Reviewing My Followers Skincare Routines pt. 4
Hey ya’ll! In part 4 of Reviewing My Followers Skincare Routines we’re reviewing @Raks and @juliachristine’s skincare routines.
Starting with @Rakswho reached out to me via Cherie message because she started skincare about a year ago because of her upcoming wedding.
She starts by cleansing with theThursday Plantation - Tea Tree Face Wash Foam which costs $8.99 for 5.1 fl oz. This cleanser is very basic. It has tea tree oil, and eucalyptus oil. My issue is with the eucalyptus oil, which is a very irritating essential oil right up there with lemon oil and peppermint oil. If this doesn’t irritate your skin then it’s a great cleanser, but I can’t recommend it to those with sensitive skin.
Then she goes in with 4 serums. First is thepura d'or - 20% Vitamin C Serum which costs $14.99 for 4 fl oz. This is a really good serum. It has aloe vera juice, glycerin, jojoba oil, and argan oil which are hydrating ingredients, and then it has hylaronic acid, retinol, and Vitamin C. I love it!
Then she uses#The Ordinary - Nicinamide Serum[products]#[FiveStars] which costs $5.90 for 1 fl oz. We’ve talked a lot about this serum, it’s very good. Next is the#Tree Of Life - Hylaronic acid serum[products]#[TwoStars] which costs $10.95 for 1 fl oz. I don’t like this serum. It started off good with hylaronic acid, aloe vera juice, Vitamin E, and Vitamin C, but it contains way too many Essential oils and irritating extracts.
And her final serum is theSkinMedica - LYTERA 2.0 Pigment Correcting Serum which costs $130.90 for 2 fl oz, which is very expensive. This is not worth the price. It has nicinamide and glycerin, and then some not very researched acids. I don’t recommend continuing use of this serum.
Then to moisturize she goes in with theOLAY - Regenerist Regenerating Day Cream which costs $29.99 for 1.7 fl oz. I don’t like this moisturizer. Let’s start with some positives. It has nicinamide, glycerin, and Vitamin B3. Now it has a lot of bad ingredients also. It has Sodium Laureth Sulfate, which is a harsh cleansing agent, as well as fragrance being the 6th ingredient.
The she uses a Neutrogena sunscreen, and occasionally usesThe Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution which costs $7.20 for 1 fl oz. This is a great exfoliant.
I think @Raks is using too many serums. I would stick to only the Pura D’or and The Ordinary serum, and ditch the other two. Keep the cleanser, and maybe try a different moisturizer.
You asked for mineral sunscreen reccomendations for dark skin tones that don’t have a white cast, so I got you girl! I have light skin, but I did some research and I’d recommend the#First Aid Beauty - Weightless Mineral SPF 30[products]#[FiveStars] which costs $34 for 1.5 fl oz, and the #Biossance - Squalane Zinc Sheer SPF 30[products]#[FiveStars] which costs $30 for 1.7 fl oz. Both of these have minimal white cast, and Skincare by Hyram recommends them.
Next is @juliachristine’s night routine. She starts off by cleansing with the #Vanicream - Unscented Gentle Cleanser[products]#[ThreeStars] witch costs $8.99 for 8 fl oz. This a nice basic cleanser with glycerin.
Next she uses the#OBAGI - Tretinoin 0.025% Cream[products]#[TwoStars] which costs $84 for .7 fl oz. This cream has tretinoin which is a Vitamin A derivative which can treat acne, as well as retinol which also Vitamin A. I don’t think it’s worth the price, but it’s okay.
Next she uses the #The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10%[products]#[FourStars] which costs $7.99 for 1 fl oz. Along with azelaic acid, it has dimethicone which is a great moisturizer for dry skin.
Next she uses theCeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin which costs $17.99 for 15 fl oz. Y’all know I love this product!
Finally she finishes off with theVERSED - ZERO-G Smoothing Eye Cream witch costs $17.99 for .5 fl oz. Eye cream is definitely not necessary but this one is great! It has glycerin, algae extract, and olive oil which are hydrating, along with shea butter and a blend of peptides which can help firm the skin and increase collagen production which can help reduce fine lines around the eyes.
Overall @juliachristine your routine looks great! That’s it for this post please cheer for this post if you liked it, comment your opinions on these products, and follow me for similar content. Upcoming posts include a 1 month Curology review and unnecessary skincare steps you don’t need.

