Dry hands đŠ đđ»đ·

This quarantine, constant hand washing and the use of antibacterial gel has caused dryness and irritation in our hands.
When I leave my house and I have to apply antibacterial gel constantly, my hands feels tight, burning and itchy đ©.
I have tried these two products that have helped me a lot to calm the irritation.

Slugging with Aquaphor Healing Ointment!
Aquaphor - Aquaphor Healing Ointment
Ok guys, Iâve heard about this a lot and my skin is so darn dry that no moisturizer lasts overnight. My skin ends up extremely dry and flaky and red the next morning and nothing is helping me heal or improve my skin. Everything Iâve tried kind of just helps short term and is good in the moment, bust still wears over time, so Iâm going to try slugging! What is slugging? I wasnât sure, so I googled what it really was and Byrdie said, âSlugging is a K-Beauty skincare trend which includes coating your face in petrolatum or Vaseline. This prevents transepidermal water loss and keeps moisture in your skin.â This sounds like it would be worth a try, I am a side and tummy sleeper so Iâm hoping that it doesnât get all over my pillow. Iâm only putting the Aquaphor on my chin area because thatâs the only area where I feel I need it. Iâll keep updating as I keep doing it, but Iâm really hoping this saves my skin!
*morning of day 1: it worked! I just woke up and looked in the mirror and I didnât see any flakiness!!!! Iâm gonna keep trying it for a few days to see if I can really get that patch permanently fixed, Iâm so excited! Iâve had that darn thing for years in the winter.
*morning of day 3: WOW MY SKIN IS SMOOOOOOOTH AND SO NOT DRY! The only annoying thing is trying not to get it on my pillow since Iâm a side/tummy sleeper but this is really working for me! And this is great because I meant to purchase hand cream, got this instead, and had no idea what to do with it until I heard about slugging.

Eczema flair ups
So after being home for what seems like forever, iâve suddenly had a flair up of my eczema. It started off on my eyelids for a few months, then with quarantine, it started spreading in my left cheeks, my forehead was extremely dry and cracked, then all over my face. I used to not be sensitive with my acne skincare products, but the more my eczema got worst, the more sensitive my skin would get. Even a splash of water would irritate my skin.
I stopped doing my regular skin care routine for a while, it was not doing me good with a compromised skin barrier (which is what eczema is). So this is what has been working for me, after trial and error, these two products together helped clear up my patches, and decrease my redness. Still a little flakey, but not as flakey as it was initially.
I start off by cleansing my skin with CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser itâs the only gentle cleanser i have. It still irritates my skin a little sadly, but i try to cleanse less, so usually PM only. And I would rinse my face with just water in the AM. Donât feel the need that i should spend on another cleanser, since itâs hopefully just temporary until my skin barrier gets stronger.
- then i would slather CeraVe - CeraVe Moisturising Cream all over my face on damped skin, avoiding my eye area. Its so thick and perfect for my extremely dry skin. Its so soothing and the ingredients are the best. Itâs very hydrating, but just not thick enough for my eczema prone skin. Which is why i follow up with a thin layer of Aquaphor - Aquaphor Healing Ointment prior to doing this, i would wake up with flakey dry skin in the morning, as if all the hydration has disappeared during my sleep. But this ointment helps lock in the cream and keeps my skin hydrated until the morning. Its great for everything tbh. I would also put this on my eyelids since i have redness there as well.
(Side note: iâve been using this for my cracked lips for years, itâs the absolute best for drugstore lip balm). But if you have those bad days where your lips gets extremely dry to the point that you donât know what to do anymore and your regular lip balm that youâve used for a lifetime does not work, i would recommend #La Roche-Posay - Cicaplast levres[products]#[FiveStars] you wake up the next day as if nothing has happened, you get completely healed lips. I swear by it!!! Itâs very thick, with a mat finish, itâs nothing like other lip balms ive used before. It also contains great ingredients such as panthenol which is great for repairing.
The less is better for eczema prone skin, and i hope these two holy grail products of mine works for you too. You really need patience, and so far i am loving the results. My patches has gone away and my redness is slowly calming down. I thought i would need a whole new routine but i will stick to this for now.

