My longtime obsession with long nails //PICS!🔪

nay.nay
Yup, I’m that girl clickin & clackin on her phone! Sorrrry💁🏻‍♀️ 💅🏽💅🏿💅🏼💅🏾💅🏻 I’ve been obsessed with crazy long nails since i was a little kid. I got my first set of acrylics probably sophomore year of high school. I was pretty tomboy in high school even though I wore a lot of makeup, they were pretty annoying at first & the dance companies I was in banned fake nails for shows & even practice. I would get sets occasionally in college, but went to art school & they definitely get in the way with certain processes. ♿️ I got severely injured in 2014, when I was 26, & the cuticle biting habit I’ve always had was sooo bad because I literally had nothing to do all day. I was working as a server in California at the time, so I was definitely not allowed to have fake nails or nail polish of any kind. I ended up returning to acrylics full time after I got injured & I could finally stop biting my cuticles! The nails just look so pretty, I felt less eager to mess with them & the nails are thicker than a natural nail so you can’t pick at your skin (or pop pimples with this length! Plus!) 💔 A combination of moving away from my favorite nail tech, ( TONY I LOVE YOU & OH HOW MISS YOU SO! ) & obviously quarantine, forced me to abandon my long fake nails for now. The damage: Getting full acrylic sets & fills pretty much non-stop for almost 6 years, my real nails were not cute, thin & brittle. I was so lucky to have a very talented & meticulous technician for the last 2 of those years. I honestly never had any of the nasty issues some people can face with acrylics. What are acrylics? Acrylic nails are created by first applying a plastic nail extension with glue to part of your nail to add length. Then a powder & liquid acrylic monomer are combined into a sort of “blob of dough” & shaped onto your nails with a brush & air dried. Next they will be further shaped & smoothed with manual & electric files. A GOOD tech will take about 2 hours, not less. I always chose gel polish that’s cured with a UV light on top of my acrylics, but you can also just do regular nail polish. I worked up to this length- they make me feel like myself, know what I mean? But I wouldn’t recommend starting off long if you aren’t used to it. Your natural nails grow out & then in 2-3 weeks you can get what’s called a “fill”, where your polish is removed & a small amount of the monomer is applied to the base of your nail bed & blended into what you already have on your nail. Quarantine: Had my last real set in February... I ordered long press-ons a few times, which I really loved, but they’re just not the same strength-wise. I was actually kinda rough on my nails & rarely broke them. At least when press-ons pop off, you can just glue it back on instead of rushing to the salon! I’ve had fun trying ones with gems & charms! In the past I stuck to solid colors & glitter with acrylics due to the cost & sitting time. IMO the best press-ons are from black owned business, Hawt Nailz!

Glowing Natural-glam Fall Makeup
Natural glam is some of my favorite makeup to rock, and fall makes it even better with all of the delicious warm tones and golds. I always love to play up my eyes and highlight to get a lit from within glow that complements the warm neutrals I use for my shadows and lips. Using the inspiration of golden hour and the changing colors of the leaves never fails 🍁 For my eyes, I used a mixture of NATASHA DENONA - Mini Nude Eyeshadow Palette and my HUDA BEAUTY - The New Nude Eyeshadow Palette to get the perfect mix of warm tones and golds. I start by blending the camel color from natasha in my crease, and deepen it with the next darkest brown in the palette (a chocolate) on my outer V. I take my finger and press crave from huda onto the center of my lid, layering my highlight on the inner corner and smoking my lower lash line out with the same chocolate colour. The duo-chrome shadows in the huda palette is extra fun, and adds extra dimension to the look; I love the shift of crave and daydream. I add a dot of highlight to the center of my lower lash line as well. I dont line in this look, but use a few coats of a dark black mascara like CHANEL - Le Volume de Mascara which doesn’t smudge or flake, and applies easily with little clumping for long and voluminous lashes. I darken my brows to give a more structured look to my eyes. I’ve been loving the Rare Beauty - Brow Harmony Pencil and Gel which makes my brows look naturally tinted and sculpted for a more elegant look. I didnt contour in this look, but layered on benefit - Hoola Matte Bronzing Powder liberally with a darker bronzer powder still in a warmer shade CHANEL - LES BEIGES HEALTHY GLOW Sheer Powder I don’t contour because for this look i’m sticking with only warm tones, and my contour shade is cool. I mix in my blush, EM COSMETICS - Heaven’s Glow: Magic Hour Blush which truly transfers the colour of magic onto the face, and top it with my Charlotte Tilbury - Beauty Highlighter Wand that melts into the skin and gives a heavenly glow. For my lips, I used a mix of Charlotte Tilbury - Matte Revolution Lipstick and EM COSMETICS - EM Cosmetics Lip Cushion for perfect warm nude pink tones. What’s your go-to look? Would you try this out? Let me know what you think down below! 💕

