Vitamin C 🍊
Is one of the best anti-aging ingredients on the market and the key to having smooth and radiant skin. The best way to use it is topical (serums, creams). Benefits: 🍊 Helps fade hyperpigmentation. 🍊 Reduces the appearance of dark circles. 🍊 Protects against sun damage. 🍊 Diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It’s also safe to use in conjunction with other actives like alpha hydroxy acids (AHA), retinols and SPF. Vitamin C tends to oxidize, so it is important to use it on the indicated date, it becomes darkener or change color, you can continue using it but it no longer gives you the same benefits. The best derivative is L-ascorbic acid. I love it because it helps me to remove dark spots from my skin and at the same time protect it from new ones. It has also improved the fine lines I had. Review of my serums from subscription boxes
SPF Rx - Dual C + E + F Great daily serum, makes my skin glow! SUNDAY RILEY - C.E.O. Rapid Flash Brightening Serum Almost sunscreen-like texture and smell. Not super appealing but feels protecting! BYROE - Bell Pepper Serum Very hydating, but doesn’t seem like anything special. A bit hard to get it out of the applicator - and a little bit does not go a long way. 111SKIN - Cryo Atp Sports Booster Nice feeling, not sure how necessary of a product it is, especially since I rarely work out 😂 EARTH HARBOR - Luna Lei Phyto-Resurfacing Night Serum Feels a little tingly, which makes me think it’s doing something 😄 nice smell too. #The Dirty Lamb - Ultra Night Serum[products]#[FourStars] I add to my moisturizer for extra hydration, just 1 or 2 drops. A bit oily, didn’t enjoy on its own - made me break out. The applicator is also very drippy. #Delia Organics - Dew Drops Serum[products]#[ThreeStars] Again, kind of oily, especially for a day serum. I still use sometimes, though, mixed in with my day cream for a more refreshed look.

Too much money!
Just finished the SKINCEUTICALS - C E Ferulic With 15% L-Ascorbic Acid Vitamin C Serum and LOVED IT but it breaks the bank...wish I could afford $166 every few months for this. I think my plan is I’m going to try a couple other products and see if they are just as good or if I’m going to have to make the sacrifice in the end. So I’m going to try MAELOVE - Glow Makerand see how this Vitamin C works and it only cost $27.95! I heard about this one from@Dr.Tomassianand I am very excited to try this one! I’ll let you guys know if I can see a difference when the bottle is done.

My skincare routine for glowing skin ✨
Skin type: combinations, acne-prone. Skin concern: dull skin. Following a beauty routine has its benefits, keeping the skin clean and hydrated makes the skin always look healthy. To minimize the appearance of pores, prevent wrinkles and decrease fine lines I use VIVIER - Retinol 1% Night Complex its main ingredients are 1% pure retinol, vitamin C, vitamin E and shea butter. It’s well known that retinol promotes cell renewal and increases collagen production, making the skin appear firmer and healthier. To keep dark spots out, I use VIVIER - Serum 10 , it contains 100% pure L-ascorbic acid, one of the best formulations on the market due to its stability. Helps reduce signs of environmental damage (fine lines, wrinkles, uneven skin texture and tone). It’s an excellent ingredient to add to your beauty routine. I try to exfoliate my face 1-2 times a week with ACURE - Brightening Facial Scrub its main ingredients are sea kelp and french green clay, after using it my my face feels clean and fresh OR HUDA BEAUTY - Yo Glow Facial Enzyme Scrub a gentle exfoliating scrub, its main ingredients are papaya and pineapple enzymes, BHAs and AHAs. It’s really a gentle exfoliant, it doesn't irritate and leaves my skin clean, smooth and full of glow. Added an ideal toner to brighten dull skin tone like GEORGETTE KLINGER - Vitamin C Toner , helps control excess oil, purifies deep inside pores, calms redness and fades dark spots. Its main ingredients are kakadu plum (source of vitamin C), aloe, witch hazel, watercress and elderflower. I have been using this toner for 20 days and I love the results, eliminate redness and reduce dark spots, my skin looks cleaner, brighter and healthier. In the morning, I applied GLOW RECIPE - Banana Soufflé Moisture Cream , a lightweight moisturizer that hydrates and calms the skin. It’s ideal for combination skin, leaves my skin feeling hydrated and glowy without leaving it greasy and smells delicious. Masks are an excellent treatment to help with your skincare concerns. I have millions of masks, I use one that I feel is best for me at the moment. ▪️If my skin needs hydration - SUMMER FRIDAYS - R + R Mask ▪️If I need something stronger - The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution ▪️If my skin feels dry or dull - SUMMER FRIDAYS - Jet Lag Mask ▪️If I need to control excess oil -NEOGENLAB - Neogen Dermalogy Canadian Clay Pore Cleanser Sunscreen is the most important part of any beauty routine, since it prevents damage caused by UVB / UVA rays. One of my favorites is Supergoop! - Glowscreen Sunscreen SPF 40 , it leaves a subtle glow that makes you not look tired, in addition to leaving the skin very soft and hydrated. Gentle reminder: don't forget to drink water, staying hydrated is very important for healthy looking skin, sleeping well is also important as it helps the normal renewal and exfoliation of the skin.
