Cherie made me buy it! (part ii)

I am so easily convinced by so many things that I’m probably the last person who should buy products off of reviews... HOWEVER, THAT WONT STOP ME FROM SPENDING 😜🙌🏼✨ Here’s 2 products that thanks to Cherie have now earned two spots on my shelf 👇🏼 🍑 My skin type: Combination
ohii - Before + After Vitamin C Mask
this mask is claimed to be a “5 minute facial,” perfect for starting your day. Right off the bat, the consistency of the product was a little more lightweight than I had expected and the fresh scent had me reaching for it every morning. It brought such a nice glow to my skin that I wish I could’ve bought more than one! It’s currently $24 at Urban Outfitters and to me, thats pretty pricey, but I’d splurge again just to be able to experience the refreshing feel my skin felt for the first time.
KORRES - Pomegranate Pore Blurring Gel Moisturizer
this somewhat “thick” moisturizer smelled so good and blended like butter into my skin. It definitely helped with dryness I get in the colder evenings when my room is pretty dry. It retains moisture well as my skin feels hydrated the next day. It includes pomegranate extract to reduce the appearance of pores and BHAs, meant to exfoliate dead skin cells! This pot is currently $36 at Sephora. Quite a splurge, I agree, but the results of this have left my skin softer and plumper than before!

🚫 DO NOT MIX 🚫
Retinol, vitamin C, chemical exfoliants. All amazing products that deliver great results! So you might be asking “what if I mix this with that and get the smooth, radiant skin I long for?” But let me tell ya, mixing these potent ingredients is a recipe for disaster! They play great with others (i.e. vitamin C and vitamin E or retinol and hyaluronic acid), but shouldn’t be used together for a couple of reasons. Vitamin C products have a very specific pH which allows them to work best, using a vitamin C based product with acidic ingredients like glycolic acid can alter its pH which can reduce the effectiveness of your products. Now mixing retinol and vitamin C or glycolic acid is just a big NO for me. These combo can lead to irritation, sensitivity, dryness and even flakiness. These three are amazing on their own or with complimentary products like I mentioned before ✨

Why vitamin C is my main bish 🍊
Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that can neutralize free radicals, it helps regenerate skin cells and it’s a staple in every skincare routine. I was actually introduced to this magic ingredient by my husband! Who got into skincare before I did lol, after I started doing my own research I realized I needed all the vitamin C products. It’s safe for most skin types and plays well with other actives like AHA’s. My favorite vitamin C products include: The VERSED - STROKE OF BRILLIANCE Brightening Serum that I’ve talked about before, I love it because not only is it effective but it’s also easily accessible as it is sold in Target! The bliss - Bright Idea Vitamin C + Tri-Peptide Collagen Protecting & Brightening Moisturizer another lovely product that is easily accessible and affordable for what it is. This beautiful moisturizer feels super creamy but absorbs well and has a faint citric scent. It plumps my skin so nicely when I use it in conjunction with my hyaluronic acid essence. The SUNDAY RILEY - C.E.O. Glow Vitamin C + Turmeric Face Oil I love this oil. I just love facial oils so much. This one is a favorite but kinda pricey, but that’s the only downside imo. The ohii - Before + After Vitamin C Mask is AMAZING. It works so quick and brightens my skin almost immediately. It has a honey-like texture and warms up once it’s on, it’s my uncomfortable at all it just feels lovely. Highly recommend. I can’t recommend vitamin C enough, it helps fade any hyperpigmentation I might be experiencing, it’s brightening, it evens out my skin tone. It’s just amazing and you need to get on it!