CeraVe Facial Mosituriser: Sunscreen and Lotion!
Hey Beauty’s 🙋🏽♀️
I started using CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin four weeks ago. I needed a new day cream as I had completed a 3 month trial using Auquest 5 Second Wrinkle Cream. I posted my results in January so if you want to know more check out my previous post. ☺️
CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin was highly recommended here so, Cherie 🍒 made me buy it! Although it’s for normal to dry skin, it also works well for people with skin conditions, like psoriasis. I suffer from psoriasis. 🙃 I have combination skin which is more on the oily side but I really wanted to give CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin a try as it’s recommended by dermatologists.
CeraVe was developed by dermatologists and uses a patented formulation to protect the skin barrier. The Company call the formulation, Multivesicular Emulsion Technology. It’s ensures CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin will be time released throughout the day for complete hydration. It also uses three different ceramides which help retain water 💧 and strengthen and repair the skin barrier.
My thoughts 💭
🧚♀️ It’s fragrance free, no parabens and non-comedogenic (doesn’t clog pores), ✅ which is great since I have larger than average pores 🙃
🧚♀️ CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin has an SPF 15 with broad spectrum protection and can be classed as a secondary sunscreen in Australia. An SPF15 can block 93.3% of UVR compared to SPF30 which blocks 97%. So technically I feel I could use it as my sunscreen but, because I’m 45, I like to apply an SPF30. ☺️
🧚♀️ It has a nice lightweight texture and easily absorbs into your skin. I didn’t purge when I added it to my day routine! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
🧚♀️ My skin loves this cream, it feels smoother and softer and it keeps my skin hydrated 💦 all day.
🧚♀️ It retails for $22 in Australia 🇦🇺 I love the price point!
Although I’ve only been using it for a month, I’m giving CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin 4 stars!!!! It’s ticked a lot of boxes for me but as it’s only my initial review I didn’t want to give it too much Kudos. I’m loving it and feel a little sad as I have a new GLOW RECIPE - Banana Soufflé Moisture Creamthat I’d like to trial after the CeraVe. But, I don’t really want to swap it out. 😂😂😂 I guess that’s the Dilemma of being a Creator. I don’t always keep using what’s working because I like to review new products. 🙃
Let me know if you tried the CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin and if it worked for you. I’d love to hear from you.
Have a wonderful day!
Jade ☺️

Banana Soufflé
GLOW RECIPE - Banana Soufflé Moisture Cream
This is one of my favorite moisturizers! It has great ingredients but is simple enough for everyday use without irritation. It gives the skin a healthy glow and smells amazing.
Things I love about it:
🍌 hydrating and lightweight
🍌 gives a nice glowing look
🍌 key ingredients: banana, magnesium, and centella asiatica
🍌 very calming and soothing
🍌 good for all skin types and does not cause breakouts
🍌 natural fragrance from banana
I highly recommend this moisturizer. The only con is that it can sometimes be a little tacky depending on other steps in your routine, but that quickly goes away.
I have already finished this container (pictured) and have another mini one that I use now.
Also the GLOW RECIPE - Banana Crewneck is super comfy and such a cute shade of yellow! If you get a chance to get one you should. Glow Recipe recently re-released it on their website after it being gone for a while. I recommend getting the size you normally get for sweatshirts. It does run a little large, but mostly in the length of the sweatshirt. But because of that it’s great with a pair of leggings!
If you have tried this moisturizer or have any product recommendations please let me know in the comments!

