My skincare routine for glowing skin ✨

Skin type: combinations, acne-prone. Skin concern: dull skin. Following a beauty routine has its benefits, keeping the skin clean and hydrated makes the skin always look healthy. To minimize the appearance of pores, prevent wrinkles and decrease fine lines I use VIVIER - Retinol 1% Night Complex
its main ingredients are 1% pure retinol, vitamin C, vitamin E and shea butter. It’s well known that retinol promotes cell renewal and increases collagen production, making the skin appear firmer and healthier. To keep dark spots out, I use VIVIER - Serum 10
, it contains 100% pure L-ascorbic acid, one of the best formulations on the market due to its stability. Helps reduce signs of environmental damage (fine lines, wrinkles, uneven skin texture and tone). It’s an excellent ingredient to add to your beauty routine. I try to exfoliate my face 1-2 times a week with ACURE - Brightening Facial Scrub
its main ingredients are sea kelp and french green clay, after using it my my face feels clean and fresh OR HUDA BEAUTY - Yo Glow Facial Enzyme Scrub
a gentle exfoliating scrub, its main ingredients are papaya and pineapple enzymes, BHAs and AHAs. It’s really a gentle exfoliant, it doesn't irritate and leaves my skin clean, smooth and full of glow. Added an ideal toner to brighten dull skin tone like GEORGETTE KLINGER - Vitamin C Toner
, helps control excess oil, purifies deep inside pores, calms redness and fades dark spots. Its main ingredients are kakadu plum (source of vitamin C), aloe, witch hazel, watercress and elderflower. I have been using this toner for 20 days and I love the results, eliminate redness and reduce dark spots, my skin looks cleaner, brighter and healthier. In the morning, I applied GLOW RECIPE - Banana Soufflé Moisture Cream
, a lightweight moisturizer that hydrates and calms the skin. It’s ideal for combination skin, leaves my skin feeling hydrated and glowy without leaving it greasy and smells delicious. Masks are an excellent treatment to help with your skincare concerns. I have millions of masks, I use one that I feel is best for me at the moment. ▪️If my skin needs hydration - SUMMER FRIDAYS - R + R Mask
▪️If I need something stronger - The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution
▪️If my skin feels dry or dull - SUMMER FRIDAYS - Jet Lag Mask
▪️If I need to control excess oil -NEOGENLAB - Canadian Clay Pore Cleanser
Sunscreen is the most important part of any beauty routine, since it prevents damage caused by UVB / UVA rays. One of my favorites is Supergoop! - Glowscreen Sunscreen SPF 40
, it leaves a subtle glow that makes you not look tired, in addition to leaving the skin very soft and hydrated. Gentle reminder: don't forget to drink water, staying hydrated is very important for healthy looking skin, sleeping well is also important as it helps the normal renewal and exfoliation of the skin.

Is this truly a miracle product? (Long Review) ❤
The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution Everyone is raving about the Ordinary Peeling solution on social media. And today I’m gonna review this product for you guys, so that it does not spoil your skin and you get know how to actually use this product and what to expect. So, a little about this product. The ordinary aha + bha peeling solution has both AHA ( Alpha Hydroxy Acid) and BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acid). Alpha hydroxy acids (AHA) exfoliate the skin’s topmost surface for a brighter and more even appearance. Beta hydroxy acids (BHA) also exfoliate the skin with an extended function to help clear pore congestion. A little about my skin : My skin is acne prone and a bit dry. I usually get hormonal acne near my periods. I stopped using physical scrubs as they started to make my skin more dry and they are harsh for the skin too. So, let’s talk about the product. I’ve been using this peeling solution for a long time now. First things first, DO NOT use this product after vigorously scrubbing your face or using a washcloth or any kind of harsh cleanser on your face. You just need to wash your face with normal water and pat it dry. Again, DO NOT put this product on wet or damp face. It’s going to irritate your skin for sure. And also, only use it at night while doing your skincare routine. So when you put the peeling solution on to your face for the first time, you will feel a tingling sensation on your face especially when you’ve never used any acids before and that is absolutely normal. You need to apply it evenly on your skin, keeping away from eye area, and then leave it on for 10 minutes. DO NOT leave it on for more than 10 minutes as it will start to tingle more and can irritate your skin. Wash your face with lukewarm water. Results: As I have acne prone skin and get hormonal acne from time to time, the blemishes that the acne leaves really started to stress me out. With the first use itself, I started noticing a glow on my skin and with time I noticed that my acne marks are fading and the texture of my skin started to change. You just need to use this product correctly for seeing the results you expect. It really helped me to fade my acne scars and my skin really started to glow. I don’t use physical scrubs anymore. I highly recommend this product for all skin types. As I also have sensitive skin myself, I can say that I never had any problem with this product. Just start using it guys, you will thank me later. After Care You have to make sure you moisturize your skin really well after using the ordinary peeling solution. I suggest to avoid any acne treatment/cream on the same night you use it. Use sunscreen DAILY. I cannot stress this enough. Guys, this solution acts as an exfoliant. And as a result it makes your skin sensitive to the sun. You have to make sure you apply sunscreen every single day. Have a great skin day 🥰🥰 thanks for reading! Plz comment a 🔥 if you read the whole thing 😱