3 Beauty Hacks to Save Money at ULTA
When it comes to a one-stop shop for everything beauty, ULTA Beauty is the first venue that pops into my mind. The store has a mind-boggling range of brands for every budget. I just recently purchased two items from the store that I have found very suitable for me:
Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream for my body and Kloran rose SOS serum for my scalp.
The rich body cream gives relief to my dry and sensitive skin. I apply this cream liberally all over my body after a shower, especially in the evening. With a natural scent thatâs not overpowering or too feminine, the fragrance-free and paraben-free cream hydrates and allows my skin to stay supple until the next morning. It contains extra-strength emollients and humectants to bind water to your skin and prevent moisture loss. Priced at USD16 for a generous 16oz tub
Cetaphil - Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream
I am emptying a bottle of this Kloraneâs scalp serum. A non-greasy treatment with a moisturizing fluid texture that reinforces the scalp's natural protection, the lightweight serum soothes any scalp irritation immediately. It absorbs into cleansed scalp quickly and provides a soothing cooling effect thanks to the menthol ingredient. My scalp feels fresher and cleaner after use everytime. USD20 for 2.1oz
KLORANE - Soothing & Anti-Irritating SOS Serum with Peony

Have you Heard of Hemp Oil?
Hemp oil, or hemp seed oil, isnât a skincare ingredient thatâs had much time in the spotlight compared to vitamin C or retinol. But now itâs this star ingredientâs turn to shine. Letâs break it down!
Hemp oil is obtained from pressing the seeds of the cannabis plant. If it is unrefined it will have a dark green colour and a nutty smell. It will also have the most skincare benefits compared to refined hemp oil.
Benefits âïž
- Moisturizing
- Anti-inflammatory components to relieve skin inflammation, though more research needs to be done
- Full of antioxidants to protect your skin
- May have antibacterial properties to treat a wide array of skin conditions
I have very dry skin and need all the hydration I can get. I found these First Aid Beauty products about half a year ago, and they are a staple in my routine when I need a little extra help with redness and dryness. I love using these products in my routine more in the winter compared to the summer time. The fact that they had hemp oil in them intrigued me, and I wanted to see if it does what it says it will! The Ultra Repair Oat and Hemp Seed Dry Oil helps calm my dry and stressed skin without leaving it greasy, my skin absorbs it so nicely as it isnât super thick. At this point everyone should know I love facial oils. đ„°
The Oat and Hemp Multi-Fix Salve is also an amazing product as it saves my very dry hands in the winter time. It goes on a little greasy at first, but it absorbs and moisturizes with just a bit of time. These products have mild scent, and minimal to no artificial fragrance. They also have so many other hydrating ingredients in them, including colloidal oatmeal!

Updated AM Routine
My first post was about my AM routine, and since itâs been 6 months, I thought it would be a good time to post an updated AM routine! For reference, I have dry, sensitive, and acne-prone skin. So here are the products I currently use-
1. VANICREAM - Gentle Facial Cleanser I recently made the switch from CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser , and I am absolutely loving it! Itâs still gentle, but it provides an amazing deep clean! My skin is so soft and clean after using it. Itâs the perfect first step for my routine. I use one pump with my Innerneed silicone face scrubber. ($8.99 for 8oz at Target.)
2. HADALABO - Gokujyun Premium Lotion : This hyaluronic acid solution contains 5 different molecular weight of hyaluronic acid to penetrate deeply into the skin. It has a gel-like texture. I apply a small amount on damp skin. It leaves my skin feeling plump, hydrated, and glowing. ($15.89 for 5.75oz on Amazon.)
3. CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin : This is the moisturizer that I keep coming back to. I have yet to find one that I like better! Itâs very thick and moisturizing. It absorbs best when I apply it while my skin is still damp from the hyaluronic acid lotion. It provides a matte finish and keeps my skin soft & hydrated throughout the day! ($9.99 for 8oz at Target.)
4. Krave - The Beet Shield : This is my favorite sunscreen! Itâs unlike any sunscreen Iâve ever tried. Itâs so light, not sticky, and hydrates my skin! I can reapply it throughout the day without feeling like I have a ton of product on my face. This is my one âsplurgeâ product! ($20 for 1.69oz at Kravebeauty.com)
Total routine costs: $54.87
Stay tuned for my PM routine!

