best & blah hair products @ Sephora 🌟
BEST & BLAH 👉🏻 Sephora Edition 😌🙌🏼 We all know the holy grail products we can find at Sephora. For me, I flock to the shelves for Ouai, a haircare line quite popular in the IG community 💡Before trying out their line, I was always skeptical of the value in their products. Come on, is this really worth it? I was an avid fan of it's a 10 haircare - Leave-In Conditioner Spray Product , my holy grail for my wavy, thick hair (which, is extremely damaged!) I could always count on that single product after washing my hair to smooth my hair and aid in softening my ends. Eventually, I had to try out Ouai haircare. After bleaching my hair to its absolute end, I knew I needed to find quality products when it came to styling my hair. My hair had always been picky with the products it uses, especially when it came to styling products. Sticky, thick and too drying formulas turn me off. So, when needing to find my “best and blah,” I knew I had to put Ouai in the hot seat. 1. OUAI - OUAI Wave Spray This one left my hair tacky, even with a minimal amount of product sprayed on. My waves weren’t much defined as they would be without this product. This one is $12 (small bottle) at Sephora. Worth it? No, not in my opinion. A better alternative is NOT YOUR MOTHER'S - Beach Babe Soft Waves Spray . 2. OUAI - OUAI Volume Spray Hmmm.. perhaps my hair is thick enough to have volume already. Nevertheless, I was not a huge fan of this volume spray. I used it before blowing my hair out and all it did for me was add more product onto my hair, no volume. Worth it? No 😭 I tried my best to like this product but I can’t bring myself to pay $26. 3. OUAI - Dry Shampoo Foam A NEW DRY SHAMPOO FAVORITE! I love this formula (mousse-like) and the smell. It leaves a refreshing and cooling feeling on my scalp. Worth it? YES. I’ll definitely be buying this again, worth the $28! 4. gisou - Honey Infused Hair Oil This is a great hair oil, don’t get me wrong. I enjoyed the packaging, the consistency and the result of my hair after smoothing this into it; HOWEVER, $46 doesn’t sit right with me for a hair oil so is it worth it? Not for me. 5. eva·nyc - Mane Magic 10-in-1 Primer I enjoyed the smell and lightweight spray of the nozzle, offering a lighter application of the product. But, too much and your hair gets STICKY. Beware of the amount you use. If used right, it’s worth your time. Worth it? $12 for a great heat protectant is worth it to me! 6. gisou - Propolis Infused Polishing Primer Ehhhh, I couldn’t find the value in this for me. I heard a lot of people talk about their hair feeling smoother after styling once using this; however, I personally couldn’t notice a difference. I loved the creamy texture but I can’t purchase it again. Worth it? $34 isn’t worth it for me 😭
Drying and styling hair is a big project…
Hair texture： Thin and soft，hard to be styled！ 😭 Drying and styling hair is a big project every morning after shampoo, especially for girls with long hair. One easy tactic that I found was to use wave spray before blow drying every inch of my hair, where drying and styling can both get done in a single procedure and saves so much time in a hustling morning. Wave sprays are easy to use. I simply apply the sprays throughout my hair, mainly in the hair roots, after shower, and blow my hair to dry. For my semi-curly hair, just a simple step of spraying can guarantee the wavy style and volumize my thin hair with hairdryer, and the natural and fluffy hairstyle could last for the entire day. I have been using OUAI wave spray in the last 2 years and like it a lot until I have got my new spray a few months ago. OUAI is an American hair product brand specialized in hair styling and nutrition. And my new spray is from Shiseido, a popular middle-high end skin and hair care brand from Japan. They both are in the same price range – for around $20 per bottle. To be fair, they both work very well in creating fluffy appearance of the hair, but after using the new product for months, I realized that there are obvious differences. In comparison, I found Shiseido works better for my hair type and lasts for longer. It is very apparent that the compositions of the sprays are different – OUAI wave spray is a liquid spray while Shiseido spray is made of powder. The powders made Shiseido spray so much easier to spread through the hair and is non-sticky. And because the powder is designed to resist the moist, the hair can stay fluffy and natural even in the evening, while OUAI spray only last for 5-6 hours in the summer until the fluffy hair falls back down. In conclusion, the powder spray is more suitable for the summer and especially for people who works long hours and still need their hair to look nice and fluffy in the evening, while OUAI wave spray is just enough to meet your basic need in styling. Sea Mist Sea Mist is a texturizing salt mist by herbivorebotanicals . It comes in scents Coconut + Sea Salt (pictured) as well as Lavender + Sea Salt🌊 📌Key ingredients include... • Aloe Vera, for its lightweight & non-drying properties • Pacific Sea Salt, to give the product the same salt content as real Sea Water! 📌Although this product is formulated for the hair, Herbivore suggests it’s also safe to spritz on the face & body! 💭 MY THOUGHTS: • This smells like a beachy, salty coconut. Delicious. I find the smell definitely lingers in your hair which is lovely! • This product definitely does what it claims - enhances waviness and texture. My hair is flat AF. Like, shit hangs there like dead seaweed. If I don’t touch it, it dries pin straight. After using this, then putting my hair in a damp bun, I was greeted the next morning by some lovely waves!!!! So exciting (my straight haired gals can relate) • I do find that I have to be careful to only apply this to the lower half of my head or it will leave my hair looking greasy. My hair gets very oily very quick as it is, and I found that this spray definitely sped that process up even more. However my ends are a bit dry, so if i’m sure to spray very low this is no issue! I apply to damp hair, and then a few spritzes after taking my bun out just to fluff up the texture. • Overall, I would say it’s worth a shot if you’re like me and your hair won’t hold any texture/shape at all! 📌 This product comes in 2 sizes: • 240mL (pictured)- $20USD / $25CAD off sephora / sephoracanada *online only • 60mL (ONLY AVAILABLE ON HERBIVORE WEBSITE) $12USD
My #1 favorite product of ALL👏🏼TIME👏🏼
I haven’t raved on this product enough recently, so here I am!! Ladies, this product transformed my somewhat wavy, frizzy hair. About the product: Made with rice instead of sea salt like most wave sprays Strong smell (I like it, but I’ve seen a lot of people complain about it) Never leaves your hair feeling sticky, frizzy or crunchy Perfectly enhances natural waves (you really can’t apply too much of this product) Gives me amazing volume and movement How I use it: I apply this all over my hair as soon as I get out of the shower SCRUNCH Plop my hair for 10-20 minutes Let it air dry Don’t touch your hair as it dries! This product is so light on hair and I just love it so much! Will 100% be using this product forever.