No more uneven texture, dark spots✅ Allure 2020
best face mask I have ever used. To have that much of a concentration in a formula is out of this world and to be honest with you practically impossible to find these days. Not only is this product incredibly cheap, it actually works. When you aren't adjusted to ahas or BHA products I would advise you to be very cautious with this at first because when you first try it on you might go oh my gosh it stinks so bad and oh my gosh it's hurting my entire face and rinse it off immediately. It's increasing your cell turnover rate all while giving you an incredible glow and baby skin after you wash it off. This contains very powerful actives, that have been proven by science to actually work it isn't some gimmick. I put this on about two to three times a week in the mornings and then I will proceed with either a lactic acid or a glycolic acid or a vitamin C serum I never use all three on the same day you have to separate them otherwise they can mess with one another. I also find this mask to be incredibly awesome because of the color it looks like I'm bathing in the blood of my enemies oh, also I noticed that my products absorb way better after I use this mask. I will use this mask and wash it right off and then immediately proceed with the rest of my routine. I have noticed my skin becoming brighter, hyperpigmentation fading. Basically everything you could ever want in a mask. Leave on for only 10 minutes sometimes I'll leave on for 15, but just take a look of how bright my skin looks! Yes, it might be itchy and irritating at first but that's just because your skin is getting used to it, if it hurts REALLY bad I would slowly start to introduce AHAS and BHAS into your rotation of products. If you aren't comfortable by all means don't buy the product and don't use it. But this has to be my favorite products from the ordinary besides their niacinamide 10% and their Buffet. Today i used my hydrating cleanser, then I went on with this mask for 15 minutes, and then I went straight away to my Ren toner Ready Steady glow daily AHA tonic then I put the alpha arbutin 2% + h a from the ordinary on top. Also Alpha arbutin helps the absorption of ahas things such as lactic acid and glycolic acid , my (toner) is made out of lactic acid and numerous other things. Then I will moisturize with my snail recovery gel by mizon, and last I will put a broad-spectrum chemical moisturizer on that is from Japan. It is the Biore Aqua Essence 50 + PA + + + + if you are using any sort of acids or actives you need to be wearing sunscreen every single day. I have no other BHA products in my skin care rotation, I believe that this gives me enough for my skin to be happy with. I don't really struggle with acne anymore because of my exhausting routine, but hey at least something works out in my life. You can do reverse damage if you neglect that. Happy skin caring! The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution

Is Glow Recipe...the Right Recipe?
Now this brand can be considered luxury with relatively high price points. Much like other luxury brands, a lot of the formulations have high amounts of fragrance which can be very irritating. GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow PHA+BHA Pore-Tight Toner -Great source of proven hydrators and leaves a healthy glow -Antioxidant rich formula that is alcohol free. -Helps smooth texture. -Fragranced and the ph is outside of the ideal PHA and BHA needed to effectively exfoliate. GLOW RECIPE - Blueberry Bounce Gentle Cleanser -Contains a good amount of antioxidants. -Effectively removes dirt and oil then rinses cleanly without leaving the feeling of tight skin. -Stings eyes when used to remove eye makeup. -Contains fragrance which is potentially irritating and product cannot fight acne as claimed. GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon + AHA Glow Sleeping Mask -Lotion-gel texture that absorbs quickly and includes skin soothing ingredients. -Includes sodium hyaluronate and antioxidant rich plants. -Fragranced and packaged in a jar which can compromise the ingredients. GLOW RECIPE - Avocado Melt Retinol Sleeping Face Mask -Spreads easily and absorbs quickly which leaves skin hydrated. -Includes four forms of avocado which contains fatty acids and antioxidants. -Contains fragrance and is packaged in a jar which can put the ingredients at risk. GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow Pink Juice Moisturizer -Lightweight, gel-like texture which is perfect for combination to oily skin. -Contains fragrance. -It also contains two kinds of antioxidant rich watermelon extracts. GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow Jelly Sheet Mask -Mask has very moisturizing and soothing ingredients. -It’s easy to use and isn’t overly saturated -Contains fragrance which can be irritating GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow Ultra-Fine Mist -Fog-like mist settles lightly while refreshing both skin and makeup. -Includes hyaluronic acid and soothing extracts. -Contains fragrance. GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow Lip Pop -Adds a sheer pink color that can be built up for more pop. -The balm doesn’t offer long lasting hydration compared to the best formulas of today. -Contains potentially irritating fragrance which can worsen dry lips. -Doesn’t exfoliate as well as claimed GLOW RECIPE - Papaya Sorbet Smoothing Enzyme Cleansing Balm -Lightweight cream that contains extracts rich with antioxidants. -Effectively removes makeup, dirt, oil, and spf. -Fragranced which can be irritating. Conclusion: This brand has too many products that have fragrance which can be very irritating to the skin. There are products with other issues such as packaging that can put the ingredients at risk and cause hygiene issues. Although I wouldn’t recommend this brand, the oil free moisturizer is actually pretty good.