Achieve Fresh, Supple, and Hydrated Skin in 2 Weeks
Achieve Fresh, Supple, and Hydrated Skin in 2 Weeks
If you want to step up your skincare game, all you’ll be needing to add to your skincare routine are 3 essential products: a toner, a mist, and a mask.   As I lay on my bed scrolling through Instagram 3 weeks ago, I stumbled upon a post from a skincare brand called Fresh. It’s well-known for numerous skincare products, however, I have never really tried any of their products. Since self-care has been a top priority for me since quarantine started, I thought of buying 3 products that are not part of my existing skincare routine.   I purchased the following products from Fresh: 1.  Kombucha Antioxidant Facial Treatment Essence 2. Vitamin Nectar Antioxidant Face Mist 3. Rose Deep Hydration Sleeping Mask   These products changed the game for me as I was able to see amazing changes to my skin in just 2 weeks!   The toner, Kombucha Antioxidant Facial Treatment Essence, is one of Fresh’s best-selling products. I apply it after I rinse my face with facial wash. What amazed me about this product is that it protects skin from digital light as it increases smoothness, luminosity, and suppleness. If you want to know its consistency, it’s a liquid treatment that also gives protection from indoor and outdoor pollution. It also lessened the look of pores and fine lines around the areas of my eyes. It highly hydrates and preps my skin on a daily, and it doesn’t give any interference when I apply on makeup. fresh - Kombucha Antioxidant Facial Treatment Essence   After I apply on the toner, I would apply my serum and moisturizer then spritz on the Vitamin Nectar Antioxidant Face Mist all over my face and neck. I use this ultrafine cooling citrus-scented mist as a primer, makeup-setting spray, and a hydrating skin refresher! It is enriched with a fruit complex of vitamins C, E, and B5, lemon and orange extracts, and minerals in which all protects against free radicals for a natural dewy glow. fresh - Vitamin Nectar Antioxidant Face Mist   I use the Rose Deep Hydration Sleeping Mask for days when my skin needs a little bit more of TLC! It’s perfect because it addresses my dehydrated skin-tuation as it delivers intense hydration overnight for supple, dewy glowy skin. I love how it drenches my skin with moisture when I use it! I use it after I cleanse and apply toner at night. fresh - Rose Deep Hydration Sleeping Mask  I highly recommend you guys to add these products to your skincare routine! I promise they won’t disappoint especially if you have dry, sensitive skin. ❤️

Two products that have worked
Two products that have worked really well for me especially during winters. . ✨LANEIGE - Cica Sleeping Mask It has thicker cream texture but doesn’t feel greasy, leaves my skin supple hydrated in the morning. I use it as last step in my night time skincare routine. It has fermented Forest Yeast extract that strengthens the skin barrier and soothes any redness or irritation. This mask is vegan. Price $34 . ✨ LANEIGE - Cream Skin Refiner I use one layer of it as a toner/essence before applying serum or moisturizer. It kept my skin hydrated and soft. It is lightweight milky toner. One of the ingredients is White leaf tea water, which is rich in amino acids, strengthens skin barrier keeping it moisturized. Price $33 for 5 oz