It helps to remove dry flakes, oil and detoxifying. Your skin look be so smooth and refreshed. This scrub isn't drying after using. This is perfect if you have acne. My 12yo using this on acne spots and it has helped with cleaning and removing dead skin from the area. After using this, my skincare goes on smoothly and my makeup looks flawless. Update
Post acne scarring🥴
Ultimately, “less is more” is why my skin isn’t breaking out daily. No more painful, cystic acne.
I got my skin adjusted to the bare minimum.👍🏼
I slowly introduce new products.
No acids (Salicylic, Lactic, etc…), no exfoliating, no topicals.
This stage of my skin journey is to allow my skin to heal & do what it’s supposed to do without disrupting the healing process. I still provide my skin with the necessary ingredients needed to assist with barrier repair & a healthy biome.
Ceramides, Probiotics, Hyaluronic Acid, Colloidal Oatmeal, Niacinamide, Green Tea.
* If anybody could recommend any more barrier repair products &/or ingredients i’m all 👂🏼

Jet lag mask for the jetless ✈️
I got this full sized product from my favorite subscription beauty box, Boxycharm. From first impressions, the packaging is absolutely elegant! I felt so fancy😂 I use this in the morning as part of my wake up routine, and I absolutely love it! It goes on smoothly, and it gives the skin a slight tingling sensation, which I love. It’s great for dry skin, and leaves my face looking refreshed and awake- ready to tackle mommin’ my 4 wild sons. It’s a pretty pricey product, so I’m conserving, but I will definitely repurchaseSUMMER FRIDAYS - Jet Lag Mask

How many masks are too many...?
I used to love masking! I’d do at least 1 to 2 a week. Now I’ve gotten lazy and just don’t do them and I have so many I need to start using before they expire!
For me, I feel having an exfoliating mask and a hydrating mask is all you need. Unless your using the product consistently you’re not going to see changes. Masks are great for plumping up the skin, adding hydration and even a soft glow. But of all the masks I’ve used I’ve never found long term effects from them (except exfoliating).
One way I like to use them is right before a big night (or day) out. To give my skin that added boost. Some that are great for doing so are:
FARMACY - Honey Potion Renewing Antioxidant Hydration Mask
GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon + AHA Glow Sleeping Mask (use as a 10 min mask)
SUMMER FRIDAYS - Jet Lag Mask
FIRST AID BEAUTY - Hello FAB Ginger & Turmeric Vitamin C Jelly Mask
And many others that help brighten and hydrate!
I will also not go without my exfoliating masks which I do once a week. Some faves are:
PAULA'S CHOICE - 25% AHA + 2% BHA Exfoliant Peel
YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Yerba Mate Resurfacing Energy Facial
The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution
HERBIVORE - Prism 20% AHA + 5% BHA Exfoliating Glow Facial
And a few others I have that I liked to use;
BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Tea Tree Detox Mask
ELEMIS - Superfood Vital Veggie Mask
bliss - Mighty Marshmallow Mask
Unfortunately as I said, I just don’t mask as often as I used to. And I feel it isn’t necessary. If you like to then I suggest you get yourself an exfoliating and moisturizing/hydrating mask and you should be good to go.
Treatments are where you want to really zone in and specialize your finances for.
Is it Friday yet? Ugh! I’ve been down all week with a neck I cannot turn - ouchie! And a migraine on top of that! I’m ready to knock my dogs out cause they are wanting out every half hour (it’s nice here ⛅️)
Much ❤️ my skinnies 🍒

SUMMER FRIDAYS - R + R Mask
Christieblogs
The only SF product that hasn’t worked for me
Summer Fridays - R+R mask 🥀
I’ll be honest, this mask didn’t really work out for me. I love the idea of it but it felt too oily for my skin. It does gently buff skin for a brighter, more radiant look but I always find myself having to get rid of the excess oil because there’s just too much to be absorbed. The oils are wonderful for the skin - argan, safflower, sesame, avocado and grape seed - it’s just the ratio of oil to exfoliating rose powder it a little too much. I’ve opted to try to use this on my body so as not to waste it!
I did pick this up last winter when it was 50% off. Even at that price, I’m not sure I would purchase it again, even as a body exfoliator. HOWEVER, I absolutely love Overtime, Jetlag, and the lip butter balm and would highly recommend those over R+R if you had to choose.