🔍 Physical Exfoliation: Cancelled?
💎 Isn’t Physical Exfoliation Bad for You? No, but like many things, physical exfoliation gets a bad reputation very often due to the misuse of products or the poor formulation of some others (the infamous St. Ives 💀) How to Use Physical Exfoliants Effectively/Gently: ⭐️Many people do not evenly distribute the facial scrub, and fail to even distribute the product across the entirety of their face, thus leading to ineffective exfoliation in some areas of the face (e.g. the sides of the nose and forehead) ⭐️Many People do not Emulsify (add water) the product on their face, and/or apply onto already damp skin; thus contributing to the possibility of over exfoliation and irritation, but most (if not all) physical exfoliants recommend emulsifying the product ⭐️Many people run to darn HARSHLY. Your skin is yours forever, treat yourself with care, you deserve it (no excuses!)🤍 ⭐️ Not all physical exfoliants are created equal. After trying the St. Ives Apricot Scrub, don’t assume all scrubs are formulated the same way! ** if you have interest or preference for physical exfoliation over chemical, then power to you, don’t feel ashamed because the trend is in favor is chemical exfoliation. Both are valid 🤍 💎 Review: BRUJITA - Purple Reina Facial Scrub 💜the brand has no added fragrance, the scents I detect come directly from the use of several natural ingredients, making this product is the antithesis of irritating. This provides delicate and thorough exfoliation, even for mature skin. It’s formulated with wonderful smoothing and creamy texture, using fruit seeds This, again, is one that emulsifies beautifully and a little goes a long way. 💜Brujita Skincare is a small business created by a Latina Esthetician and her products are incredibly innovative, and they use scientifically backed ingredients to give you the biggest bang for your buck. I will keep supporting them as long as they continue to make great simple products. 💜The Purple Reina Facial Scrub is featured here to discuss physical exfoliants, because I really think that exfoliation can go so wrong and misunderstood so easily. Many people don’t want to deal with AHA BHA or PHA percentages and stinging (oh so much stinging!), so physical exfoliation is the simple go-to formulation for exfoliation. Wonderful physical exfoliants to consider: ACURE - Brightening Facial Scrub BRUJITA - Santa Limpia Facial Scrub teamí - Green Tea Facial Scrub dermalogica - Daily Microfoliant Exfoliator GOOD MOLECULES - Pineapple Exfoliating Powder ** if you have anything to add or more Exfoliants to recommend please mention them in the comments, thank you 🖤

Brand spotlight: Neogen
▶️NEOGENLAB - Real Fresh Cleansing Stick Green Tea - winner of the 2017 Teen Vogue Acne Awards and deemed “one of the coolest creations to come out of Korea,” this travel friendly and all in one stick cleanser was formulated with 13 botanical oils to breakdown makeup, sunscreen, and cleanse your skin of all impurities. There are also natural green tea leaves imbedded in the cleansing stick to provide a gentle exfoliation to reveal brighter more even toned skin. I’ve tried stick cleansers in the past and while they were convenient for traveling, they always left a film on my skin and tight afterwards. I had the same reservations about this one but to my surprise, this left my skin feeling hydrated and fresh. I assume it’s because of the oils in the formula but I really enjoyed using this. It lathers nicely and cleanses my skin of everything. ▶️ NEOGENLAB - Real Rerment Micro Essence - one of my all time favorite essences. This hydrating and brightening essence is formulated with 93% naturally fermented ingredients as well as betaine, allantoin, sodium hyaluronate, adenosine, niacinamide, and various amino acids. I forgot how much I loved this essence. Used directly after cleansing, this watery first treatment essence quickly absorbs to restore hydration and prep my skin for the remainder of my routine without any stickiness. There’s also the plumping effect that this gives after 1-2 skins that I love so much. After consistent use, I can easily see my skin looking brighter and more even toned. This is probably one of the more hydrating FTE’s that I’ve tried. ▶️ NEOGENLAB - Real Ferment Micro Serum - the perfect companion for its essence counterpart. This viscous and creamy gel serum delivers a boost of nutrients and antioxidants to the skin with its elegant formula comprised of 61% fermented ingredients as well as niacinamide, adenosine, sodium hyaluronate, centella asiatica, hydrolyzed collagen, ascorbic acid, and vitamin e.This is very moisturizing and it leaves a bit of tacky and dewy finish once it’s absorbed. Upon application, you can see slightly plumper and brighter skin. It layers well with no pilling issues so regardless, you won’t even feel it once you’ve applied something else on top. Over time, I saw noticeably brighter skin that had that felt bouncier and firmer. ▶️NEOGENLAB - Canadian Clay Pore Cleanser - a 2 in 1 detoxifying mask and cleanser that eliminates excess sebum and blackheads while also cleansing the skin of makeup, dead skin cells, and clogged pores. This mask cleansers contains a ton of extracts, micro-particles of natural glacial marine soil, and colloidal clay from West Coast British Columbia, Canada. This has a creamy clay texture that easily spreads onto the skin. After a few minutes of application, the clay begins to foam on the skin to help draw impurities from the pores. Once the foaming has stopped, proceed to massage it into the skin and then rinse with water. I thought this was fun to use but using this everyday left my skin a bit dry. I preferred to use it every few days which was nice to help refresh my skin. ▶️NEOGENLAB - A-Clear Soothing Spot Patch - these are your typical hydrocolloid acne patches that help absorb excess sebum and secretions from your breakouts while also protecting the area from dirt and bacteria. These come in two sizes which is great for different sized pimples. I always enjoy having acne patches on hand because they help prevent me from picking at my pimples. After I intentionally or accidentally pop my spots, these are great for reducing the size of them overnight.

Supergoop! - Play Everyday Lotion SPF 30 with Sunflower Extract Sunscreen prevents wrinkles, penetration of UVA and UVB rays, signs of aging, and decreases risk of skin cancers. I put sunscreen on even when it’s not sunny! It’s a great habit to continue in your routine to keep you looking youthful. I love Supergoop because the sunscreen blends so nicely into my skin without that weird white cast many sunscreens can leave..the glowscreen Supergoop! - Glowscreen Sunscreen SPF 40 is one of my faves it give you that stunning lit from within glow. Use the 2 finger rule and continue to wear your sunscreen!!! Hopes this helps!

