Healed in under 1 week! How I prevented scarring

avatar
nay.nay
🐺So I have a 9 month old Siberian Husky, he’s got way too much energy for me sometimes. He totally booped me in the eye with his teeth & basically bit my eyelid. I was honestly so f***ing worried, eye skin is so sensitive & my skin scar easily, even from bruising. So how did I get this back to normal in 6 days? First things first... Regularly applying (yup, multiple times a day) SUNSCREEN will help prevent hyperpigmentation. ☀️When you get a cut or bruise, even a baby one, your skin barrier has been compromised. Even the healthiest skin barrier will not protect you from UV rays whatsoever & any new skin growing after an abrasion is extremely susceptible to UV damage, regardless of your skin tone! I’m super pale, but even with skin that doesn’t burn easily, newly generated skin tissue will become darker if you don’t use an SPF to protect it. I included a pic of a scratch I got from my dog several months ago, where I totally didn’t protect it from the sun. I can be lazy about body sunscreen & this proved to me that almost any broken skin will scar if it gets sun. I used: KINSHIP - Self Reflect Probiotic Moisturzing Sunscreen Zinc Oxide SPF 32
But honestly any sunscreen you like with a decent SPF is key for scar prevention. Reapply & reapply! I love this formula because it’s so moisturizing! Full review in a previous post. Keeping your skin hydrated & moisturized is super important too, you want to give your skin nourishment while it heals. Which brings me to the second most important thing. 🐌A repair serum: Beauty of Joseon - Repair Serum : Ginseng+Snail Mucin
I have fully fallen in love with Snail Mucin after this serum! Because Snail Mucin is a stress-induced excretion, it's comprised of ingredients meant to repair or protect from injury. These include growth factors, which work by triggering the growth of new skin cells & new collagen. This particular serum is really affordable-$17. It contains over 3% Snail Mucin & it’s over 63% Ginseng extract, also amazing for skin repair & evening tone. Allantoin is another component in the secretion; healing properties, calms irritation & stimulates cell regeneration Also fragrance/alcohol free! Sulwhasoo - First Care Activating Serum Limited Edition
This is also packed with Ginseng & other reparative botanical extracts. This really helps me retain moisture in my skin, I use it 2x a day & have noticed generally brighter & clearer skin in the last few months. You use this after cleansing or toning, before other serums. TATCHA - The Silk Peony Melting Eye Cream
After a couple days I added this. ETUDE - SoonJung 2x Barrier Intensive Cream
Great for sensitive skin & has vitamin E. I alternated between this &: TATCHA - The Dewy Skin Cream
Also used this: Beauty of Joseon - Glow Serum : Propolis+Niacinamide
Almost 60% Propolis + 2% Niacinamide

🌙💤Current Nighttime routine
🌚This is my basic night routine at the moment, even though I’m still considering some new products to possibly add or swap out... Feel free to ask me any questions in the comments💕 I use the products in the following order: YVES SAINT LAURENT - Top Secrets Universal Makeup Remover Balm in Oil First part of my double-cleanse. I haven’t worn makeup since the beginning of quarantine, but it’s still really necessary to break down all the sunscreen I wear. This is a nice cleansing balm, it’s very silky & light compared to others, & has a lovely scent. I haven’t tested it yet for removing makeup though. fresh - Sugar Strawberry Exfoliating Face Wash A favorite of mine, I did a full review of this product in a previous post🍓I love this gentle exfoliating cleanser! DIOR - Hydra Life Balancing Hydration 2 in 1 Sorbet Water Check out my review of this hydrating, prebiotic toner in a previous post. MAY COOP - Raw Sauce 🍁My holy grail essence, it’s 93% maple extract. Check out my recent post for my full review & ingredient breakdown. Sulwhasoo - First Care Activating Serum Limited Edition Such an amazing serum! I need to do a more detailed review soon. ESTĒE LAUDER - Perfectionist CP+R Wrinkle Lifting/Firming Serum I don’t use this every night... it’s actually a great daytime product because it’s matte, smoothing & pore perfecting. Honestly it makes a great (but expensive) makeup primer! fresh - Lotus Anti-Aging Night Moisturizer Just did a review on this night cream, feel free to check it out. I just emptied it, so instead I used: NARS - Aqua Gel Luminous Mask This is really great product to relieve irritated skin. It has a lot of marine extracts. I did a full review of this in a previous post💙🦪This product really impressed me! Finally I’ll finish my routine with a decadent lip balm LANEIGE - LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask Also previously did a full review of this new Gummy Bear scented lip sleeping mask & the corresponding lip glowy balm🧸💜so moisturizing!!! ☁️goodnight beauties☁️