Innisfree My Real Squeeze Sheet Mask (Honey)
Innisfree My Real Squeeze Sheet Mask (Honey)
I have been using Innisfree’s sheet masks for a long long long time and I have to say that they ARE a worthy purchase. I love how they have so many different types of sheet masks (my favourites are honey, rose, and green tea) that suits all sorts of skin types. This manuka honey variant is supposed to be more nourishing and moisturizing, which is best suited for those with dry and rough skin as its main aim is to soothe, balance and hydrate. The one I have been using most recently (because I bought a pack of 10 lol) is the Manuka Honey My Real Squeeze Mask and it has been so kind to my skin! I hardly ever use sheet masks because I don’t require that much hydration for my skin every day, but I find this to be a godsend in winter where ever drop of moisture counts. This sheet mask is a moisture-rich serum-type mask (Innisfree has cream type masks as well) and it is a translucent sheet mask that simply just adheres to your skin to really help soak in all the product. It has a very serumy, watery, texture (as do most masks) that drips the minute you take it out of the packet. Don’t get me wrong - that’s great because there’s so much essence in the packet! I use the leftover serum for my elbows and knees 🥳 The mask is also very soothing and cooling when you first use it, which I love as well! The results of using this mask is really incredible. On days that my skin is less dry, I just use the mask as my main moisturizer/serum and that’s it. I still manage to wake up with super soft and supple skin the next day, which is INCREDIBLE. I will however layer another moisturizer over the mask during winter, using the mask like a serum, because my parched skin soaks up the essence so fast that I need another layer to retain all the moisture. I also used this on my boyfriend recently when he was going through a bad sunburn on his face (his skin was soooo dry afterwards) and his skin was so much softer the day after, which was so so great considering we only used this mask and nothing else (he’s quite lazy with skincare). The only gripe I have with this is that its mask is so ill-fitting. It doesn’t exactly fit my face, despite being an Asian brand, which makes me look deformed everytime I use it. It is just the right size for my boyfriend’s face. You can see how the mask looks like when my boyfriend wears it - the serumy texture is literally coated on every inch of the mask. However, this is just a small con for me - the results are more than enough to make up for it. I would definitely recommend this to a friend! I love putting sheet masks because they are just so easy to use with friends during a sleepover. Also, because they are so easy to use, they are the only thing my bf uses when he needs some moisturizer in his life 🤭 Plus, at 1.80 USD a packet, you can’t go wrong, especially with so much product in the packet! I love that there’s also a huge variety of masks you can choose from that makes it so easy for everyone and anyone to use. Innisfree is one of my favourite sheet mask brands for sure! #Innisfree - My Real Squeeze Mask[products]#[FourStars]

Soothing Soothing Soothing
Soothing Soothing Soothing
I purchased this and another one because I had only heard good things. I’ve used this when my skin has been a bit annoyed/dry/irritated. It’s a nice and thick mask which they recommend you generously apply, and let me tell you, it’s so soothing! A key ingredient in this product that allows for soothing is colloidal oatmeal, which is used to help ease irritation in eczema and rosacea. It does contain a variety of extracts such as: Camellia Senensis, Crysanthamum, etc. and although this is marketed for sensitive skin, botanical extracts have a higher chance of containing irritants. On the other hand, FAB is allergy tested so I’m assuming it’s cleared from that. In addition, this is fragrance free (🎉) and cruelty free!! My cousin who has oily skin recommended this to me, so I believe that this should work for most skin types. (Patch test first pls)

youth to the people is a b
. . youth to the people is a brand that has stolen my heart this year. I first fell in love with the adaptogen cream and from there I was hooked! The Superberry Dream Mask is my favorite sleeping mask. It’s hydrating, brightening, and feels so nourishing. The Superfood Reset Mask is like a salad for your face. It leaves my skin refreshed and feeling so healthy. I also use it as a spot treatment overnight sometimes on problem areas. The Adaptogen Mist is addicting and I haven’t been able to stop misting my face since I got it. It’s soothing and hydrating and the finest mist I’ve ever tried. . . Next I need to get my hands on their Oil and restock the Adaptogen cream!

First Laneige product which impressed me
First Laneige product which impressed me
Product claims: An overnight replenishing mask that delivers intense moisture to help soothe redness and strengthen the skin barrier for healthier, less stressed skin. Product target concerns: redness and dryness My experience: let me just tell you I never ever understood the hype behind laneige products because none of them worked for my skin. I had no expectations for this mask but OMG!! I got a deluxe size with one of my Sephora purchases and I wanted to pick up the full size only after one application! It’s so lightweight, so soothing, softening and I saw a lot of improvement in my skin redness. Also I used it for the the first time when I had an allergic reaction and I remember how my skin was so parched that night. It reduced my inflammation and really hydrated my skin. I use it twice a week and the consistency plus texture is really similar to summer fridays jet lag mask. Do I recommend this? Yes absolutely!! It’s an amazing dupe for SF jet lag Price: $34 for 2.0 oz