Just a golden hour skin update 😍
COVID & quarantine have taught me a lot- most importantly being how essential it is to be consistent in order to see skincare results. HALLOWEEN SKINCARE READY!🏆🧡
So halloween this year is probably going to be very different but we normally, we have to be ready to apply piles of heavy makeup to become a whole new character that night! 🌛 Being from the south Asian community, we are used to wedding season = heavy makeup for a whole week so I think over time, I have my routine pretty good to ensure my skin doesn’t go absolutely insane! Here are some of my tips for you!!☺️ So my oily skin, acne prone, sensitive skin friends, hydration is very important when wearing tons of makeup, even if you want your skin to be matte! SUMMER FRIDAYS - Jet Lag Mask this is where I use this gem before makeup and even at the end of the night just to ensure I never loose any moisture from my skin where it feels right! This multipurpose protract not only helps with the way my makeup applies and looks, but also helps to heal and soothe my skin after taking it all off!👍🏽 Another amazing product you need to take preventative measure after removing a full face is PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator this is a HG in my routine whether I’m wearing a ton of makeup or not but a BHA is a must to really clear out the pores and to deep clean out all the gunk that maybe under the skin! 💎 using a BHA will help prevent any acne that maybe waiting to surface up or even any dirt that could eventually turn into a pimple and destroy it while keeping your skin smooth as butter😘 let’s talk about removal! When wearing heavy makeup, I’m very extra so I actually TRIPLE cleanse those nights! I first start off with my oil cleanse and recently I’ve been using the - Softymo Deep Cleansing Oil which I actually do enjoy. I haven’t noticed any breakouts from it and it actually really deep cleans everything off my skin! I massage this onto dry skin for a good amount of time and I’m very generous with the amount I use to make sure I breakdown EVERYTHING! Once I emulsify it with water and rub it in a little more and wash it off, it’s time for the next step Next up is my GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Cleanser & Waterproof Makeup Remover which I’ve been using for years! This is a crucial step I have to take for my sensitive skin. I use a cotton round soacked in this solution and rub it all over my skin, my hair like, jaw, neck and my ears! Please makeup sure you hit all these points to ensure you really get rid of that top layer before going in with your cleanser! Im telling y’all, these products and steps I take not only help me prevent my skin from going insane but also help with any acne that do come up! #cheriepartner

First impression of the infamous jet lag mask!
I bought this a few weeks ago and finally tested it out last night. I got the mini size ($25 from Sephora) and I really liked it except for one thing... it felt like it left residue on my skin even though I cleansed my face after. I do like how it made my face feel soft and hydrated so I will continue trying it and give a more thorough review soon. Also I really like the toothpaste-like packaging because I feel like I can squeeze all of the product out and then roll the end of the tube to secure it.

The only SF product that hasn’t worked for me
Summer Fridays - R+R mask 🥀 ⁣ ⁣ I’ll be honest, this mask didn’t really work out for me. I love the idea of it but it felt too oily for my skin. It does gently buff skin for a brighter, more radiant look but I always find myself having to get rid of the excess oil because there’s just too much to be absorbed. The oils are wonderful for the skin - argan, safflower, sesame, avocado and grape seed - it’s just the ratio of oil to exfoliating rose powder it a little too much. I’ve opted to try to use this on my body so as not to waste it!⁣ ⁣ I did pick this up last winter when it was 50% off. Even at that price, I’m not sure I would purchase it again, even as a body exfoliator. HOWEVER, I absolutely love Overtime, Jetlag, and the lip butter balm and would highly recommend those over R+R if you had to choose. ⁣ ⁣ SUMMER FRIDAYS - R + R Mask

Is there a Summer Fridays Product we dont love??
We have both been huge Summer Fridays fans since the very start with the Jet Lag mask! As they continue to grow, we are continually testing out and using all of their products. We are going to touch on a few of our favorites!! and YES the products are more than just their pretty (very pretty) packaging! SUMMER FRIDAYS - Super Amino Gel Cleanser We both have been using this cleanser for the last while! It is super gentle and pH balancing - our only warning is that if you have dry skin, you may need extra hydration following it! Because of this, we will likely be switching it out for a more non-stripping cleanser as the months get colder. SUMMER FRIDAYS - Overtime Mask The overtime mask helps exfoliate and polish your skin leaving your skin feeling refreshed and rejuvenated! We definitely notice our skin looking brighter and pores cleaner after using it! We also love the delicious fall pumpkin spice scent - TRULY a fall necessity! SUMMER FRIDAYS - R + R Mask This is one of our ALL TIME favourite masks!! It buffs your skin with light exfoliation, and also leaves an oily film on your skin for long term hydration! We love using this before bed to wake up with healthy plump skin! Their natural fragrances are not disappointing again - this has an amazing light rose scent! Have you tried any of these? What is your favorite Summer Fridays product?

The perfect anti-aging duo
VIVIER - Retinol 1% Night Complex Derived from vitamin A that increases the rate of skin cell turnover, forming young cells, decreasing superficial dark spots, increases the amount of fibroblasts and produces more collagen and supporting proteins, making the skin look firmer. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% It has anti-aging effects, reduces pigmentation, helps fight acne, reduces facial redness and hydrates. It is well known that retinol causes irritation when you start using it, there are studies that suggest that if you use niacinamide before starting to use retinol you could avoid the chances of irritation since it increases the skin tolerance to this ingredient. This combination is also amazing for its anti-aging effects, niacinamide improves the effects of retinol by improving fine lines, wrinkles, pigmentation and skin texture. Apply niacinamide first if it comes in form of a serum or last if it comes in form of a cream. I highly recommend this combination for people who are going to start a retinol regimen and for those who already use this ingredient to enhance its anti-aging effects.

