My Winter 2021 Skincare Routine
Hey guys, I’m going to be reviewing my 2021 winter skincare routine!
PURITO - Comfy Water Sun Block
This sunscreen is my go to. It’s so light and amazing, and really does the job. Keeping those UV rays without even being able to tell I have a sunscreen on. This sunscreen leaves no white cast either. Amazing! Mineral sunscreens are very sustainable as well.
CeraVe - Renewing SA Cleanser For Normal Skin
I’ve been using this Salicylic Acid based cleanser for a couple months now, and can for sure tell the difference of the texture of my skin, and my pores. I’ll be also posting a full review of this product as well. No fragrance, and gets all the dirt and excess makeup off my skin. Amazing and no bad reactions!
The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5
I’ve already reviewed this serum, so you can scroll down my account to see my opinion, but it is amazing. Super hydrating, light, a little tacky feel at first (takes a second to absorb into my skin) but afterwards I have a plump and hydrated feeling throughout my skin!
The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
I started using this serum late July 2020. So far, no bad thoughts about it. This serum is super light, and really makes a difference. I’ll also be posting a full review on this product. A big difference in my pores since before I started using it. Less clogged pores, and a much smoother texture skin in problematic areas.
CeraVe - CeraVe Moisturising Cream
This is my favorite winter moisturizer. It’s super thick, and absorbs well into my skin. It leaves me skin with a nice and soft feel to it. Using this moisturizer during the winter is amazing because it leaves my skin very hydrated throughout the whole day without any dry patches!
CeraVe - Eye Repair Cream
I’ve been using this since the summer of 2020, and I haven’t noticed much of a difference. You could probably just use your moisturizer as an eye cream, because I can’t tell a difference in my skin. I’m not going to waste it though and I’ll finish it off. Otherwise just use moisturizer as an eye cream.
Aquaphor - Healing Ointment Skin Protectant
Lastly, my favorite lip balm. The best way to keep your lips moisturized all year long is to use this product. I haven’t had any cracked lips or lip problems in years since I started using this product. Amazing and will never stop using Aquaphor!
sabisprinkles
It’s fine but... not for me 🤷♀️
Cerave is one of the largest and most popular brands in the world. It has simply blown up this year with everyone from magazine editors to influencers to dermatologists talking about it.
It is a drug store brand that focuses on healing ceramides in their products and thus with my dry skin I figured I would try it out. As my eye area is really dry (cracks and flakes) I figured it would be the ideal area to try a cream.
Price:
This eye cream is very popular as it is very affordable in the USA, however in Canada is is much more expensive. It is not outrageous but at $25 cad I can find eye creams that I enjoy and work better for me.
Packaging:
I know packaging isn’t the be all end all but I must admit if it doesn’t look cute on the vanity it has to be amazing for me to buy it... and with cerave as a whole I really hate their packaging. It looks to me like old school medicine packages which takes out the joy from doing my routine 😢.
Effectiveness:
I have dry and acne prone skin with an extremely dry under eye area, so dry they sometimes crack and bleed. Therefore I thought this would be amazing with the ceramides. I do like the soft cream texture and the area never got horribly dry but I never felt it nourished enough. Also I did not notice any reduction in wrinkles or brightness (it has niacinimide), which was disappointing. And the worst thing is that it caused milia which I have never got before even when I used Vaseline nightly for years 😭.
Pros 👍:
It’s accessible as it sold in most drug stores

it feels nice going on
it has a good list of ingendients. Ceramides and niacinimide
Cons👎

it’s pricy if you don’t live in the states

the packaging is ugly

the cruelty status is in question 🐰
I didn’t notice any results after 9 months
it gave me milia!!
CeraVe - Eye Repair Cream all in all I think this cream might work for some but it really didn’t work for me.

25 day difference for my dark circles 😱😱
I’ve never been an eye cream gal. Even tho I’ve always had dark circles, it seemed like eye cream was just another step that didn’t do much. Then there was GEORGETTE KLINGER - Sea Extracts Eye Cream
My under eyes are bit deep set (a little deeper than my cheek bones which casts a shadow), so there’s only so much a cream will do for me, which is also why I didn’t really get into eye creams. They’ve always been meh. Happy to have found a good one!!! According to the site this eye cream...
Replenishes and renews skin for younger healthier tone and texture
Defends and repairs skin and combats daily stress and damage
Promotes cell turnover and skin renewal to diminish fine lines and wrinkles for visibly younger contours
The main ingredients that do this are red marine algae, wheat gluten, and plankton extract.
I was gifted this and thought nothing of it, but after a month of steady use (at least 1x a day) I’m happy to see my dark circles taking a back seat. This eye cream is very unassuming at first application—goes on like any other eye cream. But the proof (at least for me) is in the pudding.
Note: Now I know the lighting in both photos are also a bit different BUT I really do have brighter under eyes IRL !!
What is your holy grail eye cream?
GEORGETTE KLINGER-Sea Extracts Eye Cream
Eye 👁 Creams [dark circles and fine lines]
👁Eye background: I have genetic dark circles, and a newborn son so between the dark circles and lines from lack of sleep my eyes were 😱.