First impressions: Sulwhasoo serum/Nars lipgloss
💕Tried a couple new products! Nars Oil-infused lip tint | shade: Orgasm It’s a lipgloss that performs like a hydrating balm because of shea butter, raspberry oil, pomegranate oil & jojoba seed oil. I’ve been really into oil based glosses instead of other lipgloss. I haven’t been into shimmery or sparkly glosses in a while, but it’s barely noticeable when you wear it. I have not tried it over lipstick yet though. NARS - NARS Oil-Infused Lip Tint My lip hydration standards are really high, & today I put this on right after my shower & didn’t feel the need to reach for my regular lip balm at any point (I’m a lip balm addict). It’s completely scentless & also flavorless. Which could be a good or bad thing for you. This is definitely my new favorite gloss! The shade is really different than the cult blush of the same name. I happened to have a mini & swatched them together for you guys. Personally Nars Orgasm blush is a bit too orangey & shimmery for me. Just not a shade for me🤷🏻‍♀️I used to use it as eyeshadow in high school lol😆 NARS - Limited Edition Orgasm Blush 💖Ok next up: The First care activating serum from Korean skincare brand Sulwhasoo. I’d been dying to try this after reading so many good things... I’ve only been using it for about a week but I love it! Sulwhasoo - First Care Activating Serum Limited Edition same as ⤵️ Sulwhasoo - First Care Activating Serum It’s chock full of good stuff: 한방 a true multi action Hanbang concoction! Hanbang means Korean traditional holistic medicine. I added slides of all the skin loving ingredients in their signature JAUM Balancing Complex™ as well as 8 other beneficial ingredients it contains. At first the smell was a little overwhelming because I’m not a fan of herbal scents, however, I fell in love quite immediately... Within seconds the smell becomes incredibly refreshing, & the smell doesn’t linger the way some herbal products do. Within the first few days I noticed decreased inflammation & decreased redness. It really helps every product you use after it to be better absorbed. My skin loves this, & the layers of moisture I add after (maybe another serum & then cream) stay giving me hydration all day/ all night. It’s pretty lightweight for a serum, a little bit thicker than an essence. I’ve been experimenting how to use it in my routine, as some suggest to use immediately after cleansing. I’m most comfortable using it after my toner, but it really depends on what ingredients/ benefits you’re trying to achieve with your toner. So I can’t speak on all of the anti-aging benefits yet, but it truly increases absorption & both calms & nourishes the skin. Extra plus, this limited edition “pink chrome” value size is simply GORGEOUS!💖& a great deal for over 3 oz.

Glow & Repair serum
Beauty of Joseon is quickly becoming a favorite brand! Glow propolis serum: thick and hydrating, does give you a bit of a hydrated skin glow which is always good. I have noticed it helps my mask acne which would be the propolis in there helping which is another plus. And it has no smell, not even a non fragranced icky smell that some serums get. Very good serum I’d recommend it to dry skin who has some mask acne problems or just dry skin in general. So far works out good for my skin. Warning it is a bit sticky but I don’t mind at all Repair snail mucin- this one is much thinner, spreads very easily more of a watery type texture but very good too. Still hydrating enough that I like it but I can see oily or combo skin liking this one too. Honestly I love it because it’s repairing and it has snail mucin, if you haven’t googled or watched YouTube videos on the effect of snail mucin on your skin you should! It is very repairing that I love using it once or twice a week to just help repair any part of my skin that needs it. And again no smell what so ever. As you might know I highly recommend the Beauty of Joseon products. No joke their dynasty cream has lightened my acne marks literally within two days of using it way more then any vitamin C serum or exfoliator did. Highly recommend every checks out this company. And get it from Stylevana they have so many sales that it makes it very affordable too!

Sunscreen Steal!
Okay yall, I got this at TJ Maxx for $16! Don’t worry, I checked the expiration date and all that good stuff. So, here is my honest review: BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Mineral SPF 45 I know biossance released a new SPF in place of this one that gets much better reviews. This, however, was not a bad find for $16. Slight white cast but not too bad and it was really hydrating! It’s definitely something I will keep with me in my gym bag for when I’m out and about but it won’t be my go to since I also just got the KINSHIP - Self Reflect Probiotic Moisturzing Sunscreen Zinc Oxide SPF 32 and it’s my favorite spf ever.