The perfect anti-aging duo
VIVIER - Retinol 1% Night Complex
Derived from vitamin A that increases the rate of skin cell turnover, forming young cells, decreasing superficial dark spots, increases the amount of fibroblasts and produces more collagen and supporting proteins, making the skin look firmer.
The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
It has anti-aging effects, reduces pigmentation, helps fight acne, reduces facial redness and hydrates.
It is well known that retinol causes irritation when you start using it, there are studies that suggest that if you use niacinamide before starting to use retinol you could avoid the chances of irritation since it increases the skin tolerance to this ingredient.
This combination is also amazing for its anti-aging effects, niacinamide improves the effects of retinol by improving fine lines, wrinkles, pigmentation and skin texture.
Apply niacinamide first if it comes in form of a serum or last if it comes in form of a cream.
I highly recommend this combination for people who are going to start a retinol regimen and for those who already use this ingredient to enhance its anti-aging effects.

Do’s and don’ts: large pores
Skin type: combination.
Skin concerns: large pores.
The pores correspond to the opening of the hair follicles on the surface of the skin. The hair follicle resembles a canal, which contains facial hair and is connected to the sebaceous glands (sebum producers).
It is common to see large pores on acne and/or oily skin. Pore size is closely related to genetic 🧬, hormonal, and environmental factors.
Over the years, the pores increase in diameter due to the loss of firmness of the skin.
The products that I have used to improve the appearance of the pores are retinol (at night) and vitamin C (in the morning and at night after retinol) I also try to exfoliate my skin 1-2 times a week and use masks that help clean the pores or hydrate the skin once a week, in addition to using sunscreen (I apply it every 4 hours).
Do’s:
👍🏻 Wash your face twice a day with water and soap 🧼 (depending on your skin type).
👍🏻 Exfoliate and use astringent masks 1-2 times a week.
👍🏻 Creams with vitamin A derivatives (retinoids) decrease sebum production, accelerate cell turnover and tighten the skin.
👍🏻 Use “non-comedogenic” products 🧴.
👍🏻 Vitamin C 🍊aids collagen and elastin production and brightens the appearance of skin.
Don’ts:
👎🏻 Washing your face too often causes you to produce more oil, enlarged pores and more breakouts may appear.
👎🏻 Don’t expose yourself much to the sun ☀️, sun damage makes your pores appear larger and contributes to the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
👎🏻 Air pollution and smoke 🚬 accelerate the aging process of the skin 👵🏻.
👎🏻 Exfoliating more than you should weekly can lead to increased sebum production and make your pores appear larger.

Skin concern: hyperpigmentation
Skin concern: dark spot (hyperpigmentation)
Skin type: combination
7 years ago I met a dermatologist at an event and when he saw me he said "you have a dark spot on your face" I told him that it was not possible and he replied "can I show you?" He take photos with a dermatological camera, the truth at that time is that I didn’t see the dark spots that he said I had, even seeing the photos from the camera I didn’t see where he said I had them.
He told me "use this SkinTx kit" SkinTx - Starter system program 3 (hyperpigmentation) I started using it a month before I got married and it was the worst decision of my life! It caused me cystic acne, I ended up marrying with a pimple on my chin 😑😭. I stopped using the treatment and forgot about the dark spot.
Years passed... and that hyperpigmentation that he told me I had, right where he pointed me, was visible. One day I saw myself in the mirror and I saw it! 😱 I was in shock, so I immediately spoke to him and asked for an appointment.
My treatment from the beginning consisted of VIVIER - Retinol 1% Night Complex and VIVIER - Serum 10 and obviously sunscreen. At first I was peeling, experience minimal skin redness and irritation, after a few weeks those discomforts passed and I began to notice improvements in the quality of the skin, decreased the appearance of pores and fine lines. Month after month I went back to the dermatologist and did a new scan with the camera and we saw how the dark spot was disappearing. After 10 months of treatment the dark spot was gone! He decided to change my treatment since my skin already tolerated that percentage of retinol and I changed it to ZO SKIN HEALTH - Retinol Skin Brightener .5% , honestly it was not the best decision since I got cystic acne again. So we decided to go back to the previous retinol.
To date it is the treatment that I continue to use, it no longer irritates me or makes me peel off, and I think it is the reason that my skin remains healthy and with few signs of aging.
In the morning I use vitamin C and sunscreen and at night I applied vitamin C first and then retinol.
Retinol is a cosmetic treatment derived from vitamin A. It has been used topically to help decrease the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, smooth texture, and decrease hyperpigmentation. It is generally well tolerated.
Vitamin C is one of the best anti-aging treatments (helps with fine lines, wrinkles, uneven skin texture and tone), protects against sun damage and its safe to use in conjunction with retinol.