👁BURT’S BEES - Renewal Firming Eye Cream this is a retinol alternative based eye cream. The alternative ingredient is called Bakuchiol, and it’s very helpful helpful to my sensitive under eyes. It’s also 99% natural, no: parabens, protalatum, or SLS. The only reason I have this eye cream 4/5 ⭐️ is because it’s $19.99 for a 0.5 OZ. It lasted me about 3 months though but still
👁DUFT & DOFT - Salmon Vgene Hydro Active Eye Cream I got this in one of my IPSY bags and honestly I really like it. Only downside is it does have salmon egg extract (for my vegan people). Other than that it’s packed with niacinamde, hyaluronic acid, and adenosine (anti-wrinkle). I wouldn’t probably buy this again, but I must admit I used it for two weeks straight during the day and I actually saw some difference . $16 for 0.9 OZ.
fARSÁLI - Haldi Eyes this eye cream is amazing. It has turmeric & caffeine (& daisy extract for brightening the eye). It’s clean, vegan, & cruelty free. I usually use this under my makeup because it’s so hydrating or when I need a super pick me up. Why ? Because it’s $40 (I know) BUT you get 15ML (.5 FL OZ) in a jar not a pump so you control how much you use. I’m definitely buying this again 😭
TULA SKINCARE - Cooling & Brightening Eye Balm I got this in my GLAMBAG and I’m happy because I most likely won’t purchase this again. So since I have sensitive under eyes the “cooling” effect bothers the freak out of my eyes! It’s like putting mint under there. The second reason is being a WOC the white cast it leaves on my eyes is hard to get off/blend. It’s like a glue stick you just rub under eyes which I don’t prefer anyways because applying products to your skin compromises the product. It does have probiotics, caffeine, clean & cruelty free. It’s just not for me. It’s $28 for .35
CeraVe - Eye Repair Cream I used this during the day for ONE WEEK & saw the best results out of any eye cream honestly. It has niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, ceramides (lipid that protects the skin from irritants & locks moisture in) & it’s non-comedogenic (won’t clog pores), hypo-allergenic & fragrance free (if that kinda thing bothers you). It’s $10.77 for 0.5oz and I will always have this product in my skincare bag.
Overall all I say I would need is the CERAVE & FARSALI
Let me know what you use !? 👇🏽

💥Products for Dark Circles💥
🔥THE PRODUCT🔥
The #OLEHENRIKSEN - Banana Bright Eye Crème[products]#[ThreeStars] is marketed as a vitamin c-rich eye cream and it is targeted to 1) reduce the appearence of dark circles and 2) improve the wearability of under-eye concealer!
Aside from pale yellow pigments to target the look of dark circles, it also has collagen to target fine lines/wrinkles, and shea butter and jojoba seed oil to help with dryness! As you can see, it has a rich and creamy texture, but it glides onto the skin easily.
✨MY HONEST OPINION✨
I first got this eye cream in a set from Ole Henriksen, so I tried it out because I had it and I love vitamin c rich products😂! I’ve had it for about a year and have used it on and off. I like this product, as the slight tint helps to conceal my dark circles, but because my dark circles are genetic, it wasn’t very effective for me. It is very hydrating and enjoyable to use though!
I’ve gone through a smaller jar, and this isn’t even a full-size! The full size of this product retails for $38 which I think is amazing for 15 mL of eye cream, because a little goes such a long way. I definitely think this is worth the price, and it’s worth the effort because it’s SO easy to just dab a little bit on.
If your dark circles are from fatigue, this will be great for you, but if you’re on the genetic dark circles struggle train, then this will only help conceal them. So I would definitely recommend this to others trying to combat dark circles from lack of sleep!
So overall, 3/5 ⭐️ rating! It’s worth the price and is a great product, I just don’t happen to love eye creams too much!
Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado
🌸 A moisturizing eye treatment
🌸 Great for all skin types
🌸 Key ingredients are Shea Butter, Beta-Carotene & Avocado Oil
〰️
I really like the rich texture of this eye cream than my first one which is Benton Fermentation Eye Cream.. I find that the Benton was harder to apply for some reason. Is it just me? Idk maybe. Anyway, it’s super moisturizing and I really feel and see the difference. If you’re looking for a product that targets dark circles and puffiness well this isn’t your friend… Haha! Also, it’s pretty expensive for a 0.5oz tub… 😔 It’s around Php 1,725 when I bought it. 〰️
I still have some fine lines under my eyes but they look more hydrated and plump than before. ✨ I also look younger (I think HAHA) even though my sleep pattern is still fookt up.... 🙃
Would I purchase again? Hmm I don’t know.. It's a bit too expensive for a little tub. 💔 I might buy the Innisfree orchid eye cream next! What about you guys? What's your favorite eye cream!
Kiehl's-Creamy Eye Treatment With Avocado
Affordable and works?
THE inkey LIST - Caffeine Eye Cream
Not a bad eye cream! It has slightly done something for my dark circles in the past three weeks but hasn’t assisted in the eye wrinkles. That’s the main reason why I bought it so my makeup will stop settling in the lines, but it’s nowhere near empty so I’m still giving it a fair shot. It has no scent(a plus), it’s very light and actually moisturizes around my eye. I’ve had these wrinkles for at least 7-8 years so I’m gonna give it some more months of use
THE inkey LIST-Caffeine Eye Cream
The Olehenriksen Banana Bright Eye Creme 🍌
This eye creme claims to brightens, instantly targets fine lines & wrinkles, reduce the look of dark circles. The product target concerns like fine lines & wrinkles, dark circles, & wrinkles. I decided to use this eye creme because I’ve heard good things about this, so I decided to get it. I have been using this eye creme for a while now & I love it. It hydrates my under eyes & it covers my dark circles after not getting enough sleep. I saw results instantly when I first put it on & I was hooked after that. I absolutely love using this in the morning because it makes me look awake & it’s super hydrating. I would recommend this product to others, especially for people who have dark circles. This product retails for $38 & there is a lot of product, so it is worth it! A little comes a long way with this product.