CeraVe Moisturizing Creamđ€©
Since I first started doing a skin routine, at least one of CeraVes skincare products has been apart of it. Whether it's the CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion, Hydrating Cleanser, Night Cream, or Foaming Cleanser, it never fails to make my skin hydrated and strong (skin barrier). I have learned from many trial and errors that there is nothing worse than getting caught up in using expensive products, that make your skin HORRIBLE! Using lemon scrubs, walnut scrubs, watermelon serum, pineapple serum, and even coconut and lime scented facial sprays is horrible. What I love about CeraVe is that it is affordable, hydrating, and is the bare minimum. What I mean by bare minimum is that it does everything your skin NEEDS not "wants"! More specifically, this moisturizing cream is a basic and plain, non scented cream that is one of the best things for you! Why you ask? Well, it's packed with hylaraunic acid, is fragrance free, no color added, dermatologist tested, and has CERAMIDES! If you don't know what ceramides are, basically they help protect the skin barrier and make is STRONG đȘ! The skin barrier is the make or break of acne! I call it that because if your skin barrier is dry, weak, and oily that is a sign that your skin barrier is NOT GOOD. By using this product, your skin will get the nutrients, ceramides, and hydration it needs while being gentle. I could get so much further into details but this would turn into a 10 page essay! I totally recommend this for ANY skin type and is great for weak skin barriers, hydrating, CLEAR skin, and day to day cream for face OR body. Enjoy! đ€©đ„CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin

Moisturize, but make it DRUGSTORE ?!
These are my top tried moisturizer from the drugstore for under $20
(LđđœR)
Aveeno - Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer SPF 30 this is one of my first moisturizer purchased for my day time routine. I actually liked this moisturizer itâs not to heavy and I love most of Aveeno products. With spf 30 itâs perfect for your daytime sun protection. Itâs oil-free, non-comedogenic (wonât clog pores), & total soy complex (even skin tone). The only reason I gave this a 4/5 is that itâs sits a little heavy on my skin now I think mostly due to Differins gel routine at night (& dimethicone) so I find myself using a little less than I like out of my moisturizer. Itâs $13.97 (mines is from Walmart)
CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin this has been one of my alternatives for my skin when I donât want any extra active ingredients. I usually use this after I do a chemical peel or use my Differins gels at night. Itâs very light and not to heavy on my skin. Itâs oil-free, non-comedogenic (wonât clog pores), fragrance free (for my sensitive skin people), & hypoallergenic. It also has ceramides (skin barrier protection), hyaluronic acid (moisture sucker), & their MVE technology (extra moisture through the day). I recommend this to anyone with sensitive skin. Just if you wear during the day donât forget your SPF 30. My small bottle was $7, full size is $12 (mines is from Walmart)
Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer okay when I bought this originally I loved it. Now the more I use it the more I find myself not liking the texture sometimes. The fragrance doesnât really bother me, but since I bought this mainly to wear at night I felt kinda weird about it after 2 weeks of use. Itâs oil-free, and alcohol free. Itâs also loaded with hyaluronic acid (moisture sucker). It has fragrance (for my fragrance sensitive people) and also comes in a dryer skin version (which I might try). I got this from Walmart for $16.97.
CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion I love this night time moisturizer. I mix this sometimes with my regular CeraVe moisturizer (mentioned above). Itâs non-comedogenic (wonât clog pores), hypoallergenic, oil-free, fragrance free, & lightweight. It also has niacinamide (skin improvement from blemishesđđœpores), hyaluronic acid (moisture sucker), ceramides (skin barrier protection), their MVE technology (releases moisture through the day). I was using this every night by itself before I started my Differins gel, but since I use The Ordinaryâs Nicinamide serum before, I just mix one pump with a equal amount of the CeraVe Moisturizer. I would recommend this to anyone though. I got this from Walmart for $13.
If I try high end moisturizers it has to have been sent to me via BoxyCharm or Ipsy or have been mentioned so many times my fingers are itching to try it.