OUAI-OUAI Wave Spray
I have said it and I will say it again. I love Kevin Murphy. Everything that comes the coolest company down under is freakin gold... or it’s been reformulated... Killer curls is great for thick, coarse hair. Curly ringlets or soft waves and everything in between can be tamed and smoothed with this creamy paste. The consistency is very heavy so a little goes a long way, and a bottle tends to last me about 6 months. Finer hair will probably be weighed down too much with this, unless frizz is your main issue, then it would still be worth a try. To use, I apply to damp hair from mid section to ends. For long hair use a quarter size, for shorter hair it’s good to stay with a little pea size. You can always add more, but l would air on the side of caution because this stuff is heavy. After working product through with your fingers, I like to twist the front and top sections of my hair that seem to get the frizziest. If your curl pattern is small, you want your twists to mimic your natural curl, so take small 1/2 inch sections and twist from root to end. If you have more of a loose wave, take 1.5 inch sections and twist from roots to ends. Don’t touch it while it dries! If you like to run your fingers through your hair, I would get in the habit of re-twisting your sections so you aren’t pulling out your curl. You can also scrunch as it dries, but no combing! When the hair is dry I like to use a bit of oil, pure argon oil for coarser hair, or Oi oil by Davines for finer. When you apply your oil, do a scrunch with it and you can pull out any sections that are looking unnatural. This should reveal super dreamy perfectly formed killer curls! The cool girl party hairstyle!
Hi!! Today I’m sharing my go-to cool girl party hairstyle!! I’m a huge fan of braids and these two Dutch braids are my perfect look for any late-night gathering! I love it because it’s relatively easy to do, and stays intact for a night of dancing or jumping around! My hair type: slightly dry, colored black hair. Thick, needs lots of product to look sleek and reduce frizz! Steps: 1. Brush hair, use some sort of volumizing product IF your hair is getting greasy or weighed down. This style definitely looks best on hair that has some texture or wave to it, so feel free to use a quick curling iron if necessary! 2. Part hair in the middle, and start a small Dutch braid on one side of the part. 3. Continue to gather small pieces of hair into the 3 strands, and once you reach the back of the crown, tie off with a small hairtie. 4. Repeat on the other side! 5. Use a hair balm/gel to smooth down any flyaways at the top of your braids, or leave them messy for a more lived-in look. 6. Use a wave spray or texture spray to add more definition to your hair and create a more undone look! No need to be sleek and polished for a party! Products used: OUAI - OUAI Wave Spray I use this product to add gentle texture to my hair at the very end! A few sprays on either side of my head is more than enough to do the trick IGK - Mistress Hydrating Hair Balm I love this balm for taming flyaways, like I show here, or running it through damp hair for extra hydration. #cheriecreator #cheriepartner

Summer Hair with just two products👌🏻
Summer is here and these are two of my Favorite summer products . #CherieCreator IGK - Mistress Hydrating Hair Balm is an amazing hydrating balm that doesn’t leave your hair feeling heavy or greasy: you can air dry or heat style with it: I love it both ways and my frizzy , dry hair loves this stuff! IGK - Beach Club Volume Texture Spray This beach texture spray smells amazing and give tons of texture to already styled hair. It’s great on wet hair as well for a more wet textured finish. Although I love the way this smells for my hair it’s a little strong. I like pliable texture spray and if you put too much of this it can make your hair a hit sticky and stiff. Any products you guys want me to share tips on? I’d love to hear from you

Wavy Hairspray: Yes to Movement, No to Crunch
Styling wavy hair can be tricky. My wavy hair is thick in volume yet fine in texture, going down to my mid-back, and it loves to frizz. To control this, hairspray is my best friend. But, not all hairspray was made equally- I’ve ended up with a veritable helmet of hair more than once. I love movement to keep my hair from looking flat, so I was an instant convert when I tried the amika: - Fluxus Touchable Hairspray 💕 • Crunch? I spend money + time to keep my hair soft, so why would I dry it out with hairspray? Fluxus manages to avoid being overly drying, taming fly-always without coating hair in a stiff mess. • Movement? Speaking of stiffness, that’s what you’ll be avoiding with Fluxus. My hair still moves in the breeze, easily combed through with my fingers. No helmet 🙌🏽 How I Style: I’m a minimalist, but I don’t like being a puffball. So when I’m not wearing my hair in a ponytail and ballcap, I typically stick to the tried-and-true! Wash and condition (or amika: - Perk Up Talc-Free Dry Shampoo and amika: - Silken Up Dry Conditioner ) followed by a wide-tooth comb detangling session. Briogeo - B. Well Organic + Cold-Pressed 100% Castor Oil applied to tips. Then, once everything has dried, I spray a liberal amount of Fluxus in my palm and smooth my hands over my hair. I repeat a couple times, focusing on my fly-aways and baby hairs, until everything is smoothed and settled. Fancy? No. Easy and effective? Yup!