My skincare awards: toners
🥇GEORGETTE KLINGER - Vitamin C Toner
$26
This is the toner that I've been using lately, I love the results of Georgette Klinger's Vitamin C line. I had a chance to try it thanks Georgette Klinger and Cherie.
Leaves skin fresh and clean, helps diminish dark spots, calms redness, purifies pores and brightens dull skin tone. Its main ingredients: kakadu plum, aloe, withc hazel, watercress and elderflower. It is a lightweight liquid that absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave sticky.
It definitely decreased the redness on my skin and has helped decrease dark spots.
🥈 PEACH & LILY - The Good Acids Pore Toner
It is a gentle formula even with sensitive skin. Contains AHAs, salicylic acid, cape lilac, eggplant, turmeric extracts, aloe and allantoin. I had the opportunity to try it thanks to a BoxyCharm box.
I have used it a few times but I liked it, it doesn’t cause irritation and absorbs quickly, its texture is liquid and it has no odor. It is ideal for oily and combination skin.
It is definitely a gentle exfoliating toner that doesn’t cause irritation, making it ideal for even the most sensitive skin.
❌ YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Kombucha + 11% AHA Exfoliation Power Toner
$38
Long ago I did a review of this toner, I had used it for two weeks and my first impression was that it didn’t absorb well, since it leaves sticky feeling. In fact they mention it on their website, but for me that feeling is unbearable.
I found it as a new product at Sephora and bought it to try it out as I had a good experience with the cleanser.
I still have the same opinion of that time, the truth is that I wouldn’t buy it again.
Its main ingredients: kombucha black tea fermented, tree bark ferment, ginger, lactic acid, glycolic acid, citrus bioflavonoids and lemons water extract. Its texture is liquid, they say "liquid, lightweight", it has no added fragrance. Every time I use it, it causes a little irritation that goes away the next morning, but I think the Peach & Lily is gentler than this toner. It is used 3-5 times a week, at night.
I definitely prefer the first two options as they don't irritate me. But I think it depends on your skin type, since many people do very well with YTTP toner.

Vitamin C: the ultimate glow inducing ingredient
Vitamin C is one of my favorite powerhouse ingredients! This amazing antioxidant is just great to brighten, correct hyperpigmentation and get an even skin tone! 🍊
I personally am a big fan, and love to use vitamin C to get bright, luminous skin. It’s been so useful to me lately as I’ve been feeling stressed and picking at my skin and it’s so so good to correct darks spots and post-acne marks.
These vitamin C products from Georgette Klinger (gifted) we’re just the perfect fit for me! The GEORGETTE KLINGER - Vitamin C Complex is a lovely serum formulated with Kakadu plum and hyaluronic acid (another ingredient I just love) to promote the absorption of vitamin C.
It’s important to know the correct order to apply a vitamin C serum and it should always be after toner but before moisturizer, following the thinnest to thickets rule and you should always, always apply SPF after! Unless you’re applying it at night, in which case you’re good without SPF 😜
I first learned about vitamin C from my husband, and the statues my own research, it’s been one of my tried and true ingredients for years!