Do’s and don’ts: large pores
Skin type: combination. Skin concerns: large pores. The pores correspond to the opening of the hair follicles on the surface of the skin. The hair follicle resembles a canal, which contains facial hair and is connected to the sebaceous glands (sebum producers). It is common to see large pores on acne and/or oily skin. Pore size is closely related to genetic 🧬, hormonal, and environmental factors. Over the years, the pores increase in diameter due to the loss of firmness of the skin. The products that I have used to improve the appearance of the pores are retinol (at night) and vitamin C (in the morning and at night after retinol) I also try to exfoliate my skin 1-2 times a week and use masks that help clean the pores or hydrate the skin once a week, in addition to using sunscreen (I apply it every 4 hours). Do’s: 👍🏻 Wash your face twice a day with water and soap 🧼 (depending on your skin type). 👍🏻 Exfoliate and use astringent masks 1-2 times a week. 👍🏻 Creams with vitamin A derivatives (retinoids) decrease sebum production, accelerate cell turnover and tighten the skin. 👍🏻 Use “non-comedogenic” products 🧴. 👍🏻 Vitamin C 🍊aids collagen and elastin production and brightens the appearance of skin. Don’ts: 👎🏻 Washing your face too often causes you to produce more oil, enlarged pores and more breakouts may appear. 👎🏻 Don’t expose yourself much to the sun ☀️, sun damage makes your pores appear larger and contributes to the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. 👎🏻 Air pollution and smoke 🚬 accelerate the aging process of the skin 👵🏻. 👎🏻 Exfoliating more than you should weekly can lead to increased sebum production and make your pores appear larger.

Skin concern: hyperpigmentation
Skin concern: dark spot (hyperpigmentation) Skin type: combination 7 years ago I met a dermatologist at an event and when he saw me he said "you have a dark spot on your face" I told him that it was not possible and he replied "can I show you?" He take photos with a dermatological camera, the truth at that time is that I didn’t see the dark spots that he said I had, even seeing the photos from the camera I didn’t see where he said I had them. He told me "use this SkinTx kit" SkinTx - Starter system program 3 (hyperpigmentation) I started using it a month before I got married and it was the worst decision of my life! It caused me cystic acne, I ended up marrying with a pimple on my chin 😑😭. I stopped using the treatment and forgot about the dark spot. Years passed... and that hyperpigmentation that he told me I had, right where he pointed me, was visible. One day I saw myself in the mirror and I saw it! 😱 I was in shock, so I immediately spoke to him and asked for an appointment. My treatment from the beginning consisted of VIVIER - Retinol 1% Night Complex and VIVIER - Serum 10 and obviously sunscreen. At first I was peeling, experience minimal skin redness and irritation, after a few weeks those discomforts passed and I began to notice improvements in the quality of the skin, decreased the appearance of pores and fine lines. Month after month I went back to the dermatologist and did a new scan with the camera and we saw how the dark spot was disappearing. After 10 months of treatment the dark spot was gone! He decided to change my treatment since my skin already tolerated that percentage of retinol and I changed it to ZO SKIN HEALTH - Retinol Skin Brightener .5% , honestly it was not the best decision since I got cystic acne again. So we decided to go back to the previous retinol. To date it is the treatment that I continue to use, it no longer irritates me or makes me peel off, and I think it is the reason that my skin remains healthy and with few signs of aging. In the morning I use vitamin C and sunscreen and at night I applied vitamin C first and then retinol. Retinol is a cosmetic treatment derived from vitamin A. It has been used topically to help decrease the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, smooth texture, and decrease hyperpigmentation. It is generally well tolerated. Vitamin C is one of the best anti-aging treatments (helps with fine lines, wrinkles, uneven skin texture and tone), protects against sun damage and its safe to use in conjunction with retinol.

My skincare awards: toners
🥇GEORGETTE KLINGER - Vitamin C Toner $26 This is the toner that I've been using lately, I love the results of Georgette Klinger's Vitamin C line. I had a chance to try it thanks Georgette Klinger and Cherie. Leaves skin fresh and clean, helps diminish dark spots, calms redness, purifies pores and brightens dull skin tone. Its main ingredients: kakadu plum, aloe, withc hazel, watercress and elderflower. It is a lightweight liquid that absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave sticky. It definitely decreased the redness on my skin and has helped decrease dark spots. 🥈 PEACH & LILY - The Good Acids Pore Toner It is a gentle formula even with sensitive skin. Contains AHAs, salicylic acid, cape lilac, eggplant, turmeric extracts, aloe and allantoin. I had the opportunity to try it thanks to a BoxyCharm box. I have used it a few times but I liked it, it doesn’t cause irritation and absorbs quickly, its texture is liquid and it has no odor. It is ideal for oily and combination skin. It is definitely a gentle exfoliating toner that doesn’t cause irritation, making it ideal for even the most sensitive skin. ❌ YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Kombucha + 11% AHA Exfoliation Power Toner $38 Long ago I did a review of this toner, I had used it for two weeks and my first impression was that it didn’t absorb well, since it leaves sticky feeling. In fact they mention it on their website, but for me that feeling is unbearable. I found it as a new product at Sephora and bought it to try it out as I had a good experience with the cleanser. I still have the same opinion of that time, the truth is that I wouldn’t buy it again. Its main ingredients: kombucha black tea fermented, tree bark ferment, ginger, lactic acid, glycolic acid, citrus bioflavonoids and lemons water extract. Its texture is liquid, they say "liquid, lightweight", it has no added fragrance. Every time I use it, it causes a little irritation that goes away the next morning, but I think the Peach & Lily is gentler than this toner. It is used 3-5 times a week, at night. I definitely prefer the first two options as they don't irritate me. But I think it depends on your skin type, since many people do very well with YTTP toner.

