Cosrx cotton rounds vs. Shiseido facial cotton🤍
☁️I ditched drugstore cotton pads a long time ago, I could never consistently find ones that didn’t flake & shred fibers onto my face. I have sensitive eyes & I absolutely hate getting anything stuck in there, I’m sure we all do. I don’t wear makeup much anymore, but having cotton pads that don’t shed or fall apart is so crucial for removing eye makeup! I mostly use cotton pads for my toning step. A good cotton pad will be absorbent, but not too much to be able to dispense your products across your face. 💦Pro Tip: If your cotton pads still look dirty or has traces of makeup after toning, this means your cleansing routine isn’t cutting it. Toning is not meant to further clean your skin after cleansing. Rather, toner meant to help rebalance skin & prepare it for your following hydration/moisture routine. 🚰 Toner is an important for me because I’m not super happy with my tap water quality. If I wouldn’t drink, I’m not thrilled about washing my face with it, but I’m not bougie enough to wash with Évian®😭 SHISEIDO - SHISEIDO Facial Cotton

🌙💤Current Nighttime routine
🌚This is my basic night routine at the moment, even though I’m still considering some new products to possibly add or swap out... Feel free to ask me any questions in the comments💕 I use the products in the following order: YVES SAINT LAURENT - Top Secrets Universal Makeup Remover Balm in Oil First part of my double-cleanse. I haven’t worn makeup since the beginning of quarantine, but it’s still really necessary to break down all the sunscreen I wear. This is a nice cleansing balm, it’s very silky & light compared to others, & has a lovely scent. I haven’t tested it yet for removing makeup though. fresh - Sugar Strawberry Exfoliating Face Wash A favorite of mine, I did a full review of this product in a previous post🍓I love this gentle exfoliating cleanser! DIOR - Hydra Life Balancing Hydration 2 in 1 Sorbet Water Check out my review of this hydrating, prebiotic toner in a previous post. MAY COOP - Raw Sauce 🍁My holy grail essence, it’s 93% maple extract. Check out my recent post for my full review & ingredient breakdown. Sulwhasoo - First Care Activating Serum Limited Edition Such an amazing serum! I need to do a more detailed review soon. ESTĒE LAUDER - Perfectionist CP+R Wrinkle Lifting/Firming Serum I don’t use this every night... it’s actually a great daytime product because it’s matte, smoothing & pore perfecting. Honestly it makes a great (but expensive) makeup primer! fresh - Lotus Anti-Aging Night Moisturizer Just did a review on this night cream, feel free to check it out. I just emptied it, so instead I used: NARS - Aqua Gel Luminous Mask This is really great product to relieve irritated skin. It has a lot of marine extracts. I did a full review of this in a previous post💙🦪This product really impressed me! Finally I’ll finish my routine with a decadent lip balm LANEIGE - LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask Also previously did a full review of this new Gummy Bear scented lip sleeping mask & the corresponding lip glowy balm🧸💜so moisturizing!!! ☁️goodnight beauties☁️
Current lil daytime routine⛅️🥱🍓💦🌹✨
I’m always trying new things & samples, but this is my basic routine for the AM🧡 Feel free to ask me any questions in the comments! I use the products in the following order: fresh - Sugar Strawberry Exfoliating Face Wash My favorite exfoliating cleanser! There’s a full review in a previous post if you wanna check it out🍓 DIOR - Hydra Life Balancing Hydration 2 in 1 Sorbet Water A great toner I reviewed in my last post. Sulwhasoo - First Care Activating Serum I did a first impressions review of this not too long ago... I am still totally loving it. I now crave the fresh herbaceous scent that I wasn’t sure about at first. I find this to be working really well with my skin, always calming & soothing. I still feel like I haven’t been using it long enough (less than a month) to speak on anti aging benefits. Expect a more thorough review in the future, but I can solidly say I love this Hanbang (traditional Korean herbal medicine) skincare product. fresh - Rose & Hyaluronic Acid Deep Hydration