Battle of the enzyme scrubs!
We know physical exfoliants aren’t the best thing for your skin. But, some days you just want a little more scrub. I get some funky flakey areas on my face and once in awhile I like a scrub. Rather than using something with large exfoliants in it, I have been choosing enzyme scrubs.
These scrubs use mostly fruit acids to gently get rid of dead skin, but they also contain physical scrubbers as well!
The 2 that I’m comparing today are the Wishful
HUDA BEAUTY - Yo Glow Facial Enzyme Scrub ($39USD for 100ml at Sephora - Wishful is part of Huda Beauty) and
Sun + Moon Sunny Daze Gel Enzyme Scrub ($18.99USD for 151ml at Ulta)
Price - Obviously, the Sun + Moon is a better overall value. You get more product for less money.
Scent - the both smell like a pina colada due to the pineapple and papaya extracts - yet both contain added fragrance.
Ingredients - the ingredient list for the Wishful scrub is much longer as it contains waaaay more natural ingredients, extracts, and oils. The Sun + Moon contains walnut shell as its exfoliant and the Wishful has a much more gentle cellulose as its physical exfoliant.
Results - both give a good scrub. If you are acne prone or have sensitive skin, the Sun + Moon scrub might remind your skin too much of good old apricot scrub and be irritating as it has larger bits of walnut.
Texture - the 2nd pic here shows the texture of both. The Sun + Moon is a cool gel with bits of walnut. It feels like someone mixed aloe gel and apricot scrub. It’s a little odd. The Wishful scrub feels like baking soda toothpaste. That’s the only way I can describe it.
Overall - I think overall I would purchase the Wishful scrub. It’s just a more natural, more gentle product. It leaves my skin nice and shiny and smooth and my pores look smaller/cleaner when I use it. My skin never gets red or irritated from it. When I use it I massage it on and leave it for a minute before washing off. If you have drier skin you will need to moisturize afterward.
Do you ever use an enzyme scrub?

My updated skincare routine! 🧖🏻♀️🕊
FEBRUARY 2021
Here’s my updated skincare routine; good for both daytime and nighttime!
Left photo - Back in november 2020
Right photo - Taken today February 15th 2021
The products I use : (in order)
I make sure my hands have been washed - beforehand! (no pun intended 🥰)
1) Exfoliate (1-2x a week)
HUDA BEAUTY - Yo Glow Facial Enzyme Scrub
2) Cleanser (daily; day and night)
Benzagel - Acne Wash
My doctor recommended it to me to wash away any blackheads, pimples, acne, etc...
3) Serum (day and night)
#HUDA BEAUTY - Thirst Trap Juice Serum[products]#[FiveStars]
4) Oil (day and night)
HUDA BEAUTY - Get Even Rose Face Oil Tip : To prevent fine lines and “wrinkles”, I began incorporating a lymphatic massage every morning to help with circulation and my facial features! I followed the instructions of Huda’s instagram (@hudabeauty or @wishfulskin) which I highly recommend to try if you’d like to help with the overall look of your skin! 💆🏻♀️💗
5) Moisturizer
HUDA BEAUTY - Honey Balm Jelly Moisturizer
6) Sunscreen (daytime only!)
LA ROCHE-POSAY - Anthelios XL Lotion SPF 60
7) Eyebrows (daytime only!)
MORPHE - The James Charles Palette in the shade “benny” with one of Jeffree Star’s brushes (a collaboration with Morphe!) 👏🏻💕
7.1) Eyebrows (daytime only - if I have time too!)
#Just For Men - Mustache & Beard : M-55 - Real Black/ Ultra Noir[products]#[FiveStars]
Like indicated up here, before applying James’s products, in the shade "benny", I sometimes will give myself an eyebrow tinting treatment (if that’s how you call it 🥲) and it makes a BIG difference - especially for someone like whose eyebrow hairs are so damn pale... 🥺✨
Anywhooooo - 🌹☺️🌹
That’s all for now, let me know what you think I could improve and what I could do to help with - ☺️👏🏻💗
Take care ✨