CeraVe-Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin
Hyped Products: A Hit & A Miss-the higher the price, the better a product worksïŒ
You'd think the higher the price, the better a product works, right?
Not necessarilyïŒ
Today I am going to compare 2 hyped products.
FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration - $20 for 56.7g
CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin- $14.49 for 453g
FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration
I tried them in the hopes it would help with my very sensitive& dry skin. The cream is said to be a durgstore dupe for La mer and be super hydrating for dry and sensitive skin. However, I am very sad to say that this was not the product for me.
It's not easy to spread it out on my face and it tingles a little. It has whipped consistency and it created layer on my face that I felt as if my skin was suffocating, but didn't actually hydrate nor moisturize. I didn't see any difference on the whitehead on my chin. The effect is that I did find my face become a little smoother when I got up in the morning. But that's all. Not only was it not effective, I don't particularly enjoy the smell of it.
CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin
This cream is literally a skin saver! I got a sunburn while travelling in Canada, which caused redness, itchiness and dry flare- ups on my face. This thick cream worked wonders for me and healed my flare up. I LOVE it! The texture is not sticky and it absorbs easily and leaves the skin feeling soft and fresh. After using this for two nights, my skin is healing and isn't painful anymore. This stuff is effective and absolutely worth the hype. So it has become my favorite affordable drugstore moisturizer! HIGHLY recommend this for anyone with very dry and sensitive skin like me!
CeraVe-Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin
Rich Moisturizing Cream for Dry Skin!
Are you looking for an affordable & effective moisturizer for your dry skin? Then you should definitely consider this product!
What is it?
- CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin
- CeraVe Moisturizing Cream acts by effectively hydrating as it helps restore the skinâs protective barrier. Developed with dermatologists and ideal for dry and very dry skin on the face and body, this rich, non-greasy, fast-absorbing moisturizing cream features patented MVE Delivery Technology to release a steady stream of hyaluronic acid and three essential ceramides throughout the day and night.
- Suitable for sensitive skin, this oil-free and fragrance-free ceramide cream also helps the skin hold on to moisture while improving its look and feel.
- Available in wide variety of sizes (1.89oz-19oz), with prices ranging from $5.49-$18.49.
Whatâs in it?
- Ceramides: Essential for healthy skin, ceramides help restore and maintain the skinâs natural barrier.
- Hyaluronic acid: This ingredient attracts hydration to the skinâs surface and helps the skin retain moisture.
- Petrolatum: Often referred to as the âgold standardâ of occlusive ingredients because it creates a physical barrier that prevents moisture from leaving the skin.
- MVE Technology: This patented delivery system continually releases moisturizing ingredients for 24-hour hydration.
- Non-comedogenic, oil-free, hypoallergenic, fragrance-free and suitable for sensitive skin
My review-
- I have dry, sensitive, acne-prone skin. Iâm currently treating my acne with clindamycin (AM) and tretinoin (PM).
- I purchased this moisturizing cream in hopes that it would hydrate my dry skin and soothe irritation. It has done exactly that. It has a very rich, balmy texture. I prefer to use it at night for that reason, but if my skin needs it, Iâll use it during the day. (I typically use the FAB ultra repair cream as my daytime moisturizer).
- It makes my skin feel so soft and smooth. Due to the petrolatum, it does form a sort of protective barrier that locks in moisture. It does, however, make it feel a little heavy on the skin.
- I would definitely recommend this cream to those dealing with dry skin, whether thatâs from winter or treating with actives.

CeraVe-Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin
Must-have Moisturizer đ€©
I LOVE this moisturizer!! Iâve been using this for years and it is so amazing. It feels very lightweight and sheer so it doesnât give a heavy icky feeling on your face. It is also really refreshing and moisturizing after a nice hot shower.
I typically use this lotion after I shower or when my face needs that extra little boost. My routine with this is spraying my face with witch hazel toner (review coming up) and then applying the lotion on my face. I also put this on the rest of my body with some body oil from Bath & Body Works in about equal parts or a little less oil than the amount of lotion.
Overall, I 100% recommend this product!!! People with dry skin can combine it with other products or keep it simple, itâs really up to you!