Vitamin C: the ultimate glow inducing ingredient
Vitamin C is one of my favorite powerhouse ingredients! This amazing antioxidant is just great to brighten, correct hyperpigmentation and get an even skin tone! 🍊 I personally am a big fan, and love to use vitamin C to get bright, luminous skin. It’s been so useful to me lately as I’ve been feeling stressed and picking at my skin and it’s so so good to correct darks spots and post-acne marks. These vitamin C products from Georgette Klinger (gifted) we’re just the perfect fit for me! The GEORGETTE KLINGER - Vitamin C Complex is a lovely serum formulated with Kakadu plum and hyaluronic acid (another ingredient I just love) to promote the absorption of vitamin C. It’s important to know the correct order to apply a vitamin C serum and it should always be after toner but before moisturizer, following the thinnest to thickets rule and you should always, always apply SPF after! Unless you’re applying it at night, in which case you’re good without SPF 😜 I first learned about vitamin C from my husband, and the statues my own research, it’s been one of my tried and true ingredients for years!

Get rid of dry patches instantly -Peeling gels
Do you get large or small dry flakey patches because of either colder weather or retinoids or acne treatments? I do get these dry flakey patches all the time with my retinoid use and sometimes when the air gets dry around me. But that isn't the main concern for me, these dry patches come in my way of getting a good flawless foundation routine. When I have an event or meeting to attend and if I have these dry patches it's hard for me to moisturize them and keep them moisturized and look good under my makeup. There was only one solution to such dry fkakey skin, that is Exfoliation!! I figured the quick exfoliating masks and solutions (chemical exfoliation) work but they did not get rid of those dry patches completely. So I tried these peeling gels before my morning shower and vola!! They instantly removed my dry patches and made my skin super soft and smooth for a flawless makeup application!! 😍❤️ I love using these both, @wishful Yo Glow enzyme scrub HUDA BEAUTY - Yo Glow Facial Enzyme Scrub @saturdayskin Rub-A-Dub Refining peel gel SATURDAY SKIN - Rub-A-Dub Refining Peel Gel ✨ These both are refining physical exfoliators that work by creating white balled up action and pills when you rub it gently on your skin. They generally have chemical exfoliants as well like Papaya and pineapple enzymes as well as physical exfoliators. The lightweight, milky texture gently buffs away dead skin cells and impurities for immediate results that also makes the perfect canvas for seamless makeup application. You start off with a watery gel like this, which you spread over your face then you see the product balling up on your face creating this weird peeled skin texture. ✨But have you Wondered what is it exactly?? Is it your skin falling off or peeling that way? Is it just the product that's balling up and not exfoliate skin well? or is it just a gimmick?? The Answer is: peeling gels are actually a very gentle physical scrub – the scrubbing bits are the soft, bunched up fibres, which are usually made of bunched up acrylates/C10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer* (sometimes listed as “carbomer” in the ingredients list). Some gels also contain a lot of cellulose, which adds to the bunching effect (this is usually in the opaque ones) ☑️😍Conclusion: Peeling gels aren’t chemical exfoliants – they’re gentle physical exfoliants (scrubs). The fibres form from ingredients that are in the gel to begin with, balling up from the rubbing motion with some help from oils on your skin. There will be a small amount of dead skin in there too. I am a fan of Peeling gels, they definitely help me a lot with instant exfoliation without being crazy abrasive on my skin. This is the evidence I like physical exfoliants as much as I love chemical ones. 😊❤️ Have you used Peeling gels? Do you like them? Share your thoughts ❤️

