potential. The price is also $22 so it’s a bit much for me.