Baby’s first Makeup post🌷🙊🍡
I used to always do the same look for work or hanging out with friends because I was really comfortable with it. Sound familiar? I’m the queen of hitting the pan on a beige shimmer eyeshadow time & time again, so during the beginning of quarantine I wanted to push myself to use all the colorful cosmetics I’ve bought impulsively over the years. In every photo I’m wearing CHANEL - Le Correcteur de Chanel Longwear Concealer in 10 & CHANEL - LES BEIGES HEALTHY GLOW Sheer Powder in shade: 20 Lol my container is beyond busted don’t hate... I purchased this in January 2019 & I still haven’t run out. I’ve repurchased the concealer 3 times now, it’s the first concealer I’ve ever found to match my skin flawlessly with shade & texture. *I haven’t been wearing makeup at all lately, but since I started using this concealer & powder on 1/15/19 instead of a full face of foundation, my skin got a lot clearer. 🎀SOFT PINK LOOK: I used a small amount of URBAN DECAY - 24/7 Glide-on Eye Pencil shade: Woodstock towards the outer edge & diffused the color with the Gucci powder shadow GUCCI - Magnetic Color Shadow Mono in 090-Tourmaline My favorite curling mascara GIVENCHY - Phenomen’eyes Mascara in shade: 1-deep black—— my ultimate favorite is the dark brown shade I can’t seem to find anymore, but this formula is awesome! Holds my curl, adds length & always looks natural, not clumpy. Used it in every look🖤 I also used ARMANI beauty - Fluid Sheer Glow Enhancer in 08 -my favorite buildable highlighter blush that I’ve used for years & still haven’t emptied. I used it in every look too💗 Finished withDIOR - Diorshow Brow Styler Ultra-Fine Precision Brow Pencil in 002- dark brown to add a little definition. 🐾KITTEN EYE WITH PINK MASCARA: I’m really not good at anything eyeliner related so I was proud of this haha... FirstToo Faced - Sketch Marker Liquid Art Eyeliner in black on a prepped eyelid (for me that’s just conceal & powder) Then I used the Givenchy mascara on the top lashes & hot pink mascara on the bottom lashesDIOR - Addict It-Lash Volumizing Mascara shade: 872 No brow filling for this look, just added the ESTĒE LAUDER - Pure Color Love Cooling Highlighter in 002- Sultry Shine over the Armani liquid highlighter & one of my favorite glosses DIOR - Lip Glow Oil shade: 001 pink 💨420 LOOK: Wanted to have some fun with this look since I was just gonna hang at home alone... I used a really old TooFaced eyeshadow😬a duo called Fantasy Island🏝 On the outer third of my eyelid I used ARMANI beauty - Eye Tint Liquid Eyeshadow in shade: 8- Flannel, this color is really unique & the camera doesn’t do it justice. It’s a gorgeous smokey metallic mauve. I finished with same gloss, mascara & brow tool.