5 Do’s and 2 Don’t’s to treat your hyperpigmenta
We all have gone through dark spots I’m sure, whether it’s from an old acne spot, a sun spot or a scar. It’s disheartening when we want that beautiful even looking skin and then there are these dots of red or brown in the way. I have significant acne scarring and hella dry skin from years of cystic acne and destroying my skin.... so I’m going to give you my best tips!
Do: Vitamin C! It’s a powerhouse antioxidant ingredient that fights free radical damage that can make these spots appear or even worsen them. It’s proven to lighten up and even skin tone for that beautiful bright glow! I love the Tatcha Violet C mask for weekly use as it somehow just brightens the skin quite instantly! TATCHA - Violet-C Radiance Mask
Do: chemical exfoliation. This is your AHA products to dissolve the glue that is holding the dead and damaged skin to the surface. It helps get rid of them so healthier cells can find their way to the surface and shine! Honeymoon Glow from Farmacy is a fan favourite. Take it easy tho, a couple times a week is fine. FARMACY - Honeymoon Glow Serum Or you can do the ordinary peel once a week! The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution
Do: Niacinamide. This is another superstar ingredient that will brighten up the skin and help those spots look lighter. It’s also good for oil control so that acne doesn’t pop up and cause more spots! The new cream from Caudalie is beautiful and will moisturizer at the same time! CAUDALIE - Vinoperfect Brightening Moisturizer with Niacinamide
Do: Hydrate!! When treating skin concerns it can be easy to just dry the skin out and attack it with treatments. We forget how delicate our skin is. SO HYDRATE AND MOISTURIZE MORNING AND NIGHT!! Your skin will always look more healthy this way.
Do: SPF! If you ain’t protecting the skin from damage, all the effort in your skincare is pointless. Protect from the sun who will cause those spots to get worse and even create them. Protect your precious newly exfoliated and brightened skin so it stays healthy. I don’t care the excuses. EVERYDAY! The new one from First Aid Beauty is lightweight, non greasy, gives a slight glow with its tint and works well under makeup FIRST AID BEAUTY - Weightless Liquid Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30
Don’t: Over do it. Please keep the chemical exfoliation to once a week for a strong treatment or 3-4x a week for a more regular treatment. Overdoing it will literally make your skin 10x worse and more damaged, red and sore.
Don’t: FORGET THE SPF. But also, please keep suntanning or tanning beds and such to a minimum. This will not clear your skin. It’s not worth it if you want clear skin.
Bonus: Do not, please, do not pick at your face!! It’s satisfying to pop pimples or scratch a scab, but the scar lasts too long for it to be worth it.
The Ordinary-AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution
My Skincare Routine
I’ll go into detail about each one in separate posts, but this is everything I use as a collective. The only thing that isn’t pictured are my cleansers, I use Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser for the days I exfoliating or need something more gentle. I love how light the scent is, and how easy it is on my skin, but if you need something more acne fighting, I would suggest something stronger since this product is all about cleaning. I’m still learning what type of cleanser is for what type of skin, but it’s a gel consistency and has a nice smooth and thick texture, so I believe it’d be great for oily/combo skin types.
I also use a turmeric brightening cleanser but can’t remember the name and I’m away from home. 😊

Skincare Review
drunk elephant A-Passioni Retinol Cream: i would use this as a spot treatment, about every other day. Its my first time using retinol and it is a high concentration 1% which is why i decided to start of slowly. I’ve been using it for 3mo now and i’ve seen a difference. New pimple/redness would be gone overnight, and my hyperpigmentation has faded over time. It does take commitment when using this product. You won’t see results overnight. It is pricey, so if you have the money, i would recommend this product.
drunk elephant T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night serum: i use this twice a week. I apply it on dry skin, as recommended. It does tingle but subsides after a few minutes. Overnight, i feel that my face is smooth like a baby’s butt. I was really surprised on how well this works. It has AHA/BHA mostly AHA which works on the skins surface and helps unglue the dead skin cells so you can expose the new layer of skin. You do need to follow with a sunscreen the morning after. All drunk elephant are pricey, but would recommend 100%
Farmacy Green Clean cleansing balm: first time using a cleansing balm and works so much better at removing my waterproof mascara. A little goes a long way depending on how much makeup you wear. I dont use much, but i do use sunscreen everyday (i try my best) and double cleansing is a must!
Laneige Cream Skin Toner & Moisturizer: i use this every morning, after washing my face with water only. I dont usually wash my face in the morning unless i workout or feel the need to. This product works as a two in one: toner & moisturizer. I do have combo/oily skin, and some may say its too greasy for oil skin, but at night i use harsh ingredients and i like to use this to restore my skin barrier and moisturize my skin as my night time routine can be drying.

