🚰 water-based /amino acid rich cleansers

avatar
nay.nay
I’ve accumulated a few mini cleansers through gift sets & Sephora points & as I began to research the ingredients I found a lot of similarities. So I figured why not review them side by side. 🥥💧Of course their ingredients do differ, but easily comparable. Each of these cleansers are water-based (1st ingredient in all 3) & all contain a combination of Glycerin & various Coconut Oil derivatives as their first 6 ingredients. Each cleanser also contains Amino Acids! These are the building blocks of Proteins & Peptides. Each Amino Acid performs a specific function in skin care. Certain Amino Acids occur naturally in our skin & work together with Aquaporins (the water transport system of your body) to replenish moisture through the dermis layers. Amino Acids our bodies make are considered non-essential. Essential Amino Acids are the ones your body cannot naturally produce. Some work as Antioxidants, but most Amino Acids actually help your skin to reproduce its own Antioxidants. The 9 essential ones are: Histidine, Isoleucine, Leucine, Lysine, Methionine, Phenylalanine, Threonine, Valine & my personal favorite Tryptophan🥛 *I’m a double-cleanserer; currently using: YVES SAINT LAURENT - Top Secrets Universal Makeup Remover Balm in Oil
keep postponing a full review on this even though I use it everyday, idk😚 🔮TATCHA - The Rice Wash Skin-Softening Cleanser
$35/4 oz This is a rich cleanser & I love it. It feels really nourishing! If you’re a fan of their rice powders, you should definitely try- this leaves your skin feeling more hydrated! Strong scent-floral/herbal. 🧼TATCHA - The Deep Cleanse Exfoliating Cleanser
$38/5 oz First off, I’ve heard many complaints about the bottle & how it dispenses. A nay.nay first- She figured out how to open something “complicated” instead of youtubing how to open some simple af product😂 🕳It has a tiny hole to dispense, & it’s odd, but the backside of the bottle is a thinner plastic than the logo side, & you actually push the back of the bottle, & it dispenses fine! I got to every last drop💧 The formula is a lovely texture; it’s kinda thick, which I like in a cleanser because I can control it better. The physical exfoliant in this is quite gentle, the only physical exfoliant I like to use on my face is sugar, but these little bits of Luffa fruit are very tiny, sparse & gentle. Yes, it’s the same Luffa you’re thinking of! I included a pic of the plant in the slides. I loved this cleanser most out of the 3, found myself reaching for it the most. The scent isn’t as strong as Rice Wash. It’s not stripping at all, but my face feels so clean! It’s kept my skin clear, it creates a nice rich lather without much product, I’m def considering buying the full size! 💌fresh - Soy Makeup Removing Face Wash
$38/5.1 oz Just not a fan. It certainly doesn’t remove makeup on its own. Smells lovely of cucumbers, but feels goopy & slippery.

Favorite cleansers & current haircare!
CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser fresh - Soy Makeup Removing Face Wash OLAPLEX - No. 3 Hair Perfector Briogeo - Don't Despair, Repair! Honey Moisture Deep Conditioning Mask The Innate life Shampoo&Conditioner ( was not linked :( ) Hey guys! I haven’t done a post in a while. I hope you are all doing well. I can’t believe it’s already December! Wow! I live in Minnesota and for ONCE there still has not been any snow which makes me really sad because it’s not December without snow :(. However it still has been very cold and I’ve currently have added some new products into my self-care routine! First picture- all 3 of those cleansers I have loved and recommend to other loved ones! I get a lot of people asking me what cleanser I use and I always give them those 3 options because they have been the ones to work best for my oily/combo skin! I recently finished the Fresh soy wash and am currently finishing up the YTTP one! The first cleanser I have ever tried has been Cerave and I swear by it so much! I understand not everything works for everyone but these 3 cleansers would definitely be my top best 3! Second picture- The Innate Life natural shampoo and conditioner, This is the first natural shampoo and conditioner brand I have ever used and I have got to say it works amazing for my hair! I love how clarifying yet non stripping the shampoo is, the conditioner is definitely a thin and lightweight consistency but has hydrated my hair very well! I have long thick curly hair and I try my best to stay away from products that contain bad chemicals and ingredients for my hair. I love this brand and will continue to purchase it for my hair. I have never done an in depth haircare routine for my hair so if you are interested let me know in the comments so I can go in depth in what products I use (: ! Third picture- Olaplex No. 3& Briogeo honey hair mask When I tell you how excited I got when Briogeo brought back their honey hair mask! I have never clicked so fast to order something EVER! I SWEAR by this mask. My hair is very dry thick curly low porosity hair and this stuff makes my hair soooo soft and it smells AMAZING! I love it so much, I love briogeo as a whole brand and I love how they formulate their products without sulphates & silicones ( I do not follow CG method but I prefer no sulphates!). I was so happy to order both olaplex No. 3 and the hair mask set and used together will make your hair feel & smell so good! (Like I said I can make an entire post about my haircare regimen if you are interested) Thank you so much for reading ! ❤️