Dewy and flash- friendly Natural Makeup
I’ve always loved fuss free and natural looks so im sharing my go-to no makeup look that you can do when you’re on the go but still want to look purrty🍭 it Cosmetics - it Cosmetics CC+ Cream SPF 50+ one of my fave natural bases as it has no flashbacks, and decent dewy coverage, long-lasting on my oily skin and has spf50! Loving the pump bottle too which is mess- free and travel- friendly. benefit - Benefit Tinted Cheek & Lip Stain i love this color on my medium skin tone and its very long lasting too very apt for mask- wearing times as they won’t rub off easily and this stays rain or shine. A tiny dot goes a loong way too and i use this for my lips and cheeks. ANASTASIA Beverly Hills - Dipbrow Pomade i lightly dip my brush for that natural look on the brows and top it with.. PATRICK TA - Major Brow Shaping Wax i could see why this is a hyped product and it stays a long time too. Only con is you need to find the technique that works for you especially on how wet the brush should be to scrape the wax off and deposit the right amount on the brows. innisfree - No Sebum Mineral Powder i use this to set my makeup and seal my undereye concealer. It also doubles as a dry shampoo! L'ORÉAL - Telescopic Waterproof Mascara i see why this mascara is very praised and it’s because it stays on when you want it on and gives that covetable lashes for dayzzz NYX - NYX Retractable Eyeliner i use the beigey color to open up the eyes by putting it on the water line. It glides on well and stays put i have no complaints.. MAC - MAC Eyeshadow in cork. I use this for the nose line and as bronzer on the go. I love that it’s matte and taupey and also long- lasting with the packaging perfect for travel. NARS - Radiant Creamy Concealer i use this as my undereye and blemish concealer. For the undereyes, i smudge a little peach cream blush, usually NARS - The Multiple in Siam. Just a litttttllle bit to serve as corrector before the concealer. This also avoids the reverse raccoon 👀 MAC - MAC Prep + Prime Fix+ Finishing Mist this serves both as my priming and finishing spray and i love that it serves its purpose but yet to find a cheaper alternative because im aware that there may be a nice dupe out there.. 🤔 Thats it! Excited to know your no makeup go-tos too!🍬

MAKEUP TIPS FOR LARGE PORES
So, since I have oily skin, my pores tend to be a little larger and more obvious. However, there are a couple tips and tricks to making them look smaller when I put makeup on - here’s how I do it. ➡️ Use a clay mask on the night of your event This is also an important one. It ensures that you don’t have any excess sebum in your pores, making them look larger than they really are. I would highly recommend doing this, especially if you’re doing makeup for a special event and need your pores to look smaller! ➡️ Ensure skin is super hydrated So if your skin is very well-hydrated, it’s going to be much plumper and full of water - this makes pores look smaller as the skin kind of presses together more, reducing the look of pores. If your skin is feeling dry or dehydrated, your pores will look more visible - so ensure your skin is super hydrated. ➡️ Use a pore-filling primer I like to use Maybelline Baby Skin, but there are many filling primers out there! The tip with this type of primer is to tap it into the skin, instead of spreading. It will (temporarily) fill the pores to create a smooth surface that the makeup will go over, creating the illusion of zero pores. Don’t worry, this doesn’t block pores - like the rest of your makeup, if you’re using a proper makeup removal method then you have nothing to worry about. ➡️ Always use a setting powder Setting powder, well, sets your makeup in place AND it helps to minimise the look of pores by creating a matte finish over them. They don’t get a chance to reflect light and show their true texture - making your skin look poreless! Full look product list: MAC - MAC Eyeshadow Sable MAYBELLINE - Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser Primer wet n wild - Photofocus Liquid Matte Foundation KISSME - Kiss Me Waterproof Lengthening and Curling Mascara LUCAS' PAPAW REMEDIES - Lucas' Papaw Ointment Lip Balm innisfree - No Sebum Mineral Powder

