Which facial oil should I use? 😤
Who would’ve thought that facial oils would be a thing we’d put on our face?! Weren’t we trying to avoid having oily skin? Before I started getting into skincare, I never used facial oils before. So, when I dove into the world, I didn’t know where to start. There’s so many on the market that it’s hard to pinpoint which ones truly do work and which ones are just veggie oil in a bottle 😭 Here are 3 facial oils I’ve tried & my experience with them. Hopefully you’ve tried them before, too! And, if not, then what you waiting for sis?! 1. from plants - OMG Facial Oil this facial oil by from plants is one of my favorite lightweight oils out there. Because it’s so lightweight, I’ve managed to use it during the AM when I’m just staying home. This facial oil contains: Apricot kernel oil: helps to moisturize while slowing signs of aging Rose hip, lavender and pumpkin oil: boosts collagen production and reduces inflammation Turmeric oil: targets pores and calms skin from breakouts This is a great facial oil for anyone looking to have a nutrient packed product without having to add additional ingredients onto your face. 2. KORA - Noni Glow Face Oil one of my favorite oils of all time! This facial oil does exactly as it says: GLOW ✨ I’ve also used this in the AM and have gone out with it on. All day glow, ladies, trust me. This facial oil contains: Noni extract, rosehip oil, pomegranate oil and sea buckthorn: all combined are meant to create a rich source of antioxidants and fatty acids to your skin! This is more pricey being $68 but the results were well worth it. If you want a similar product, let’s head below 👇🏼 3. sbâèk - Globe Trotter Facial Oil this facial oil is slightly thicker than the noni facial oil so I use it in the PM. It is unavailable on the market BUT a great alternative is THE inkey LIST - Squalane Oil which offers the same result for me. It produces soft and supple skin while also targeting inflammation, great for restorative measures!

My favorite serums! (pt. ii)
You can’t have too many serums on your shelf, trust me. I am NOTORIOUS for collecting serums, despite not being knowledgeable about every single one of them. The products on my favorite list have been tried and true in my book and have worked for me 🙂 While I no longer support Good Molecules on my IG, I still can reminisce about the goodness their serums had offered me before they were empty 😭 LUMENE - Nordic-C Glow Boost Essence Serum 30ml this is one of my favorite vitamin c serums because of its “gel-like” yet lightweight texture. It smelled exactly of oranges and brightened up my face within 2 weeks of using it! I loved how I was able to pick it up at Target and buy it for around $13. It offered me a fresh glow that I haven’t gotten in awhile from any other vitamin c product I’ve used thus far. GOOD MOLECULES - Daily Brightening Serum this is another brightening serum that has served me well! It definitely helped in targeting any hyperpigmentation I had and made my skin look hella good in the sunlight with that glow 😜😜 it was my favorite serum to use before an AM moisturizer! GOOD MOLECULES - Super Peptide Serum this super peptide serum WASNT one I was familiar with. I mean, peptides? For what??! Apparently, the peptides and copper tripeptides help to hydrate, brighten and smooth skin. Ultimately, I really enjoyed this serum for the PM. The next day, my skin would look so good that sometimes I wouldn’t even wear makeup that day. Who would’ve thunk! 😌

HYDRATION IS KEY 😌✨
Have you ever felt your skin get tight after having freshly cleansed? Yup. You may have dry skin. Normally, my dry skin begins to come out to play during the cooler seasons and especially when I’ve been using drying products. To regain that moisture and to quench my skins thirst, I always use these 2 products as my go to 👇🏼 💦 THIRSTY SKIN ROUTINE 💦 1. SHISEIDO - Refreshing Cleansing Water one of my favorite water essences in the game! It works so well to freshen skin without drying it out too much. It smells so good and is lightweight but leaves a fresh canvas for you to apply your products on. I usually use this as an AM “cleanser” (I don’t use a cleanser in the mornings) and as a PM toner! 2. DEWYTREE - Hyaluron Melting-Chou Cream this thick k-beauty cream is the perfect PM cleanser to give you soft and supple skin in the morning. It contains ceramides and hyaluronic acid, 2 ingredients that make for the perfect hydration cocktail 🌬use this after all your serums and oils in the PM to seal in moisture 😏 (and did I mention it’s only $10?) Investing in products to help hydrate your skin will help in building, maintaining and/or repairing your skin barrier. It’s well worth it to avoid the dry skin this season, trust ya girl 😌💦

Cherie made me buy it! (part ii)
I am so easily convinced by so many things that I’m probably the last person who should buy products off of reviews... HOWEVER, THAT WONT STOP ME FROM SPENDING 😜🙌🏼✨ Here’s 2 products that thanks to Cherie have now earned two spots on my shelf 👇🏼 🍑 My skin type: Combination ohii - Before + After Vitamin C Mask this mask is claimed to be a “5 minute facial,” perfect for starting your day. Right off the bat, the consistency of the product was a little more lightweight than I had expected and the fresh scent had me reaching for it every morning. It brought such a nice glow to my skin that I wish I could’ve bought more than one! It’s currently $24 at Urban Outfitters and to me, thats pretty pricey, but I’d splurge again just to be able to experience the refreshing feel my skin felt for the first time. KORRES - Pomegranate Pore Blurring Gel Moisturizer this somewhat “thick” moisturizer smelled so good and blended like butter into my skin. It definitely helped with dryness I get in the colder evenings when my room is pretty dry. It retains moisture well as my skin feels hydrated the next day. It includes pomegranate extract to reduce the appearance of pores and BHAs, meant to exfoliate dead skin cells! This pot is currently $36 at Sephora. Quite a splurge, I agree, but the results of this have left my skin softer and plumper than before!