Moisturizer 🌹I’ve used this for a while, but I’m on the lookout for something new. This moisturizer leaves skin pretty shiny but I love the way it feels. Cooling & refreshing, with a pretty strong rose scent. I may be having a slight reaction to it when I apply it though. I noticed it makes my light warm toned skin very pink right after, only for a little bit, but it doesn’t happen when I rub in other products, so it’s not physical. I read a review with a customer experiencing the same issue chalking it up to the rose extract. I have always loved rose extract & don’t recall having issues before... just something to consider. SHISEIDO - Urban Environment Oil-Free UV Protector Broad Spectrum Face Sunscreen SPF 42 I’ve used this face sunscreen for years. There are some better options perhaps... now that I want to switch over to fully mineral sunscreen (this has zinc, but also chemical sunscreen.) Nonetheless this has always kept me from being burnt, never irritated my eyes (initially what landed me on this particular sunscreen because everything else I tried hurt my eyes at some point) I like shaking it up, the thin texture is easy to apply & leaves a matte finish. I actually feel like this has helped clear up my skin at times, I recommend for acne sufferers. Has a tiny bit of a white cast, but not bad at all. ARMANI beauty - Fluid Sheer Glow Enhancer I apply this to my cheeks for a very angelic & natural glow over my sunscreen☁️💗( I use shade : 08) clé de peau BEAUTÉ - UV Protective Lip Treatment Broad Spectrum SPF 30 I did a full review on this recently... I wasn’t impressed for $65 LANEIGE - Lip Glowy Balm 💜this gummy bear scented lip balm! See full review🐻🍭 SHISEIDO - Shiseido Eyelash Curler Less of a curve than most, my holy grail
🇰🇷30% off K-Beauty thru the end of November!
Soko Glam is having an amazing sale on their already affordable offering of Korean skincare & beauty products. 💳 30% off! And it lasts until 11/30/20! What is Soko Glam? It’s not a brand, but an online retailer for beauty products from Korea, for American consumers. 🗺 I’m not sure where else they ship to at this time but, Charlotte Cho, the American esthetician, is the sites curator & founded her own brand as well, Then I Met You, in 2018. 📦 They ship very fast compared to some other sites that do the same thing & offer free shipping on $35+ There’s a great selection of Korean brands you might know already & many you don’t. I’ve purchased brands like #17VDerma, Cosrx, Etude House & Saturday Skin from this site. +I recently discovered my new ultimate favorite lip balm for only $9, from a brand I’d never even heard of called unpa cosmetics. Kept my haul to basic right now, but I did want to check out the new Probiotic stuff by Neogen! unpa.Cosmetics - Bubi Bubi Lip Ampoule $9/.35 oz I’ve already posted full review on this lip balm/treatment with Ceramides & 3 different forms of Hyaluronic Acid! It’s affordable, easy to keep sanitary, super cute & simply so nourishing & moisturizing, without being an unfamiliar lip balm texture. It’s semi-thick & melts into a beautiful glossy finish. Must have this winter!🥶 🌹Also has a delicate & subtle rose scent that reminds me of the now discounted Dior crème de Rose lip balm! unpa.Cosmetics - Bubi Bubi Lip$14/.4 oz This is a new product for me, but I fell in love with the lip balm so tough, that I was curious about this. I was in need of a lip scrub or exfoliator of some kind, so o figured I’ll try this. It uses fruit extracts like Papaya & some sort of bubbling formulation to exfoliate, instead of a physical exfoliant like sugar... It’s also hypoallergenic, so I’m curious to see what it’s all about. I also recopped these $17/1 oz serums I absolutely fell in love with: 🐝Bee Propolis & Niacinamide serum: Beauty of Joseon - Glow Serum : Propolis+Niacinamide & 🐌their Snail Mucin serum, which I totally stan now because of its healing, moisturizing & regenerative properties:Beauty of Joseon - Repair Serum : Ginseng+Snail Mucin I cant say enough good things about these (& the Green Tea+Panthenol) serums! They’re pH balanced, very clean, with minimal & effective ingredients! Healed in under 1 week! How I prevented scarring