🕷🕯Friday the 13th & feelin cute!🕯🕷
I try not to be superstitious about a day or a number, but I still find myself thinking about it🤔 🍂It’s really feeling like Fall! Had the first snow of the season the other day, but now it’s just raining a lot🌧 Before I took better care of my skin, I rarely took selfies without makeup on, I just didn’t feel cute. Now I feel cute with a glowing face full of skincare & have kinda ditched makeup (which personally, also helped my skin tremendously!) I felt extra cute today & just wanted to chill & get cozy, but we have guests right now, so I decided to throw on my fav mascara & gloss for fun. ➡️ Everything on my skin, lashes & lips is in the next photo. GIVENCHY - Phenomen’eyes Mascara Is my ultimate favorite mascara! I truly miss the brown shade this used to come in, but that’s just me, loved it for my lashes (& brows when I was lazy) The brown shade was not great for every look, but it was so soft & natural looking. This black shade is your basic, classic black, I’m just so in love with the formula & applicator. 🏰The comb reminds me of that medieval spikey ball weapon thing. Love it. It makes it super easy for me to control where I’m applying, & keep it light, feathery & clump-free (my personal preference for an everyday mascara look) I love how i can just sort of “kiss” my lashes with this product, especially the bottom line, so effectively. ✔️You can definitely get a more dramatic effect with this mascara if that’s what you’re going for! 🖤The thing I love most is how the formula really holds my curl throughout the day! My tricks for lashes is start with a great curler. This will be different for everyone, because we all have different eye shapes. My eyes are not deep set at all. My lashes aren’t particularly long, but my lashes sometimes graze the inside of sunglasses for instance... My perfect eyelash curler has a less pronounced curve than most standard American market curlers, which helps get me the perfect curl with no pinching at all! 🛍I also use a FREE spoolie (yes I’m that bitch at Sephora) to comb out any clumps. SHISEIDO - Shiseido Eyelash Curler I also always have these on hand, so I’m never with a cracked/split one, save your eyes from injury & hidden bacteria: SHISEIDO - SHISEIDO Eyelash Curler Pad I wish Sephora carried these! They’re only $6/2 pack-but annoying/wasteful to buy without free shipping-unless I buy tons lol. *i always curl BEFORE mascara! As the mascara is kinda drying I use clean fingers to sort of push them up to curl a bit more & have it hold! ⚠️You may be tempted to use a curler at some point AFTER mascara. Though I did it 1,000x without incident, the one time I pulled out over half my top line was it for me! Proceed with caution. DIOR - Lip Glow Oil So moisturizing & not sticky! Lips look alive & plump!💕 NEST FRAGRANCES - Bamboo Candle 🕯Jasmine/Amber vibes, warm, perfect for Fall🍂

Burberry Face Fresh Glow Highlighter vs. Dior Nude Luminizer #002
I recommend these two products for highlights that I use daily. These two products are relatively similar in terms of their color. They both have a moderate glow. The quality of the powder is good, and it is so creamy instead of powdery! 😍 ✨Dior Nude Luminizer #002 DIOR - Skin Nude Luminizer Shimmering Glow Powder Highlighter This is the first product I bought from Dior, and I have now been using it for more than two years. The #002 Pink Glow is beautiful. This faded white pink color is the first choice for many of my friends. The color is subtle and the shimmer is pretty usual. It is also very soft. I have mentioned this product many times before and I highly recommend it. 👍 ✨Burberry Face Fresh Glow Highlighter Nude Gold BURBERRY - Beauty Fresh Glow Highlighter I've used this product about ten times, and it feels similar to the Dior one I have. Both of these products are made with solid powders without glitters. It is very suitable for people that wear makeup for work. It brightens up the face in a subtle way, which makes the entire face look lively. The color is bright and pigmented.  If you compare these two side by side, you can see that the colors are very similar. They are both pinkish highlights, and their powders are both very solid and creamy. Both have colors similar to a pressed setting powder. I recommend these to beginners of using highlighters. 💕

Fenty Beauty Highlight vs. Dior Highlight, worth
Talking about highlight, I believe Fenty Beauty and Dior are the two brands that everyone would mention. They have the most popular highlight products, which are Diamond Bomb All-Over Diamond Veil and DIORSKIN NUDE LUMINIZER respectively. Dior’s price is twice higher than Fenty Beauty, does it worth? DIORSKIN NUDE LUMINIZER: 001 $48 Effect: This is not a strong and aggressive highlight. The pigmented is soft, elegant and natural. No chunky glitter. After applying this, the face looks smooths and healthy, without tend to emphasize skin texture and pores. Powder:the texture is really creamy. Super fine powder Color: A champagne shimmer. This color is versatile for anyone. Packing:this is a set, a highlighter with a mini size highlight brush and a suede dust cover. Detailed external packing with silver color, looks advanced. Diamond Bomb All-Over Diamond Veil $39 Effect: just like the name, the highlight is extremely glittering veil of pure sparkle. The sparkle, is of showing the diamond effect incisively and vividly. Really 3D effect of the glitter. Powder:the glitter is big but the texture is smooth and really soft. Color: only silver, no colored base, no additional pigment that the shimmer is suspended in Packing: The box packing is pink with actual glitter glue, which girl does not like it? For the highlight external packing, it is a pink hexagon, just like diamond. I love both highlights, both of them use for my everyday makeup. These two highlights are totally different styles and different effects. It is difficult to say if Dior is worth the price or not comparing with Fenty Beauty. If you prefer a nude and natural makeup, Dior is absolutely the choice for you. Fenty Beauty is more exaggerated, maybe for clubbing and people who like glitter effects.