Exfoliation 101 - Let's burst some myths!
Let's get to know about exfoliants more! No matter if you're a skincare junkie, expert or just a beginner, skin exfoliation can be very tricky and confusing and most of the mainstream skin advices can be minimally backed by science and geared towards selling the product or giving you false information. That's how skincare myths are formed. I'm talking about some pretty known myths about Exfoliation : ✨Like, Physical exfoliants/scrubs are bad for your skin and they cause micro-tears that lead to infection or they're worse than Chemical exfoliants: Physical exfoliants that contain irregular granular sizes and shapes are definitely going to irritate your skin. But if you're a well-experienced skincare person or someone who knows how to handle gentle, small granular exfoliants well like professionals, in such hands it can be a very effective. Take Micro-dermabrasion or Dermaplaning for instance. If you haven't done it before it's likely to cause you some irritation, I wouldn't say damage as it's a truly strong and deep term to use. Our skin can naturally heal itself to a large degree, that self-healing capability can be overstressed with exogenous (outside/physical) factors and sometimes Indogenous (inner) factors such as your ethnicity, genetics and some skin conditions like dermititis, rosacea or psoriasis. So, my point here is, the myth that only physical exfoliators cause any damage to our skin is incorrect. On top of that, physical exfoliants cause micro-tears is a far stretched myth that doesn't have enough scientific evidence to support. The thing about it is anything harsh on our skin is going to cause inflammation and redness but chemical exfoliants can cause the same if done too much. For our skin to break or tear and get a cut there needs to be a lot of pressure and sharpness to the object. The scrubs don't necessarily tear/cut our skin unless you're rubbing it too harsh or with a lot of pressure and over-doing it. Chemical exfoliators can overstress and irritate our skin at the same degree as well, if overdone. Damage is a strong word for any skincare regimen that is backed by science. It's a fairly vast topic to discuss here but here's the crux of the topic that I'm trying to highlight. Not over-exfoliating is the only key to keep our skin healthy and non-irritated. Be it physical or chemical exfoliants. We need some of the dead skin cells on our Stratum Corneum. Meaning, we should let our Stratum Corneum have a layer of some dead skin cells along with it's biome. The diverse yet integrated functions of the SC collectively serve to detect, protect, respond, and/or adapt against several exogenous factors. Now, why I like or majority of people like chemical exfoliants is because they seem to be hustle free, you apply a thin layer and leave it overnight or for few minutes and it thins down our Stratum Corneum that is the deal skin cells on our skin as well as penetrates deeper in skin and decongests it. But for many people chemical exfoliants can be quite intimidating and if they like to do manual Exfoliation it's totally fine as long as they're not putting a lot of pressure and overdoing it. ✔️👍 I like both physical and chemical exfoliation. I use these chemical facial peeling solutions or masks as well as gentle scrubs to take care of my dead skin. These are some of the exfoliators I use. These are all types of exfoliators, Physical - Scrubs, Peeling gels Chemical - Facial AHA, BHA masks, solutions, in shower facials These are the ones I don't find so attractive for the price: Scrubs: 1. @avantskincare Gentle Rose beautifying facial exfoliant 114$avant - Gentle Rose Beautifying Face Exfoliant The ones I like: Scrubs: 1. @skinandco Face gommage 26$SKIN&CO - Truffle Therapy Gommage Peeling gels: 1. @wishfulskin Yo Glow enzyme scurb 39$HUDA BEAUTY - Yo Glow Facial Enzyme Scrub 2. @saturdayskin Rub-a-dub Refining peel gel 28$SATURDAY SKIN - Rub-A-Dub Refining Peel Gel Instant Facial masks/solutions: 1. @theordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution 7.20$The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution 2. @olehenriksen PHAT Glow Facial™ Mask 50$OLE HENRIKSEN - PHAT Glow Facial Mask 3. @aveeno POSITIVELY RADIANT® 60 Second In-Shower Facial Aveeno - Positively Radiant 60 Second In-Shower Facial Cleanser

5 Do’s and 2 Don’t’s to treat your hyperpigmenta
5 Do’s and 2 Don’t’s to treat your hyperpigmenta
We all have gone through dark spots I’m sure, whether it’s from an old acne spot, a sun spot or a scar. It’s disheartening when we want that beautiful even looking skin and then there are these dots of red or brown in the way. I have significant acne scarring and hella dry skin from years of cystic acne and destroying my skin.... so I’m going to give you my best tips! Do: Vitamin C! It’s a powerhouse antioxidant ingredient that fights free radical damage that can make these spots appear or even worsen them. It’s proven to lighten up and even skin tone for that beautiful bright glow! I love the Tatcha Violet C mask for weekly use as it somehow just brightens the skin quite instantly! TATCHA - Violet-C Radiance Mask Do: chemical exfoliation. This is your AHA products to dissolve the glue that is holding the dead and damaged skin to the surface. It helps get rid of them so healthier cells can find their way to the surface and shine! Honeymoon Glow from Farmacy is a fan favourite. Take it easy tho, a couple times a week is fine. FARMACY - Honeymoon Glow Serum Or you can do the ordinary peel once a week! The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution Do: Niacinamide. This is another superstar ingredient that will brighten up the skin and help those spots look lighter. It’s also good for oil control so that acne doesn’t pop up and cause more spots! The new cream from Caudalie is beautiful and will moisturizer at the same time! CAUDALIE - Vinoperfect Brightening Moisturizer with Niacinamide Do: Hydrate!! When treating skin concerns it can be easy to just dry the skin out and attack it with treatments. We forget how delicate our skin is. SO HYDRATE AND MOISTURIZE MORNING AND NIGHT!! Your skin will always look more healthy this way. Do: SPF! If you ain’t protecting the skin from damage, all the effort in your skincare is pointless. Protect from the sun who will cause those spots to get worse and even create them. Protect your precious newly exfoliated and brightened skin so it stays healthy. I don’t care the excuses. EVERYDAY! The new one from First Aid Beauty is lightweight, non greasy, gives a slight glow with its tint and works well under makeup FIRST AID BEAUTY - Weightless Liquid Mineral SPF 30 Don’t: Over do it. Please keep the chemical exfoliation to once a week for a strong treatment or 3-4x a week for a more regular treatment. Overdoing it will literally make your skin 10x worse and more damaged, red and sore. Don’t: FORGET THE SPF. But also, please keep suntanning or tanning beds and such to a minimum. This will not clear your skin. It’s not worth it if you want clear skin. Bonus: Do not, please, do not pick at your face!! It’s satisfying to pop pimples or scratch a scab, but the scar lasts too long for it to be worth it.