🐺So I have a 9 month old Siberian Husky, he’s got way too much energy for me sometimes. He totally booped me in the eye with his teeth & basically bit my eyelid. I was honestly so f***ing worried, eye skin is so sensitive & my skin scar easily, even from bruising. So how did I get this back to normal in 6 days? First things first... Regularly applying (yup, multiple times a day) SUNSCREEN will help prevent hyperpigmentation. ☀️When you get a cut or bruise, even a baby one, your skin barrier has been compromised. Even the healthiest skin barrier will not protect you from UV rays whatsoever & any new skin growing after an abrasion is extremely susceptible to UV damage, regardless of your skin tone! I’m super pale, but even with skin that doesn’t burn easily, newly generated skin tissue will become darker if you don’t use an SPF to protect it. I included a pic of a scratch I got from my dog several months ago, where I totally didn’t protect it from the sun. I can be lazy about body sunscreen & this proved to me that almost any broken skin will scar if it gets sun. I used: KINSHIP - Self Reflect Probiotic Moisturzing Sunscreen Zinc Oxide SPF 32 But honestly any sunscreen you like with a decent SPF is key for scar prevention. Reapply & reapply! I love this formula because it’s so moisturizing! Full review in a previous post. Keeping your skin hydrated & moisturized is super important too, you want to give your skin nourishment while it heals. Which brings me to the second most important thing. 🐌A repair serum: Beauty of Joseon - Repair Serum : Ginseng+Snail Mucin I have fully fallen in love with Snail Mucin after this serum! Because Snail Mucin is a stress-induced excretion, it's comprised of ingredients meant to repair or protect from injury. These include growth factors, which work by triggering the growth of new skin cells & new collagen. This particular serum is really affordable-$17. It contains over 3% Snail Mucin & it’s over 63% Ginseng extract, also amazing for skin repair & evening tone. Allantoin is another component in the secretion; healing properties, calms irritation & stimulates cell regeneration Also fragrance/alcohol free! Sulwhasoo - First Care Activating Serum Limited Edition This is also packed with Ginseng & other reparative botanical extracts. This really helps me retain moisture in my skin, I use it 2x a day & have noticed generally brighter & clearer skin in the last few months. You use this after cleansing or toning, before other serums. TATCHA - The Silk Peony Melting Eye Cream After a couple days I added this. ETUDE - SoonJung 2x Barrier Intensive Cream Great for sensitive skin & has vitamin E. I alternated between this &: TATCHA - The Dewy Skin Cream Also used this: Beauty of Joseon - Glow Serum : Propolis+Niacinamide Almost 60% Propolis + 2% Niacinamide
Fabulous Makeup Remover
Ok. First off. If you haven’t purchased shiseido’s facial cottons, you have not lived. The facial cotton they make is SO soft and absorbs liquid so well. When you use it to apply a toner or remove makeup, it feels like the worlds softest tissue gliding along your face. Imagine charmine three ply toilet paper but doubled up and cut into a perfect square... shiseido is pretty similar. The amount you get in the package too is well worth the $14 it costs. Trust me. Buy a package of them. UNREAL Ok so- the BEST makeup remover I’ve ever used is this cleansing water. It’s so good for sensitive skin- especially around the eyes because it doesn’t burn them. Someone when I’ve used makeup remover, the product has bled into my eyes and causes them to burn or make me squint really hard. This cleansing water doesn’t do that at all. It gently removes all types of makeup (waterproof included) with the help of rose water but also soothes sensitive and stressed skin with their mixture of ingredients they call “dragons breath” It’s super hydrating too! You know when you wipe your face with a makeup wipe but then your face has a weird film on it afterwards- yeah- not with this baby! I honestly don’t know how people just take off their makeup with a wipe and then go to bed! I need to wash my face and then apply four hundred creams before I go to sleep 😝 Anyway, buy these two products. THE BEST combo
