These are the drugstore makeup picks I ACTUALLY use!
Donāt get me wrong, I love a good Tarte Shapetape Concealer. Even the latest launches from Rare Beauty have me swooning. But drugstore makeup holds a special place in my heart.
Walking through the aisles of Target or CVS gets me giddy. Quite honestly, I count those trips as my therapy sessions. Plus, these are the places were I started getting essentials to experiment with when I was younger!
My favorite brands to score from are no doubt Pixi, NYX, Essence Cosmetics, Sonia Kashuk, Maybelline and Covergirl. Theyāre just my go-toās! Theyāre the brands constantly putting out dupes for cult favorites.

Iāve been going through Maybelline Lifter Glosses like theyāre going out of style. I actually was responsible for my local Target running out of stock once...oops.
Another new essential thatās crawled its way into my everyday routine is the Covergirl Cooling Glow Stick. Itās part of their new Clean Fresh line and I use it on my WHOLE face. Top tip: try it under your eyes over your concealer š

FACE MAKEUP - JUST CREAM PRODUCTS
hi friends! i thought itād be fun to show you guys how i usually apply my face makeup. i tend to order things by doing it all in cream first (i.e. foundation and concealer, then blush, highlight, bronzer), then redefining it all by going in with powder. today though, i used only cream/stick products and finished with a translucent powder.
for this look, i start with the e.l.f. - Hydrating Camo Concealer in a lighter and darker shade to give cream contouring a try, as i normally use a powder contour/bronzer and save this step for the end. i place the darker shade slightly higher than my normal cheekbones then blend the darker shade before the lighter one to help warm up my entire complexion a little better (as i am severely pale).
i then follow this with a cream blush and highlighter. i place both products slightly higher on the face than normal to try to bring more balance to the face as well as emphasize my cheekbones a little better. i use the Milk MAKEUP - Lip + Cheek in āwerkā and COVERGIRL - Clean Fresh Cooling Glow Highlighter Stick in āso giltyā. i do all of these steps with a damp sponge but i would advise trying to use different parts of the sponge or two different sponges entirely if you fear accidentally making it look muddy.
with this particular look, i end up simply setting my whole face with a translucent powder, as i want the eyes and lips to be the main focus. if you are seeking a more defined and chiseled look, i would definitely recommending following up with powder highlighter, blush, or contour.

My favorite lip gloss
Iāve never been a huge fan of lip gloss. I donāt enjoy the sticky feeling or heavy fragrance that is usually associated with them. And then I tried MAYBELLINE - Lifter Gloss With Hyaluronic Acid and fell in love! I actually have two other shades but they live in my car. This gloss is not sticky or heavy and it looks so nice on. I love the slight tingling sensation it causes as well. If you havenāt given this a try yet, what are you waiting for?!

My husband wonāt kiss me anymore
He has an aversion to the texture and taste of lip gloss and lipstick. Not only that but he watched me walk up to a ātrendingā display of a major brand instead of the yellow tag clearance and pick out a fancifully packaged gloss. To his credit, he helped me choose a shade (Silk). But he really doesnāt know who I am anymore and so has thus been suspicious of me when I wear this. Nevertheless...
This was trending months ago but like many people I have been a little flabbergasted by this yearās unwavering and speedy trajectory into the spiral vortex of suck. So I had to wait til the Hype Train made its second round to hop on.
A few things: if you are the type who wants your lips to look like youāve had work done or youāre cosplaying as Fungus from Monsters, Inc. you may not be satisfied with the plumping effect of this stuff. Honestly the most natural route is to just cut open a jalapeƱo and smear that on your lips. Then your husband really wonāt kiss you.
Frankly, I donāt like scrubbing or irritating my lips into perkiness the same way I donāt want coffee overdosing to make me a more cheerful person before 10am. This stuff is called lifter and it lifts. My lips are more plump than before and thereās no stinging to get them there.
Additionally there is a mild but pleasant cinnamon flavor, not like a cinnamon gum harshness but a gentle apple pie type of cinnamon. Itās actually very pleasant.
Speaking of coffee, that stuff makes my lips drier than a mummyās armpit before I can finish a single cup, and trust me ā I teach how to use commas to twelve-year-olds, so when I say this product actually kept my lips hydrated through my morning video lessons, itās a miracle.
Overall, for $7 this stuff is awesome and Iām definitely buying more once my other glosses are done for. I may never be kissed again but man are my lips soft.