Skincare + Eco-Friendliness (yes, it exists!)
Maybe you’ve been a little more environmentally conscious lately or have been a tree hugger your entire life. Whatever your case may be, I think we can all relate to the feeling of being able to do good while look good 😏🙌🏼 I personally put a lot of emphasis on being eco-friendly when it comes to the skincare industry because of how much waste can accumulate just from packaging alone. Think about how many plastic is on your shelf right now. Here are a few products/brands that are magnetized towards being eco-friendly 👇🏼💗 YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Limited Edition Pride Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser I was able to repurpose this glass bottle into another bottle for my new cleanser. The versatility of glass packaging (heavily endorsed by YTTP) is essential for skincare as it encourages the process of reusing materials without excessive waste. This cleanser is also extremely fresh and leaves my skin feeling super clean. Before, I’d go through countless plastic bottle cleansers that were both non environmentally friendly AND non effective. HERBIVORE - Prism 5% Exfoliating Glow Potion this small herbivore bottle is also made of glass and has a pipet for easy portioning of any liquids. I especially love how Herbivores products are vegan and cruelty free! This specific exfoliant worked in my favor to achieve a glow and vibrant look to my skin. I enjoyed the subtle yet effectiveness of it. REN CLEAN SKINCARE - Perfect Canvas Clean Primer when Ren skincare launches this primer, it not only came in a glass bottle but also a card with instructions on how to properly recycle it after it’s done. This was extremely intuitive on their part as it provides a physical reminder to consumers of the proper way to recycle products. The primer definitely primed my face well as I noticed my makeup staying on longer with this on due to the tacky texture. It comes out as a “serum” but blends into the skin like a “lotion.” Magic, no? Finally, as my last photo, here you can see the packaging boxes of various skincare products ive collected over the years. I cut the packages to fit into a “collage” made on a $5 target cork board with glue. The final result came out so pretty and made for the perfect gift for one of my IG friends! 😏🙌🏼 Being into skincare doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice being environmentally conscious. Being aware of brands who are striving towards the same goal as you can help streamline this habit and help encourage others to be a little more loving to mama earth 😌✨

A shade analysis on Colourpop’s shade range
If you’re not yet aware, I do a #shadyseries on my IG account: @thesnoopdoggfanpage and analyze various shade ranges of popular brands like Fenty, Rare Beauty and NARS (you can navigate through my IG account in my Cherie bio 😌🙌🏼) Recently, I was asked by my followers to analyze COLOURPOP - Pretty Fresh Hyaluronic Hydrating Foundation , a line that features 42 shades at $12 each. Here’s your key point highlights 👇🏼 ☁️ 12 shades offered in 70-80 and 80-90 range 💡 compare to @hudabeauty and @fentybeauty with only 5 shades in the 80-90 range ☁️ 0 shades offered in 20-30 range 💡 compare to @rarebeauty with 2 shades and @fentybeauty with 3 shades ☁️ 1 shade offered in the 40-50 range 💡 compare to @fentybeauty with 6 shades, @hudabeauty with 4 shades and @rarebeauty with 8 shades Obviously, ha, we need more work here in understanding what’s innovative about this foundation. The 40+ shade ranges look different across different brands and this is a prime example of that. I’m disappointed in the limited options despite their CEO having claimed that there was an equal distribution of shades available for all tones. Your thoughts? 📢😀

We all want to feel comfortable in our own skin. But sometimes it can feel like our skin is working against us – particularly when it loses its even tone and dark spots start appearing. Happy Pride Month 🌈💕
Just a reminder that the celebration we know today would not be possible without the courage of the prolific Marsha P. Johnson (a Black Trans Woman and liberation activist) and the Black Queer community who were the first to protest for the rights of the LGBTQ+ community during the Stonewall Riots in 1969. Please join us in using your voice and platform to stand up for the Black LGBTQ+ community as we celebrate pride month and continue to support Black Lives Matter. Liberation is intersectional.
Wtf is a konjac sponge 🧽!?
100% pure - Charcoal Konjac Sponge I first heard about konjac from my mom because she said it's a great diet food. Never knew that I would soon be putting konjac on my face. This sponge made from the root of the konjac veggie is meant to gently exfoliate your skin without it being too abrasive or rough (no St. Ives welcome in this household!) 🙅🏻♀️ 🐚 It comes dry and quite rough -similar to the pumice stone for removing dead skin. Like a Beauty Blender, you run it under water till it's soaking wet and soft and pump it with your favorite cleanser. Gently rub on your face to exfoliate and remove dead skin cells, tighten pores, and leave your complexion feeling smOooOooTh and glowy ✨ 🧽 I actually got my konjac sponges from Amazon (Kohle) and they come with different “flavors” for different targets- oily skin, anti-aging, pores, etc. This one is for those who have oily skin (me) and spot-prone skin (also me). Minus one star in that it kinda leaves my skin feeling too tight and dry. Also don't know if the different types actually do what they say or if they just decided to dye the sponges a different color 🤷🏻♀️