Filters are great, but great skin is BETTER!
Hi ladies! Okay so this is one of my favorite facial cleansers. (I have tried a lot, lol!) I have sensitive skin so I enjoy the gentle yet effective products. This cleansing product always leaves my skin feeling so fresh and soothed. This cleanse contains the “Japanese Luffa Fruit”. One of the main skin care benefits of this ingredient is that it acts as a natural detoxifier. Not only does the luffa fruit detoxify it also acts as a anti-inflammatory agent for the skin. I can honestly say that if I had to explain this product in a few works they would be DETOXIFY and DESTRESS so the luffa fruit extract is truly doing it’s job. My skin feels like brand new after using this product, feeling fresh is honestly an understatement. When I first encountered it I wanted to wash my face a million times a day because of the effect it had on my skin LOL!, I couldn’t get enough of it. The cleanser is somewhat like a watery thinned out jelly base with tiny pieces of the luffa fruit that act almost as a extremely gentle exfoliant in my opinion. This cleanse truly rids the skin of dirt and debris without stripping the skin barrier. You can use this product everyday morning and night. The aroma to this product is very light and fresh (I can’t stand anything with potent overbearing odor but do enjoy a little scent on occasion if it’s from natural extracts). It almost smells like green tea with a hint of citrus. I highly recommend this facial cleanser, you still not be dissatisfied!! Sometimes Sephora has the option of selecting the smaller size just do that at first to try it out. CHANGE IS GOOD 💋

Update!
This is my one month update on my skin. I have been using tretinoin cream every 3 nights & and the clindamycin phosphate lotion morning and night. I then decided to change my skincare routine to a Korean & Japanese skincare, and I’m very happy I made the choice. On December 3rd I went to get a customized facial and my esthetician told me I have acne that is clogged pores underneath my skin, so she did a deep extraction and in another few weeks I’m going to get one more done just to make sure they are all out. FARMACY - Green Clean Makeup Meltaway Cleansing Balm I was using the dhc deep cleaning oil but it was too thick for me so I switch to this and it is light and not stripping, good for a oil cleanse or a first cleanse TATCHA - The Rice Wash Skin-Softening Cleanser this cleanser is a nice hydrating cleanser and it does not strip my skin at all Krave - Kale-Lalu-yAHA I just started using this exfoliant but I really like it and I seen results right after I used it Krave - Great Barrier Relief this serum is another I just started using but I love it, and it have a nice smell to it Krave - The Beet Shield this sunscreen does not leave a white cast on my face, and I don’t feel greasy after PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Azelaic Acid Booster this products is helping me get rid of my acne marks that I have from my facial PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Niacinamide Booster I just love this! This is helping with my acne and dark marks dear, klairs - Fundamental Water Gel Cream I have to use a light weight moisturizer so it won’t clog my pores