What happened after 10 days of a vitamin C line
Over the past 10 days I have been trying out Georgette Klinger’s Vitamin C line! For a bit of background, I have acne prone skin and some hyperpigmentation from previous pimples. I went into this hoping to see improvements.
To get the negatives out of the way first, I really dislike that these products have fragrance. All 4 products in this line have fragrance listed as the last ingredient. I would prefer products with active ingredients such as vitamin C to have no fragrance at all as to reduce any chance of irritation. The Vitamin C complex in particular was irritating to my skin so I omitted it from my routine early in the 10 days.
My favorite from his line is the Vitamin C mask. I’m a big fan of masks and wash off treatments. I also love thta this is a bentonite clay based mask because those tend to work well with my oily skin. I will definitely continue to use this mask and don’t mind the fragrance in this formula because it is a wash off.
As for the toner and cleanser, I didn’t see much positive or negative effects on my skin. They were okay and got the job done but I’m not sure if they’re something I want to include in my everyday routine.
At the end of this challenge I can definitely see an improvement in the brightness of my skin. I will say however that my skin took a while to recover from any irritation it faced and I’m not sure if including an active ingredient in every step of your routine is necessarily more effective.

Products for pores!
🐰My skin type/concerns- I have very dry skin in the winter and a normal skin type during the summer! Occasionally I will get bad acne throughout the year, I also have bad redness and hyperpigmentation, and pores!
🐰this review is for products I have tried to minimize my pores!
✅worked
❌didn’t work
🐭Product list:
✅Belif Aqua bomb moisturizer- I discovered this moisturizer about 8 months ago and fell in love! I love using this moisturizer morning and night, it is amazing at minimizing the look of my pores! I see a huge difference from before and after I use this! It’s amazing ingredients is everything that helps with my pores!
✅drunk elephant t.l.c serum- I discovered this serum from a friend recommending this to me after trying it and telling me how much it helped minimize her pores! I have been using this for about 6 months! I always use this at night because I know when I wake up my pores look super reduced and my skin is very soothed for when I start the day! I always use this right before applying eye cream and moisturizer! This serum is very lightweight and gives me the perfect hydration my skin needs, and is amazing with minimizing my pores overnight!
✅Glow recipes watermelon sleeping mask- I saw this all over social media when it came out, and when I saw some reviews for it I knew it would be perfect for my skin and I immediately bought it! I have been using this for about 6 months! I also only use this at night and whenever I use it before bed I see the biggest difference in my pores when I wake up! I use this right after I cleanse my face! The very thick consistency of this is super helpful before going to bed because I know I will wake up with super moisturized skin!
❌tatcha water cream- I found this moisturizer from a family member recommending it to me, and saying how much it helped with her pores! I saw the pricy price tag but I still went for it! I used it for a couple months of the summer, and it was perfect for my summer skin type! But when winter came around this was not giving my skin the hydration it needs, and I learned this is more for oily type skin! This didn’t change the look of my pores at all, I saw no difference when I used this at night and when I would wake up nothing changed! I used this as one of the last products in my routine!GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon + AHA Glow Sleeping Mask TATCHA - The Water Cream DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Discovering Essences
Essences aren’t new in the skincare world, but it wasn’t until recently more brands added them to their repertoire. An essence is a concentrated formula that targets wrinkles, fine lines, and dull skin. Most essences contain an active ingredient that promotes cell turnover. Eventually, the daily use of essences in your routine will lead to smoother and brighter skin. However, don’t be fooled by the promises that essences are somehow anti-aging powerhouses. I think of them as your skin’s multivitamin.
Who Should Use this Essence
Here’s the good thing about this product, because it’s almost entirely snail mucin filtrate, everyone should use it. But, you know I don’t believe in that “best for all skin types” stuff brands like to promote. To me, this product is a classic staple on everyone’s skincare routine, but those who need it have:
Sensitive skin
Dry skin
Acne-prone skin
Why? Because snail mucin can help reduce redness, nourishes at a cellular level, and provides a glow that will help fade out acne scars. But, most importantly, the combination of naturally-found hyaluronic and glycolic acid make it a must-have if you have sensitive or dry skin.
How to Use this Essence
It’s relatively simple to use an essence. After you’re done with the toner, use one or two pumps of product, it spreads easily. Apply all over your face and neck. Start from the center and work your way our with pulling motions, almost like a massage. Wait for it to dry before you move to the next step.