Stimulate the Economy! Buy Skincare!
My newest finds and unfortunately last for a while :( I’m on leave from work right now so I only have one more paycheck coming in so these will be my last new grabs for a while! KINSHIP - Self Reflect Probiotic Moisturzing Sunscreen Zinc Oxide SPF 32 -First time using a mineral sunscreen and I am in love! No white cast at all, leaves my face looking so glowy but not oily. Smell is kinda weird but that’s usually what happens when the product is fragrance free so 🤷🏼‍♀️ peach slices - Snail Rescue All-in-One Oil Free Moisturizer -You KNOW I had to get this after trying the snail mask! I have combo/oily leaning skin and this moisturizer is so nice and thin. I occlude it with squalane in the mornings TULA SKINCARE - Go Away Acne Spot Treatment -Okay so I was looking for the kinship spot treatment and couldn’t find it so I got this instead. I have not used it yet but it’s formulated with niacinamide, licorice, benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, azelaic acid, and lactic acid. WHEW that is a pretty stacked inkey IMO so I’m excited! I had coupons and points so I only got paid like $47 for all of this but I just got my stimulus check (yay!) so here’s to stimulating the economy! Hope you all get your stimmys and the chance to try some new products :-)

These products improved my acne in 3 weeks
Since March 2020 I started breaking out really bad. It got even worse in September and I think it was due to over exfoliation and irritated skin. I started using these products below 3 weeks ago and as you can see from the pictures my acne has noticeably improved. Most of the acne has subsided. The acne on my temples are almost non existent and just some redness remains. Also the redness on my cheeks are fading and are smaller in size. Current routine: Toner: ETUDE - Etude House SoonJung pH 5.5 Relief Toner Serums: The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% and The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 Treatment: AZCLEAR - Medicated Lotion Creams: LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Duo (+) and ETUDE - SoonJung 2x Barrier Intensive Cream Retinol: DRUNK ELEPHANT - A-Passioni Retinol Cream Really happy with these products right now! I will continue using these products and might add Vitamin C as well. I will post another update in another 3 weeks, stay tuned 🙈

🌜simple night time routine 🌛
My nighttime skincare routine is one of my favorite parts of the day. It’s the time when I begin to relax and take off everything the day has thrown at me. With that being said the nighttime skincare routine should be geared toward healing, treating, and repairing. It’s so important to have a well balanced nighttime routine. 🌜🌜🌜🌜 My first step is always using BIODERMA - Sébium H2O it’s the best micellar water I have ever tried and it’s super gentle. Oily/combo skin folks will LOVE this because it really does do a great job breaking down oil and removing dirt/makeup. (not pictured) Step two is always COSRX - Low PH Good Morning Gel Cleanser Although it says morning I always use it at night because it’s pH balanced and very gentle. It won’t strip your skin which is so important especially if you plan to go in with active ingredients after. Step 3 on DAMP skin I apply The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 it helps my skin retain moisture and prepares it for the next steps in my routine (not pictured for a detailed review see my previous post) Step 4 I pat in ETUDE - SoonJung pH 5.5 Relief Toner which is my absolute HOLY GRAIL toners, it not only keeps skin hydrated, but it’s also pH balanced and helps protect the skin barrier. This is probably my 20th bottle of this stuff. It’s incredible. Step 5 Is ETHEIR DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel or The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I would never use these in the same routine. Instead I alternate and use each one every other day. Differin is a great product , it helped clear my skin up so fast. (I do plan on doing a more detailed review soon so stay tuned) The niacinamide has also worked amazing in balancing my sebum production and lightening my hyperpigmentation. Both of these products are amazing if you suffer from acne. Step 6 I use my MIZON - Snail Repair Eye Cream which I’ve talked about before. It’s really moisturizing and if you have very allergy prone eyes like me this is an absolute MUST. The price is also really affordable! Step 7 ETUDE - SoonJung 2x Barrier Intensive Cream My last and favorite step is of course this moisturizer by Etude House, I use it day and night and I can’t sing it’s praises enough. It’s just the perfect fit for all skin types and does an amazing job at protecting the skin barrier. 🌛🌛🌛🌛 Do you use any of these products or would you like a more detailed reviews on a specific part of my routine? Let me know! Sweet Dreams!