Do’s and don’ts: large pores
Skin type: combination. Skin concerns: large pores. The pores correspond to the opening of the hair follicles on the surface of the skin. The hair follicle resembles a canal, which contains facial hair and is connected to the sebaceous glands (sebum producers). It is common to see large pores on acne and/or oily skin. Pore size is closely related to genetic 🧬, hormonal, and environmental factors. Over the years, the pores increase in diameter due to the loss of firmness of the skin. The products that I have used to improve the appearance of the pores are retinol (at night) and vitamin C (in the morning and at night after retinol) I also try to exfoliate my skin 1-2 times a week and use masks that help clean the pores or hydrate the skin once a week, in addition to using sunscreen (I apply it every 4 hours). Do’s: 👍🏻 Wash your face twice a day with water and soap 🧼 (depending on your skin type). 👍🏻 Exfoliate and use astringent masks 1-2 times a week. 👍🏻 Creams with vitamin A derivatives (retinoids) decrease sebum production, accelerate cell turnover and tighten the skin. 👍🏻 Use “non-comedogenic” products 🧴. 👍🏻 Vitamin C 🍊aids collagen and elastin production and brightens the appearance of skin. Don’ts: 👎🏻 Washing your face too often causes you to produce more oil, enlarged pores and more breakouts may appear. 👎🏻 Don’t expose yourself much to the sun ☀️, sun damage makes your pores appear larger and contributes to the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. 👎🏻 Air pollution and smoke 🚬 accelerate the aging process of the skin 👵🏻. 👎🏻 Exfoliating more than you should weekly can lead to increased sebum production and make your pores appear larger.
Truth serum is one of those cult products everyone raves about so I had to try it. After going through the travel size, I went out and bought the full size. Clearly I enjoyed it enough to repurchase. It’s a watery gel-like formula with a slight citrusy scent. This lightweight vitamin c serum also comes with great packaging that keeps it from oxidizing and helps retain its potency. It’s meant to help fade dark spots, plump skin, brighten, add hydration, and leave you with glowing skin. The truth serum is a nice product but it hasn’t helped much with dark spots. That being said, it does plump and brighten my skin and makes it GLOW. Initially, I used this alongside caudalie’s vinoperfect serum and saw an improvement on dark spots, but it doesn’t do anything for me on its own. I still enjoy this product for its other benefits but I think I’ll give another vitamin c product a try. I’d say it worth checking out even with the price because a little goes a long way. P.s. just checked the price and I’m pretty sure it’s gone up since I bought mine 🤔 #OLEHENRIKSEN - Truth Serum[goods]#[FourStars]
Retinoids just don’t mix well with others!
Vitamin C & Retinol: this is the biggest no no! Retinol doesn’t mix well with a lot of ingredients and it should stay far away from Vitamin C serums. Vitamin C helps to boost collagen, help the premature signs of aging, and keeps the skin bright and helps even the texture. Retinoids help with reducing fine lines and wrinkles by increasing the production of collagen. Using them together could create irritation, peeling and redness. Combining them increases the skin’s sensitivity to the sun, which means there is a higher risk for burning and UV damage. Note- as pictured since I don’t own a retinol. I believe this serum from Herbivore may mix with other serums better.