🍚 Dewy Skin Duo: Worth it? 💜
Picked up thisTatcha duo on a whim at Sephora with so many mixed reviews on the new rice wash I had to try for myself! TATCHA - The Rice Wash Skin-Softening Cleanser TOO MUCH fragrance, I really think I would love this cleanser if it was fragrance free, I don’t mind a little scent but this was overpowering and my skin didn’t love it - it’s initially gritty but smooths and lathers really nice with some water. TATCHA - The Dewy Skin Cream This cream is so luxurious ✨ seriously if you want to feel fancy - buy this, I think it would be okay for most skin types, my crazy sensitive didn’t mind it, the fragrance is actually nice and not to overwhelming, I used it in the AM and it kept me nice and hydrated all day long! What did you think of these Tatcha products? ✨💜

🌙💤Current Nighttime routine
🌚This is my basic night routine at the moment, even though I’m still considering some new products to possibly add or swap out... Feel free to ask me any questions in the comments💕 I use the products in the following order: YVES SAINT LAURENT - Top Secrets Universal Makeup Remover Balm in Oil First part of my double-cleanse. I haven’t worn makeup since the beginning of quarantine, but it’s still really necessary to break down all the sunscreen I wear. This is a nice cleansing balm, it’s very silky & light compared to others, & has a lovely scent. I haven’t tested it yet for removing makeup though. fresh - Sugar Strawberry Exfoliating Face Wash A favorite of mine, I did a full review of this product in a previous post🍓I love this gentle exfoliating cleanser! DIOR - Hydra Life Balancing Hydration 2 in 1 Sorbet Water Check out my review of this hydrating, prebiotic toner in a previous post. MAY COOP - Raw Sauce 🍁My holy grail essence, it’s 93% maple extract. Check out my recent post for my full review & ingredient breakdown. Sulwhasoo - First Care Activating Serum Limited Edition Such an amazing serum! I need to do a more detailed review soon. ESTĒE LAUDER - Perfectionist CP+R Wrinkle Lifting/Firming Serum I don’t use this every night... it’s actually a great daytime product because it’s matte, smoothing & pore perfecting. Honestly it makes a great (but expensive) makeup primer! fresh - Lotus Anti-Aging Night Moisturizer Just did a review on this night cream, feel free to check it out. I just emptied it, so instead I used: NARS - Aqua Gel Luminous Mask This is really great product to relieve irritated skin. It has a lot of marine extracts. I did a full review of this in a previous post💙🦪This product really impressed me! Finally I’ll finish my routine with a decadent lip balm LANEIGE - LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask Also previously did a full review of this new Gummy Bear scented lip sleeping mask & the corresponding lip glowy balm🧸💜so moisturizing!!! ☁️goodnight beauties☁️

drunkelephant - Slaai Makeup M
drunkelephant - Slaai Makeup Melting Butter Cleanser. I’ve been using it since it was released in March and it’s replaced my beloved La Mer Cleansing Oil. Who’s shocked by that? I’ve always said nothing would ever take it’s place. Rich, buttery balm that helps to remove dirt, impurities and waterproof makeup. Balm transforms into milk with water. Bamboo booster contains charcoal and bamboo spheres that provide gentle exfoliation. Enriched with baobab seed oil, mongongo oil and a nourishing fruit salad blend. MY THOUGHTS: Now as most of you know I don’t wear make up every day but I have used it a few times removing it and it literally melts everything in seconds. The main reason I love this is because it removes every trace of SPF. I have liked balms in the past but I’ve always felt they left a residue on my skin but this one doesn’t do that at all it just leaves the skin super soft and really moisturised. Some days I’ll leave this on for 10-20 minutes and it’s like a hydrating mask. . When I found out the bamboo booster was meant to last for 80 uses I thought that’s an exaggeration but after using it I now know that to be true because you actually only need the tiniest amount. I find it such a gentle exfoliation. If you add too much of the booster it can feel a little rough on the skin, so if you use it and don’t like it try using less and it totally changes how it feels. I’m normally a micellar water person in the mornings but I’m considering using this in the AM to see how I like it. . Another thing I love is that you only need a small amount because it melts into an oil upon contact with heat from your face and hands. Other balms have always stung my eyes in the past but this one doesn’t do that which I love.

Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser
DRUNK ELEPHANT-Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser
Hope you like these texture sh
Hope you like these texture shots of the Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser! now I would like to give my verdict here.⁣ ⁣ Probably the best part about this cleanser is the textural experience. When I go to scoop, it's pretty thick, like fridge butter. But once I start to rub it in my hands, it instantly melts into this luxurious potion that feels creamier as compared to other cleansing balms I've tried in the past. ⁣ ⁣ I wear full coverage foundation, bronzer, eye shadows, the whole nine yards, you get the gist. And I just need a scoop to cover my whole face. It melted off my waterproof mascara without turning my whole face black and without a lot of tugging around the delicate eye skin. It causes a little bit of blurriness in my eyes, but I didn't have any issues with burning or sensitivity. ⁣ ⁣ After message it on my face for about a minute, I put a bit of water letting the formula emulsify to a milk that in my experience washed off seamlessly. You can just rinse it off with water, but I think it feels more satisfying to remove everything with a wet cloth before doing a second cleanse. However, the founder of Drunk Elephant, Tiffany Materson said that a double-cleanse is entirely optional with this cleanser, as the traces left behind after rinsing are beneficial for the skin.⁣ ⁣ With or without double cleanse, this cleanser got the job done in terms of removing my full face of makeup. So delicate, it even soothed my skin and I love how this cleanser has made my skin feel so clean, but not stripped or overly tight. I would compare the effectiveness to the Farmacy Green Clean, which I also love. However, this one really provides a higher level of hydration and noticeable smoothness to my skin. Plus, when I fall asleep and don't double cleanse, it doesn't break me up the following morning.⁣ ⁣

Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser
DRUNK ELEPHANT-Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser
DE Slaai cleanser vs Farmacy Green Clean
DE Slaai cleanser vs Farmacy Green Clean
I love my FARMACY - Green Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm as a eye makeup remover, full face of makeup remover , it kind of melts everything down, be it a makeup or my sunscreen. I have been using it for a long time about more than a year. But I was really curious to try the DRUNK ELEPHANT - Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser so I decided to film my first impressions of using it. So I am going to break it down into following categories and compare these two based on Consistency, textures, ingredients and efficiency. Consistency/texture:- Speaking of consistency and textures they both are quite same and melts off very easily after coming in contact with skin. I like to rub my balms between my fingers and then apply it over my skin. How they work? The balmy texture of these cleansers turn into oils after rubbing them onto the skin. They breaks down the products on your skin so you can rinse that off with water or you can also use a cottan pad as well. Ingredients:- The ingredients in both of them seems quite good to me. They both are clean at Sephora which means they are free of all those synthetic ingredients that could be harmful to skin. I would like to mention one thing here that Farmacy green clean contains essential oils in it which haven’t been a problem to my skin at all or my eyes but some people find it make their eyes itchy. The difference between these two ? They both work same way to remove makeup or cleanse your skin. The only difference that I have found so far is that DE slaai cleanser takes a little longer to wash off as compared to other one. Also I feel like it left kind of a oily residue on my skin which I am not a fan of. I want my skin to feel clean and hydrated after. My pick ? I have used Farmacy green clean forever and I can’t see myself cheating with it, because this one sets the standard for every other oil or balm cleanser I use. I liked the DE Slaai cleanser as well but I don’t see myself getting the full size in near future. I will keep trying other balms here and there for a change or for comparison but again love my green clean. 💚

I’m so, so, so happy with this
I’m so, so, so happy with this Soy Face Cleanser - it is so, 100% worth the hype - it totally removes all my makeup, mascara and eyeliner and all, and it softens my skin like no other cleanser does. It’s made with amino acid-rich soy proteins which help maintain elasticity and healthy skin, rosewater to calm and balance, calming cucumber extract to aid in soothing the skin, and borage seed oil which helps to nourish. This cleanser smells lovely and refreshing, and does everything that it claims to. You guys need to grab one of these Limited Edition sizes before they’re gone! The package is so aesthetically pleasing, which is SUCH a plus - y’all know how much I love me some aesthetically pleasing packaging Who else is obsessed with this cleanser?!