Just okay for such an expensive product :/
First Impression: I opened the box and WOW is this small for $20! I never shop at Sephora and the only reason I bought this was because I received a $25 gift card recently but I was at least expecting this to be a little bit bigger. Like .5 fl oz instead of .34 maybe? I have heard amazing things from dozens of skincare sites so I couldn’t wait to try it! Opening: When I opened the tin, it looked thick due to its color, but once I put some on it was VERY thin. When I use my regular Clinique Moisture Surge (which is super hydrating) it is very lightweight but still a little bit heavier than this. Smells great! Next day: I have to say the combo of this and THE BODY SHOP - Jumbo Tea Tree Oil has me waking up with the smoothest skin but lately my skin has been feeling much drier due to the cold (not on just my face) and I don’t think it is as hydrating as I expected it to be. The cream dries very quickly which makes me want to put another layer on and when I wake up I still have dry spots. Like I said I feel VERY smooth but not as hydrated as I’d like. Verdict: I feel like this would definitely benefit me better around the summer/springtime when I’m not looking for complete re-hydration of my skin and more of a moisturizer but I do not think this is the holy grail I was expecting it to be. Try it out if you get the opportunity because all skin is different! But for my combination skin and hormonal acne, it’s gonna be a no from me, dawg :(

My skin has been liking me lately😊
Been using these three products for a month and for 43 year old skin I must say they do not disappoint. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% takes away little bumps and patch’s of redness. Helps prevent acne. The Ordinary - Retinol 0.2% in Squalane GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow Pink Juice Moisturizer oil free doesn’t case acne and it feels great in my skin.Kiehl's - Ultra Facial Oil-Free Cleanser I love this face wash doesn’t cause breakouts and leaves skin so soft and clean. I haven’t found a face wash this great in awhile. TATCHA - The Silk Peony Melting Eye Cream

Legit luxury but worth it? 🤔
You are all super familiar now of the brand Tatcha. It became really popular and you started seeing a ton of influencers touting their products. This brand was started by a Missouri-born Taiwanese American who holds an MBA from Harvard Business School. She worked in large corporations for over 10 years and decided she wanted to start a skincare line with a more holistic approach using classical Japanese beauty secrets passed down by generations that took a different approach to skincare - that less is more. You’ll see some really unique ingredients in Tatcha’s products! So needless to say, I needed to try it! Here’s one of the products I’ve tried. TATCHA - The Silk Peony Melting Eye Cream Claims: An anti-aging eye cream that melts to release a double shield of hydration with line-smoothing liquid silk and moisture-locking Japanese White Peony for youthful, radiant eyes. Cushiony balm designed for comfort around the delicate eye area melts upon application to release a powerful moisturizing elixir with liquid silk. Blurs the look of fine lines and wrinkles, helping skin resemble the soft, smooth, natural radiance of pure silk. Ideal for prepping the eye area before makeup application. Key ingredients 🌸 🌸Japanese White Peony Extract- helps strengthen the skin barrier function, providing a “seal” that enables the thinnest skin around the eye area to retain moisture for reduced dryness and sensitivity. 🌸Silk Extract- Includes the two proteins that comprise silk — sericin and fibroin — that together closely parallel the amino acid structure of human skin. This complete protein provides a protective veil of hydration like a second skin without weighing it down, revealing a lustrous glow. 🌸Hadasei-3 Complex- a signature trio of pure Japanese superfoods, double fermented to yield essential skin nutrients for visibly radiant, more youthful-looking eyes. My experience- I know a lot of us think eye creams are just unnecessary because you can use a regular moisturizer and it works the same. I agree with this with the exception of a few eye creams and this is one of them. After applying this lightly to my under eye area, the skin just looks better with a hint of brightness. As I’m aging, I notice the skin under my eyes getting saggier and most likely thinner and since I’ve been using this eye cream, alternating with one other, that is actually getting better. It’s looking brighter and my eye bags aren’t as bad. This cream really does seem to melt into silk on my skin and looks like it literally lifts that area. I’ll definitely continue using and provide some before and after pics to see how it goes with long term use but for now I really like it! This is expensive at $60.00 for .05 oz. so I wouldn’t really recommend this unless you are trying to combat aging. Otherwise I do think a less expensive cream or just a moisturizer is fine! 🌸🌸🌸