This Is My Love That I Can Not Give Up Ever!
Lip styling is an important expression of a person's style and mood of the day. Creating a satin lip look is a problem that every girl is thinking about, and the key to the problem is a lip product that matches their temperament. Only the right color and texture can create the perfect effect.   YVES SAINT LAURENT - Tatouage Couture Liquid Matte Lip Stain 08 black red code --- deep burgundy $38   This is a high impact liquid matte lip stain. Its formula has high adhesion like ink, and will not fade for eight or nine hours a day. But it will not burden your lips, it can create a naked-lip feel. When the formula slips on the lips, we hardly feel any sensation because it dries quickly and does not transfer. The most surprising thing is its applicator, which can provide a precise lip liner through the control of the brush, so as to perfectly define the lips every time it is applied. The color of YSL TATOUAGE COUTURE LIQUID MATTE LIP STAIN 08 is very temperamental. It is a darker wine red. Everyone may have a different color after applying it on the lips, but overall, this color will appear very aura. The color of this LIP STAIN is very high, once it is applied to the lips, it will immediately have a very obvious color. At the same time, its durability is also very good. Whether you drink water or eat, it will not take off makeup. Of course, this also means that it needs more moisturizing lips, so the first step in using this LIP STAIN is to apply a thick lip balm to your lips to make your lips moisturized enough. After waiting for a few minutes, after your lips have absorbed, wipe the residue with a paper towel so that it will not affect the texture of the LIP STAIN application.

Has anyone tried Nest lip balms?🕯
So, currently my favorite candle is Nest: Bamboo. I love so many different candles, but can be very picky & really only like natural smelling candles. This has a really strong fragrance, I would say most Nest candles pack a punch. I love that because i can fill my whole studio with one of the large candles (& I have 2 cats with an indoor litter box) Nest describes the profile as flowering bamboo, a variety of white florals, sparkling citrus & fresh green accords. To me I don’t get the citrus... & honestly hate citrus scented things. I find this to be a very warm scent, great for all year round & perfectly delightful in Summer. To be quite honest I don’t know what flowering bamboo smells like in real life, but the lovely complex of white flowers is very sophisticated. It’s almost like jasmine & amber ? The lush greens are definitely there too. It’s not sweet but not too robust either. They use a food-grade paraffin wax, & I’ve had really great even burn with all Nest candles. Though I wish every candle in the world came with a lid, can’t knock off a star for that... NEST FRAGRANCES - Bamboo Candle Now onto the lip balm!!!! We don’t want paraffin there! I came across this on Ulta.com & I’ve been in the market for a new lip balm with spf that doesn’t contain petroleum products. This one has an spf of 15 from Octinoxate & Oxybenzone (however those are chemical sunscreens) & is beeswax based with lots of beneficial oils high on the ingredients list like coconut, grape seed, jojoba & apricot kernel. (Full ingredients list on last slide) Though I haven’t really been a fan of beeswax based lip balms, I’d be very interested to try this because it’s so hard to find a lip balm that has spf as well as decent ingredients. I eat too much lip balm to put petroleum on my lips ever again! NEST FRAGRANCES - Bamboo & Jasmine Lip Balm SPF 15 NEST FRAGRANCES - Ocean Mist & Coconut Water Lip Balm SPF 15 NEST FRAGRANCES - Grapefruit & Verbena Lip Balm SPF 15 NEST FRAGRANCES - Ginger & Neroli Lip Balm SPF 15 I really want to try the bamboo/jasmine obviously, but there are 3 other scents from their popular candies from what I can find. Has anyone tried any of these? I would love to hear your experience! FYI— They’re strangely not on the Nest site but are available at Ulta.

Nails’s coat: matte or shine?
Nails’s coat: matte or shine?
Among all colors, I pick the white mostly. White color is easy to match clothes and makes people feel very fashionable. I've tried white glossy and matte before. For the matte style, it has high sense of quality! So adorable! But the disadvantages are matte style is very easy to get dirty. Especially for white color, it will turn to yellow finally. In addition, one thing I always get confused. After applying finishing gel, matte texture can feel more buring feeling than shine nails under the UV-LED. Maybe their finishing gels are different? Anybody know why that is?