Lotion mask method
This idea is taken from the book The Japanese skincare revolution by Chizu Saeki, I honestly don’t remember where I saw that someone recommended this book, but I bought it to learn more about the advice she gave. It’s a popular method in Japan thanks to Chizu Saeki, she places a lot of emphasis on skin hydration, this method is one of the techniques to improve skin hydration levels. In Japan, lotions are similar to toners, but Japanese lotions tend to be thicker and more hydrating. You only need a lotion (toner), multi-layered cotton pads and water. After cleaning your skin: 1. Take a multi-layered cotton pad and soak it in water. 2. Press the cotton to remove excess water. 3. Soak the cotton pad with the lotion (toner). 4. Separate the cotton sheets and put them on your face as a mask. 5. You can apply cling pack or a shower cap to increase the penetration of the lotion. 6. Leave 3 minutes and remove. Then follow your normal beauty routine. You can use whatever toner you have on hand 🙌🏻. This routine leaves the skin hydrated and soft and makes the rest of the products work better. *** I'm going to post a video with the steps, since you can't combine photos and videos in the same review.

My favorite products in my routine!
So this is my first post- totally open to feedback here! Note: I am not a professional in the skincare industry- solely someone that has figured out what works for her and want to share products that have been really effective for my daily + weekly routine as someone that’s been working to manage dry/combination, fair + occasionally pretty sensitive skin 🙌🏼 TRULY - Eye Candy Anti-Puff Eye Cream I put this baby on before bed and when I wake up in the morning- it instantly adds brightness! I apply around the main areas of my eyes and also above my eyebrows. I find I don’t really need to use anything make-up wise except for a BB cream or tinted moisturizer now that I regularly use this beforehand! Fragrance-free. Mamonde - Lip Sleeping Mask Plum Blossom I’ll start this off by saying I don’t use this at night- it’s pretty heavy and leaves residue on my pillow (plus I’m a side sleeper 😅), but it’s EPIC during the day! I’ll wear it under my mask and I find within an hour, my lips are so supple and soft and it lasts all day. Otherwise if I’m at home all day, I’ll reapply one more time in the evening after I’ve had dinner and brushed my teeth. TRULY - Mary Jane CBD Glow Serum I love this- AM + PM routine. It’s super calming and keeps my skin from feeling dried out, or from getting any redness or irritation I’ve gotten in the past when I’ve been out in the sun for longer periods of time during the day. I also mix this with my retinol cream sometimes in the morning. More details on that below! On days where my skin feels extra dry, I’ll mix this with TRULY - Purple Rain Glow Serum (not pictured but fantastic!) RoC - Retinol Correxion Deep Wrinkle Daily Moisturizer LOVE THIS STUFF. For PM I use their night version. I’ve noticed with any breakouts I’ve ever gotten since using this, that it dries those little guys out and away while keeping my skin feeling very dewy. It takes a hot second to blend in and can feel oily at first, but after a few minutes it sets in and my skin feels super soft the rest of the day. On days where I notice I’m breaking out or if I have some redness (or when I ate a ton of sugar 🍑🍓🍫🍬), I’ll mix this retinol cream with the Mary Jane CBD serum. I try to avoid using this leading up to days where I know I’ll be out at the beach or in the harsh heat for longer amounts of time, and instead opt for a tinted moisturizer or a BB cream with SPF 25 or more, in addition to some spray-on sunscreen I can lightly spritz on after a few hours. I’ll also avoid using the retinol cream a few days before I get my eyebrows threaded or pluck myself, or on days where I plan on doing some deep face exfoliating. I have some more products that I use for exfoliating that I’d love to share in another post, for anyone interested in a solid shaving routine for super difficult, sensitive legs and lady bits ✨ Thanks for reading!