Am Skincare Routine
Am Skincare Routine
This is my current AM routine. It’s super important to keep my morning routine very simple and effective. These products give my skin an amazing glowing finish and ready for me to tackle the day. 1. Glossier Milky Jelly Cleansers is an amazing gentle wash to clean and refresh your skin. I love it so much this is my second bottle. 2. Olehenriksen Vitamin C serum is my absolute favorite! I will admit it’s a splurge coming at $65 but it’s definitely worth it in my opinion because Vitamin C is a key ingredient in my routines. It has a slight citrusy scent but nothing to overbearing. 3. Olehenriksen brightening banana eye cream is a great eye cream for helping with dark circles. It’s lasted me so long. 4. Korres Gel probiotic cream is an amazing light weight moisturizer for the AM. This is amazing because it not only leaves me with a nice glow but it very lightweight. 5. SPF SPF SPF, it’s very important for you to be wearing sunscreen everyday and I find that this very effective. It’s very clear and doesn’t have a white cast at all. It’s only spf 30 which kinda sucks but I still love it.

Shani Darden skincare update ⁣ ⁣ I’ve incorporated Retinol Reform and their Oil Free Moisturizer into my routine frequently these past few months. The moisturizer has been such a dream. It’s so weightless and leaves my skin feeling so soft and looking smooth without any clogging. With normal to combination skin, oil free moisturizers are my go-to and this one definitely doesn’t disappoint. Cult favorite retinol reform is super gentle with 2.2% encapsulated retinol. My main concerns are dullness and uneven tone. Over a few months of using this 2 times per week, my skin looks brighter and more even and I’m excited to see the results once I finish the bottle.⁣ ⁣ Have you tried anything from the brand? ⁣ ⁣ SHANI DARDEN SKIN CARE - Retinol Reform SHANI DARDEN SKIN CARE - Weightless Oil-Free Moisturizer ⁣ ______⁣__ *gifted

Mornings always follow these s
Mornings always follow these steps... I try not complicate things in the mornings when I’m busy, I just want antioxidants, hydration and SPF. . 🌞 Klairs Supple Preparation Unscented Toner - I find this thicker than the scented version. Perfect patted in a couple of layers after cleansing. Really plumps and hydrates. . 🌞 Drunk Elephant C-Firma Day Serum - I like this, it layers well, it definitely brightens, it does smell and it’s expensive, would I re-purchase? Only if there was decent saving to be made... . 🌞 Pixi Beauty Hydrating Milky Mist - I LOVE THIS MIST! Has the best mist action on any mist I own. Plumps and hydrates with hyaluronic acid reduce redness and soothe irritation with a blend of black oat, provitamin A and linoleic acid. My skin feels calm and contented... . 🌞 JANE SCRIVNER Bioluronic Buzz Smoothing Hyaluronic Hydrator - I can't get enough of this in the mornings recently, I love the thick gel texture that melts into the skin. Not only is it an amazing Hyaluronic acid serum it also has the ‘Buzz’ ingredient Spilanthes Acmella to reduce muscle tension and smooth micro wrinkles and lines... buzzing! 😉 . 🌞 Ole Henriksen Banana Bright Eye Créme - for mornings when you wake up tired (every morning) there’s nothing better to see your dark circles disappear with a swipe of this cream. Never knew such a brightening product that works so instantly! ✨ . 🌞 Dewy&Bae Raw Glow - the perfect oil for morning times, doesn’t leave me feeling greasy at all, crazy amount of good things packed into this that is perfect for ALL skin types, it will banish blemishes and heal skin, it’s also a great anti-inflammatory and has anti-bacterial properties, it’s ALSO great for anti-aging as an antioxidant and promotes collagen and elastin in the skin... 💚 . 🌞 LAGOM Cellus Sun Gel - a one-stop-shop for K-beauty finds. This is an absolute belter! I haven’t even needed to use a moisturizer recently when I’ve been wearing this as it’s so hydrating, a lovely lightweight non-greasy texture. If you don’t wear a daily SPF because you think of them as horrible thick sun cream then you need to get this!

My AM routine! I’m sad the writing on the video got cut off a bit but I’ll highlight below Like I stated in my PM routine, it varies often based on what products I have open. Brightening and wakes my skin up. ROSEN SKINCARE - Bright Citrus Serum pleasantly enjoying this serum. Texture threw me off at first because it’s clear and very watery but it pats and absorbs into skin nicely! REVOLUTION - Mattifying Cream with Niacinamide Great AM cream! Not too heavy and the mattifying properties make it a great makeup priming moisturizer DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Tango Multivitamin Eye Cream love this eye cream, hydrating and absorbs great for under makeup Krave - The Beet Shield my new favorite SPF!