My Skincare Routine
I’ll go into detail about each one in separate posts, but this is everything I use as a collective. The only thing that isn’t pictured are my cleansers, I use Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser for the days I exfoliating or need something more gentle. I love how light the scent is, and how easy it is on my skin, but if you need something more acne fighting, I would suggest something stronger since this product is all about cleaning. I’m still learning what type of cleanser is for what type of skin, but it’s a gel consistency and has a nice smooth and thick texture, so I believe it’d be great for oily/combo skin types. I also use a turmeric brightening cleanser but can’t remember the name and I’m away from home. 😊

drunk elephant A-Passioni Retinol Cream: i would use this as a spot treatment, about every other day. Its my first time using retinol and it is a high concentration 1% which is why i decided to start of slowly. I’ve been using it for 3mo now and i’ve seen a difference. New pimple/redness would be gone overnight, and my hyperpigmentation has faded over time. It does take commitment when using this product. You won’t see results overnight. It is pricey, so if you have the money, i would recommend this product. drunk elephant T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night serum: i use this twice a week. I apply it on dry skin, as recommended. It does tingle but subsides after a few minutes. Overnight, i feel that my face is smooth like a baby’s butt. I was really surprised on how well this works. It has AHA/BHA mostly AHA which works on the skins surface and helps unglue the dead skin cells so you can expose the new layer of skin. You do need to follow with a sunscreen the morning after. All drunk elephant are pricey, but would recommend 100% Farmacy Green Clean cleansing balm: first time using a cleansing balm and works so much better at removing my waterproof mascara. A little goes a long way depending on how much makeup you wear. I dont use much, but i do use sunscreen everyday (i try my best) and double cleansing is a must! Laneige Cream Skin Toner & Moisturizer: i use this every morning, after washing my face with water only. I dont usually wash my face in the morning unless i workout or feel the need to. This product works as a two in one: toner & moisturizer. I do have combo/oily skin, and some may say its too greasy for oil skin, but at night i use harsh ingredients and i like to use this to restore my skin barrier and moisturize my skin as my night time routine can be drying.

What happened after 10 days of a vitamin C line
What happened after 10 days of a vitamin C line
Over the past 10 days I have been trying out Georgette Klinger’s Vitamin C line! For a bit of background, I have acne prone skin and some hyperpigmentation from previous pimples. I went into this hoping to see improvements. To get the negatives out of the way first, I really dislike that these products have fragrance. All 4 products in this line have fragrance listed as the last ingredient. I would prefer products with active ingredients such as vitamin C to have no fragrance at all as to reduce any chance of irritation. The Vitamin C complex in particular was irritating to my skin so I omitted it from my routine early in the 10 days. My favorite from his line is the Vitamin C mask. I’m a big fan of masks and wash off treatments. I also love thta this is a bentonite clay based mask because those tend to work well with my oily skin. I will definitely continue to use this mask and don’t mind the fragrance in this formula because it is a wash off. As for the toner and cleanser, I didn’t see much positive or negative effects on my skin. They were okay and got the job done but I’m not sure if they’re something I want to include in my everyday routine. At the end of this challenge I can definitely see an improvement in the brightness of my skin. I will say however that my skin took a while to recover from any irritation it faced and I’m not sure if including an active ingredient in every step of your routine is necessarily more effective.

Products for pores!
Products for pores!
🐰My skin type/concerns- I have very dry skin in the winter and a normal skin type during the summer! Occasionally I will get bad acne throughout the year, I also have bad redness and hyperpigmentation, and pores! 🐰this review is for products I have tried to minimize my pores! ✅worked ❌didn’t work 🐭Product list: ✅Belif Aqua bomb moisturizer- I discovered this moisturizer about 8 months ago and fell in love! I love using this moisturizer morning and night, it is amazing at minimizing the look of my pores! I see a huge difference from before and after I use this! It’s amazing ingredients is everything that helps with my pores! ✅drunk elephant t.l.c serum- I discovered this serum from a friend recommending this to me after trying it and telling me how much it helped minimize her pores! I have been using this for about 6 months! I always use this at night because I know when I wake up my pores look super reduced and my skin is very soothed for when I start the day! I always use this right before applying eye cream and moisturizer! This serum is very lightweight and gives me the perfect hydration my skin needs, and is amazing with minimizing my pores overnight! ✅Glow recipes watermelon sleeping mask- I saw this all over social media when it came out, and when I saw some reviews for it I knew it would be perfect for my skin and I immediately bought it! I have been using this for about 6 months! I also only use this at night and whenever I use it before bed I see the biggest difference in my pores when I wake up! I use this right after I cleanse my face! The very thick consistency of this is super helpful before going to bed because I know I will wake up with super moisturized skin! ❌tatcha water cream- I found this moisturizer from a family member recommending it to me, and saying how much it helped with her pores! I saw the pricy price tag but I still went for it! I used it for a couple months of the summer, and it was perfect for my summer skin type! But when winter came around this was not giving my skin the hydration it needs, and I learned this is more for oily type skin! This didn’t change the look of my pores at all, I saw no difference when I used this at night and when I would wake up nothing changed! Discovering Essences
Discovering Essences
Essences aren’t new in the skincare world, but it wasn’t until recently more brands added them to their repertoire. An essence is a concentrated formula that targets wrinkles, fine lines, and dull skin. Most essences contain an active ingredient that promotes cell turnover. Eventually, the daily use of essences in your routine will lead to smoother and brighter skin. However, don’t be fooled by the promises that essences are somehow anti-aging powerhouses. I think of them as your skin’s multivitamin. Who Should Use this Essence Here’s the good thing about this product, because it’s almost entirely snail mucin filtrate, everyone should use it. But, you know I don’t believe in that “best for all skin types” stuff brands like to promote. To me, this product is a classic staple on everyone’s skincare routine, but those who need it have: Sensitive skin Dry skin Acne-prone skin Why? Because snail mucin can help reduce redness, nourishes at a cellular level, and provides a glow that will help fade out acne scars. But, most importantly, the combination of naturally-found hyaluronic and glycolic acid make it a must-have if you have sensitive or dry skin. How to Use this Essence It’s relatively simple to use an essence. After you’re done with the toner, use one or two pumps of product, it spreads easily. Apply all over your face and neck. Start from the center and work your way our with pulling motions, almost like a massage. Wait for it to dry before you move to the next step.