Drunk Elephant Mini Duo
🥶 It is so cold all of a sudden. It was in the 80s yesterday morning and then it started raining in the evening and now it is 38 degrees. #WelcometoTexas! 🥶 Anyways, I got this adorable @drunkelephant mini duo set from @Sephora when they had a promo code for it. 🐘 It has a mini B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum 5ml (which I emptied during my weekend trip). I have used this before and didn’t think much of it other than that it is nice serum. But, this time, I really loved using it. It does smell a little plastic-y but it really hydrated my skin during the cold front in the woods. This and the VT cica cream that I took 🙌🏻 It is formulated with pro-vitamin B5 and pineapple ceramics. It is supposed to make your skin hydrated and look as if your skin drank a cup of cool water. I made sure to stay really hydrated during the trip (4~5 water bottles/day) and with this B5 serum at hand, my skin was not dry AT ALL. It also wasn’t oily! I def will recommend this to all skin types! After I finish all of the other serums, I might purchase the full size. Probs not its too expensive lol I’ll purchase the duo set. 🐘 It also came with the mini A-Passioni Retinol Cream 5ml. This is my first retinol product and I was kind of hesitant to try it. Retinol is a very well known ingredient for anti-aging and this cream blains to nourish, dramatically diminish the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and also brighten the dark spots on the skin due to sun damage. Retinol is an ingredient that speeds up the turnover rate of the skin cells. It definitely is a product that you have to use continuously to see results. I have been mixing this product with my night cream since I was afraid it might be too strong to directly put onto the skin. I have been loving how it just mixes well with my cream and I don’t know, maybe its placebo but I do notice my skin being more plump and my dark spots are fading. I use a vitamin c serum in the morning and use this retinol at night. It is not recommended to use them together since they work at different pH levels. But since I use vit c in the morning and retinol at night, it should be ok right? 🤔 Anyways, I think this is a great product for when you are just starting out with retinol. It contains 1% retinol and it does not sting my face at all. I really will try purchase the duo set that come with 10 ml or maybe I might even purchase the full size. Have you tried these two products? What are your thoughts on this brand? All time favorite vitamin c serum!
The olehenriksen truth serum is marketed to all skin types and is formulated with vitamin c and collagen. It targets hyperpigmentation by using vitamin c to brighten skin. It has a sticky liquidy texture and smells like oranges. When applied, it feels slightly sticky but dries down completely normal. Overall, I really enjoy this product and it’s the best vitamin c serum I’ve ever used. After using this for over a year, I have noticed definite fading of my hyperpigmentation and brightening of my skin. I bought it after reading during the Sephora sale last year and I have repurchased it multiple times. I have recommended this product to my whole family, and highly recommend it to anyone else. It is definitely worth the price because it is extremely effective and has amazing results over time. #OLEHENRIKSEN - Truth Serum[goods]#[FiveStars]
Summer Fridays CC me serum
This is a vitamin C serum for all skin type. It targets uneven texture, dark spots and fine lines while brightening and hydrating your skin. The texture is a little bit thicker than a serum and non sticky. When I bought I used it right away everyday and my skin didn’t like it at all. I thought that something in the ingredients made me break out (some dry patches) but it was also the first time I was incorporating vitamin c to my routine so I thought “let the break out clear and try again”, which I did. After the break out cleared I re-incorporated the CC me Serum but this time every other day and it was perfect , now I have been using it everyday (every morning) for a month. I’ve seen my skin texture improve and brighten , I didn’t really have dark spot so I can’t speak for that. But it really did work well for me. And the fact that the vitamin c is mix with squalane makes it great for my dry skin. I really enjoy using it and glad I splurge -> because I found the product a little pricey ($64 for 1oz) but it was worth it in my opinion. I’ll most likely repurchase and recommend it also still making 4 stars instead of 5 because of the price. Hope it’ll be helpful for you guys

The inkey list retinol serum
THE inkey LIST - Retinol Anti-Aging Serum The Inkey Lists Retinol Serum sells for 10$ and includes 30ml. It targets fine lines and wrinkles, dark spots, dullness and uneven texture. Retinol is known to be a preventative anti aging ingredient and this is the first ever retinol product I’ve tried. The product is yellow first of all, but kind of runny and liquid which is why I don’t think it’s the optimal packaging for this product. The texture itself sinks into the skin quickly, doesn’t leave a residue and is easy to spread. I’ve been using it for about 4 months now and even though I just turned 20 I don’t think it can be too early to use a gentle retinol product. Retinols should only be used in the PM and you should always follow with a SPF in the morning! I started off by using it 2 times a week, now I can use it 3-4 times a week. It takes a couple of weeks to see results since it’s mostly a preventative product but I do see some fine lines on my forehead get smaller when I use this product. It’s actually quite hydrating and not irritating at all, which I really like. It’s also a great affordable product, which is why I would definitely recommend this especially if you are just starting with retinols. I did not find it helping with my skin texture, but it’s gentle, a great anti aging preventative and helps hydrate and fine lines and wrinkles!