Amazing eyeliner by Tarte !!!!

Having tried quite a bit of eyeliners in the past, this eyeliner by Tarte is easy to handle, and glides easily, depositing a deep dark black color without having to retrace it. Since it also has a liquid side and a pencil side, the pencil allows to fill in smaller gaps that one couldāve missed while doing their eyeliner routine. Overall, I would give this product a solid 4 stars and not five simply because the liquid felt brush area is a little too thick for my liking. But even then, having worn this eyeliner for a full dayās party, or other special occasions, even if you sweat or if you accidentally rub your eye a bit, it does not run at all and stays practically intact. Would recommend this product for sure, it is one of my favorite eyeliners.

The liquid highlighter in shade Misty is beautiful for cool and light skin tones (it comes in 3 colours), the formula is gorgeous, the finish is velvety, but not sticky. I would say this is similar to ctilbury Flawless Filter. I love to mix mine with foundation, moisturiser or CC/BB when I want some extra glow (or did not sleep enough). Can be used in either of these combinations, under or on top of foundation (i.e cheek bones, nose bridge, etc).
The Eye Pencil in shade Treasured is waterproof and dries to a smudge proof finish. I think this colour really complements my brown eyes. True story: after taking this pic (obv wearing a white shirt), I quickly wanted to wipe it off. Guess what? No chance šŖš» I had to wash it with water and soap. So very impressed.

i started with the NYX - Hi Definition Photo Concealer Wand this stuff is great as long as you set it!
then, i moved on to the NYX - Bare With Me Tinted Skin Veil which is so good as a light foundation!
e.l.f. - 50 Color Eye & Face Palette i used the contour out of this palette and a light gray to blend into the colors i already had on my eye....
URBAN DECAY - URBAN DECAY Single Eyeshadow this is my favorite eyeshadow of all time. even when i was bad at makeup, this looked good.
Too Faced - Tutti Frutti Fruit Cocktail Blush Duo i broke this unfortunately and had to blend the colors together. itās still a shimmery flush that i donāt even have to use highlighter with ā¤ļø

How I create a natural, even lip line!
I love a nude lip! And itās even better when I can use just a small amount of product and make them look nice and full! I start by marking sure my lips are smooth. A few nights a week, I gently take a wash cloth and rub it over my lips in circular motions. Then I make sure to apply some lip balm before I go to sleep. I like the the fresh - Sugar Advanced Therapy Lip Treatment but itās super expensive. I also love the LANEIGE - LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask , itās cheaper and I think you get more product! When Iām finished with my makeup the next day, Iāll highlight my Cupidās bow. I use the laura mercier - Translucent Loose Setting Powder I enjoy this setting powder, but I only use it as a highlight. Itās WAY too sparkly and glowy to use all over the face as a setting powder. Then Iāll use the MAKE UP FOR EVER - Artist Color Pencil: Eye, Lip & Brow Pencil in Wherever Walnut to draw my lip line. Iāll draw it just a small distance outside my natural lip line and fill in the outer 25% of my lips as well. This pencil is a nice browny nude for my light skin tone. Next, I will as just a touch of lipstick. I wonāt swipe this on, Iāll lightly dab it on my lips so we still see the effects of the lip liner. I use the MARC JACOBS BEAUTY - Le Marc Lip CrĆØme Lipstick in Slow Burn which is also a browny nude. Finally, Iāll top it off with a bit of lip gloss just in the center of the lip. Iāve been really enjoying the FLOSS GLOSS - Floss beauty my new favorite lip gloss itās clear, goes with any lip color, and smells and tastes like sweet vanilla! #cheriepartner

I love a good natural, dewy, almost sweaty sheen on the skin and I feel you wouldnāt expect a powder highlight to give you that dewy effect but trust me, the essence - Pure Nude Highlighter is such a gorgeous highlighter! Itās not an intense highlighter that youāll catch from across a room, itās definitely more subtle but still beautiful.
You can make it more intense by applying it with your fingers but I like to use a fluffy highlighter brush and let it melt into my skin.
Itās definitely one of my favorite highlighters not just from the drugstore but of all time š
